The desk person looked like she was on a personal call and was waiting on hold when I walked in and more people behind me and I was in a rush but she sat there and finished her personal call before she serviced me. Bit unprofessional.

The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is because I reserved an appliance dolly with my reservation and when I arrived I was told it wasn't available. This made my move more difficult than it had to be had I had the dolly. If a " not available " while making my reservation or phone call would help this issue in the future.

I reserved a truck, 10 of the reusable plastic moving boxes, and supplies. When I arrived, the person checking me in didn't know that I had rented supplies. When I let her know, she and another lady began putting the supplies in the truck. They told me I was all set. When I got home to meet the movers, it turns out they didn't put the 10 reusable moving boxes in the truck. I called frantically because I was depending on those boxes and the movers had arrived. The lady on the phone told me that it was a separate reservation and that I should've said something. I'm not sure why I would be expected to be tuned into the intricacies of your system? Wouldn't a customer assume that if - in one reservation session - a reservation was made and supplies were purchased that the stuff reserved and purchased would pop up in the system when I came in and gave them my name? It caused me a significant amount of lost time and struggled to figure out how to pack all of the stuff I was depending on the boxes for. The move was a disaster.

Your movers were AMAZING! My son and I rented the truck from Chicago, packed it up and drove to ohio...we were dead!! These guys that moved our stuff were freaking fabulous! I could hardly walk and my son was so sick from exhaustion...they took over like pros...omg..we will be forever grateful for how quick, how friendly, how fantastic they are. Please, PLEASE reward them with free massages for a year because WOW, bless them both. Thank you Uhaul twice over...

My wife atteshia Woods came there yesterday with a load that you guys had her pay for her through a third-party for them to come and get her stuff and bring it to the storage and they bailed on her soon as she got there so she still sitting out there with her U-Haul and they said that's not cool at all. She paid them $160 for them to bill on her when they got to you guys place.

I reserved my truck at the S LaSalle St location but when I went to pick it up, I was told my reservation was at the Pershing Rd location. No problem... The kind lady at the LaSalle location was able to provide me a truck. It just took some extra time as all the preregistering was invalid. (To be clear, the paper receipt I printed said LaSalle location, but it was changed by the time the text verification came through. I didn't notice the change in the text and being old school, I went to the location on my paper receipt.)

Everything worked out very well. Mobile check-in was a cool feature but it took me longer than expected to complete because is was my first time using it. The staff member Maurice was very nice when I called for assistance regarding the the truck return and he displayed excellent customer service when I arrived to return the truck. I would use Uhal location again :)

Only complaint is my truck had the check engine light on. Definitely seemed to drive fine to my destination, but just like my personal car would get checked/fixed if I had the light on, so too I believe a rental company should have no warning lights on.

The 15ft Truck was very difficult to control the stirring wheel was hard to control. I had to drive the truck under 30 miles per hour to maintain stability on the local streets of Chicago.

My only concern was some mouse droppings that were in my unit. I had my things in storage for quite a while. Given the amount of time it was there and the amount of droppings it was minimal. I would recommend putting a glue trap in each unit. Other than that, the service was great and I appreciate U-Haul.

You had one male who stayed on the phone texting the entire 15 minutes I was in the store. His customer service skills need work. He did not tell me thank you for choosing Uhaul I told him the cell phone was going to get him fired because he was texting instead of helping customers. I was going to rent a struck and a unit but decided not to because of my experience with him However, I had a better experience on Sunday with a new employee.

I had the worst customer service with Josh when I was trying to return & get my storage unit. He was VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL to me and my sister. He can not tell me the correct sizes of the unit I asked for a large unit they have we walked me ove to the 2 smallest and said put these 2 together. I told him I needed something bigger. We went back to the office OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN I asked him was there a way to get to & from here without going in the rain he said NO. But once we got to the front door by the office I saw an customer standing in the door way and we just left her in the back of the build. I asked him well how she got up here but we had to go around in the rain he said nothing. I continued to pick unit once again. He gave me 2 more unit I could not use. After that I asked him to call his Supervisor are Manager he to me no. If I wanted to get this handled I had to work with him because he cant and want call his Supervisor are Manager. As I was on the phone with the 1800# his co workers stop and asked me if I need help I told him was was going on and he right then an there he walked me to 2 unit to see if that would work and they did so he did all the changes from him phone. He was very helpful. But that other Guy Josh dont need to work for yall company. Even when I went to my unit one time he had to nerve to say oh you still here. I was about to go to jail dealing with him. Once I closed my ticket out there was 2 new lady's at the desk they also was very friendly and please to work with.

