However at the time of drop off you had a man sitting in your front desk by the name of Mike to busy on his phone watching a funny video super loud no greetings nothing not even the courtesy to put his phone down to acknowledge my presence. I had a very long and horrible day but i was trying to still be friendly and i said to him oh what are you watching? Must be interesting. He kept looking at his screen until he finally shut it off and was super rude telling me give me the keys you are all set. I said wait a minute you have not done a walk through with me im not leaving based on your word especially with how ride you are being! He continued to ignore my request and thankfully in walked nelson. I must say impeccable timing he graciously said i wll go out there with her and said hello to me!! He also apologized for Mikes behavior apparently i was not the only customer that night to complain about his lack of customer service. He should be terminated effective immediately!! Especially when he has others doing work he should be doing!!! Nelson on the other hand should be promoted for representing the company as it should! And he knows his stuff!

Luis FernandezI had a storage unit at this U-Haul location about 3 years ago and the staff was very professional and helpful then, and they still are... The cargo van I used today was very clean, but when I started it and put it into gear it made some horrible metallic grinding noises so much so that I asked one of the employees to drive it out of the space where it was parked so he could verify to that the vehicle was somehow defective... He drove the vehicle out of it's parking spot and told me, "All of the new Fords make that noise." I thought that odd, but I drove the van to my residence, loaded it, and returned to U-Haul without further incident. Otherwise, the day went well and I appreciate the courteous service of the U-Haul employees who assisted me.

Throughout the many years that I used the units I did let management know about the issue. But the mice feces continued to be an issue. There could also be better lighting throughout.

Deborah RicciI signed up for online pickup. Truck was not accessible outside. I had to go into office and have them find it and pull it out. Wasted 1/2 hour of my scheduled time. Inside of truck bed had nails and screws scattered about it. Driver door had a big dent at the door hinge and I had to pry it open. Driver visor was broken and keep falling down into the view area. Driver seat had a big hole in it. Overall not up to the usual UHAUL standard.

Yuliya FernandezTerrible customer service and awful user experience. The uhaul app is extremely buggy, unclear and poorly maintained. It took 45 minutes to check out our vehicle, they forgot to include the equipment we pre-ordered (while also charging us for it) and they left "instruction photos" of the wrong vehicle. Will never come to this location again. Not to mention there is next to no parking, trucks are dangerously lined up all along the street curb with major blind spots everywhere - super unsafe, difficult to maneuver, unprofessional and ridiculously frustrating.

Howard PowellI walked into this Haul thinking it was like every other location! Let me tell you now that this particular location is NOT the same as any other. Not great service from the guy who rented me the truck when I picked it up, kept talking about how they didn't want to be here and that they were going to quit in a few days anyway so what was the point of even showing up, heard all of that as I walked in to get the truck, I don't care if they were joking or not, it is very unprofessional. They told me the truck was out back and that I "couldn't miss it"...well I missed it because there were like 20 different trucks in the back and had no clue which one was mine, luckily another employee could see the struggle on my face and asked me if I needed help, which I did. Thank the Gods for their help because otherwise I would have been more lost than I already was. The truck was just like not upkept at all, the steering wheel was peeling, the visor above the drivers head was broken so it was in my face the whole time I was driving, and it definitely just needed to be...cleaned if I'm being honest, I used a LOT of hand sanitizer that day. Dropping off the ruck was very easy and another employee who was not the one who rented me the truck was very nice and made it very easy for me. Still love UHAUL and everything they offer but this experience was not the best.

MIKE ORNELASStaff was helpful and facilities were clean but we had a number of issues trying to move our stuff in. For one, the card and code they gave me would not work on the first day, but this was solved later on thankfully and the staff were helpful. Another problem though is that the official entrance is always blocked by several large vehicles, and even if you get a parking spot by the office you will promptly be blocked in by some kind of large truck. This is the only official entrance; it can't always be blocked!! I learned to just drive in through the exit to access my storage unit. Secondly, the elevator has been broken the last two times that I went there, including the day I had to move out, and my visits were a month apart, which gives me the impression that it was broken for that entire time. These issues definitely made my visits longer than they needed to be, which was unfortunate because I was paying for a Zipcar by the hour. But I will say the facility itself was clean and pleasant and I overall had a positive experience.

There was a pad lock on the outside of the unit, and I had to get an associate to come take it off so I could get in. The lock that I was told would be in my unit was not in my unit, and the associate had to go back and get me one. So other than the unit being clean and empty, it was not ready for move in.

Allen BensonI honestly wasn't sure of which rating I would give.I arrived close to 7:00 pm and the 2 staff were very friendly and cordial, but didn't even bother showing me how to get into my unit, where it was, or how to operate the storage elevator in building 6. Not the best experience. By the time I figured it out, they were gone for the night. Their shift ended at 7o'clock....so not blaming them for that.

