I had reserved the truck closest ti my home, and ended up having to pick up from the most inconvenient place , I had to pay for 20 extra miles due to someone else not returning the truck back on time that I had reserved , I didn’t get any kind of discount for that I had to eat it!

lisa watson | Expérience généraleHeather, the manager, along with two male staff members were less than helpful and/or knowledgeable every time I tried to get anything accomplished. An example of how chaotic and poorly run this facility is- once I locked my unit open and they placed a green lock on my unit. I had to call three different times, three different days before they actually had their lock removed like I had requested them to do several days and several times before. I also had a water leak into my unit from the adjacent bathroom causing a little bit of water damage to some of my things in the unit. I called several times, left a few messages and no one even called me back to file a small insurance claim to cover the damages. Finally I got Heather on the phone and she started the claim.She told me she would start the claim and send me a link to upload my photos of the damages, but that link never came and unbeknownst to me the claim was never further investigated on my end, nothing was even said to me in response to my subsequent requests and they just closed out my claim with no further communication with me. I decided it was in my best interest to remove my property from the facility as it was not properly accounted for or looked after. I had my partner rent a box truck from the facility and when they inquired about the free storage unit that was suppose to come with any rental, they were denied as was I when I rented one a few months back. I wasn't any part of the latter rental, nor was I listed on the previous one about 3 months ago, however, as a result of my name/account being listed as a problem, neither person was allowed to get the advertised free unit for a month. I'm not certain the deal was going on 3 months ago, but I know it was 2 days ago and they were denied the offer listing me as the outstanding issue. I had nothing to do with the rental and I didn't owe any money, so I don't know how they could even do that. Beyond that,the heavier set gentleman ran his mouth to my partner about what a problem I had been and about how nice it will be once I'm gone for good and that I was not welcome or wanted back. I was floored by those remarks, especially since I was the one whose insurance claim was just swept under the carpet and I was the one who had to come back 3 different times when I was in town from Chicago and had to actually extend my stay, bc I couldn't get into the unit. They were the ones who repeatedly forgot to remove the lock I had requested them to remove 3 different times, but I was the issue…. Uhaul on W 12th Street in Erie was beyond very unprofessional with their lack of communication, coordination and non-existent follow through. I will never recommend renting a uHaul rental,, storage facility or anything else that has to do uHaul to anyone ever again in my life as a result of my interactions with them over these last few months. I am beyond dissatisfied with their lack of professionalism and childish, caddy behaviors. 0 out of 5 stars all the way across the board,,very dissatisfied.

Jessica BellamyI opted for the 24/7 pickup option so I could pick up outside of normal business hours on a Sunday and they forgot to leave the key in the lock box!!! Luckily they were open Sunday but wasted an hour of my time and made me late meeting the movers I was patby the hour! If I could give negative stars I would. I continually am displeased with u-haul but you have a monopoly on the moving truck business so I get stuck with your crappy service.

John GloningerWhile moving out I had a terrible experience. Another patron held up the elevator for an hour. I asked the 6 men to unblock the elevator so I may bring my stuff down. I was ignored by the men who just stared at me. I was then scared. I continued to wait until I couldn't wait anymore. I called the office, the girl working was alone helping customers and she would help me when she was free. By the time she came to help me, the men had disappeared. Do to this experience, I don't think I will ever use your facility again. Being a single woman, I was scared of these men, and there was no help to be found.

Jason MorrisonRoll up trailer door is broken allowing it to go up higher than expected and caused fingers to be pinched between the door and the frame of the trailer. Employee (June) did not check trailer in after she unhooked it from my tow vehicle. I was not charged for this, however I spent over an hour trying to get this resolved so that my card was not charged a late fee. Scheduled return was for 230PM, trailer was dropped off at 1130AM that same day.

I know it's your policy to take a picture of my photo ID, but I have to say it was a bit unnerving when the woman at the counter took a picture of my photo ID front and back with what appeared to be her personal cell phone. Unfortunately Identity theft is a big concern these days and don't feel comfortable with the check in process and I hope this doesn't turn into an issue for you and I.

If the facility upgraded to key fobs, the whole experience could be free of any hassle. I haven't had any problem yet - I'm just saying this is the only weak point in the whole security system.

Cheryl Herman | Premières impressionsThe facility was clean, the local staff was friendly and helpful in the beginning, but several of us got stuck inside the building when the elevator got stuck on the 2nd floor, and the doors lock once you enter the stairs, so there wasn't a way or or back onto the storage floor. Customer service told us no one would come help us until the next morning?! We found an emergency exit that was unlocked and went out that way, but my storage unit was left open and unlocked because I was unable to get back onto the 2nd floor to close it up. I had to wait until staff showed up the next morning so I could get up to my floor from the stairs because the elevator is still broken. What started out to be a great experience quickly turned disastrous because all the customer help and emergency numbers and representatives were not willing to help us get in contact with anyone local that would help us get out of the building.

I was helped by Karon and Heather who were extremely nice!! one thing I will say is there aren't any security cameras (that i noticed) on the outside or inside of the storage unit part of the building. As a single young female who's storage units were in the back of the facility it made me a little worried but I made sure I had someone with me or went in the daytime.
