Greetings, I would make sure that the steering wheel was clean and that the cab windows were clean. I realize the truck has almost 200, 000 miles on it, but the staring had a lot of drift and the front tires were worn pretty bad. I didn't need or want a two wheel dolly and there was one in the truck and in my way. I asked the employee to remove it and he said it had to go with the truck. I have rented trucks there before and the wasn't in the truck and in my way.

The saint albans store was fast friendly and efficient. They all were very helpful especially the young lady I think her name was Kayla not sure. Jon was extra helpful also with tips on how to use the after hours entryway. I'll use them from Now on instead of Patrick street store I have to always wait forever to get service at Patrick street.

The pod covers are 2" too short - width wise, it was difficult to stretch the cover tight . Pods were clean, glad I used them for my move!

There are some employees whom I feel are not Knowledgeable whatsoever. The first girl I talked to set me up I needed a change and she pushed me off to come back in at 7 AM do you talk to a manager because she didn't know how to handle it. I wanted to 15 / 10 and I ended up with 4 units, 8 keys And a headache And a headache. I have to say though it is very clean and they have 24 hour access which is right

I had reserved for a certain time but didnt get until 30 min later. They said the gas was on a quarter of a tank but it was actually on 1/8 of a tank so I wont be reimbursed for bringing it back on a quarter of a tank. The vehicle itself was good.

They charged me a $25 cleaning fee for the first time ever. The truck went back way cleaner than it was when I received the truck. Also charged me a sur charge for fuel claiming the truck was on a 1/4 tank when I got the keys, it was not.

Clean and safe location to store your belongings. Had my unit for over 2 years and there were no issues. Security protocols were top notch. Had to use code to get in and use code to operate elevator. Makes for peace at mind

We were redirected to this store, which is further away from our home, due to our original reservation not being ready because the location did not open. We were more than an hour later for our planned task and then had to drive out of our way to return the tow dolly.

More organized return area. The equipment return area at this facility is always crowded and, unfortunately, beside a busy 4 lane road. The people are great but this area could be better organized.

I have had my items stored there for 5 years in a temperatu controlled room. It has been excellent. The place is wonderfully secure and the staff is excellent. Highly recommend and already have!

I have been coming to this Uhaul for years and have never had an issue until this order, I was charged a cleaning fee when the truck was returned clean along with being charged a second day when the truck was return same day but was 30 mins after hours, your mobile turn in is absolute junk as it will not always function when it gets to the license and photo section of the turn in and will cause me to restart, and I have mentioned this inside several times before and was never charged for a second day but this time I was, no one is attempting to resolve the issue thus costing me an extra $106 for the truck when you guys dont even service the trucks as you should because I never really complain but the steering wheel was like driving a damn go gart

Was extremely happy with how everything went with my long distance move using Uhaul's Ubox. And unsure if it's a testament to my packing skills or Uhaul's careful transportation but everything inside was completely safe and nothing was damaged! If I ever would need to move such a long distance again I would love to use this service once more!

The location can get congested very quickly on the weekend. All of the parking spots out front were taken but there were no customers inside. Also drop off needs to be revamped.

Seemed over crowded and badly disorganized. Not sure if they were short staffed or just slow. When I picked up my rental I could hardly get into the lot and when I returned it a few hours later the return was STILL backed up to overflowing. I had to disconnect and park the trailer myself

My online booking did not match the cost I was charged by the local uhaul agent. Was to be approx $40 yet I was charged $71. When I asked about the upcharge I was told the online staff doesn't charge enough. Would like an explanation for this.

A note to put ramp up before closing door, unless we missed it. Make end of truck like ramp, grooves so it's not so slippery when it rains.

My only issue was the height of the containers. I am a petite 4'10" person and I could not access them without assistance. Other than that no complaints. Kept my belongings dry and secure while remodeling. They were place conveniently at my locations and were quite helpful. Everything went as planned with "Barb" giving me friendly monthly reminders. Great experience.

