Ronnie M | Premières impressionsWe had confirmed our reservation TWICE, including the day before our pickup, only to be called an hour before our pickup, and informed that we would have to settle for the next smaller truck because or 26 footer was no longer available. On one hour's notice, to try to figure out how to make do with 360 cubic feet less was NOT good customer service. Initially, Uhaul had no ideas about how to make things right, or to mitigate the damage. In the end, I was the one who had to suggest the possibility of adding a trailer to the shorter truck, if needed. It turns out we were able to make do with some highly creative packing, and leaving some things behind to be picked up later. I understand that a 26 ft truck WAS available in Helena, about 90 miles away. A uhaul rep suggested we could go there and pick it up. I'd like to suggest, why didn't Uhaul feel that good customer service and business integrity would have had Uhaul ferrying the truck up so that they could fulfill their contractual obligation to the customer?

GLENN CU-Haul container experience moving from IL to MT was easy and the staff at both locations were fantastic. Everything was on time as promised and good arrived safely. Will definitely use again. Military discounts not very clear and did not use however, will press for next time.

Wasn't informed that they do not carry the required things like a ball and wiring. Get to the correct location about 2 hrs after I initially scheduled pick up and was then informed that I needed the car wired. Was never asked on the website or received any phone calls prior to this asking so I had no idea. The location then didn't have a working bathroom or printer saying the printer was just low on ink so I was unable to get any physical copies. A man walked in while I was waiting for my car to get wired and hooked up asking to rent a trailer. The employees didn't ask what type of car he drove and it was my dad who had to inform him that his car was unable to pull the trailer because it was back wheel drive. Another man was told that tow bars are unsafe and unrecommended by u haul and yet they were sold in the store
Alyssa KWhen dropping off the individual (Desider sp?) tried to charge me for mileage when it was a one way rental and miles were included. He was rude, lied and told me the GM of the location was not available that day, threatened me with banning me from U-haul permanently. I was admittedly also fired up as a response to him. When I called customer service and the lady there talked to Desider and he said he had already talked to the GM (remember when he said he wasn't available, there's the lie) I should not have to make multiple phone calls to return a truck and waste over an hour of my and my family's time. He even expected me to know what the different colors of key fobs mean, really? I found him very unprofessional, rude, arrogant, disrespectful and clearly incompetent. Again why should I have to make multiple phone calls to do his job for him? This entire experience has left a very poor impression of that location and U-Haul as a whole.
brian dWhile conducting the walk around of the truck it appeared in good working order. However while attempting use the ramp it was missing one of the hooks which prevented us from using the ramp for loading. Additionally once on the highway the alignment was really bad which caused the need to drive with the steering wheel over a quarter turn to the left to keep straight. Lastly the truck violently shook beyond normal large truck shacking. It should be noted I informed the drop off location of these issues and they informed me it was scheduled to be taken to maintenance and that was the reason it was scheduled to be taken to Oregon by me.

I was confused because I had paid for the whole extra day so…..

CHRISTOPHER RMy experience in U-Haul honoring my reservation was awful. Even though I placed my reservation a month in advance, I was notified two days before my move that there was no truck available at my requested pick up location in Great Falls. I was asked to drive 70 miles each way to a different town get the truck I requested. That was unacceptable. Instead, I was given a truck 2x's the size that I needed and had to pay more. Unacceptable. The Great Falls location provided no assistance in finding a solution.

Neal AThe only reason why I rated this U-Haul Self Storage at 4 stars is because the access hours are the same as the office hours, which is fine, but I hope that this U-Haul Self Storage follows other U-Hauls that I've seen and allow extended access hours or even 24 hour access.

I went to unload in the morning at 0530 when it said would be available, and I wasn't able to get in until 0900 which in turn made it so I had to pay for an extra day. Merci.

Janet O | Expérience généraleNot all of the key pads work causing an inconvenience to de-arm my unit. With U-Haul having all of its members phone numbers and emails, they could have sent out a message stating the issue, the corrective action, or even the temporary fix. No "out of order" signage was posted or any notification. Instead I had to go inside and ask about the issue. After all, every year U-Haul ups the rent to cover what ever excuse at that time, maybe some of that money could cover a simple sign. I realized that my units alarm was faulty and although I would arm it, my items were not protected by that layer of promised deterrence. I will give U-Haul staff a thumbs up as they moved me to a larger unit with an employee rate which was similar to my smaller previous unit. But when I was told this year there would be an increase in rates via email, it say almost $18 a month. I talked to the staff and they told me $10 for larger units and $5 for smaller units. Explain that to me in a way I will understand. With this ridiculous increase in rent, I had to purchase a key fob to open the bay doors after hours and if I wanted 24 hour access then I would have to pay a monthly fee. I understand the reason why the fobs are needed as they keep people out that camp in there or are seeking cover from the cold. Every time I would come to the building I would open both doors just to make sure they work with my fob. And they did. I did notice that one doors rollers were messed up while opening the door and I reported it to the staff which should have been noticed while a walk around was "supposedly" being conducted. The staff always are nice and friendly and I have never had an issue with any of them other than the general manage a couple times. The building is usually mostly clean and well lit with lighting. The hours are reasonable but a fob is not going to stop someone from coming in late at night and is a sorry excuse for a fee. Overall I'm in the middle of the road with my experience as there are things on both sides that prevent me from swaying one way or the other.

