Lanichia HI hope someone takes the time to read this review. I want to start & say the Kingwood team you have is awesome. The truck was clean & well maintained. I will note on initial start of the truck the tire pressure light was on, but when I checked the tires they were at 75 PSI instead of the recommended 80 PSI. There were no other issues & the truck road fine & the AC was cold. My issue/complaint I have is with your corporate UHAUL app. The issue started with your App not able to obtain my location, so I could not start the check-in process. This was frustrating & confusing because I had location sharing enabled on my app & under the "location" within your app it was accurate & showed me at the Kingwood Uhaul location. Yet when I clicked the check in button under my reservation your app could not find my location. For your tech support info: I was using a Google Pixel 7 with everything updated, location sharing enabled & battery saver mode turned off. So we pulled up my wife's iphone & in the browser we were able to proceed with the check in. But I had to reenter a bunch of personal data (cell phone #, driver license #, & alternate person who could verify me) that I had already put in your app when I created a username/login. Your webpage said to go to the lockbox & retrieve our key for the vehicle. The page did not provide us with a code to unlock the padlock securing the vehicle key. We proceeded to the next page which said to take the key & inspect the vehicle. There was no back button to return to the "lock box" page to see if there was a padlock code that we might have missed & we did not want to proceed from the "inspect your vehicle" page on the browser because without the key to the vehicle we could not properly inspect the vehicle. We called the customer service line & spoke with someone who said they could not help & would transfer us to someone who could. We waited on hold for over 30 minutes waiting for that someone to answer. Remember our reservation was suppose to start at 6:00 AM & we are pushing 6:30 AM now & I have time commitments I have to make. My wife ends up calling on her phone while my phone has been on hold for 30 minutes. After her waiting for 10 minutes we get a hold of someone. They tell us that there should have been a code for the padlock to the vehicle key on that "lockbox" page before the vehicle inspection page. We tell them there was not one & your webpage does not have a back button for us to go back & see. They then say that we would get the code after the vehicle inspection page, but again that does not make any since because how can we inspect the vehicle without the key? It was frustrating to get conflicting information from your agent. Finally after being on hold, passed around to several diff agents, & 45 minutes after our reservation was suppose to start we were able to get a code for the padlock & retrieve the vehicle key. This delay caused us a lot of frustration. I hate people that just complain, but do not offer any solutions to the problem. I think if you fixed the app & the location sharing errors this would help, especially as y'all move more towards automation & pushing customers to be self-sufficient enabling you to lower costs & save money. I would also suggest you improve the check in process & allow customers to move backwards on the mobile webpage to make sure they haven't missed any vital info. Lastly, but still significantly I would suggest you make sure your customer service team is well staffed & educated on how to serve your customer. It was frustrating being put on hold for so long, just to be passed around to diff agents who could not help, and then to be told conflicting information when an agent was trying to assist. You should also have your reservation system & customer service agents able to pull up my reservation/info & give me the code for the lockbox. Again I want to stress that our issue was not with the Kingwood UHaul Team. They were great & I have no hesitation using that location in the future. My issue/problem is with your app & check in process. I hope my feedback is useful.
Thomas SNeed to fix door and make sure mileage charge are fair and prices so people can rent with freedom but it was pretty much a good place compare to others . There were few thing broken when I rented , for it so i hope they dont charge me for other faults . for what was broken

Everytime me or my boyfriend have picked up, the people in store and at the 833 number are always "unable" to locate any of the places that we could drop off. Everyone seems to pass the buck to the next person to figure out.
Amanda ETried to use app to check in after hours. Typed in zip code for location and it never went any further. Kept saying I had to allow my location to be seen by U-Haul. I don't want U-Haul or anyone else tracking me.

Jose MSuper helpful staff! Went above and beyond to check my vehicle for any issues after I reported a problem with the lights on the traile I rented. They wanted to make sure the trailer didn't blow a fuse in my truck. Super helpful! Wish I would have gotten their name to call out. It was on Easter too!
Kendrick JI am giving you a rating of Below Average, but you need to understand it was not due to your employees, they did everything in their power to help us, but because of a server issue, that apparently happens at month end every month, we had to wait more than 90 minutes to get our rental. Nothing could be done manually it has to go through the computers which were all not working, not even that app. At one point 4 or 5 of your employees had my order up on their screens trying to get one of them to work. Then when we finally get to the point they could process my order, they didn't have an appliance dolly that I requested, so they offered a furniture dolly. So we finally have a key, we get in the truck and start the process on the phone, but we have to go back inside the office because the license plate doesn't match the truck we are in AND the truck only has 1/4 tank of gas and was supposed to have 1/2 tank. When we go back in they realize they gave us the wrong key, so we get in a different vehicle check the gas and the license plate, and start to our destination 90 minutes later. When we get to where we are going...low and behold, no dolly of any kind in the truck, apparently it was put in the wrong truck as well. Now, I am going to say again, the staff was working diligently to help, but their hands were tied because of the system outage company wide...WHY don't you have a system in place where these can be done manually so that customers don't have to go through this, especially if this occurs at month end every month? Very disappointing to say the least. I said yes, regarding the equipment, because once we got in the right truck, it was clean and seemed to run fine. I also said I would recommend a friend to this location because the staff was very nice...but I will warn them to find a different company if they need a truck around month end.

Jessica DI wish that the cargo van had a flat bottom because boxes fall over while driving it. The rubber cover over the top of the bottom of the van (which is wave like and uneven) does not help make it flat. Otherwise this is a great vehicle to drive.

