I want to specifically state that Leron(e) (spelling?) the manager on that day and his entire team went above and beyond and were absolutely amazing. I was very much wanting to tip them for the steps that they took to help finish my move. One thing, not sure what your standards are for a unit being ready, but there were a lot of rat poison traps in the unit that was offered to us. I understand that it was very last minute and again so grateful for the amazing extra steps that the team took however, I don't know how someone else might feel opening up their storage unit to find a lot of rat poison in it. Overall, though I recommend U-Haul and U-Haul storage to anybody who is moving or needs a place to keep extra things.

It was a great experience. The location was nice and they had a large selection of vehicles. Most of them were new. Laron helped me for the pickup and drop off. He was quick and explained everything to me. He also checked to make sure I did not need anything else before I left. The drop off was quick and easy as well, even with the rain.

Make sure that the lights and everything is up to date when I got my truck I checked the lights and one head light wasn't working so they had to return that truck and offer me another one.

Rob who checked me out of my uhaul was very helpful. There was a lot of ppl and folks started to assist in the process. But I think there needs to be 2 ppl for every part of the process. One person cannot so it all.

This experience was completely different from every other location around the area I have rented from. We rent trucks for catering events so it is a common occurance. This location wanted the card I used to secure the rental in person. Never been asked this before as I commonly rent the trucks and have staff go pick them up. They didnt want to give the truck to my employee even though I had registered him as a driver. The truck had garbage in it. The truck had less than 3/8th of a tank of gas but we were told that we needed to refill to a half tank which was ridiculous. Also the front, passenger side, tire was 30lbs lower than the other 4 so not exactly safe. I have a picture showing the gas level and tire pressure that my employee sent me right after he picked the truck up if you would like to see the proof. Just overall a bad experience, and I will not be renting from this location anymore.

Laron was extremely helpful despite my arriving shortly before the office closed. He went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of on short notice, and told me if things didn't work out with my storage unit size to come back in and he'd help me figure out next steps. Really appreciate his kindness and will for sure be recommending this location.

The U-Haul staff were all friendly and helpful every time I needed to communicate with them. The only negative point I have is that my locker was broken into sometime between 24 Feb and 16 March by someone who cut the U-HAUL lock that was securing the door. I lost a queen mattress and many personal items that I was storing for friends who shared an apartment with me. I did turn in to the manager evidence that was dumped into my locker that may identify the person(s) that stole the items. Fortunately, I did take out insurance when I rented the locker.

check in process was very slow and unorganized. no direction on how to check fuel. fuel was over reported and filled back up to MORE than the level I left with and still got charged more. bad experience over all.

I reserved online and was greeted by Errin at the counter. She brought a truck forth that she stated had bad tire pressure so she took it back to be restocked. I would ask why she didn't notice before bringing it to the front? So she calls to the back for another truck and Ron brought forth another truck. This truck had no license plate and when I asked why it had no plate Ron told me the plate had been stolen off of the truck. I informed him I was using the truck for a church event and that was unacceptable. He stated that he could tape it on and I refused. I asked if I could have another truck and he instantly became hostile in nature. Telling me that its none of my business and to just take the truck. I went inside and addressed Errin. She was rude and raised her voice. She stated that it was not their responsibility to check the plates on the truck before bringing them forth and that its the responsibility of the attendant who receives the truck upon return. I challenged her and stated that's incorrect and it should be examined before releasing the truck to the renter. I grabbed the business card of Calvin Fritz and dialed him. I explained the situation to him and he apologized. While I was on the phone with him, Erinn and Ron were still being rude and disrespectful. It was not the experience I cared to have and I honestly dont care to ever rent from there again but I hate taking business away from our black businesses as a result of bad service. That's why Oakland doesn't have a WalMart or any type of sports teams now. We must be excellent in all of our pursuits and Erinn and Ron were not.

The people who work there really make the difference. I was greeted immediately when I entered the store. The woman who rented the van was fantastic. When I got outside, another gentleman asked if I needed any help. Then when I returned the vehicle, I was greeted like a long lost friend. Its the employees who make this location so great.

Largan (sorry I may have mangled his name, young black man) was amazing in his service. I've not had great service there 10 years ago (I'm a storage customer have been for decades). But this young man was great. As was Jewmarcus who helped me in returning my truck. Very happy with the current workers there. Also the manager, I think I dealt with when I reserved this and he was also great.

