I was charged an after hours return fee even though I returned the truck before the location closed. I was able to go to the office the next day and get a refund. However, I am annoyed that they tried to sneak this charge into my receipt, and that I had to take the effort to get it reimbursed.

Teresa at this location went well out of her way to resolve my problem regarding this additional day I was to get from pickup location because he did not have the correct moving dolly I reserved. She was very professional and I got the impression she really wanted to correct the error made at the pickup location.

BEYOND awesome! My last rental had a problem with the hinges on the passenger-side door (behind the passenger side). The door felt like it was going to fall off in our hands. Theresa immediately took care of it by reassigning me to another rental van. I love this location!!!!

The truck did not shift gears well and did not feel smooth braking. Location was short staffed which made returning the vehicle take longer than expected, but everyone I worked with was great and very helpful.

They charged me $66 for fuel. Saying the fuel was lower than when I picked it up. I checked the fuel gauge before it was returned and the needle hadnt moved. They claimed it was 8 gallons less. The distance I traveled, there is absolutely no way that is true. They also overcharged me on mileage. I got exact distances between all 3 locations. At 0,79 cents a mile, it comes up to $10.90. They charged me just under $40. Absolutely ridiculous. I will not be using uhaul again and I will absolutely not recommend them to anyone.

Many times I have picked up a moving van and the driver seat is stuck. It might be a good idea when a truck comes in to check the drivers seat to make sure it adjusts.

Prices were $40-$50 higher than what was shown on my U-Haul app with all the same exact information. I called the store and no one could give me a clear answer as to why they could only guess and seems like they were bullshitting the entire time I returned the truck early as I could not trust them.

The rep was nice and explained everything about the rental truck but felt like he fell short on the storage unit. This is my first time renting one, and I was given a map but no indication on where to park at and load other than the map. It was dark and rainy, im traveling in a big truck and it was all so overwhelming. Maybe put something in place like a tour prior to buying or at least ask if the person would like to be shown around

Alignment was so bad on the truck that I almost had an accident twice. Upon entry of the facility to return the truck the male clerk started making sounds as if he was mimicking middle eastern language after reading my name and laughing. Little does he know that I am not from overseas and my name was legally changed in 2012, not that give him the right to be racist towards ANYONE. I will not be recommending or using that facility again and I will use word of mouth to spread the word of my treatment and why. That should slow business pretty good for Cincinnati seeing the my Muslim brothers and sisters are large in the area. SHAME ON UHAUL - NO ETIQUETTE

I noticed customers returning and picking up trucks. When I received my rental I was given the most damaged and beat up truck and the heat did not work very good. I am thinking this was done because I live on the Westside of town.

Have a fool safe system for handing off keys when rental trucks come and go. I arrived at 9 AM on January 1st, 2024, to pick up key for 20 foot Truck, and key was not available. This was at 1340 East 3rd St, Dayton OH. I was on a schedule and the quick fix was to take the 26 foot truck for same price. I thought that was fair.

Every thing went great the lady who assisted me was on her job, she knew what she was doing attentive to customer needs. She also assisted me with a storage ,She went out her way and to provide excellent customer service.. a great lady who had to work on her birthday, but still delivered excellently. there was also a young man who also assisted as well. im not good with names Alllow me to say the whole team were awesome... There was an overhead door that was broke the entire time we rented. It was either stuck open or wouldn't open at all. Also a few dead spots (motion lights delayed) that were dark and scary

I rented a storage the young lady service was so in caring just rented me anything that was not clean at all so I had to go back to the office to get another storage. Before that I had to go into the office again to tell them that the truck that was given to me was blocked in by another truck so yes I was very frustrated.

No complaints couple months of storage turned into years. Communication was always sent timely for changes to rates. They continued to address neighborhood issues and make necessary precautions for safety. Lots of upgrades to the facility over the years. Really no issues 5 star review was definitely earned at this facility.

I was disappointed with my experience at this U-Haul location. They initially promised a first free month, but after an hour of discussion, we only received one free month. Additionally, the broken elevator made our move challenging, forcing us to use the stairs and incurring extra costs for movers.

The 2 stars are for AJ. AJ is really nice and helpful. Very hard to get anyone else on the phone. Actually never could get through to a real person. Storage facility building is in shambles. Elevator is barely functioning. Trash is everywhere. I watch 2 employees walk by the dumpster over flowing with trash and not even give it 2 glances. Doesn't seem like anyone working there has any pride or want to be there. Someone out there give this guy some help.

