The truck was clean. It was also extremely loud and sounded as if there was a definite exhaust problem. Luckily my move was local, so I was only in the cab for a limited amount of time. Anything more than about 15 minutes in the cab would have been a nightmare otherwise. The truck also did not have any blankets available in the rental pouch inside the storage bag.Matt G.

Honestly the trucks were rundown. The uhaul I rented had clear damage to the body of the truck and hadn't been maintained. I literally got stranded for a half hour just trying to get the ignition to turn over.Rachel H.

The website is not user friendly at all. After logging in to my uhaul account, I could not locate the â€œstartâ€ link in order to begin checking out the uhaul electronically. Why is this not simple to find? Your website needs an update! It is anything but user friendly. Trying to check the uhaul out electronically was a nightmare! Bernard and the other staff were great! Very friendly, caring and helpful. Amazing in this day in age. One issue was pouring rain during our move is allowed to seep into the bed of the truck snd soaked our mattress causing a large permanent stain and also damaged some wood items stored on that same area. This was the area to the left nearest the cab, drivers side.William B.

I ordered an appliance dolly which I really needed as I was moving from a 3rd floor apt. When I asked the man behind the counter about it, he told me they didn't have any. He suggested I drive to another location to see if they had one available. He didn't even offer to call around for me. I ended up borrowing one from a friend which was not nearly the size I needed. Needless to say this was a tough move. I hope to never have to rent another truck but if I do, it won't be at this location.Patrice B.

The location was superb. I had an after hours drop off that I couldn't get the app to work properly for. I called the 800 number for Uhaul three times, was told three completely different things, waited on hold once for over 30 Milan's no one picked up, and the last person had an attitude and said she couldn't really help, I had to call the site. Next morning called the site, Bianca had me squared away in less than 3 minutes. My suggestion is to get customer service operator that are educated on how to help the customer and not give them the run around! Three hours with your CS and nothing at all was accomplished other than me wasting more gas to drive back to the drop off site to try to get the app to work again. Three minutes with Bianca and it was done. Maybe she could help out with the CS training.Melanie B.

This was my first time renting a UHaul from this location. I usually rent from Marshall St location in Winston-Salem(and I have had zero issues with that location). My 19,95 $ plus mileage rental wound up costing me 69,69 $. The tank was on 7/8 when I picked up the van. I drove it 39 miles. I stopped at the Speedway that is two-tenths of a mile from this Uhaul location and got 1,9 gallons of gas. I confirmed that the needle was back at 7/8 and returned the van. There was another customer in the store so I dropped off the key and the employee said that she would check the van in and email my receipt to me. When I checked my receipt I saw that she noted that the van had 3/4 of a tank of gas and she charged me 12,75 $ for 3 gallons of gas. I called the location and spoke to her about this. She said that the fact that I have a receipt for the gas I bought does not mean that the tank wasn't at 3/4 when I turned the van in. I pointed out that I only drove 39 miles so how is it possible that I put 2 gallons of gas in and the tank was only at 3/4. She told me that it's a large vehicle and uses a lot of gas. This is nonsense. I did not use 5 gallons of gas to drive 39 miles. In addition to the gas, I was charged a 9,08 $ "rental tax" which seems to be a ridiculous amount given that my 19,95 $ rental rate plus my mileage was 46,86 $--that's like a 20 % tax. I will NEVER rent from this shady location again. If you need a UHaul, get it from somewhere besides Storage Sense!Aimee S.
