This Shell station U-Haul did a great job. However, I must say that prior to speaking with and going with them I had tried to schedule with them through your main switchboard. I was told that the nearest store to me was in Park Slope which would have necessitated a 15 mile drive to my house which I moving out of with attendant mileage charges. Yet, when I did a Google search for U Haul sties closest to me I got 3 that were very close to me including the Shell station which was only .4 mile from my house. I specifically asked your rep about the one that was close but it wasn't listed in your data base. I find this unacceptable and once I realized what was happening I canceled they reservation and made the one that served MY PURPOSES rather than gave U Haul undeserved profits. there was an issue getting my truck. the site was not prepared and didnt have one ready for me when i arrived even though i made my reservation over a week in advance. they tell you can just drop the keys off when you return it but they dont tell you, you will be charged for not doing the self check in. then the person who works at shell doesnt speak english. then the self check in doesnt work. then they charged me an extra day when they shouldnt have. i asked for a refund and they refunded me less than what they owed me. then i asked for the right amount and they refunded what they still owed me then a few days later, recharged me. this whole experience was a nightmare.

I have already called customer service and they took notes. 1. Vehicle was not where it was supposed to be. 2. Clerk skipped my check in process. 3. Made me 45 minutes late because truck was wedged behind the store in between other cars and trucks and used tires. 4. The dolly was not in the truck. 5. The straps were not in the truck. 6. The brakes gave out on a hill and caused an accident. I will never use U-Haul again and I will most likely be filing a lawsuit against you.

I understand the limited space available but I came back and ended up parking on the sidewalk right similar to where I picked up my rental and they told me I had to move but everywhere that there was a uhaul that morning was blocked by cars and was then told I needed to go park it on the street and had to parallel park it in the most difficult space possible.

I returned my van within my allotted time, but because it wasn't entered into the system until 30 minutes later, a $50+ charge was added to the account. Had to call today to get it resolved which was frustrating and a waste of my time.

I recommend you do the process on your smartphone, before you go to the location or on your way there. Now, if you don't have the phone or don't know how to do it; you better go early I mean 1/2 to 40 min before your reservation. Good luck.

I've rented from this location twice in the past month and 3x total in the last year and have had a rough experience each time. The gentleman who owns the station, presumable, was present each time and is extremely difficult and aggresive. Refused to assist us and forced us to use the app, even during regular hours, but the app checkout did not work becuase our truck wasn't even on site. Upon return he suggested we park 4 blocks away even though there were parking slots at the station - should have aided us in checking out and managed his fleet of trucks on his own. Very dissapointed, would not reccomend, will not return. Have warned friends of this location.

They promise a Van, they only had two trucks, I had to take what they had, no help a very rude on the pick and worst on the delivery 🚚 You kind of on your on ... screaming 🙀 😱 Drop the truck on double line while they were fighting with a motorcycle guy .... I will not rent from this location ever again

You didn't have the dolly I requested, which made the move much harder. It also took an extremely long time to check in and check out, considering I already did the online check-in. I would like a refund for the missing dolly because we couldn't even use the one that was provided. Also some sort of reduction would seem fair given that it really impacted the move.

I filled out paperwork online and then had to fill out the same paperwork again at pickup. I also got there 10 minutes early and it took 15 minutes to get everything sorted out.

I reserved my truck for 7am and the place didnt open until 9. I wasted 2 hours of my day and had to finish my move way in to the evening. WHy would you allow a 7am reservation if the place isnt open and dont allow app pickup? (which i tried)

Truck had service light on for low tire pressure and tire monitor failure when I picked it up. Not a big deal, but probably should be looked into. Staff is nice and rental process of efficient. Check your contract, even though I declined the insurance online, it showed up on contract and I missed it.

The van I had reserved was unavailable. There were 2 vans on site but not in the computer system. I was stuck with renting a larger more expensive truck I did not need. Customer service was polite and kind but I made a reservation and was not provided with the service I reserved.

Why does the location offer 24/7 service when it clearly does not serve customers after hours? The gas station clerk had to start my reservation for me. The truck itself was okay, except for a huge water/coolant leak into the passenger side floor.

The location is very convenient, safe and clean. However, it may have been a busy time for U-Haul, when I picked up the van, because it took over 30 minutes to get approved for my mobile pickup. This is really too long to consider the process efficient, especially when I arrived on time.