I always felt safe and secure entering and leaving the facility. The security system you all have in place appears to be adequate. I had no worries about whether my property was secure. I certainly appreciated the transport carts that are available to move items in and out the storage unit. I loved the fact that my unit was on the first floor. Most of the staff was friendly but no one could quickly resolve the issue. They told me that, because they were a UHaul franchise, my booking the storage facility on line didn't integrate with their systems. Therefore, I had to upgrade to a larger unit at a higher cost. The exact unit size I ordered was NOT available even though I reserved it months ago. Very frustrating and this will lead me to look to other storage options.

I started paying 70 dollars a month.Then I received a letter on the mail saying that they were increasing the month rent.and from that day on my rate keept going up I ended paying 100 dollars a month. You should keep your original rates not keep increasing them up every month.

I had U-Haul at East Third St location . A J the manager is awesome to work with . Really helpful and definitely patient . I hit some hard times and almost lost all my belongings , but A.J worked with me a couple different times on payment options and saved me from losing my belongings . There was mold, mildew, and mouse droppings in my unit and on my furniture when I moved out. There was also insulation on and around my stuff. I also found a lighter and a small camera tripod in my unit when I opened it to move out.

I would recommend if the facility did not smell of rodent urine. It was the first thing I noticed wedged walking through the doors. I understand that rodents are a problem in a storage facility but the smell of their urine should be a problem that should be addressed. I don't want 6 months from now if I move out my furniture to smell like urine.

I have been to several hauls in the past and they were always helpful in everyway and respectful , clean and nice. The uhaul located at 1340 EThird St in Daytime n , Oh was by far the worst as far as the employees, manager was rude and unprofessional, when I rented a truck to empty out my storage unit that's when I discovered all my property was ruined and mildewed and moldy but they closed so had to take it and called the next morning to get screamed at by a manager when asked what. Should do and how to note everything before trying cl rental was due co.the facility and storage areas was filthy. There was blood in the restrooms, i let them know but because they were closing for the day it wasn't a priority. There was people living inside and walking around like they owned it and helped me more than the employees. I would never refere how do you spell referring her rooma friend at this location. I would also never tell anybody ne my experience there either . I just hope things change for the better of n the future .

The staff went above and beyond to assist our family so we would not lose our belongings in our uhaul storage! They are very nice and caring and their customer service is excellent! I would definitely recommend the E. 3rd Street location to anyone in need of a storage unit. Those location is secure as well as clean & bug and rodent free! Also this location has a professional but understanding General Mgr that strives to make your experience great!

The clerk needed more training and notification should have been sent to me about where the location of the unit was and how to get to it before 10:00 pm. It was never discussed that 34 hour access could be available to me for more money. There was a purchase of a prior Ihaul that I felt I was over charged and Field Manager couldn't determine why the Truck cost was the amount leaving one City to another City. He told me to contact the Manager where I had dropped the Out Of Town Rental at his location. I was over charged for being late on a payment due to my Debit Card was destroyed by the Bank that my automatic payments were being processed for my unit on Burkhart Road in Dayton, Ohio.

My cousin and I were at 1340 East Third street in Dayton, Ohio on August 15, 2021 from 9am-11am and we noticed how the store Manager and the one only employee did great remaining professional and helpful in spite of how busy it was. Great job guys!

It was hard to get everything to the 3rd floor with so many people moving and using carts, but I don't think UHaul could have done any better for that situation. Having more flat carts would have been nice.

We moved our stuff out after watching several guys walk up to the glass sliding bay door, bang the glass a couple times and the doors open, did not need a code. Then these guys with rolling baskets leaving the storage area with odds and ends. They are getting into the storage doors, using what looks like a room stick from the ceiling and poking holes in each unit to peek inside and see if there is anything worth stealing, then they get into the units and take what they want. We watched them leave. Our unit had a hole. We complained, but didn't receive a phone call back. When the new glass doors was installed they should have been tested for flaws. That is unacceptable, but dont let me be a day late paying rent. 

I am chosing to get my items out of storage because there is a serious rodent problem. Many of my personal items were damaged and/or soiled with mice urine and feces. I chose to throw out many of my items that held sentimental and monetary value and it was terrible to clean up the mess that was made in my unit. I'm sad that I can't claim those things as a loss with insurance.

I always use the uhaul on east third street for all my storage and truck rentals. The first time I came into the store Aughn'ae helped me, and has been there every single time I've come in and needed a rental or any assistance. He is always working and has helped me every time. I really appreciate that uhaul hires great staff for customer service also, because moving is not so great. I will always choose this uhaul location for all my moving and storage needs! Thank you!!!

