There were a couple times where technology was not working correctly or just taking longer than the sales person wanted. Printing was a problem once. Inputting information into the tablet was not working and a call for help was needed, delaying the contract informational gathering process.

Burhan B.Only complaint was that I was able to make a confirmed reservation online at a closer Uhaul location, then a day or so before pick-up I got an email that the equipment was not going to be at the reserved location (West Chicago). The new location (Carol Stream) was much further away and an inconvenience for pick-up and drop off. This has happened to me twice in the last year for different locations. Very frustrating that that happens after a confirmed and successful reservation. On the flipside, the team at the Carol Stream location was great to work with and very, very helpful. Merci.

Robert K.The people at the location were very helpful at the counter and did all the work to hook up the trailer. Very pleased with the service. I had trouble with the online uhaul order. I input 24 hours and it wanted to charge me for 25 hours ( 2 days). reservation verses confirmation was confusing. All the upsells were quite annoying. Charge more and have qualified, live people, such as at the location, would be my recommendation.

Ian P.Communication issue on both sides. We didn't know we were taking the tollway and they didn't tell us we would have to pay for tolls. This site is not a U-haul site. We went through 2 tolls. I asked if we were responsible for them after we got back. We had to go through a process to pay the tolls.
David S.I had general question and gene who said was from corporate told me that me asking questions was with sarcasm just because I asked can I get a walk around with one of them to make sure the truck was good. Anything I asked was a problem and was told numerous of times that they can just cancel my reservation. I asked if I can pay with cash? Gene and Becca said no but you can cancel reservations. It was a general question… gene even told me I can cancel because how you ask questions are sarcastic I asked is this how you talk to customers. I feel the level of professionalism is horrible or maybe because of my ethnicity I was racially profiled. Becca snatched paper work from me because I asked her to release the break of the truck and she also told me would you like to cancel because you seem not to know how to work the vehicle. Mind you it was not busy it was early in the morning I was the only customer. I feel that how they treated me was poorly. I'm a woman also mentioned to gene after he made his comments how it offended me he then said I'm just a sarcastic person because I wanted clarification on renting the U-Haul. I wouldn't recommend this location. I'm very disappointed in the customer service. They also charge me for a dolly and didn't have one knowing they didn't I asked why not just take it off they made it such a big problem that they had to call somebody to remove the fee! Horrible I will never which is bad and a inconvenience it's so close to my house. Gene has no respect for women yet alone a woman with color!

But Thanks to Justin and Beca all worked out. They were friendly, professional and kind. Due to their customer service we not only had good move, but we will be renting a storage space. What could have been a disaster turn out well because of Juston and Beca.
TED T.Keys were not in the box they were supposed to be. so I had to wait over an hour to get my truck costing me $250 because I had a crew of people standing around for hours that I payed for. I was supposed to get 2 dozen moving blankets they were not in the truck but I was billed for them. I would like someone from uhaul to contact me about these items
Chris R.The entrance door is poorly marked The drop off area is poorly marked Staff just took my keys and said I will get an electronic copy of the check out and I was all set. They never checked me out. I had to call and ask them why I didnt receive my receipt and they said they had not received the truck - had been on their property for 24 hours - "oh sorry". Make sure you ask them to give you your check out receipt.

I was not charged for the 18 blankets that were missing. I needed 24 blankets, or I wouldn't have rented them. Please don't use terms like “guaranteed “ if you are unable to do that.
Al W.The app based pick-up kept loosing its internet connection at the site. What should have taken 10-15 minutes, took an hour. Also, the seal between the cab and the box was leaking. We had to drive in a few rain showers and water kept running in and down our shoulder harnesses - soaking our shoulders and back. Finally, the rear door cable on the right side came off its spool making it very difficult to close the rear door.

John S.The app is not very good. If you are in the middle of something on the app it can erase all your work if you accidentally push back.
Paul B.I was returning a 15' truck and a car carrier. The drop off area was pretty narrow and I wasn't comfortable backing up very far. Perhaps someone familiar with the facility and maneuvering a truck/trailer could have parked and separated them for us.

Mark M.Overall everything was great 5 out of 5, from the customer service at the front desk to picking up the car. My only suggestion is to have better signage on finding the key Dropbox. I figured it was by the front door, but I had to drive around the whole building to find it on the back end corner of the building. Which I had missed a couple times because I had dropped off the truck at night time and there wasn't much light around.
Enrique G.Be more specific on the location of the lockbox (i.e., SW corner). I ended walking around the entire building. Also, please provide lockbox video instructions PRIOR to pick-up. Gaining access to the lockbox was NOT intuitive.

Mesele G.The bed of the truck was covered in broken plastic pieces, the person that used it before us obviously had something break and didn't clean it up nor did this location so I had to clean someone else's mess. I also got the truck and it had next to no gas, I had to hurry up to a gas station.
Taryn S.If the dozens of times I've used U-Haul it's pretty much always bad but in different ways. I keep hoping someone will come along and disrupt the company but the network is already so strong. This time I tried to use the app to check in but it kept glitching. My friend got a text that they would call her to verify but then never did. Like ever. Then the office I needed to get the keys from were closed for an hour so I just hung out and paid hourly for movers that did nothing waiting on me. Then the app kept glitching and gave me an error message to “try again later†when I returned it. (I have the screen shot). So I just dropped the keys in the box and left. I'm assuming they'll charge me extra for something like usually. But what choice do we really have other than U-Haul. The location was fine. Its never the locations fault. They were nice enough. It's always U-Haul. Just a terrible service with no real competitors with any real market share to make them change the crappy job they do. And yep, I'll use them again. Cause what else will I do.