Mike Fitzhenry | Premières impressionsHad a bad experience when I got locked out of my unit. I was told by the representative to bring a bolt cutter and a new lock. When I got to the office they saw me with the bolt cutters and lock, told me I had to buy one of their locks instead so I did. Went to try to cut my lock off and it was protected from bolt cutters. Come to find out I wasted my time and money and I wasn't even supposed to have bolt cutters in there but these guys advised me to and let me walk right in with them. I ended up having to pay 200 bucks for a lock smith who was there for a total two minutes (how's that for a work rate?) to cut my lock which also ended up damaging the bolt so every time I came back to my unit I had a hard time getting it open. Arthur told me he would "help me out somehow" but when I asked for the locksmith to be paid for I never heard back from anyone of course.

Jessica Hames | Premières impressionsFirst, I have absolutely no issues with the staff because I understand under-staffing and other issues, but my move-in experience was extremely stressful. First, I checked in at the office, then went to my unit's building and my key card didn't work because I wasn't told to check in, so I had to go all the way back to the office - and no one was there to help. After someone finally appeared after several minutes, I returned to my building and got in, but there was a green lock on my unit so I still couldn't get inside. I called the main office 10 times to get someone to come, but no one was there. Someone eventually picked up and came to take the lock off. My friends and I then moved my stuff in, and about halfway through the lift stopped working so we had to call the office again, and they were able to come fairly quickly to get it up and running. Overall, not a great experience. It's done now, but I'm hoping I will never have to store my stuff again in the future.

No attempt was made by management to provide recompense, only to make excuses and try to blame the customer. A miserable experience after being a customer for 10 years, and inexcusable. This is not a customer-focused operation (at Oxford St) and managegement should be aware.

I used to get texts with reminders to pay, and phone calls, they stopped in January with the first missed starting in February. I would pay a month in advance. I was told certified letters were sent and the post office has no record- I feel tricked in order for the facility to attempt to collect fees and try and auction off my daughters college storage items. The next time I visit I'm clearing the space.

Clerk lacked any desire for customer service, and basic math skills. He could not explain why I was required to provide all this information. Tried to force me to buy a lock. Then, I was offered a different unit than the one I selected online. I returned the unit on the spot and if my card isn't refunded, I will be reporting fraudulent charge. I would never do business with this facility and have serious concerns about uhaul even being involved with this. If the way this was done isn't illegal, it should be. But I'm fairly sure there was some kind of legal violation in the way this "move in" was conducted and that is on uhaul and the manager, not the clerk.

He recommended I reserved the unit since my move in date was 1 week away. Manager (Art) did not tell me that I had to pay for the unit to secure it that day. I came back a few days later to get a lock for the unit + was informed that the unit was sold to someone else + that there were no other units available in that size + climate controlled. This makes no sense. Why have a reservation system at all? They tried to stick me in other sized units that were twice the cost. Why not tell me that I had to pay for the unit to secure it? I would have gladly done that day of. I had to come back 3x to deal with this + eventually cancelled and went to another storage company. Such a waste of my time + the lack of communication was absurd.

The only reason I moved out is because I finally found.a decent apartment. I had a small unit inside on the first floor. No problems with water leaking in. I noticed there are mice that can get in, but they are everywhere in Providence and my unit had a mouse trap. One more thing: it is easy to pay rent here because you can pay online. I would definitely use this place again if I ever need a storage.

I was appalled at the dead mice and mice feces in/on all my furniture and cherished items I placed in this unit during Covid. I paid $4000. during this period for renting this storage unit and I had to spend lots of time cleaning mice droppings out of the furniture. I will never use Providence U-Haul ever again.

Since my husband and I did not know how long we'd need to rent for, he gave us our first month free! He and George were helping to train a new employee, and were very patient with him. They were all a very nice group of people. Our once concern was that our move in did not take place until after hours, and someone went into the unit who may or may not been living out of one of the storage units. Other than that, we were happy with the amount of time they spent with us, to find the right size unit.

I've since started using Budget rental and its a night and day difference in terms of every aspect. Been a customer for years and still get treated like garbage festering in the summer heat. Will not return to Uhaul for any business need and certainly will tell my entire network how trash of an experience I've had.

I've lost my card, had trouble with the elevators, all of which the office team was more than willing to help with. I only have 2 concerns with the facility: 1) the facility is only available until 7pm unless you pay an additional fee and is not available at all on Sundays. For those of us with M-F jobs, this makes using the facility challenging 2) there are some shady characters who rent from this location; enough so that I would never go there alone. Even as I arrived at the facility to move out, I encountered 2 guys walking out with backpacks and reaking of pot... I can only imagine what they were at a storage unit for.... if this were a one time occurrance, i'd be forgiving, but unfortunately that's not the first time i've seen that there. (Note: I'm sure #2 has caused #1 for all of us - so that's unfortunate)
