Terrible customer service, poor quality equipment, and overcharged for fuel EVEN AFTER requesting someone call me to discuss and ALSO calling the 1-800 number. Instead of providing any sort of guidance, the rude southern man on the line transferred me directly to the location, where the gas station attendant told me that 'the Uhaul girl' was too busy to talk, and to call back. I called back three times that day and no one picked up because Uhaul is a joke and I will never use them again.Justin P.

I selected contactless service but was instructed to pick up the key from the attendant. It was unclear which attendant I was supposed to go to and it turned out to be an employee that looked and dressed like a customer. I was instructed to drop the key off in a drop box but there was no drop box to be found so I gave it back to one of the station attendants.Thomas M.

Convenient location for us. Uhaul rep was a little hard to find inside the gas station. Other than that no issues!SHANNON T.
There were so many complications with this process that it made the move way more difficult. First of all, we were told all Uhauls are open til 10 pm. The one we returned the truck to closes at 5 on Sundays, so we had to use the complicated online drop off process. We were not told that we would need a smartphone to return the truck after hours. I do not have smart phone, and my son, who was driving the truck, finally managed to access the link but since he cannot take photos on his phone, he could not continue. We spent an extra 45 minutes dealing with this ridiculous process because it was assumed that everyone has a smartphone. Customers should be given all the information they need so they are not spending extra time during the very difficult process of long distance moving. There were also complications regarding the truck size- we requested a 20', and they gave us a 26', which was not useful because we cannot park that size truck where we live, and we planned to unload the next day. This cost extra time and stress trying to get the truck size reduced. Uhaul assumed, again, that a 26' would do, instead of contacting us before they reserved the truck. Also, it is extremely difficult to call, via telephone, and speak to someone who knows about the issues. I had to speak with 4 different people and be transferred and wait on hold for long periods before I actually spoke to a woman who knew what she was doing. I would say Uhaul at this site needs to greatly improve communication, and realize that not everyone is computer literate or has a smartphone. All in all this was a terribly stressful process.NOAH P.
When choosing to pick up before hours please make sure the vehicle is equip with the appliances needed the night before. Make sure the U-Haul agent has access to the keys for the appliances. Also make sure your agents do not give out check engine light vehicles to customers .Symphanie V.

Are you serious about improving? You totally lied! I took truck in 1 hour when I had!!! My truck wasn't ready! Equipment wasn't ready! I was on line more then 30 min. I reserved to pick up at 4 pm! But got truck and not correct equipment at 5 pm!!! And you charge me for this hour! And you told about improving. Hell it doesn't work! Just words...Ruslan Z.

Only one issue. Rental was after a snow storm, I think the vehicle could have been dug out and ready for pick up, as it was reserved, I had to wait for the vehicle to be shoveled out: messed with my time.Susan S.
The staff at this pickup location were super unprepared and just did not care about the customer. I also paid for a Utility dolly and they didn't have one anywhere so I would love for that money to be refunded to me. I order mu van on the phone at 1599 Lexington I arrived and they told me the guy left at 12!!!! I had to call and rush at the Broadway location It cost me 20 $with via. I was furiousLure S.
Not a single staff member at this location was wearing a facemask, despite current city guidelines requiring them. The furniture pads I reserved were not available. The UHaul was parked so close to a stack of tires that I had to wedge myself between them and crack the door open just to barely be able to fit in (I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs, so not even that large of a person where this was a reasonable distance to require someone to squeeze through to access a vehicle). The person who assisted me at the pick up was very friendly and explained the process to me very well. I felt good taken care of. Now to a complaint, but this isn't for the pick up location but for u-haul as a company. Your trucks, are not well made for all types of people. I am pretty short, which isn't a problem in itself as I always make sure to bring a pillow to sit on, but your side mirrors can't be adjust well enough for me to see properly. i adjust them as well as I can, but that is exactly at the tipping point where the mirror automatically "snaps back" into another position. It doesn't feel a 100 % safe and it always makes me rethink using u-haul. Make sure you introduce trucks in the future with other types of side mirrors so everyone can feel like they can hire from your company. MerciElin K.

This Shell station U-Haul did a great job. However, I must say that prior to speaking with and going with them I had tried to schedule with them through your main switchboard. I was told that the nearest store to me was in Park Slope which would have necessitated a 15 mile drive to my house which I moving out of with attendant mileage charges. Yet, when I did a Google search for U Haul sties closest to me I got 3 that were very close to me including the Shell station which was only 0,4 mile from my house. I specifically asked your rep about the one that was close but it wasn't listed in your data base. I find this unacceptable and once I realized what was happening I canceled they reservation and made the one that served MY PURPOSES rather than gave U Haul undeserved profits. there was an issue getting my truck. the site was not prepared and didnt have one ready for me when i arrived even though i made my reservation over a week in advance. they tell you can just drop the keys off when you return it but they dont tell you, you will be charged for not doing the self check in. then the person who works at shell doesnt speak english. then the self check in doesnt work. then they charged me an extra day when they shouldnt have. i asked for a refund and they refunded me less than what they owed me. then i asked for the right amount and they refunded what they still owed me then a few days later, recharged me. this whole experience was a nightmare.Haydee V.

I have already called customer service and they took notes. 1. Vehicle was not where it was supposed to be. 2. Clerk skipped my check in process. 3. Made me 45 minutes late because truck was wedged behind the store in between other cars and trucks and used tires. 4. The dolly was not in the truck. 5. The straps were not in the truck. 6. The brakes gave out on a hill and caused an accident. I will never use U-Haul again and I will most likely be filing a lawsuit against you.Joshua G.

I understand the limited space available but I came back and ended up parking on the sidewalk right similar to where I picked up my rental and they told me I had to move but everywhere that there was a uhaul that morning was blocked by cars and was then told I needed to go park it on the street and had to parallel park it in the most difficult space possible.Tyler T.

I've rented from this location twice in the past month and 3x total in the last year and have had a rough experience each time. The gentleman who owns the station, presumable, was present each time and is extremely difficult and aggresive. Refused to assist us and forced us to use the app, even during regular hours, but the app checkout did not work becuase our truck wasn't even on site. Upon return he suggested we park 4 blocks away even though there were parking slots at the station - should have aided us in checking out and managed his fleet of trucks on his own. Very dissapointed, would not reccomend, will not return. Have warned friends of this location.ADRIELELIZABETH M.

You didn't have the dolly I requested, which made the move much harder. It also took an extremely long time to check in and check out, considering I already did the online check-in. I would like a refund for the missing dolly because we couldn't even use the one that was provided. Also some sort of reduction would seem fair given that it really impacted the move.DAVIDANTHONY R.