Wait times are becoming much less, It is a pleasure now, I used to dread renting from u haul because it took so long to rent anything, after all who is renting, what to rent, and a payment, boom all done. Much better now. But there is always room for improvement.

I asked for and was charged for 10 furniture pads. I never got the pads. After returning the trailer in Salem I received a call saying I had not returned the pads. I then called back and was routed to the after hours number. I was told the charge for the pads would be reversed.

Access convenient was a no coz on 2/18/24 Sunday it says access 5am-10pm but when we arrived at 7pm the gate wasn't opening when I did my check in and online and phone people couldn't help to explain why or how. Staff at facility was excellent but chat and phone people need more training coz they don't know the facility info and how to help in that sense. But everything else was fine.

The facilities were good. I only wish that the interior of the the storage space had better lighting. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The online process was confusing and difficult. It assigned me a unit that was so far from any door and I am disabled. Thankfully when I spoke to Laron in the office he was patient and understanding. He was able to transfer me to a more accessible unit quickly and overall was just so helpful! He then arranged for another staff member to walk me to my unit so I would know exactly how to get there. His actions and help definitely made up for how difficult the online process was.

Yes yes yes yesssss this is a very good place to store belongings. The alarm went off why ? I don't know, when I opened my storage unit and someone came out immediately to investigate. I told him it was me. I don't know why it keeps going off but very helpful and friendly all the time. Sometimes long wait in line but always cordial and helpful.

My unit got broken into and items were stolen. Just because I don't have insurance doesn't mean I don't want to know if they found out who did it. The manager assured me she would give me a call once they reviewed the footage. Nothing, which led me to why I moved out. Also during move out there was water damage to my stuff I had to throw away photo albums and clothes due to its damage. We informed the office and they said if I think there was a flood a while back. Never once apologized for not calling once again when there was an issue. Terrible service and facility, been a customer for over 10years and this is how we were treated. So happy to move out!

The copy on the website said there would be a lock in the storage unit, waiting for me. There wasn't. I had to go back to the office to get one. But most unbelievably, which ruined my moving plans for the day (and the next day), the facility closed at 7pm even though the website said there would be storage access until 10pm. I arrived ten minutes before 7pm only to be told I couldn't load anything into the unit.

This was the cleanest and nicest facility and staff and Management with Shavana, Mgr. Impressed with the service, orderly store and grounds. I found both the staff and facility very professional. I would like to focus on the lady who originally helped me. Her name was Shivawn. She e the overall experience wonderful and went out of her way to see that t needs were met. Clone her! This was the best storage experience I've have had.

The access hours I were shown on the website were 5am to 10pm Monday through Sunday. This was also on the paper I was given when I did my move in at the counter. No other times had been communicated to me I had rented and truck as well and was bringing my last load to the storage unit to finish out the move and was going to return the truck immediately after. We arrived at 8:15pm and the storage unit was already closed for the night with the shutter over the door. Because of this I had to scramble to find a place to store the full truck and extend my rental to finish the next day, as well as drive extra miles for the wasted trip. This resulted in me having to pay more for my truck rental than I would have otherwise

Nice customer service. Very customer service oriented. Kudos for that. That's a first in a long time here in Oakland. Took care and time to help me. Didn't have the free lock so substituted another one. Took me to my locker. Took time to show me how to get there. The manager was very friendly. Great lady for the position. She likes what she does. The place was clean. I felt safe. My what I thought was a small unit had plenty of space for what I needed.

I had the manager, Calvin, assist me with both a truck and a storage unit. He was incredibly patient, professional and was able to make things smooth. Even when I came back to close out, he had a line and was able to take care of it quick and easy. He made it such an easy experience that if I need the service again, I'll be sure to search him out. Very impressive.

The hours are wrong. Usually 7am - 7pm. Not 5am - 10 pm as it says on the website. I didn't see these new hours posted anywhere. It was frustrating because I rented a truck and got here only to be told I had to come back the next day. Waste of time and money. Don't come here.

On the U-Haul website, app, and maps said this location was open until ten, when it actually closes at 7pm. Every time I called no one ever called me back. Any time I tried talking to staff it took over a half an hour in line. The bathrooms had missing faucets and messy.

