They said it would be emailed to me but after 3 days of not getting it I find out they lost the keys and couldn't check it in??? In general the Uhaul sites I contacted never answered there phone and never returned my calls. They Uhaul customer service group were very helpful and polite each time I called them.

Also, I made the reservation online, so I was hoping for a quick run in and grab the trailer, but that is not how it went.

When we picked up the car carrier the next day Nolan (manager) was quick to credit us with gas to offset the problem! He also helped us load our car on the car carrier.
Gerard AndelnourThe steering for the truck we rented had an excessive amount of play, i.e., 3 or more inches off both sides of center during driving. I can only imagine what a less-experienced driver would face in an emergency situation with this vehicle. For what you're charging, the condition of this truck is completely unacceptable. I'll likely look for another location to rent from next time. Beyond that issue, the personnel were professional and efficient.

James SofetWe rented a 20' truck and tow dolly for our car. We were advised to bring the truck back after the truck was loaded so that the personnel at the pickup location could hook up the tow dolly to the truck and properly put the car on the dolly. I thought this was a great idea. We did this. The person that recommended this service was not there when we returned.The young man that helped us needs training on how to do this process. I questioned how the straps were to be put into the winch system he told me one thing and did it a different way. I only questioned this due to the instructions on the winch. This got corrected. We went back to our house to clean and make sure we had loaded everything. I noticed that when looking in the side mirrors on the truck that I could see the car in tow on the left side of the truck and not on the right side. We discovered the car was not on the tow dolly straight . I had mentioned to the person helping us load the car that it did not feel quite right. He said it looked fine. I had to unload the car and load it back on the dolly. After this was done the car trailed the truck straight. I just want to say the people were nice and helpful. I just feel that the employees may need further training on the procedure.

I was left stranded for over an hour outside at my local U-Haul destination. I had taken an uber to get there, and upon being told id have to wait until morning I realized I was stuck , as Id depended on U-Haul to have the keys and other items necessary ready for my arrival. Unfortunately this was not the cased and being a single female with several bags including my purse this was quite dangerous at midnight to be left alone. I ended up taking the keys to a truck someone else had reserved for 8am the following morning but it was a complete waste of time and money as I was unable to retrieve my items from the vehicle I towed to Calabash because I didn't have enough time and didnt want to be charged additional fees. It was truly awful

While moving out and checking out I was assured I would not have anymore charges on my credit card, but I was charged for both units again anyways. The GM was left a detailed not to call me and has yet to call me back about any of this and has yet to answer my calls or texts. I was supposed to pick up a moving truck at 9am and didn't get it until 10am and the movers I hired were getting paid just to stand around while I waited for this circus. And the movers that were recommended by the U-Haul online were nasty and so very unprofessional and refused to finish moving my stuff, I had to finish it myself while listening to them hurl obscenities at me and cuss me out. I would never recommend Littlejohns movers to anyone, they were rude, lazy and older than Moses! They did not know what in the world they were doing. They were just hood rats with nasty foul mouth and attitudes!! Threw my belongings around and kept saying f this, busted up my furniture and appliances, just a very ugly and unpleasant experience!! I was so stressed!!! Then U-Haul asked me a favor in bringing back an auto transporter, unfortunately I agreed. When I went to drop it off the U-Haul person didn't know how to unhook it from the truck, refused my reimbursement and threatened to call the police on me if I left with it! The gall!! No more favors from me!! Very very very horrible experience from beginning to end!! So yeah no U-Haul for me or anyone I know ever again!!

When I arrived the associate had an issue with billing me properly and almost charged me $1 624 instead of my first month free since I had just rented a U-Haul trailer. I was given a key card for my unit and brought my trailer over to the "10X5" unit. The unit was not 5 feet wide as I measured it and it was at least 5 inches under. The unit was also not a climate controlled unit. I had to drive back over to the office with my trailer with other trucks blocking the way and switch to a larger unit 10X10. The associate issued me a new key card for a larger unit. I drove over to the new unit and this one was also NOT climate controlled. I drove back to the office and the employee was vaping inside the building. I was finally issued a keycard for a 10X10 climate controlled unit at last. There were no light sources outside of the doorway entrance into the unit hallway so I could not see anything trying to unload my trailer which was very dangerous and difficult to say the least.

This happened to me, and the location manager nolan refused to help in anyway as he is useless when it comes to customer service. Contacted HQ and it was addressed properly as he was found to be at fault .

Mark Horan | Premières impressionsThe unit I rented, had an area inside of it that is 5×5 that was completely blocked off and unusable to me. That is 1/8th of the total area that I couldn't use. I asked about a price break since I couldn't use that area, got a big fat nope. But I needed it, so I took it. But, that showed me what kind of company I was dealing with, and said all I needed to know to get a different place. I see that as blatant false advertising when you're renting a 10×20 unit and you're getting a unit that you can't use 25 sq ft of. And to charge the same rate as a fully useable 10×20 space ?? That's just wrong. So yeah, you lost a $250 a month renter, cuz you wouldn't make a $30 concession. The people and place are great, just didn't like the full price fee for a unit I couldn't use 1/8th of. And if you don't think 1/8th is a lot, cut your pay by 1/8 and see if you still don't think it's a lot. Other than that, all was good.