Two things, The pickup and drop off area better designed to get you off the road and clear of all traffic on McCorkle. It's very hard to see around parked rental trucks to safely exit your lot into traffic. My suggestion would be to park the short trailers on the front row to keep customers from parking and yet most can see over top of them to exit the lot safely. Merci

U-Haul was not in the best cleanliness condition when picking up. Was charged a cleaning fee of $90, and they refused to give me my deposit refund back and failed to reimburse me for the gas I put in it as they said they would, although it was not at my fault. Will be reaching out to corporate.

The initial dropoff was about 30-45 minutes beyond the stated time window, but it was of little consequence. The communication from the St. Albans office and the Huntsville office during my move was excellent: timely and informative. Merci.

I rented a unit from Triston and later added another one with Rebecca. Both were professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Rebecca was able to call headquarters and link a unit directly across from the one I had, making it very convenient. The whole process went smoothly. I was disappointed, however, that I was not offered a free month from where I had rented a 10' truck 3 days before.

This is likely an issue with the online site, I reserved a 10x10 (reservation showed this) but was given 2 5x10 units. This was quickly taken care of by the employee working and definitely made the experience much better. Access to the building could have been a little more clear (use the exterior keypad even during normal hours). But I likely didn't read everything.

My only negative was before i setup autopay and I was 1 day late on payment. They called my reference contact before calling me. I found that extremely aggressive for being one day late. Autopay solved that though... maybe autopay should be the default unless the customer declines that option.

While my rental was quite seamless, I had paid extra for a dolly. Upon arriving at my destination, and opening the back door I was shocked to find NOTHING路‍♂️ good thing I wasn't going very far and my storage unit was in uhaul itself so when I did return all of my concerns we swiftly dealt with and made whole.

Everytime I set up my automatic payments online it would never come out of my account and when I would go to look at it, it was saying I had never set it up and would always get charged with late fees and have to pay more then what I could've. It was a little expensive for a storage unit but got the job done.

The facility has always been clean and well-staffed. My initial unit had a ceiling leak, and they quickly switched me to another unit with no problems. The last time I rented a truck, I reserved 2 furniture dollies and an appliance Dolly a few days in advance. When I picked up the truck, they had no available dollies for me. That has been my only complaint. Everything else has been satisfactory.

This is my final transaction with this company. I have used U-Haul for several truck rentals, storage, portable storage, even propane and a ton of boxes/tape since June. Within this time period, we have had several issues so I am now getting twice the size unit for cheaper down the street from a company that values me as a customer. In seven months I have seen the highest turnover rate for any company I have ever seen. Is it the desk jockeys or the management???

I rent trucks from Uhaul often, but the only complaint I have is related to one experience with the storage facility. The elevator wasn't working properly when we were moving out. It stopped working before we got out first load out. The employee, manager on site, and the manager he called a not helpful at all. We were expected to carry heavy and bulky items down 3 flights of stairs. I rented a uhaul truck and was paying people to help move the stuff. The manager who was called by the employee didn't care that I paid for a truck and hired help and wasn't going to be able to move my stuff - I had to eat the cost. To top ot off, I am the one who fixed the elevator. I located a piece of rubber trim that was loose from the door on the inside lower part of the door. It was interfering with the sensor. Once I got the piece to stay in place, the elevator worked fine. After the lack of concern from the manager, I should've billed Uhaul for a service call.

I rented unit 1172 on the morning of 6/29 but didn't move anything into it. I realized it was too small and reserved unit 1207. I called that day and could not get through to anyone. I called back the next day and they told me they would refund the charge for the smaller unit since i hadn't moved anything in and was moving to a bigger unit. I was still charged for the smaller unit.

The two complaints I have is that first of all there are not enough flat carts. There are two. There are four mattress carts. The biggest complaint I have is that this is the first storage unit I have used that you are not pro rated your money back for time not used. We vacated our unit on the 6th but we were paid through the 19th. I don't that is fair. They basically got a half month of free money. Not just storage units but most businesses pro rate your money back.