This storage unit was given to me for one night, in mid-July, to store my belongings because the Ubox people failed to fulfill their contract for the umpteenth time and I was left stranded without access to my box once again. I told Uhaul Oakland I was done with the storage unit the next day. I went online to "move out" of the storage unit. Since then I have received numerous emails from Uhaul Oakland telling me my rent is due. Uhaul Oakland has been by far the most disorganized and disappointing organization I have ever worked with. To add to the whole experience, many of the workers think that customer service means gaslighting and combativeness. I decline to "resolve any disputes" any longer; in my experience with them, nothing ever gets resolved.

Storage is well lit and secured but hav and the 15ft truck does not fit, you have to walk really far to get to the unit no other entrance for it, the reason why i cancelled my unit, some of the stuff are friendly i forgot to ask they guys name but other staff in tje front desk does not have a pleasing personality.

This is the review I left on Yelp and Google reviews if anyone cares I would warn anyone before choosing this U-Haul location (or any U-Haul). The service is horrible. They have a young man working there who doesn't care about helping people. He was supposed to walk and show me my unit - we couldn't find it and then he ends up walking away and scrolling on his phone. Seriously ??? I finally found a unit, moved in. And, when it was time to move out, I did so. I confirmed my move out in person, got a receipt and returned my key. But I was charged for an additional month!! I noticed they hadn't "moved" me out in their records. I called the main U-Haul line and this Oakland line. I called 5 times!!! The service was horrendous - people hung up on me, people said they'd call me back, people said they couldn't help. Like what?! Then I had to DRIVE all the way back to this Oakland location (mind you, I've moved out of the area) just to get my refund and be "moved" out in their records. And with no apology. Beware.

System down. It took 5 units before they found an empty one. Given there was only one entrance, that was 40 minutes of walking I had to pay my labor extra for because the software could not identify empty units.

The store manager was very nice, but the facility was understaffed and she was juggling way too much. The first person who helped me was cold and rude. The unit size I reserved was not available despite being reserved within the green range of dates where it's supposed to be guaranteed. The bathroom near the unit was completely flooded. The unit is difficult to load as there's no direct access, and the sliding access door closes too quickly to pick up items again after sliding the key card. Two of the garage doors for cars to load were not functional, adding even more distance to carry items to the unit. I waited about an hour just to get a key to a unit to move in.

We stood at the front desk for two hours after already reserving a unit online. Apparently somebody took our unit and we had to ad a yea time on a different location where we rented the U-Haul because they were taking so long. We saw many people come and go while we just stood there. We told them our information about six times. And after we finally got a unit it was a five min walk plus an elevator. We told them we had a lot of really heavy stuff and needed to be close. So we had to wait again and we got one close this time but after we paid n got the key, our ten by ten unit was actually very very small and not a ten by ten unit at all. So we weren't even able to put all of our stuff in there. It was absolutely horrible. Especially for our first experience there. 1/10.

Then I come and they say 7am-7pm I brought a 10' truck and the email for the unit I'm renting didn't notify me that the clearance to the tunnel was 7' Manager and workers were very helpful to clarify. The app, website, and two Uhaul employees told me the storage unit was accessible after office hours from 5 am to 10 pm every day. I drove all the way from Los Angeles to Oakland to find out that the storage unit was inaccessible and had to park my Uhaul overnight, stressed that it would be broken into. I decided to go with Public Storage since they have accurate storage hours.

The gentleman that did our rental registration was great he was professional and very helpful. It wasn't until we had to deal with the associate name Ashley when we returned our equipment that we encountered poor service. Ashley was very unprofessional, rude, careless attitude, and a very bad representation of that establishment. I can only suggest some customer service training for Ashley and if she truly is a manager at that facility, then her negative behavior is a reflection of how she operates and represents the company. I strongly recommend a promotion to the gentleman who completed our rental registration his service to us was excellent.

Property manager is running a long standing bait and switch scam. Rental contract states that storage access is 5am to 10pm. Office hours are 7am to 7pm. In reality the storage facility is only open during office hours. I asked several employees, and was told by all that the storage facility has never been open from 5am to 10pm, that it has always been 7am to 7pm, but the manager requires that they lie to customers until after they have rented a storage unit. There are also customer reviews on website going back over a year with same complaint. When I called customer support, they contacted the manager and he lied to them, saying that access hours had recently changed. I rented the unit only one day before. When I got into the unit the next day, I saw that the type of door that is on the storage facility can't be operated remotely by keypad, and can only be operated manually by employees during office hours, so there has never been a time that this facility could be accessed by renters from 5am to 10pm.