The GM stated the alarm went off on Sunday, why didn't we receive a phone call? We were there on Monday and discovered the missing items. WORSE thing is they would NOT look at camera footage to help solve it. Seems like an inside job.

When I informed him and Brad their barrooms are in the order of a dirty gas station , they got on it - keeping them a bit cleaner; and began getting the outside trash can I front of glass doors , emptied regularly versus always in a state of full- overflowing trash falling onto pavement. Had it not been for Sam since the beginning rental April 2022, I'd have left and also the attentive courteous manager Brad. Anywhere Sam or Brad go, I will patronize their establishment and know I'm well-cared for. Thanks for hiring them - give them a raise so they can afford to live here Susie Cornelia Binkley

Even Travis was OUTSTANDING .. even when I didn't understand how the trucks flow in and out and I used the truck for extended times... (last move when we sold our house)... He handled it like a champ and I was so busy never got to review! So YES... I am a repeat customer and definitely recommend... BECAUSE THESE GUYS ARE PURE GOLD❤️ I hope they are treated as such by UHAUL... (unlike Central Ave years ago... when my fav was just gone one day!梁 and THEN MET SAM! But my money is in the process of being refunded. I then had a hard time finding a uhaul, but the guys at u haul in Spokane valley went all out in helping me get one, so grateful to them. I would recommend u haul in a heart beat. Thanks for everything you did to help me, you went above and beyond what I expected. Judy Evans

After addressing it again we came up with an agreeable solution. Please train people selling/renting pads to clearly explain how and when to return them and what the charges will be for late return. Tell people to not come across as demeaning because of misunderstanding policies. Have some compassion for people who are weary, short on sleep, overloaded on complicated details, and haven't eaten all day. It took 1 hour to complete rental arrangements, even with a reservation, while generous friends were waiting to help unload.

Then when I returned the truck, because of someone else's mess I was charged a cleaning fee. I couldn't go back and change it and it was after hours so I couldn't speak to anyone about it. Not happy when I moved all day long. I won't be renting another truck from uhaul again.

First I didn't ask to be contacted. Second I did the survey not to have my info sent out. Sam is amazing. Great guy. Helpful and very respectful. There is a female there that is almost as good as Sam. I can't remember her name either but very pretty. She's respectful and helpful as well. I think that with the larger units being so far back it makes moving stuff in and out difficult as there is no back entrance. Might be a consideration. Overall though the place is good. Great people work there and are helpful. I DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED!!!!

We planned to rent a 10 foot truck to move family items to Washington and were surprised that there were no one-way rentals. Storing our stuff was the only option until we could return in 7 months. Sam was a big help; the storage unit was perfect and easy to access. A couple who happened to be there volunteered to help us move our stuff into the storage space. What a relief! Good people the way around!

jennifer j | Premières impressions1.I was supposed to receive one free month for renting a trailer but they denied it for this unit saying you can only use it once. I have multiple units, so that's flat out false advertising. For the amount of money spent they should honor it. 2. They tried to charge me a late fee even though all my units were on auto pay. The nice person at the location reversed it, but it's stupid that they mail your emergency contact that you aren't paying and don't bother to send an email until over a week later. It's shaming someone for no reason and that should change as well, like inform the person first maybe??? Or look at their account and realize everything is on one autopay and taken care of??? But no we are going to mail your emergency contact that you're "delinquent"? Who came up with this crazy crap?

The facilities are amazing with their brights lights, climate-controlled environment, and convenient access. The rates are very affordable as well. Thank you for such a great experience!

The facility was not busy, instead of helping me or directing me the "manager," his name tag said manager/owner, drew the way to my storage unit on a piece of paper. His attitude and cold, absent stare should have led me to expect no less. As I tried to find the entrance to the facility, yet another uhaul employee, standing outside with an empty dolly, who I asked for help had a major attitude and spoke to me as if I were an idiot for asking for help. Honestly, the worst customer service experience.

This facility is new, clean, secure, spacious, well-lit, and all indoors for a very comfortable move in/move out experience. The indoor loading dock is extremely convenient, as are clean, new restrooms, and extra equipment as needed at no extra cost during loading/unloading. I highly recommend this facility in Great Falls, and will definitely use it again for any future indoor storage needs in the area.
