This particular location IS excellent. I always want to do business at this location. However, the redesigned U Haul app makes that impossible. On this particular rental, the U Haul app scheduled my pick up for 5050 Fairmont Ave in Abilene, TX. (Fairmont is only about half a mile away from U-Haul Moving and Storage on S. Clack Ave.) When we arrived at the pick up location, we saw that it was a self-serve storage facility that was completely locked up and unmanned. There was a 10 ft. truck sitting on the street, but there was not a person on site to hand me a key. So we drove around the block to the 826 S. Clack Street location to request help. They called the U Haul schedulers and told them to transfer the rental. That was done fairly quickly. Today when I returned the truck, I tried to use the U Haul app to check it in. The page wouldn't open; in fact it wouldn't even load. Until 2023, I never had a problem with your app. It was one of the best I used. Now it's buggy and doesn't allow me to choose the location I want. Please consider returning to the previous software. This customer, and I'm sure many others, would be happier. The contract includes my contact information. I would be pleased to discuss this situation in greater detail.

Really hard to get to off I 20. The GPS takes you way around and then on capitol street. Then back to frontage road. I pulled up. Not sure where to leave trailer. Had to follow u haul guy all way inside to adk the person at desk what to do. She said go back out by green tent and wait. He went out right behind me and finally helped me.

Very upset I filed a complaint after leaving I was charged for cleaning even though trailer was clean I have videos the worker did not remove trailer he walked away and u was forced to do it . I am asking that the employee be fired. This is no way I would expect U-Haul to represent themselves. I have rented numerous times from this location with no issues. Totally disgusted. I'm expecting a phone call back from management with how they handle the situation. Credit back on my card is minimum, the employee needs to be either fired or reprimanded

The place is a shit show. Trailer required repairs before departure by a nasty attitude line mechanic that likely couldn't pass a drug test. SO GREATFUL IT WAS A ONE WAY MOVE!!

Installer was great. My only complaint is that a 7-pin connector was not able to be installed. Otherwise, the service was great and they gave the Jim Ned Volunteer Fire Department a great price.

Was told there was an elevator to access 2nd floor this is not true at all. I had to carry everything upstairs without access to a dolly because I would have had to rent one. When moving out I went and purchased a dolly so I could move my stuff down stairs. When I asked about an elevator they said the did not have one.

Had outside storage for a year and 95 % of the time my unit was blocked by rental trucks so always had to ask to get them moved to acces my unit staff is nice and friendly but lack of access to the unit when I needed it didn't happen

We reserved the truck with no issue. When we went to pick up the 26 foot truck during non-business hours is when the problem happened. It took us 45 minutes to get the three digit code so that we could get the key for the truck. The emergency number listed was not convenient as the person didn't return my text or my phone call. The website is not user-friendly. It was frustrating to navigate the website to find the correct tabs to request a three digit code for the lockbox. We called the 800 number and the representative, Courtney, was very helpful. We were on a time restraint, therefore was an hour behind schedule due to this inconvenience. We need to rent a 17 foot truck this coming weekend but we are leery of the process.

The pricing for this tiny storage unit was outrageous. The storage didn't even have any light we had to use our own flashlights every time we went in. The prices are horrible for the little amount of space you get. I'll never recommend this place to anybody.

Every time I use this location, the females behind the counter know more than males. The male has to ask the female how to fill in the blanks on the computer. Mike, I think that is his name, attached the wrong RV to my vehicle. I'm the one that caught the error. He said he would have the female inside, to change the RV # on the computer. Mike didn't check my lights after connecting the wiring. I drove off the lot and thought I had better check the lights, so I pulled over and did so. I'm an over the road truck driver so I know how important it is to check the lights to make sure they are operating. My reservation was for RV 3703 G, I ended up with RV 3870 D. RV 3970 D should be retired. I had difficulty opening and closing the trailer door. If opened to far, the locking mechanism hangs up on the top edge of the trailer. So I had to push the door inward in order to start closing the door. It was not easy to roll the door up or down. It rolls up or down unevenly. In all the years that I have used your trailers I have never had a bad experience until this time. I will continue to use U-Haul whenever I need a trailer or a truck.

The storage unit was excellent and I was very happy to see that my stuff was safe and sound, now the uhaul Truck I rented for 6 hrs the brakes where very noisy and the reverse light on the left back off the truck kept going off. I was lied to by the person that booked the storage unit from UHaul. I told him that we have a 400lb fridge that we are storing and asked the rep about a down stairs unit. He told me that he only has an upstairs but the Facility has elevators to help you get it upstairs. When we got to the storage unit, we learned there was no storage elevator. I drove 5 hours to find out that I was lied to. Not having any other option by either driving 10 hours (5 to take it back and 5 to drive back to Abilene) or now spend $140 a month for a storage unit. The lady that helped me at the actual facility was nice and helpful as she could be. It was very sad that a rep had to lie to upsell me.