It was a very easy process of going online to rent, pay, and receive information on how to move in. I'm still a little confused on how to get the big sliding door to open when I come in the evening, but I will eventually figure that one out.

Access hours are Good but 7PM gets here pretty quick. My problem, not yours. One suggestion I might make is if you somehow offered a helper service that I could use to move stuff once I get it to your facility I'm sure I would have used it. Perhaps You could have prescreened people locally that might like to make a few bucks and they might even turn into employees.

The only problem we had was with our account on your website. When I would log in to the UHaul website it would say I had no storage unit. We went to the UHaul office and the clerk went into his computer and said it was fixed but we still could not see our rental storage unit when we logged into the website online. So, I will have to give a very poor on the user-friendliness of your website when an account is created BUT an Excellent to the St. Albans Storage facility and its ease of use!

This storage unit was in a law suit. From where uhaul cut the lock off of my unit and proceeded to let someone who was only an alternate contact. And had no access to my unit. I tried to get my stuff before this bill got so high. But was told by Austin Dorsey. That it was in a law suit and I could not get it. He lied to police over and over again. Stuff went missing and then some returned. But the funny thing is. I live in Colorado. So you tell me how that could have happened. This was my life and personal items. That u haul allowed this to happen. I have police reports and pictures from the incident.. And the sad thing about it . Austin Dorsey covered the crime up. And I have spent so much money renting from u haul. I would never recommend u haul to anyone. I will be posting my comments on u haul website. And I think this should be checked into again. I think everyone needs to know how I was treated. And if you look at my bills that I paid every month until this robbery happened. Which was July. Not HAPPY.

Tyler Lemaster was awesome and extremely helpful. I first spoke with Tyler over the phone. I called to inquire about the climate control units available. He was very informative and knowledgeable. I went to the store about two hours later and he assisted me in store as well. He made the process easy and effortless. He also explained everything well and into detail, he pretty much answered all my questions before I had to ask. He was kind and provided an awesome guest experience. Upon leaving I felt cared for as a guest, and felt pleased and comfortable utilizing the facility. Would recommend this location and Tyler to family and friends. Thanks for the awesome guest experience as well as putting my mind at ease as far as leaving my possessions in this facility. Tyler deserves a raise. Thanks again Tyler for being awesome over the phone and even more so in person. I truly appreciated your assistance.

I had gone into facility on November 13, rented a 10x15. And reserved a truck for the 27th. The gentleman that waited on me was excellent. I did not start moving my belongings in until November 26th. My access card would not work. Going to front office they could not find my info plus the unit i had signed up for on the 13th had now been rented to someone else. There were no other 10x15 units available. Here i have people from out of state & a trailer full. The gentleman helped me get into a a 10' & 10 & 5x10 nxt to each other. So the day was saved. He also helped me change my truck reservation from 27 to 26. I believe Patrick was his name. Very helpful. He is a pleasant person to help me that day.

Had a very poor experience Had rented a truck (pick up was 11/13) and storage (starting 11/13) During Friday 11/12, I received an email stating that they did not have they truck size I had ordered and that the truck that could be provided had to be picked up 30mi away from where I had reserved it Cancelled my truck, and called the storage location just to be sure everything was ok. Was told that my 10x10 was there and that everything was perfect 11/14 went to the storage location and was told that 10x10 storages didn't exist there!!!!!! Because they had an issue with materials for the construction of the storage location. Again, I had called 2 days previous and was told everything was in order

This a relatively new facility that is in excellent condition, is well maintained and equipped with a large freight elevator. I used two 10x15 units for roughly 18 months to store furniture and other belongings. While not cheap, using the facility was a good choice. All things considered, I doubt one can find a better facility in the Charleston area.