Very clean facility and helpful staff. One complaint is an employee gave me incorrect information that cost us a lot of time and money; he said that the biggest truck we could rent to pull up to the loading dock was a 15' foot truck, so we rented that truck and had to make 2 trips. Turns out we could've done it with a 26' foot truck. Since we were paying professional movers to load and unload, this turned out to be a really expensive mistake.

Only issue I have is when I vacated the storage I was told by one clerk that my monthly payment would be pro-rated and I'd receive a refund for 1/2 a month. After I moved and went to the front desk to receive credit, I was told that they don't pro-rate and that I had no refund coming.

My Uhaul needed to get jumped twice The battery died and was Corroded I bought to many boxes and tried returning them and the manager was unwilling to take them back The employee and manager were eating McDonald's food while assisting me. My experience here was fine but my only complaint is when they moved our unit twice without and any notice or warning. I only found out when I went to the unit only to find out it was moved. I felt an invasion of privacy. The only calls ever made to us was to tell me about a late fee. Ultimately this is the reason I moved out.

I don't appreciate our storage units being moved around and not being notified and then we have a smaller unit than what we actually paid for so we should be due some sort of refund. Some of our items have mold in them and we had to throw them out yesterday. This is like the second or third time that our unit has been moved and it's unfair that we pay for the larger unit but then we could put into a smaller unit. Please look into this matter thank you your staff at the front desk the gentleman that help me yesterday they were two African-American guys were very pleasant but unfortunately you could tell didn't quite know where the stuff was so it took a few minutes to locate the unit but overall they were very pleasant and very helpful . Please be advised that we have been with you guys for years and our storage unit has been moved numerous times and we weren't notified the time. Did you guys move us we would find out when we randomly came to check on our storage u it.

There is a window in the storage unit. First, know that there is a window as the experts I would expect you to blackout and waterproof that window. You did neither. My couch and chairs has exposure and water damage because of your neglect. I have filed a claim but this is your neglect and should never happened.

The only complaint is the guys that help un load the truck was really helpful but did not disclose there ridiculous fee for helping I think this was a tricky move on the trying to charge almost $400 to unload our truck. I have a concern as when I checked in, I was requested to pay the first month of storage, even though when I had booked my reservation online for the truck rental 1-way, it was stated that the first month of storage would be offered. The guy at the counter did not want to know anything about it and said that they were not honoring this offer in this facility. I would like to have some explanation, since my ci formation email states that the first payment would be required on Dec. 30th.

I don't know what happened to the staff before the ones that is there now. All I know is that this staff are unpleasant, rude and unprofessional. No one greets you when you're at the counter and there's no eye contact from any of them. I've used this location to store my belongings many times. The staff at that time where great. The only staff members that were professional and kind were the mother and daughter that kept the storage area clean. I will NEVER use the location again.

My only "gripe" or misunderstanding was the placement of the additional lock on my storage unit??? I was not behind on any rental fees but when I needed to get access to my unit I had to wait for a staff member to remove uhaul's lock. On several occasions this was a major inconvenience. I was never provided an answer to my numerous questions regarding this procedure.

Great DIY service facilitator, the best. Kind of scary with the width of the wheel wells in the six by eight trailer while driving through road construction areas where they use concrete standing balustrades as it feels so narrow and the trailer feels so wide. It is also important to drive slightly to the right of center in the lane so that the trailer wheels don't go over the lane into the other lane. But I definately needed this particular sized trailer for the ammount of my remaining things. All good, all safe. Job well done, excellent service.

The staff were friendly, taking the time to assist me in obtaining the appropriate storage size. The U-Haul guidance for storage units was way off. I ordered the 6x8x8, based on website information. The staff assisted me in determining my household goods would fit in a 10x10 unit. I'm fact, there was little room left in the 10x10 unit.

The individual units are simply too far from the entrance. There's also not enough light in the units. Otherwise, it's a clever re-use of an existing space.

The manager did a great job I don't know his name but I do know that he was under a lot of stress because there was a murder that happened. I feel that he should've been able to get off work due to the circumstances for the rest of the day. I've had storages with you guys for over seven years. So far it's been a good experience I'll give props to the manager and the employees for having to deal with what happened that day thank you very much.