Overall it would be convenient if you didn't have to work around all the trucks & trailers parked in front of the doors to go into no where to park for one's needing in the storage area. I was thankful that my storage was on bottom floor since there was no elevators or ramps to second floor. And honestly for the size of my storage room the price was a little high and only reason I chose uhaul is it was free first month. As far as security it is well secure and well lit. I don't know that I would rent there again because I can rent the same size for more than half the price

I wish the unit I reserved online had mentioned it was awkward shaped. It's almost a triangle shaped in stead of boxed shape as I had pictures. It's going to be hard to store my items.

I could never get through to this location to make payments. Every time I called I got the center and they could never get me directly through. My parents were sent a certified letter to me that stated if I did not pay by July 1 my unit would go up for auction. With the pandemic and me being in South Dakota I was not able to afford nor retrieve my items and storage.

After renting a U-Haul & you people saying I never did you towed U-Haul back to Abilene with everything I owned & that was wrong. Since I lost my dad, my son & I've been in the hospital dying with cancer.

Made a reservation online a week before and confirmed with 3 employees over the phone. I drive 4 hours to Abilene and i'm told there's no reservation for me. The worker proceeds to treat me as if I don't know what i'm talking about (he did so with the woman before me as well) making belittling comments. Once I finally was able to access a unit, there were stains all over the floor and it was 90 degrees in the facility. We were also unaware that there are no elevators here even with advertising of 2-3 bedroom storage.

Easy to set up a storage unit. Lots of carts to move stuff in. The two stage keypad entry is clunky, but manageable. Second floor really needs a freight elevator. Fortunately my unit is on the ground floor so i do not have to carry my stuff up a flight of stairs.

I made an online reservation for a 5' x 5' x 4' Locker for $44,95 on April 5, 2021 with a move in date of May 8, 2021 for my daughter to store her personal items from her college dorm during the summer. When my daughter went to take her things to the UHaul on the afternoon of May 8, 2021, she was told that all of these units were already taken and that aa reservation doesn't "reserve" a storage locker but that it was first come first serve. The only storage locker available was a 5' x 10' x 8', which was $79,99 a month. When we asked about changing the price due to the reservation, we were told to speak to a manager. After over 20 attempts to call the manager and leaving voice messages on both his cell phone and at the store, we had to drive 4 hours to the location in order to speak to anyone about this situation and we still have not spoken to the manager of the store. This is the worst location I have ever dealt with in the 22 years of using Uhaul during my military service.

I reserved a 5' x 5' x 4' Locker on April 5, 2021 with a May 8, 2021 move in date and Monthly Rate of $44.95, to store my personal items from my college dorm for the summer. When I showed up to this location on May 8, 2021 at 4pm, I was told that all of the lockers of this size were already sold and was given the option of 5' x 10' Storage Room at a monthly rate $79 or nothing. When I asked about my reservation, I was told that regardless of the reservation it was first come first serve. I have never heard that this policy was used by U-Haul and it would negate the policy of using reservations to "hold" a storage room. After waiting 2 hours, there was only 1 representative working at this time when this location was extremely busy and the representative stopped helping me and made me wait until she had helped the other 7 customers in the store before handling my situation. She ended up giving me the 5' x 10' Storage Room with 1 month free and no solution for June, July, and August.

When I went to the storage building it was full of a previous person trash left behind. They then had to clean it out so I could unload the truck I had rented from y'all. Next there is a giant mud hole the size of 5 parking spots right in front of my storage building. I left word that you can't get into my unit with out walking in 4" deep water. Hopefully y'all get this taken care of soon.

* No clear instruction on how to gain access to unit before arriving at facility. Had to stand in line for literally an hour (only two other customers ahead of me) to speak to an employee while my moving labor waited outside on the clock. * Employee claimed the online reservation process was pointless, as they only operated under first-come-first-serve. What is the point of reserving a unit through U-Haul if you aren't guaranteed to get it??!! Thankfully a unit was available, but was on the second floor and had no elevator. * After getting my lock and unit number, I had to find an employee to unlock the unit as it still had a "customer-ready" lock on it. * The automatic sliding door by the unloading area was broken. Could only open it by literally pulling the doors apart. I get that I could've arrived on a particularly busy day, and the facility seemed to be very under-staffed. Even so, there needs to be a better process for handling simple equipment returns and storage unit reservation retrievals that doesn't involve waiting in line for an hour as one customer plans their entire move with the only available staff. Overall my experience with every aspect of U-Haul aside from the actual truck rental has been very confusing, and made our move extremely stressful.

Jacob was outstanding in every way.....he efficiently worked my u-box exchanges without delay once the plan was coordinated. He is an awesome employee for u-haul....you need to give him a raise! :-)

They check the storage units every night, and noticed when I had locked mine wrong. They put their own lock on it to keep anyone else out!

Several times we tried to use the lift as we rented an upstairs unit and have large pieces of furniture, and it was not operable. I would suggest fixing the equipment or not advertising the feature.