Employees were very friendly but I called many many times over a span of two months to see if there was any possible way I could cancel my unit over the phone and no one ever answered. Finally got time to go to my unit and manually cancel it, but waited in line 15 minutes before someone even noticed that I was there. The old elevator doors sometimes hopped off their track, and the double door system meant that you were competing with other people who forgot to close it on a different floor. The security scanner sometimes didn't work on my building, and I had to use the other one. No way of knowing without asking. No mice presence for 2 years, until the very end (maybe the trap got old?) Other than that, no issues.

After paying for my storage unit around 5pm, I was told it would be unlocked by the time I returned later that night to access it. When I returned at 9pm, a lock was still on the unit forcing me to return once again the next morning during business hours. This prevented me from being able to return the truck at the scheduled drop off time. Thankfully, I was not charged with another day for the truck at the drop off location after explaining what happened.

Good afternoon, My overall experience with U-Haul was a good one. I was greeted by a pleasant young man the day I moved my stuff into the storage. My original request was for a larger unit, after paying for the larger unit walking to the back this unit was already reserved. We walked back to the front, he asked about refunding me the difference since I now needed to downsize. The manager on duty told him, "not to worry about it, I would receive a credit the next month." The day I signed up for the unit I explained I would only need the unit for two weeks, I was informed U-haul doesn't prorate so I would be paying for the whole month. Fine no problem I needed the unit. I walk in on Friday July 31, 2020 to inquire about my refund and inform the staff I was moving out. I was then again informed the funds would be refunded to my card on file. I don't question anything the same information was provide by two different employees. Fast forward to an email telling me I was going to be charged a late fee. I make my way to the U-haul store on E. Third street to inquire about the late and why my money wasn't refunded to my account. I found out the overpayment was applied to the next month, even though I moved out and informed the staff the morning of. When the manager on dust asked me how he could help, my request was simple make sure your team understands and is aware of the information they are passing along to customers. As a customer it's not my job to know your system or how it works, it's also not my jo to police units prior to paying for it. Add the system been properly updated I would have been informed prior to paying for the unavailable unit. Easy fix I would have been offered the small unit and charged for proper amount. Customer service is key for me, I had not problem paying for the unit, I do have a problem not getting what I paid for the bigger unit. Best regards, Kia A. Richardson

Thank you for the opportunity to express our opinion and share our experience with our rental unit. We had a very bad experience and would like to offer the feedback. The day after my daughter and I rented the storage unit, we returned to drop off some more items. We walked into the storage unit, and to say the place was an incredible mess is a giant understatement. We have a video clip of what we came across upon entering the storage unit, as it appeared everything was grossly vandalized. The isles were so cluttered with miscellaneous items and broken glass that we could not get through to get at our unit. We were slightly frightened as we did not know if there were perpetrators of any sort still in the building, and no other customers or staff were around to assist if any danger presented itself. We then left the building to go to the office and report what we found, and a staff member came to check it out. He was very nice and offered to clear a path but it was obvious this was going to take quite a long while. We were not able to wait for this as we were heading out of town, so we needed to send our items with a friend as they did not fit in our vehicle (the reason we rented the storage unit in the first place). We now need to make arrangements to drive to Chicago (3 hours away) to pick these items up. We tried to call the GM of the Dayton location, AJ Ross, on 3 separate occasions but did not receive a call back. He did finally respond to an email and simply stated, it was an auction and things got out-of-hand. He did not offer anything in the form of compensation for this despite being asked. He just did not reply any further. Please feel free to call for any additional information or clarification. We would share the video of what we witnessed as well. We will also be taking this to a higher level as this is really quite unacceptable service.

I had over ten thousand dollars worth of things stolen from my uhaul truck when I’m the possession of the third street uhaul in Dayton ohio

So the staff were super nice, but gave us pretty confusing directions to get to our storage unit. It was so hot out and we had to move our stuff more than once because we were confused about which door to go into. Overall, it was overly confusing. I think that someone should go with you to your unit instead of you trying to figure it out based off of confusing directions. Now that I know how to get in, I'm sure it won't be a problem. Just took way way way longer than needed to find our unit in the first place.

Uhaul was recommended to me from a family friend. I had the insurance for my rental unit. All of my things were covered in mice urine, feces and bed bugs. Upon filing my claim was told that insurance does not cover bedbugs. I lost everything! This location has very rude workers.

Started well but got progressively worse. Final straw was dealing with Mark, the "president." Horrible customer service dealing with issues. Treated me disrespectfully. UHaul is off my list for good.

Despite handling a large volume of customers, both u-haul personnel were friendly and helpful. After driving for four days, I really appreciated their courtesy.

After dealing directly with the staff I was told they closed out both my rentals on 2 separate occasions and was inconveniently charged for both units. I called 3 times total in order to get it fixed.