The only issue I have with this storage facility is i cannot get my refund for 28 days overpayment. I feel like I've been Robbed. There is no way that I shouldn't be given a refund. My good faith for paying in advance without fail should not end with me losing. The employees were lovely but your business practice is horrible.

I waited 20 minutes to get someone to open the gate so I could move my boat. This was right after letting the front desk know that's where I was headed. No one would answer the call phone. Same when calling on the phone. I had to walk back to the front desk to get someone to open the the gate.

I forget the managers name but she is the sweetest woman on earth and the entire staff could not be a more friendlier and helpful bunch. They helped me out in a time of need and made me feel good. Staff was friendly, but this place was a pain. Tons of issues including incorrect office hours, storage units being very far from where the U-Haul truck can park, mechanical issues with the gate, mechanical issues with the truck, reserved equipment not being available, and the staff accidentally putting a lock on our unit. None of these issues (besides the difficult physical distance between the unit and truck parking) would have been that big of deal, except this place is seriously understaffed to the point where every little question meant waiting in line for at least 20 minutes. Nothing against the workers, but this place is horribly managed. Would definitely not use again.

The staff was not able to attend to telephone calls because the facility is so busy. Several times I was placed indefinitely on hold; however they were friendly and helpful in person. The electronic entry card didn't work and I always had to seek help.

After a terrible sequence of moving faux pas leading up to arriving here, I entered the building close to tears in exasperation. The kind staff saw my hardship and went above and beyond to help me feel cared for and meet my needs. Huge props to Kyreen, who hooked me up with a last minute storage unit and let me vent, to Nathan who got me settled and helped me unload, and Carlos for being so kind Thank you to the friendliest team ever

My unit was very far and there was a huge support boulder in the middle taking up much of the space. I called for assistance using the uhaul assistance buttons located throughout the storage, however no one answered. This posed a safety concern to me. Also, online told me I have access until 10pm however the day of my love in I came at 7pm and was told I did not have access. The online process was very tiring. The next day I came back and spoke with the staff in the main office and they were very accommodating. They assisted me in getting a new unit. Gave me a lock. We're very kind and assisted me in locating the unit. They apologized for the call buttons not working and stated they'd make a note. They were able to save my very negative first experiences.

Discus lock that was supposed to be inside the unit was not inside the unit but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and fixed the situation without hesitation. I didn't get their names but they should get raises. Just give all your employees raises and you'll have your bases covered.

I have been taking care of this storage for a friend for the past 5 years. After the flood, the storage contents were "thrown" into storage boxes and sent to the Hayward facility. When I went to see the contents, they were so mixed up that I couldn't get to them. They tried to triple the price! I am "not" moving out. U-haul moved the contents to Hayward where it will remain until the original owner returns. I am satisfied with the personell that they have at that facility..they are very accommodating.

I stored here based on the access hours listed on website but when I arrived my unit wasn't available although my is it was reserved well in advance and also access hours were incorrect. I ended up having to take a unit half the size I needed/wasn't able to access my belongings as needed due to website being incorrect. I was told I would be contacted regarding this matter since I created a case with customer service but was never contacted. I advised the office and was told I had to store for at least six months to have later access hours. So honoring the access hours from the website was possible just didn't want too.

I want my money back. The storage charged me 0,91 cents when the sign stated 0,87 cents for boxes. The representative never offered a refund or a solution when I brought it to my attention. Instead I was told maybe uhaul raised the prices and haven't sent new signage. That is U-Hauls problem to make sure the prices are correct and signage is in place, NOT THE CUSTOMER. Which means that U-Haul is STEALING money from their customers! That change adds up and is done in a non suspecting way.

When I first checked in staff was amazing. When I went to close my storage I dealt with the general manager and another stuff who were extremely rude and making jokes about me as I walked up because I said I didn't have help to clear my storage. I'm not sure how he got his position. But I will be filing a complaint.

