I was quoted 99c per kilometre when I reserved the unit online but I was charged $1,59 when I returned the truck. I don't understand why I was quoted one anmount and charged a different amount.

Serta S.Not call last minute and tell me my reservation was bumped from Salmon Arm to Vernon because someone approved a rental extension to the person that was scheduled to return the truck I confirmed in Salmon Arm, I had to drive a total of 4 hours, and spend $100 in fuel PLUS 120km additional mileage expense just to get the unit that should have been available tome in Salmon Arm, only 4km from my home. I called, spoke to customer service, and was told someone would call me back to discuss the additional costs incurred by the change U-Haul made last minute, but no one has contacted me to date.

Donald J.Make sure the vehicle is well maintained and clean at pickup - in my case, no radio (antennae missing) no cruise control, dirty on inside and outside. The unit is nearly impossible to drive on a long trip for a man 6'3" + -- not designed for long range travel - outside of vehicle scratched and dented - time to renew !!
jim P.To start, don't change my rental without my knowledge and charge me for more than double what I had originally agreed to. Second, when I call to explain what's happened and am told that, yes, you did change my contract and will refund me in a certain time period, actually refund me. When I call back after the said time period to inquire as to where my money is and am told that it can actually take 3 times as long as I was originally told, I'm now mad. I will not be using uhaul again. It took seconds to take my money after you changed the deal for no apparent reason, but now it takes up to 15 days to return what you stole? Who does business like this? Never again. I await the return of my stolen money….

Christian C.This location didn't have the items I requested with my truck. The clerk was difficult to deal with, stating that he didn't have the hand cart I requested. Eventually, after some debate the clerk let me take a different model of hand cart. I was told the truck was full of fuel, and the fuel gauge agreed with that statement, but when it came time for me to refill it, it took 25 litres for a 40 mile drive. The clerk just shrugged and said not my problem when I pointed out that it clearly wasn't as full as they said. All in all I will not be using this location again. I will also think twice about using U-Haul in general.

They lied about the amount of gas in the tank, They lied about the mileage They refused to give me a copy of my final billing, they tried to intimidate me, threatened physical harm, and lied about the pickup/return time.

Both I and the man who had also reserved this single piece of equipment arrived at the counter at the same time. Upon hearing the jam I was in, the other man VOLUNTARILY stepped aside and let me have the trailer! This whole situation is unacceptable and YOU NEED TO DO BETTER!!

They never called her to ask her or called the uhaul she works at while she was working to make sure. This is really ridiculous that she couldn't use her discount on the reservation she made.
Alexis B.Employ enough staff to be able to give a Customer a ride, if required.(the van I rented was filthy, damaged and had less than half a tank of fuel for my 600+km's I was traveling) Have the requested vehicle, at the requested location. at the time requested. (I live 5 blocks from the Storage location so I walked, which is why I booked that location, of the three in Town) The Renting Agent told me my vehicle was at Fermco, more than triple the distance. With the price of fuel these days, ($1,79/liter) give your Customer a full tank of gas. By that I mean, ensure the previous Customer brings the Rental back full, show a receipt as proof. I worked for the direct competition for 7 years. Their fuel policy was far superior to U-Haul's. I fueled, washed, inspected and insured Budget's Rental/Moving fleet for 7 years at 4 different locations in the Okanagan. U-Haul's Fleet was a joke comparatively. My experience was poor, but they were the only Game in Town, no one else had trucks. Now I have to return to that Location as I require an additional Cube Van to move my Life. Signed: Disappointed.
