Steele's Hardware was Great, but U-Haul was another story. I was renting a truck for two days starting at 8 am and was told that a U-Haul representative would contact me, but they Never did. I had to contact them Three times to confirm my truck. Then hen it was the day to pick up the truck, the previous customer stood with the truck Longer, a lot longer, like 6 hours longer. Then U-Haul automatically cancelled my reservation and I almost lost my reservation. Ultimately, I had to start moving my house after picking the truck up in the evening, at around 6 pm, which was Very inconvenient..Brian C.

The U Haul vehicle I had reserved on line was not available at the dealership for U Haul so they gave me what was available for the same cost, even though it was bigger. Which I thought was very nice.Susan V.
I had set up a 24/7 truck share, however this site doesn't seem to honor it. I had to go I to the store to get the keys and pick up the truck. I paid in advance for an appliance dolly which was not in the truck as promised, so I had to go back into the store a second time. This all after the original truck I rented was no longer available and had to settle for a smaller truck which caused me to need to make more trips costing me more miles and gas. The truck itself was pretty beaten. The drivers side mirror was cracked, and the cargo area was dirty even though there was a sign there reminding me to sweep up the truck before returning it or face a penalty. Upon returning the truck, I couldn't use the app to return it, it was not accepting the photo of the odometer and fuel gauge. Not sure if that was app related or site related. I unexpectedly needed to rent a van for the day and my local Uhaul branch was all booked but they reserved one for me at the Tannersville branch and I was able to accomplish my move on such short notice. Adel at the East Stroudsburg branch went out of his way to help me find a van and Walter at Tannersville were very helpful, efficient and professional.JORGE M.

The truck was not available when I reserved it, although I was told it would be. I had to make 2 trips to the store to pick it up and the app would not allow me to pick it up using the 24/7 app. I contacted customer service had a 1 hour wait time on the phone only to be hung up on. The experience was not great customer service should be the first priority for u-haul and it's not.Paul F.
Location wasn't the problem. I rented thru the 24/7 mobile. It was the worst experience ever. First my driver's license didn't get accepted so I had to give a friends name and number so uhaul can call to verify me. It was 6 am. Most people are sleeping. I got lucky and my old landlord was awake. After I got verified they gave me a code to a lock box to get my keys. The code didn't work. The online chat operator was the most unprofessional person to deal with so I called the 1-833 number. I had to wait 88 mins on hold only to get hung up on. So I called back and I got thru to a nice lady but I felt like she was stalling until the location I was at opened. Once the location opened they took care of everything. I had only rented the van for four hours but they extended it for 24 hours. The location was fine it was the process that was the problem. I just wanted to say how easy it was to rent the vehicle. The staff was great they had my reservation the truck was ready and clean. The truck was in great condition. When i returned the truck it took ten minutes they finalized the bill and I was done. I would recommend them to anyone whois looking to rent a truck for a moveChristopher M.

The uhaul app and return process was terrible. I was unable to submit my photos of the odometer and gas Guage and move forward with the return process. This led me to have to call customer service and wait 30 minutes for an associate. Overall the return took me an hour and should have only 5 minutes.JAMES E.