Everything was great except that the van was not wiped down inside, since we are in the age of covid, high-touch areas and the overall interior (driver and passenger area) should be clean between each use. It wasn't dirty but it didn't look covid clean. The staff was great though, everyone was pleasant and helpful.

They need to have staff that is knowledgeable about renting out the trucks. Upon arriving the person i spoke to did not advise me on important issues that i needed to know. And after returning the truck the same individual wasn't there and i spoke to another person that was giving me attitude. I even told another lady that the truck was dirty and she said that wasn't her problem. With Covid-19 going around they should have given me a clean truck and they should be worried about having clean trucks. And i didn't mention that the truck they showed me at first was clean and when i came back to pick it up they gave me a different dirty truck. I was not happy with the experience at all.

Van was dirty - dirty gloves, water bottles, paper towels, contracts from prior customers in van. Was not wiped down and sanitized. Van exterior was in very poor condition with many of the dings and dents not notated either on pictures or on the van itself.

You could make the waiting time (in order to pick up the UHaul) MUCH SHORTER! Waiting an hour and 15 minutes for something which was reserved two days ahead of time is inexcusable! Also, the emergency break on my vehicle (10 foot truck) wouldn't release easily, and I needed help from a complete stranger as I was absolutely stuck in the middle of the street with hundreds of people beeping and swearing at me. DEFINITELY there needs to be more attention paid to upkeep and maintenance of the vehicles.

The app was not allowing me to locate my truck because it said the station was not open yet. The gas station manager was not offering much help. It ended up working when he did something on his computer; maybe signed in to declare the store open? I had to go back and forth from the truck to the gas station because the key was with the manager. It was like a scavenger hunt where I had to figure out all the clues as to how to get the keys and start using the truck. I remember renting was easier when I just had sign some papers, paid, and got my keys.

The pickup was great truck was extremely clean. I brought my truck back 3.5 hours before my scheduled drop off time. When I asked the gas station attendant where to leave the truck he told me I had to find street parking, which is not possible in this area. When I tried to explain and find a compromise he began shouting about how I was going to be towed and charged if I didn't find legal street parking. He told me to leave it on the corner of the lot and as I got out after putting it in the only open slot he again was yelling and telling me I needed to wait for a privately owned vehicle who was parked in a seperate space to return and move when he was done taking a shit. Instead of dealing with someone shouting at me I left the key on the gas station desk and left it locked in the lot

Service was rude and abrupt. I was given the wrong keys. ‘Check engine light' was on during my entire rental. Water poured out of the AC unit during driving. I was over-charged for gas (it wasn't full when I took it out and the attendant told me only to fill it back up to the level it started at.)

This location was terrible. The employees were very rude, not helpful at all. The truck did the job and worked great but the lazy workers made the experience not worth it.

The employees at the location were very unprofessional. They cashier was arguing with a guy that had bought some empanadas and was using a lot of sauce and the cashier was yelling at him. Took me over 30 mins to get the keys.

This was the WORST U-Haul experience I have ever had. This has most likely made U-Haul lose business with me, as there are now many options to use. First, I made my reservation to be picked up on June 24, 2020 at 3:30. I had arranged for movers to meet me at my apartment, paid fees, etc. I use the mobile reservation because it would “easier” and when I went to get the reservation, I get that a response that I need to go when the location is open, as I'm standing in the location. So, the attendant at the gas station tells me to wait, so I do for ten minutes, then tells me that the U-Haul location is called and refused to help me. I then call U-Haul to get a response and after being on hold for 10 minutes, I'm bounced around on the phone and then am told that the location is actually open and I need to hang up. So, I finally get another attendant to help me, who then has me press through everything on my phone and fly through steps in order for him to give me a key. This results in me buying insurance I did not want to purchase, get a truck that has less fuel than what is claimed to be in, and wasn't the cleanest. I then get to the truck and it is blocked by 3 other trucks. I have to wait until I can find this attendant again to move the trucks. We are finally at an hour and a half after I've scheduled movers to meet me, out paying each mover money to wait, and am on a time crunch. This is highly exceptable and has made me absolutely lose my trust with this company. My $40 rental has now cost me $200+ because of this place's negligence.

I got the same vehicle last week and this week. It is the right side of the mirror is broken. Nobody fixed it even if I left feedback for the first time when I get the same vehicle. So this mirror is important. Unfortunately, I had to drive the vehicle without a small right-side mirror last week and this week.