When buying the storage unit I was told to get a lock because its needed with the unit; on U-Haul website it said id get the lock for free. When I realized I was being charged for it I showed the cashier and he basically shrugged it off saying "oh yeah I wasn't aware of that, looks like you do get it for free" turn proceeded to charge me. When I was getting the truck the guy asked my how many miles am I driving, how would I know? That should be fine at the end when I return the van not at the beginning. So I just said 10. then it got marked up with 5,5 gallons of gas then it actually had. Because I didn't check on the lot I was responsible for the gas so I had to fill up $26 of gas for a 4 mile round trip. When I returned the van and saw I only drove 4 miles I realized I paid a total of $20 for the van $40 for rental fees $26 for gas $15 for 10 miles. The world's most expensive 4 mile trip. They wouldn't reimburse me for the extra gas I paid. When I finally got to my storage unit I found a mouse trap inside.. that along with another customer at the front desk talking about how his unit flooded does not give me confidence in this place at all. The only positive experience about this whole ordeal is when I went to return the lock the lady was unable to return it for some reason so she just gave me it's cost out of her own pocket.

Every thing is good BUT my major complaint and why I left is after a few months (I don't remember how many but like 3-6 months), my storage fee went up from $59,95 to $79,95 per month. That's 33 %. When I contacted them, they were so "whatever" about it. A price increase is expected but 33 % is a bit much. Honestly, just be reasonable about increases. I would have stay otherwise.

While I appreciate the 1 month free trial with my one-way truck rental, getting access to my storage was a bit of a hassle. There was only one customer representative at the front desk when I arrived and even though she was friendly and helpful once it was my turn, the person who helped show me to my unit afterward didn't explain to me the storage layout or building access outside of using my key card. I had to go back to the front desk to find out there was not a loading dock for my items and that the uhaul truck wasn't actually allowed into the storage unit. There was only one hand truck available for use and the driveway for moving items in and out of the storage unit was heavily trafficked with moving cars. The whole process was very stressful and makes me unsure about renting from the storage facility in the future, at least at this particular location.

Systems do not line up. I had to pick up the truck in LA, when I arrived truck was not available and I was sent to another location. When I got to Oakland to drop off truck and move into the facility I was told my reservation was not there. I had an email proof of my reservation which was not honored. I had to pay more for a unit which was not expected. I waited for over 2 hours for clarity which I never received as the manager was driving around in the golf cart dismissing my concerns. I was told to call corporate which I did. I have submitted the proof of reservation and have yet to hear back from anyone.

My only thing of importance is my safety. when an unpleasant unexpected situation come up that is not taken seriously. I've had a few incidence or situation that happen in the 4 or 5 years of using your facility. I understand truly the stresses put on the employees at this time of the pandemic but still in all case by cases. When I bring up things it is seriously a reason. I thank you all for your service just the same. Also it would be great if when a person move out from uhaul storage early? There should be a prorated monetary given for the month that is still open. The weekend hours are a joke. Why would you have your shortest hours on the weekend when the need is greatest. Most families move on weekends and holidays and the website shows extended hours, but this is not acurate. Please adjust hours so they are convenient for the customer.

When we called to get our u-haul box delivered. We were told that the wait time for delivery was 3 weeks, then it was down to two weeks, but we were welcome to rent a truck or use a moving company. Feels like we were played. We were not warned that we might have to wait for weeks to get our stuff. Not sure why this place can't deliver u-Haul boxes earlier? Bad managed

Lots of young employees finding there way. They eventually got me where I was going. It was a mixed bag and at times I was very frustrated with the level of assistance. My drop off address and storage facility had different addresses though it's essentially the same facility. Employees may want to point that out to customers. I drove around the block a few times before realizing I started at where I was going. Small in the grand scheme of things but easily avoided.

The check in staff didn't give me all the important information of how to access the storage and hours. I wasn't told that in order to access the storage I had to swipe the access card twice on 2 devices, that wasn't a self explanatory procedures. I also wasn't told that the facility will be closed at the same time as the office hours and almost got locked inside the facility.

Everyone there was very helpful and nice. I ran into issues with the storage space unit number and card key access, all as a result wing and they were having technical issues getting it all up and running, but Barbara was always around to try to help as much as she can. And if she wasn't there, anyone else was willing to assist to the best of their ability. Added bonus: the storage space had the cleanest bathrooms.

UHaul needs to provide some seating for customers who have physical needs such as chairs. I had movers helping me b/c of my age and walking disability and had to borrow the chair at the handicapped window in order to sit down while they made the move for me. The personnel at the UHAUL faculty were nice about it but it got me to thinking what if another handicapped person had come in? Then what? One or two additional chairs should be enough. Just a thought.