I asked for 3 days. And told them I will pick up truck at 3:00 pm. I was then called and told if I don't grab it at 12pm they will rent it to someone else. So I grabbed it and asked so I can return it later on mon for event clean up. They said yes. On Monday I gave a call to ask if around if I return it after 5 will it be ok when the man on the phone says. We need it by 11 am or you will be charged a extra day! I told him I have it for Monday just making sure It wouldn't be 4 days. He told me he needs it by 11 am because it was for another customer. And they will be angry. I told him that wasn't what I was told. He says we need it by 11 no exceptions. I told him not possible it's a couple hrs out. This was at 10 am mind you reader... So he said tough luck for me as the next guy will be upset. And I was like your current customer is now upset to which he said "I don't wish to speak with you on the phone anymore you will be charged." Hanged up!!! Honestly some of the staff were great when I was there but this just made me mad. I will not use Uhaul near my business again. Also I was charged exactly what I asked about for when I said 3 days. Customer relations need some work. Only a few good ones. That one a rotten one.Gregory Q.
If I use the web app for the entire process and get messages relating to my pick up and it being confirmed.. why wouldn't I get a message or emailed receipt? I needed it not only for records but it was late I'm tired from moving and did not fully know if I checked in or if it did not process all the way. We all have enough to worry about. Do not Guarantee a reservation to customers when that guarantee depends solely on the previous customer bring the truck back. I had guarenteed reservation but when I showed up no truck. Previous customer was in another state with it. Then im sent to another location where after complaining about not having my truck the district manager found a truck and made my reservation. I pull in and see a 20' truck. I go speak with rep in store and he tells me i have no reservation and they do not have 20' truck. I tell him yes there is a 20' truck he says no. I called district manager again he tells me to tell rep to look my reservation is there and the DM tells him there is a 20' truck. Rep says no reservation no truck. This is comical. I hand phone to rep to talk to DM he tells rep to refresh his computer screen. Guess what. My reservation appears and his screen shows there is 20' truck on his lot. DM was good guy and very helpful and the truck was great but the rest of it not good at all. Embarrassing for Uhaul..May D.
The two gentleman behind the counter made things extremely easy for me. They even offered me some rope to help with the move, and let me keep it afterwards. Very nice and funny guys, they definitely make renting a uhaul a painless experience.Robert K.

I reserved a truck online using the Truck Share 24 program for 6AM. I received emails instructing me to sign up on the app, upload my license and all other steps required. I received 2 separate emails confirming my reservation and that when I arrived, I can use the app to start my process to receive the keys from the lock box. When I arrived on my scheduled day and tried to retrieve my rental, the app said I have to wait 2 hours until the store opened. That delay caused me to be stuck in rush hour traffic both ways, it cost me an additional 2 hours pay for people who were hired to help load the truck as well as inconvenience people who were waiting for me. Had I known, I could not pick up the truck at the time I needed (6am) I would not have used Uhaul. I will never use Uhaul again! This is not Steele's Hardware's fault....this is all on Uhaul as their online system failed me.LEONARD B.

Have straps available for the rear wheels, not just for the front wheels on the full car haulers. Otherwise it was a great experience. They hooked up the trailer to my hitch, connected the lights and the same when I came back.Edgar G.

There were no clear signage outside as to what building the U-Haul service was in. I reserved two hand carts which were removed from my order without notifying me. The attendant was rude about it, and made no effort to tell me where else handcarts could be attained. The inside of the van (passenger cabin and cargo) was dirty. It looked like it had not been cleaned for years, and mud caked up on the floor. The outside of the van similarly was covered in dirt. The inside of the van also smelled like cigarette smoke. The "oil change" indicator was on. I have used U-Haul services in multiple locations in Philly and Montgomery County, and this is the worst condition and service that I have ever received from U-Haul. Only issue I had was I rented 2 trucks on two weekends in a row and the only issue was 2hen I returned them thru the app it tried to recharge me for the full amount instead of 5he difference. For example the 2nd truck I paid the 69 $for truck and 30 miles and when I returned they tried to charge me 105 $instead of just the difference for the 22 miles 35 $until I disputed it. Worst experience ever. Uhaul texted me when I made the reservation that it was at a location off of Milford rd. Within the Week that I booked it, uhaul changed the location and did NOT notify me. Did not call text or email me. I drove 40 mins to the location off of Milford rd just to drive 30 mins to the location in tannersville. I am not satisfied with this experience. This is supposed to make moving easier and at this point I should have borrowed a friends truck. Considering it added 1 hour and half on tinder my time. And also made it so THREE of my movers had to leave. And I ended up having to do all the moving with just myself and one other person. Definitely not what I had in mind. Once I finally arrived to location in tannersville those employees were great. Sad that uhaul sucked so much.Thomas H.