The staff was extremely helpful each time we encountered them. The storage unit. along with other helpful items, was excellent (variety of carts. Restroom) were excellent and in great condition. I was impressed with how easy the building access system and elevator were to use. It could not have been a better experience. I rented the unit only because it was free with a truck. I was called the following week about the unit and told them to cancel it. Only to be called about it 4 more time and I'm still receiving calls and texts about the unit wanting payment. Your customer service is poor and unorganized. The facility was super clean and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. I wasn't sure about having a storage unit on an upper level floor, but the way they have it set up is really nice. The only thing I wish they could change is to have more than one vehicle in the "bay" area so that more people can have closer access at a time.

The reason I said I would not recommend this business is two reasons. Patrick was very nice. I also had an encounter with another worker. I asked him would it be trouble for me to rent a UHAUL truck on a different day and still get the first month free. He responded with "ya kinda" so I asked Patrick and he told me to get in touch with him and he would help me when I'm ready to rent a truck. My issue is the I have to be out of my other storage unit on the 9th and my apartment on the 30th. He was very understanding. The facility itself was very clean and security measures were impressive. The other thing that bothered me some is that the price of the unit said $129. Then when I went to pay it was $139 PLUS tax. I don't know why it was $139, it was not explained, instead of the $129, and I have never seen tax on a storage unit. It is short term so I just went with it and Patrick was actually really nice and helpful, the other was just kinda ok.

I ordered a dolly and furniture dollies with my truck. Reserved it all a week early so I would have them. I get there to get the truck and they have zero dollies or furniture dollies. Tyler helped me check in and was very informative and professional. However the double sliding doors were not open during business hours on Sunday and were locked again during business hours when we returned. We had to off load thru the single door that sticks and jams so it took twice as long for today's process.

The overall experience I had with U-Haul on my last truck and storage rental, has essentially made it that I likely won't be doing anymore business with U-Haul, especially since I was charged for an unsafe truck, well I'm sorry they discounted me $14, for a truck with ZERO RIGHT SIDE VISION, and I only used 1 week of storage and they billed me $140, not to mention I used to store for just $90 for same unit, and they refused to honor that price. When I stored for over 2 years in Johnson City, TN. I even brought in pictures, showing. The rate at my previous U-Haul facility. They still refused. So thanks to this facility U-Haul will no longer be receiving any of my business and over the years I have spent over 6k with U-Haul, and U-Haul will no longer receive a penny I'll just spend the extra money with Penske or most likely Budget, since budget is about the same cost as you guys. But I am HIGHLY disappointed with U-Haul and my entire experience. Not to mention I showed up to pick up a truck that was supposed to be ready at 6am, it wasn't I then spent 45 mins with a 5 year old with me to get the truck, because he was looking forward to riding in the truck in his car seat. Well that did not happen, I spent nearly 2 1/2 hours till almost 8;30am trying to get the truck, only to finally figure out there was NO TRUCK FOR ME, the keys wasn't even available for me. And I wasn't able to get a truck till 9:30/9:45, AND THEN THE TRUCK has ZERO RIGHT SIDE VISION, which I found out AT NIGHT, yay, and they refused to get it fixed, I mean they gave me $14 off my rental for a DEFECTIVE TRUCK. DON'T USE U-HAUL AND ESPECIALLY DON'T USE THIS LOCATION, THEY ARE THE WORST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH INSIDE OF UHAUL.

This is not my first time renting a storage unit, so I know to bring a broom with me - and I'm thankful I did...due to the amount of dirt and bugs in it. That wasn't TOO big of a deal for me...but I definitely will lay something down when putting boxes, large mirrors/decor, etc. on the floor. Granted, I don't expect it to be a sanitized haven by any means, and I appreciated the sticky mouse pad, but I'm terrified of mice and I hope I can call the desk for removal if I were to ever find one because I'll have a panic attack. The only reason I rated this as an average experience is because someone who worked there (thank God it wasn't after hours or I'd be screwed), had to come and jerk the door open after swiping my card. I tried at least 20 times after having to sign in/out, then going to the other key login to open the door. Also, I received a free lock with 10x10 unit and was told it'd be in my unit when I arrived - but it was not... (again, thank God it wasn't after hours). Overall, my space is in a great location and it was overall clean...just maybe needed a quick sweep for new customers.