The staff works really well to complete transitions. My suggestion is to be careful who you approve for units. Some stored items have no value and are too heavy for the floors. Those items may potentially cause unwanted deterioration of the property. Some tenants are unclean and I'm assuming is the hardest part of the job is Consistently cleaning up after adults. Otherwise, this business is operating well. A formal audit suggested. And better communication skills from the staff. I've seen roaches, bedbugs, mice, and some creatures I don't know the names. Good luck!

The heavyset woman that was there when I checked in was of no help at all. She clearly did not want to be at work to begin with and the fact that I interrupted her lunch seemed to slow her down even more. When I mentioned that I was in a bit of a hurry, as I had a strict time frame for moving, her slowness came to an almost complete stop. She was rude and unhelpful. Did not remind me to take furniture pads and dollies, that I had already paid for , with me. She definitely does not belong anywhere near customers. U-Haul has too good of a reputation to soil it with her bad attitude.

The man at the desk did not acknowledge me for one hour when I have an appointment for 4 o'clock and I had to be somewhere by 6 o'clock to pick up a refrigerator. I had to pay $100 for the man to stay so I can get my refrigerator that was over 70 miles away. There was less than a quarter of a tank of gas and a check engine light was on and then driving there. It said low right tire pressure. It was horrible.

The worker we had was awesome I was so stressed about this move. I forgot his name but he worked Labor Day Monday we went around 3 or 4. The service was so fast he walked us to the storage gave us options and helped us.

Checking in to receive the truck was quick and easy; returning the truck was slow and a little frustrating. Once someone was absolute help me, it went quickly. Communicating to customers who are waiting is helpful so it doesn't feel like others are jumping in front of you.

The person I spoke with who gave me the key was very nice and helpful. Got the truck and got it back in very quickly. The truck was clean but I felt the steering was a little iffy. The truck has 130,000+. It did the job fine but might need some mtc. Thanks for making our move easier!

Very clean and alway professional staff. Extremely impressive management and staff team at the Chicago LaSalle U-Haul location. Far exceeded expectations! Even after having storage over several years there were no bugs, spiders or any little critters in the unit and belongings.

The system to access the building is confusing and inconsistent... multiple boxes to log into in order for access to garage doors, elevators. Was not told could not check in after hours on phone, but manager in site said the customer service rep was wrong. It took 2 hours to try checking in until i was forced to extend the truck into the next day causing more expense. Not great.

A pleasant experience. A few concers. First concern is the exit strategy when both elevators are out of order. Today one elevator was out of order and the other being held by a tenant with very heavy furniture pieces. Also, the staff doesn't have a confirmation process for Businesses (LLC's). I suggested to verify IL File Numbers with the City of Chicago Department of Business to prevent fraud and unnecessary drama.

The self check in process was so confusing. The 2 agents Omar and another who helped me for over an hour combined could not help me. I was forced to extend my U-Haul van another 24 hours. The next day, the manager explained that the people on the phone don't know that there is a tiny check in box at the entrance. In the end, i moved in for another $$$$ going to you. You're welcome.

The only loading dock for trucks over 10 ft was broken. That really sucked considering I had a 1 bedroom apartment to move into the storage unitt and had no ramp or way to do it without encouring stairs. Second, it's false advertising to allow someone to reserve a "first floors street level" until that is on the second floor… that's just a lie. That's not a mistake or "typo" like someone suggested. If I had known it would be on the second floor I would have planned to have more people with me me but it was too late. That's wrong and I think I will take action to have you all correct it. That kind of advertising could have a handicap or disabled person really in a bind if they think they are moving things on to the first floor and it is. Otherwise everyone was super nice and helpful and in good spirits.

The computer system was down for 3 whole days. Which made it difficult to access the elevators which means you couldn't move stuff in or out of the storage. I had rented a vehicle for one day with stuff inside so I had to wait for 3 days to be able to off load them. Which means I have to pay extra rental fees for the extension

My access code did not work even though I did mobile check-in, so I still had to check-in twice (I had already checked in for my truck rental). Then the lock that came with my rental was not in the storage unit. It was a very unnecessarily complicated process just to get access

Hours were very inconvenient for the price. People obviously live in the storage facility. Garage garbage bin was always overflowing. People dent your door and do not report it and i had to wait to get into my storage. All was resolved however resulted in me needing to travel several times due to where i was coming from.This may be convenient for someone else, just not for me.