We ended up paying an entire months rental for 2 boxes even though we only had them 2 days of the 30 day cycle. $150 for 2 days. It was not Uhauls fault at all, but still very frustrating.

So, after spending 1800+ dollars on uhaul trucks and vans, thinking we'd save a little with the free month of storage, driving the truck 45mph the whole way, because it sounded like a bag of hammers, coming to a pitch dark storage unit, unable to see after 7:30 pm, aka after work, missing 2 weeks of being productive because the domino effect of a virus trickling its way down to the kids and finally to our elderly mother, I get told, sorry...PAY UP. SO that'd be my experience.

Spoke with managers and general managers - to no avail. Mean, ugly people have worked at this location, extremely nasty people to deal with. Went to empty my unit, a non-payment lock was on my unit. - I'm on auto-payment? When manager went to my unit, told me this was due to non-payment, then changed his mind and told me it was because there was no lock on unit, which is impossible because U-Haul requires every unit to purchase a lock? I closed out my unit on the 5th and was told I would not be billed. When I arrive at your facility I was told that there were not units available. I explained that I had a reservation and showed her the reservation number. I was told that reservations are not a guarantee. She did not have that size unit available and did not know why I was told that they did. She was not able to help me look at any other locations near by. She did offer me a larger unit for $100 more a month than what I was paying. I asked her if I could get the same rate as the smaller unit I was promised and she said No we don't do that. I will never rent from U-haul again.

She really did not get any of my info or my questions/needs for storage and did not even make an attempt to see if something was coming up soon. Please be advised that I struggled to get into your office with my rollator walker because I am handicapped and cannot walk without it. I left disappointed and in about a month I called into this same office and was greeted by a male employee, who was so very helpful and advised that the small unit I was requesting was available, but on a first come basis. I got in my car and was at the office within the hour. The female whom I had previously dealt with was sitting at the desk, while the gentleman was standing behind her. She recognized me (due to my handicap and equipment I needed to get into the office) and promptly got up and walked into the back room without saying a word to me. I was assisted by the same gentleman I had talked to on the phone and he was so very pleasant and helpful in getting me a unit right away. All else went well with my relationship at UH-5433(A).

I filled the truck up with gas upon return and the truck had very little gas in it when I received it. This was a cost I did not know I did not have to spend. I was unloading the truck in three storage units there and asked to leave it until I found some more help. I did not realized I would be charged everyday for a dolly while it sat there but I was. As I moved out of my units over the next years the staff became very short handed, The manager had left and the new manager was overwhelmed. There was a huge disagreement upon my moving out of my last unit. I called many times however the phone always rang busy, the day I checked out I explained that I had called many times that day and it just rand busy or i got a message, I had called corporate about my concerns and they told me to call a different office, which i did. He said I would need to talk to the Little River office which I had tried so I could have my bill paid and move out efficiently as I had about a six hour drive. The manager yelled at me and walked out, saying I had not called and wouldn't even take my payment, refused the check, which was the same account the payment came from every month. My debit card had been lost without my knowledge and the bank had canceled it the previous month. I was not aware of this for about 30 days, They waited on the other employees while i stood there. I explained I had two heart surgeries and really needed to go. Kristen replied "yeah I saved your life and called 911 when you went down here" Which she did and I thanked her. However she said she did not want to hear my Pity Party everyone had problems. I had had 2 heart surgeries and was in the hospital over ten times in last year. therefore .I didn't realize my card did not go through. After missing the first payment she charged late fees every week or two then charge a $50 lien fee when I was there to move out within a month of being late. She screamed at me and walked out leaving no one in the office to take my money and check me out. The checkout process took over an hour. I finally walked outside to find all three workers huddled together having a conversation and not a one working. It was only at that time that I got her to come in and check me out. I had asked for a total receipt for my storage units when I first got there and she did not give me one. I asked again when i was finally allowed to pay and she said "You can get one from corporate" and she walked out with without giving me the receipt I requested. I kept my workers on the speaker phone while in the office as she was out of control and they said they could hear her screaming. I told him to walk back up to the office, The office is so understaffed she can not handle it and is probably he reason Donna left. I always swept my units out when leaving and left them in very good condition, They need help.

I owned a Uhaul appliance dolley that my company purchased and it was removed/taken/stolen from out of our unit and management requested proof of a receipt even though, it was our property stored in our unit at the first day of renting the storage unit. As those we listed as an emergency contact have been harrassed by your company repetitively with text, emails, and letters. Maybe the accounting was a misunderstanding on my part, however, the removal of any property out of our rented united should not have happened under any circumstance. I am not familiar with South Carolina law. Currently inquiring with legal council to advise me of my rights addressing the removal if my Uhaul appliance fully. I am searching records for proof of ownership and will provide the proof of purchase upon locating the receipt. Manager was rude, unprofessional, and the best sells person public storage and all Uhauls competition ever had. Intend to follow up with corporate on this matter. Regards

The men that work there act like you kicked their dog if you even speak to them. Be cautious renting equipment from them. They will rent you dollies that they know are broken and inoperable. When you tell them so and ask them for operable equipment they just laugh and say they won't rent it to anyone else as they're putting it back on display for rental. And they will not refund your money.