How you communicate to your customers on your site versus on site is very different. It should be clear about how I will be able to access my unit so that I can come prepared with the right truck & / or cars. A unit should be accessible using your trucks. Workers should also have the knowledge of how big the units are and what can/ can not fit. I was dragged around for 2 hours looking for a unit instead of telling me what would fit my belongings.

In fact, the two things we were there to do were don incorrectly. 1. we wanted two switch the account from personal to corporate. The staff was very friendly and helpful each time I visited. The storage unit I used was dirty and not completed cleaned out of dirt and residue from apparently a dead rodent before I took the unit. I'm an international student studying at UC Berkeley, and I needed a place to store all of my dorm items after having to go back to my home country because of Covid. U-haul was the best option when I took into consideration the services being offered, and the pricing of the unit was very affordable for what it was. I would definitely recommend people to rent a unit from u-haul if they have storage needs.

My storage experience was fine. The people who work there were hit-or-miss, in regards to politeness. My issue is with a "reservation" for a truck I had made that u-haul cancelled the night before. I even called a week earlier to confirm the reservation. My mother in-law had flown across the country to help us move, our entire place was packed and then I get a COMPLETELY unapologetic cancellation and have to deal with corporate for 45 minutes to no avail. I've been a storage customer of yours FOR YEARS. When I called the your local branch on Friday evening in tears, I was all but hung up on. I'm appalled. You left a huge stain on a very big moment for my family and I. I will submit a formal grievance, and have told anyone who has asked that u-haul is to be avoided. That false sense of security you call a reservation for something critical has got to stop.

Everything was fine until lately. The unit flooded (no fault of them and it was handled) but I was offered free months for my unit etc and then week after week I had issues with them sending me late payment emails and then "going to Lien" emails over and over again despite the manager calling and telling me this "wouldn't happen again and I am handling it" Yesterday was the final time I got such an email and the manager FINALLY actually fixed the issue so she claimed but I don't feel confident in the way this place is run. The other staff was helpful and nice but it's just frustrating to be told 4x that something is handled and then continue to have the same issue for months I'm hoping it is handled now but I am less than happy due to the repeated issues with management after being told multiple times it was going to be taken care of only to find out it hadn't been Happy to speak to someone in more detail if needed and again hope as of yesterday that this issue is actually resolved

Erick and his staff were all friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that I had reserved two large units online and when I arrived, was told there was only one available. (I had to rent two medium units to fit the remainder of my stuff, although neither was full.) My move-in experience was terrible. The first issue was that I placed an online reservation for a unit and on the day I try to move in I learn that the unit I reserved is not available and no reservation was made. My only comparable option was a slightly larger unit with higher cost. Because I was in need of storage immediately, I decided I had to sign up for something and accepted the higher cost but was not compensated for the lack of availability and absence of a reserved unit. My second, much worse, issue is that the online office and access hours are WRONG. When we moved in we were not informed that the information online was out of date. We believed we'd have access to our unit until 10pm and come to find out we only had access until 7pm, on the following day it was even earlier - until 5pm only. When I went to confirm this with the office staff all I was told was "the website is wrong." There was no further explanation, no offer of help or accommodation, and from there only frequent reminders that we needed to be done moving in by 7pm. I do not understand how information as important as office and access hours are not updated in all relevant locations and how the staff does not proactively mention this to tenants to account for the gap. Ultimately, I decided to rent this unit because I'd already trucked my items to the location and needed immediate storage, but if I'd had more of a choice I would have gone somewhere else. Access hours and customer service have been terrible and I will not recommend this facility to anyone.

I received helpful service from the people here, but the process itself was highly stressful and not transparent at all. When booking on the phone, the attendant was very short and only gave me closing hours for the location with no indication of how long the process would take to actually obtain the storage unit. After a very long and stressful drive involving roadside assistance, I arrived just before closing hours on Sunday, only to be told I was too late and would have to leave the loaded truck overnight and unload in the morning. Luckily the staff extended my hours so I could unload the next morning, but the immense stress and disruption of family members' schedules the next day could have been avoided if I had been told anything about the process ahead of time. As for the facilities, the first unit I was shown had not been cleaned, and the one I ultimately chose had some oil stains on the floor, but other than that seemed decently well-maintained and appeared to have plenty of security. I find it odd that the clearance is so low on the storage facilities themselves, since it would make sense for U-Haul trucks to be able to fit down into the U-Haul storage buildings, but I appreciated the carts that were publicly available. Overall, the staff and facilities met my expectations, but please make the process more transparent for first-time movers, including tips and recommendations, and how long to expect the process to take.