I rated my experience three stars because of the way my partial exit from UHaul was handled after paying over $10 000 in storage fees since renting the two storage units in early June, 2000 & never missing a payment. Nevertheless, the day after the grace period ended, Oct. 6th, I personally went to the UHaul and asked if I could extend the period for two more since was hiring professional movers & planned to move out in two more days. The two guys working there both said it would be alright and that they would put a note in the system. When I arrived there two days later, we could not operate the elevator or get a guest pass because the system stated the rent on the units were past due. When we were let on the elevator by the manager after explaining what had happened, the movers and I get to the first unit & there is an additional lock on the unit put there by UHaul due to non-pymt. I then called the downstairs front desk & the manager came to take the lock off, all the time my $150. per hr movers sat around waiting. Finally when they finished cleaning out the first unit & could not fit all of the second unit on their truck, I went to the office & paid for the month of October for that unit, which I had told the two guys I had spoken with earlier that I would do. This all happened a week & a half ago & yet someone called me a couple of days ago from UHaul to tell me that I owed rent on the unit I had moved from although I had ended that lease the day I moved out & had also removed my lock. The unit was completely empty yet they did not even know that or check before calling me. I then had to explain the entire chain of events that day so she could really understand that I had paid the rent for October on the rental unit I still had. So frustrating!!

I was looking for a unit to store my things and was crunched on timing so I was a bit stressed. Upon speaking to Anthony and letting him know all of this, Anthony was very professional, and knowledgeable with what I needed and helped me find the right size unit for my items. He took the time to understand my situation and was very polite. He also gave me options on what was the best bang for my buck. It's refreshing to deal with people who are transparent and helpful. It's little things like that, that helped alleviate a stressful situation, which I appreciated it a lot. I will definitely be using Uhaul of Bronzeville again and will recommend this location to anyone.

My unit looked like it was accessed before I arrived and the free lock I was suppose to be provided was not inside. Also there was a guy roaming around the facility who wasn't a worker that had my fiancé concerned.

I consistently didn't hear back when I reached out regarding the issues I experienced over the past yr. I consistently could never get through on the phobe and would sit on hold for hours. My contract and unit was put in a random person's name and address due to this I was told I could not get information on this account . This error was supposedly corrected multiple times and never was. I was reassured that the storage would fit my belongings. There was a huge cement cylinder taking up the majority of the rm. I ended up having to switch to a more expensive room when this was discovered upon arrival despite explicitly inquiring beforehand.

Had a good storage expericence with the exception that someone on my floor decided it was ok to store a cat in one of the lockers. I heard the poor cat scream over the course of a couple of week while I was moving things in and out of the place. First time, I thought I was hearing things but a week later I definately knew it was a stored cat. Whoever treated a cat like this should be held accountable legally. I called the office but no answer and the call forwarded to the main UHAUL customer service line. I told the rep about it and he wrote a note to managenement and I think it was taken care of. Which is good cause I was about to call 911, animal control, the media etc. This is extreme animal cruelty and I think better measures should be in place to not only check what people are storing but to hold them responsible if they break the rules or the law.

And the store doesn't match other uhaul stores prices.

I went to this U-Haul to purchase some addition pads for my move and the machine was down. The employee proceeded to put my credit card info down with her personal phone. When my mother asked what was going on, one of the employee started to yell at her very very aggressively. She told her to shut up and just go to another store!! My mother was so in shock she started to cry!! This employee was very loud and hostile to us both. We just didn't not understand why she would be putting my credit info in her phone; that was the only question we asked. Also we were terrified for our lives because NO ONE at this location wore a mask except for my mom and I during my entire experience!!! So ALARMING!!!!!!! This behavior is very very very unacceptable due COVID-19 killing people and my mom having underling health issues!!!!!!!!. You're staff put my mom and I at risk in addition to the belligerent behavior of your employee ( I think she was a manager). Lastly, I spoke to someone at this location two days prior to my move-in a safe said that my unit was available on the first floor which was imperative, I even told her that I could pay ahead of time, but she said pay on Saturday when I arrive. When I arrived my u it had been moved to the 3rd floor which caused me to spend more money with the movers . She said that she thought that I would not mind because the 3rd floor had air conditioning, but actually I did mind; the decision caused me to spend more money considering I was moved to the 3rd floor and across the building!!!!! I would have went to another U-Haul if I knew this was a possibility!!! Nevertheless, please contact me with a follow up call. I have never seen such poor service at your facilities!!!

I was so pleased with my UHaul's employee's help and professionalism that I had planned on writing a letter to let you know how wonderfully he represents your company. His name is Anthony and he works at the 2600 S. LaSalle St. in Chicago. He made what could have been very difficult and frustrating a carefree experience for a single, senior female. I appreciated his "No problem' attitude in assisting me with the purchasing of my storage unit and by walking me through the large facility to ensure I could find it when I got turned around with its location. I'm a college student who was suddenly displaced due to Covid-19. I heard that U-Haul was sympathetic and could help me store my things for a month until I could figure things out. I'm very appreciative of U-Haul and the staff who helped me figure everything out in my crazy situation.