Patrick and his team went above and beyond so many times is was hard to keep track of. They assisted me with my u-boxes, storages and truck rentals with grace all while being an extremely busy location. I highly recommend driving from anywhere in the Charleston area to deal exclusively with Patrick and team he is building at this location.

I would have rated you above average, but I had trouble getting my account straightened out. I was locked out of my unit even after my account was updated. I paid my bill on line and it took a week to get it credited to my account

This was the worst experience I have ever gone through with any company. $75+ for a glorified closet space. Poor customer service, no follow up, no attempt to help resolve the problems we were faced with, no contact person to deal with problems after hours, endless HOURS wasted sitting on hold trying to resolve issues, not to mention the HORRIBLE MUSIC you are forced to listen to while sitting on hold. No lock provided like stated. The WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!

They tried to lock me out of my storage unit even though I was not late on payment or anything. Patrick Holley needs to take some customer service classes because his customer service sucks!! He talks about old employees and drags their name through the dirt which is completely unacceptable! Every time I was in there no one was wearing a mask and I even over heard Patrick telling another employee how he was in contact with someone with COVID. This is completely unacceptable and appalling. Get better employees who know what they're doing and won't talk bad about employees!

There was suppose to be a free lock with my unit that i never received so i had to go out and buy a lock on short notice now they are calling me telling me i need a different type of lock and i have tried to call them to get it sorted out and get my free lock but i can never get an answer

My experience with Uhaul storage was excellent all around. The only problem I ever had was getting through when calling. Wait time was always long, and sometimes never transferred. But as for the office and storage facilities - second to none! Très professionnel et serviable! Highly recommend! Thank you!

Austin letting us get our things out of our U-HAUL was the first break we had all summer. He was a blessing and can't thank him enough. Only complaint I have is that when signing up a new customer for storage rental the times and upgrades should be gone over and just the whole how to should be explained more thoroughly. Just my opinion tho. The day we moved out of the rental they were very busy and another employee took the time to help my husband and I lift a few heavy items and was very helpful. Thank you to all the St.Albans staff !

The rental center was understaffed. I tried to contact the center by phone before moving from out of state but could never get through the automated phone system. There is only room to off load one truck at a time. There were several waiting to to off load a truck. While the center is new and very clean it is inefficient. Reservations or appointments to open new rental of storage lockers could alleviate this problem.

Austin and his staff do an amazing job. They were all very helpful, and the units and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Austin went the extra mile to make sure I was accomodated, and that I understood every part of my contract and bill. I recommend this U-Haul location to anyone, it is the best one I have ever seen (and I've been to a lot of U-Haul locations over the years.) Thanks again, Austin and team.

Of all the U-Haul facilities in several states I've had the pleasure to rent trucks & storage from, yours ranks stellar - highest on the list for available space and cleanliness, and consistently good service from Uhaul - my choice in moving and now also in storage. Everything was great the facility was clean and well lit . The staff were all very nice and helpful. The only setback I encountered was that I was told I could gain access after hours yo my things and when I went after hours I was denied access. The alarm message kept saying the area is closed. Austin Dorsey should be fired. He charged my card without telling me back in 02/03/20 which I was reimbursed for by the owner - still have the email about the incident. Then, when coming to the facility to pick up my uhual to move into my apartment on 07/01/20, Austin Dorsey put me on the red flag/file list; so, I couldn't rent a uhual at first. When the other manager who goes by Red was on the phone with the representative to figure out why it stated "unknown" to rent to me in the computer, Dorsey walked into the facility with another crew member and yelled "Oh lord! not her again!" Cameras can confirm this on 07/01/2020 at 12:30 PM. I kept my cool and didn't say anything back. Dorsey walked to Red's computer monitor instantly, and Red said "can I clear this" to Dorsey, and he stated "I don't care". As i got my keys and was walking to the truck, he told another crew member, "I will just flag her again". This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and an abusive of power. Additionally, uhual needs to investigate when individuals are placed on the do not rent list. That is just completely unacceptable.