the staff was rude and slow to help . A fire alarm went off for over an hour without a staff member addressing it. I let them know that there was an issue with the card system, i was told to stand there and keep trying until it did work. Took 15 mins to get it working. Just an overall bad experience. DON'T BOOK ONLINE - Even though if you book online they are not going to give you that unit. They say they don't have it even though you already booked it. It was the worst customer interaction I have ever had. People at the front desk, they don't know what they are doing. They gave us the wrong unit number and we walked to that unit and when we come back they told us it was the wrong unit. This happened 3 times and on the 4th time, they told us that they don't have any available units on the 2nd floor that's why we need to take the elevator. Even though the facility is nice, the experience was worst. I hope they select their employers carefully at the next time.

I was disappointed there was a flood at the unit my stuff was moved. After the move so of my things was stolen ,the key that was give did not open my locked units. Went to the office and ask where are the correct keys oh we have them here so things were stolen because they gave the wrong keys out here are some of the items that was stolen and some of my things was stolening. Weed eater clothes,pictures, kitchen items, shoes, was stolen. Things was taken out of box and put in bags very disappointed. I was very unhappy with the situation boxes was open and things was stolening out and broken. I made reservations for 2 U-boxes, waiting for them to be delivered from Hayward waiting for three days. I call every day and no U-box. Was toll you could take your stuff to Hayward U-Box. You can call me tomorrow to see if U-box or here. Reply nothing ! As a customer for so long I was not pleased with the way it was handled. Move my stuff out of storage . on that day I move out, I asked if any inbox in .She reply the lacth was broken . So I had to take my business somewhere else. Move out storage unit on 6/15 /20 asked if there would be a refund for the remaining of the 15 days on unit . She said oh we don't give refund. Was disappointed on that respond.

I really loved my storage unit, but I moved&have no use for it anymore. This was my 1st storage ever & the best, it was clean, i didn'thave any rodent or bug problems & most of all Iloved that it was inside a garage & not directly outside. Uhaul & it's employee's treated me so well during my business with them & I didnt want to leave I was actually trying to see if a family member wanted to take it over, that's how much I hated to depart. Thank you so much Uhaul for the best experience ever, & I've seen some not so great storage company's while I was looking for a storage & uhaul by far is the best. Much Love Y'all!

Could not access at critical time moving during posted business hours. Confirmed the hours. But roll down Gates locked closed when arrived. Within opened posted pm hours. Drove 3 hours. The girl behind counter had a smart mouth. As another rep was handling my transaction she kept coming to the conversation with aggressive words and attitude. Loud a hood acting smart comments were not appropriate. She seemed to want to have a confrontation. All the other ladies were calm and professional. I will only stay the free month then move because continuous encounters with her may escalate. I'm sure I'm not the only complaint. Totally unexceptable.

The facility seems to have discarded and or stolen goods. I have no recourse it would seem. Facility's own pipes burst and flooded the facility to include my unit. The way things played out I'm left feeling as though I paid for someone to take advantage of me and even steal from me both my money and my personal effects (many of which were BRAND NEW and yet to be utilized) but it's a corporation so they are going to protect themselves from liabilities and not always do what is right by customers if it means compensating them or taking a loss to do the right thing. The STRONG feeling of having been taken advantage of and having deep regret that I trusted and paid this uhaul facility to secure and safe store my goods is the reason for my poor rating and STRONG desire to discourage others (especially military families and those who rely heavily on storage facilities with the majority of their property) to trust/utilize another facility and even company for your temporary or long term storage needs. If you don't have trust what is there...? In the end based on the company's insurance company handling me the way they did and how so much of my stuff is missing with no recourse I'm left realizing that when it comes to uhaul I'm just a little person vs. a big cold company. Aside from Uhaul's Marissa Mendez (who is usual's one bright spot) and all her earnest efforts to make things right I have nothing absolutely nothing positive to take away from my experience with uhaul and the Oakland Coliseum storage location/facility.

Was difficult loading into facility due to uneven paving at entrance; tipped over my cart as the overhead door came down on it and did not stop. Someone needs to change the smoke detector that's been beeping for several months. Otherwise very clean. Could have used an extra hour in the evening here and there but otherwise appreciated the security.