Floyd CTried to do a contactless pickup. To get my key, I used the app. In the app, it says to look for a lock box and shows a picture. While it DID show me the box, it didn't tell me which one or the code to unlock the box. When I asked for help at the front desk, she couldn't figure it out either (because no code was given to me to unlock the lock). She contacted the manager and he was incredibly rude to his worker to the point it made me uncomfortable. Almost as if he was treating her like she was dumb. All in all, unfriendly experience with a worn down truck.

The security of this place is atrocious, with cameras not working correctly and anyone being able to access. Not until my valuables were stolen did it change. When I asked about how to go about getting compensation for my valuables I was told it wasn't their problem and they couldn't help me. I will never use U-Haul again or recommend them to anyone. The staff was great and very helpful, the Manager need to find a new line of work.

The only genuine and nice person was an African American man that didn't even work in the inside and he was super helpful and kind - love to see it. My storage unit was locked due to the lights being off which caused me to not get important belongings that I needed to have for that week. Prices also went up? Experience wasn't terrible just little things I wanted to add. Storage unit is very clean, security is good, and the only thing I truly didn't like was my storage was on the second floor which made it difficult getting my belongings.

Seeing as I lived out of state that wasn't good for me. Then when I finally did move out it took the entire month of august to get it completed. The first manager Zach gave me the run around but the second manager Zach finch was a great help to me and I greatly appreciate his dedication to the move out. Zack Finch went above and beyond for his job and handled my situation in a very professional manner. ZACH FINCH DESERVES A RAISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The climate controlled benefit was a definite plus for me. I felt safe during my periodic visits and enjoyed the convenience of their access hours.
JOYCE M | Expérience généraleAfter being a customer for over 2 years, we were treated horribly. We never had any issue of any kind up until the last 4 months or so. I when to use my access card one night and it was declined and after speaking to the manager James he told me that our access hours had been restricted to business hours only. I asked him what the reason was and he stated that it was because another U-Haul customer who happened to be homeless had gone into the bathrooms of every building and made a mess a showered and did other things that were not allowed. I asked him what did we personally do and he said nothing but I guess since we were homeless too he said he had to put a stop to it therefore restricting our access hours. From that point on anytime we did go into our storage building we were constantly watched harassed by a worker or told to leave or that we couldn't be in there as if we had done something wrong and were criminals when as I stated we had never done anything to break any kind of rules whatsoever. I recently had to start chemotherapy so this last month we were late on our rent and our total was $49.95. before I could even pay it I received a call from you all telling me that we had to move all of our stuff out immediately when I asked if his to speak to James he did not want to talk. I made a call to corporate told them the situation and the next day James called apologized and told me that we could stay there and use their facility but we would have to check in with the office and have restricted access or we could just get our stuff out and they would settle for a $0 amount. We decided that we would rather take our stuff out of the storage then to be at a place like that where your customers that have been loyal are treated as if they are criminals. In conclusion we are appalled by the way we were treated for absolutely no reason other than being homeless apparently. I would not recommend the storage facility to anybody nor will I ever rent from there again.

I rented a unit that would not fit the item i needed after the third time I was told that they didn't have a unit the size i needed and i was arriving from Dallas i had to cancel and find another storage place. I have always used your facility over the years but i will never use it again i will drive a little farther to use a different one.

I wasn't told this until the day before I moved-in. I was also told 24 hours before my move-in that the size unit I wanted was not available. I should've been told this long before. I had to get a smaller unit, on the 2nd floor, and I'm hardly able to access it. My login card and code do not work, and the office people could not figure it out and ultimately weren't able to get me one. With hours closing at 10 and my work schedule weird, that kinda sucks. I would not recommend this location. The people have been friendly, but the operations are not smooth at all.

I reserved a furniture dolly and didn't receive it and nothing was mentioned about a credit, although once I mentioned it it was credited. I was given a truck with 7/8 tank of gas and when i turned it back in it was reported that it was empty, i drove less than 10 miles and also put more gas in so someone had to verify. Why not just start the day with the tanks full and the customer return it the same way. 7/8 is not the easiest to guess.

They were busy, I was shown the unit's location, left with a stair ladder which I personally didn't feel comfortable climbing; told to check the unit and put the cumbersome ladder away myself; then meet back inside to get my access card (which I had to stand in line Again to recieve). He asked was the unit okay, I said, "We'll see after the 1st. I'm moving from a 25 x 10 unit of 4 years and will still need to keep a storage unit of some size.". I was told that other, larger units were available if needed, and I left the store with that 'option'. I was left a message 2 days later, and again on day #3 because I hadn't gone back and placed a lock, or any items into the storage unit yet. The number I was called from was unmanned? I never reached a live person at the Kingwood store... *Note* Most people move on or about the first of the month, which landed midweek just last week. I also specified After the 1st... Moreover, There was no call to alert me to the fact that the inconvenient, 2nd floor, 5x5 unit, accessible only by a jagged step ladder at Kingwood U-Haul was cancelled- exactly 2 weeks & a day into the 1 month rental... Thanks for the survey to let me know of the cancellation. More accessible units/contracts exist... The helpful, friendly, busy, Kingwood staff could've called/left a message first.

Every time the employees are helpful and friendly, even had an employee help me load an item into a vehicle from storage. The storage unit's have been clean and I felt confident my belongings would be safe. The trucks/van I have rented were in good shape and available on my reservation and at pickup. If I need a uhaul or storage again, I will return to this location.
