Two trucks with mechanical issues, third truck I ended up with was dirty. Staff was very helpful so not their fault. Had to drive app. 35 miles from home as this was the closest location with the trailer I needed.

Kristine BOn Friday I met Shana, see told me to pick up the Truck Saturday morning at 8am. When I arrived to that location, she was not there...on Friday she did NOT INFORM ME that she would not be there to release the truck to me....instead an old man (the stores' regular employee/cashier had to juggle check-out customers from the store, buying lottery tickets/sodas/gas pump payments,etc.and run the U-Haul computer...to get me on the road. I had told Shana on Friday, that I should be in Pageland S.C. by 10am to meet the Helpers that were waiting to load the truck. She should have told me that she WOULD NOT BE THERE SATURDAY so the old man juggling "convenience store customers and One U-Haul task (who said "I've not been trained on this U-Haul stuff, but I tried learning it on my own cause it's software is easy) . Well, it took him 3 HOURS to get to where he could print a piece of paper for me to sign, before I could get in the truck and meet the Helpers in Pageland. Terrible experience and a 3 hour delay for everyone involved in the moving process.
John AThe "locations" - and I use plural for a reason were inadequate, had no desk times despite their internet saying they did, and no one to answer the phone. The "app" is neither easy, quick, nor convenient. The truck was nearly empty of gas, and being that I was now 3 hours BEHIND schedule with them, I filled the 26 footer full of gas. Turns out, i did over 100 miles less and had 5/8 of fuel left on a truck that had no more than a quarter of a tank in it when I rented it. They would t reimburse or even consider a civilized waiver on the mileage. Because of this, they grossly overcharged me for the use of their truck and this lack of corporate accountability ( both in corporate and at the rental site) enables me to throw the long term relatioship Ive had w uhaul in the trash. Over to Penske and Budget!!
Chris HThe pick up location only had one person familiar with rental process. I arrived at location at an agreed upon time and had to wait ~30 minutes while store attendant walked around the store and called trying to locate the person who could complete the transaction.

Myra MWhen I went to the store to get the truck the person who does the rentals was not there. The girl running the gas station counter was helpful for as much as she could do. I had to call uhaul to get it situated to be able to rent the truck. This was after spending over an hour at the original pickup location in Statesville NC waiting on the person who did the uhaul rentals at the first location and the truck was late on arrival at this location also causing us to have to go to the Tomlin Mill One Stop.
Joseph RTerrible experience. They changed our pickup location to a place 37 miles from our house which led us to have to pick it up the night before at 8pm. There was no light whatsoever while trying to inspect the inside of the truck. The next morning before loading, we discovered it had dirt and mulch in it which we had to clean all out before we could do anything. Also, we ordered 30 blankets and only got 15. We ordered an appliance dolly and when they switched locations on us, it took the dolly off and there wasn't one at our pick up location. It was dreadful all around. Will not use Uhaul again.

don mThe overall experience with uhaul was horrible and unacceptable. It cost me a lot of time and money because the location originally booked truck for was not set up properly and no notice of that before driving to that location. Then having to back track to another location. Highly unacceptable.

Don FAbsolutely nothing(maybe hire another person to help short staffing)! Even tho very busy due to short staffing, Rachel apologized for making me wait. She was with another customer, but it was fine. I didn't have to wait long. Also needed help lifting trailer hitch off of truck hitch, someone came out to do that right away! When I left, Rachel said she would call/email when return complete, as she didn't want to keep me waiting any longer. Within the hour(more like half hour), I got a call from her. Very efficient! Thank you Rachel!

Also asked me to quote mileage and I did but then failed to tell me u wasn't paying for the mileage and one way trips were only 30miles. I quoted then 60, so upon drop off I was being charged extra money AND couldn't pickup my cash deposit.

John BFor trailer anywhere hooking up. Maybe have some type of temporary leg for receiver height setting. Just keep in stores. When customer comes in, lend them temporary leg to hook up. Picking up trailer and trying to hold while hooking up is very hard for a weaker person.
