The two staff members, young caucasian male and female, went above and beyond to check out my vehicle, annotate damages, and explain the rental process. This was the best service I've ever had in my Uhaul history.
Richard TomitaThe main clerk was great and helpful, but his assistant seemed unhelpful and a hindrance to the clerk. Despite the clerk being very clear and concise over the radio, and despite the affirmative he received, the assistant didn't do the duty of taking the padlock off of our truck. We had to drive back and lost at least 40 min of our moving time.

I came with my friend(driver), and the lady looked over his ID and repeatedly kept misgendering him even after he explained that his legal and preferred name/pronouns are not the same. She then said that if we're paying with debit I have to do a 160 dollar deposit. I told her that was fine, and then she said she wouldn't take my debit card at all. I called my mom to have her ask questions for me about the policy, and then she kicked me out. She physically pushed me out. After calling corporate my reservation was sent to another uhaul location. Luckily I was able to rent a truck, but the manager there called me shady multiple times to my face while training someone. The person being trained asked the manager what he meant by that, and only then would the manager rent to me. This was a horrible experience. The first location I, and my friend experienced transphobia, homophobia. At the second location I experienced racism. This was awful and set my move back several hours.

DAVID DIXONThe Uhaul pickup location had a really nice manager who was very nice and did his best to help me. I was given a truck that had a check engine light on and had no fuel - manager was quick to give me a new truck. New truck had a padlock on it that we had to remove ourselves prior to loading as we were not close to the pick up location. Upon arrival to our destination in California, we noticed that the attic portion of the Uhaul leaked and damaged several of our items. Drop off had very nice employees.
hillary layerWe waited 20 minutes at the equipment drop off area with a tech working a van. Made multiple acknowledgements we were there, never once spoke to us, came to our window or anything. I gave him plenty of opportunities knowing maybe he was busy. He continued to do cleaning and other stuff for the van, making eye contact but never speaking to us. Finished the van , customer took it. Then proceeded to check in a new U-Haul truck that came in way after us. Complete dis everything he could to not check us in. Finally after 20 minutes of being purposely ignored WITH looking at us I gave up. Went and parked the trailer, walked and got a trailer stand and tire Chuck and proceeded to use the app to check us in. He even walked past us without so much as a word. The worst service I had ever received at a U-Haul. I had my brother with me and he was beyond words as well.

They told me I should have taken a picture of the gas gage when I picked up the truck. They made me fill the tank at the gas station and it cost me $70. They knew my mileage, I had only driven 8 miles.

Honestly I wish you gave me a way to rate my entire experience, so I didn't have to ding the place I picked up my truck. This review is to complain about 1st Ave Self Storage, 2400 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134. I reserved a truck for 5:30 on Feb 17th the business is listed as closing at 6:00 pm. Soon after I got a call from some lady telling me that I would have to have the truck picked-up earlier because she usually leaves work around 5:30-5:45. This didn't work for me because I was at work until 5:00 pm that day. She didn't care and did not offer any alternative other than having someone else pick up the truck earlier she even confirmed on the call that they close at 6:00. I eventually relented and told her I could have someone pick the truck up earlier.Again I was going to be there by 5:30 at the latest and the business closes at 6. Then I get a call the next day from your scheduling people telling me that my original reservation was cancelled because "The truck had been vandalized" locks were popped or something along those lines. So the reservation was moved the location I am currently reviewing. Who actually gave me excellent service and shouldn't have to bear the brunt of this review. I rated this poor,but it's not the Rainier Valley Location's fault. They did great. The 1st Ave Self Storage, 2400 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134 location is the result of my negative review. I hate that this is going to reflect negativitly on my pickup location, they actually did a great job.

Tomas AguilarArrived on time. Unfortunately there was only one person on hand and they were tucked into a back room with their back toward the doors. After checking in online per the instructions, waiting around for about 10 minutes, I called customer support. After about 3 minutes on the phone with them the helpful, solo, attendant acknowledged me and offered to help. Once this person arrived, everything went smoothly. During your remodel, consider putting the check-in desk in a more visible, forward facing position.

She made the process seamless and pleasant, and I was out of there much faster than in past experiences with UHaul in different locations.

Not give me no choice but to drive to another storage and back again causing me to drive over 40 miles and then charge me for those Mike's. Not charge me $100 for a cleaning fee after I turn in the truck where it was you told me all is good and I could leave for supposed cigarette ash was all over the cabin and caused by me when I don't even smoke cigarettes

Franz DiessnerOur rental had a flat tire the minute we added items to it. We drove it back to the location we rented from and they said there was nothing they could do. They told me to call Roadside Assistance (even though we were at a U-Haul location) and we had to wait over 2 hours for a technician to come out and change the tire. Following this, the location then called me telling me my rental was due back and that I had gone beyond my rental time, knowing we had sat in their parking lot for over 2 hours of my rental window waiting for roadside assistance. Honestly, it was one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had.
Cambria Jeanfirst, I was given instructions 15 minutes before picking up the truck that my truck was not available and was given another location to go to. This is a difficult transition for me because at the time I did not have a car. Second, when I got there, there was only one employee on staff, who proceeded to be on the phone for over 20 minutes talking to another customer. Three, there was no gas in the car with only 14 miles left in the tank and I immediately after already having two delays had a further delay having to immediately go get gas even though the trunk was locked, it still proceeded to open up at one point during a drive and then was jammed and required a lot of effort to re-close. overall staff was unhelpful. Vehicle was in bad, shape, the lack of gas and disinterest in trying to help solve. The problem will not be using U-Haul in the future.

Christopher WinebargerI was overcharged and not told the fact when I collected the trailer I asked if I could deliver it to a closer place to my house and the sales person give me a location that was a 50 mile round-trip from my house and charge me $100 for this and didn't detail out exactly what I had to do I ended up paying $185 for a $65 a day. Trailer absolutely outrageous. I contacted them and I was told they would call me back and the manager would speak to me. I still have heard nothing and believe that your customer service is poor

Matthew Olsenupdate- after being sent erroneous charges, i was able to get a hold of the manager and was able to provide proof that the damage to the vehicle did not occur during my rental. the manager was able to remove the charges against my account. though it did leave a sour taste in my mouth, i'm glad that the manager was able to rectify the situation!

More importantly, I was charged an extra $20 for "after hours" service which I was not told about. I made the reservation for 24 hours, it's not my problem the location is closed when I returned the trailer.

solomon teferaIt was a big beautiful truck, but I'm used to Sprinter vans. Driving a 26' rig through Seattle was quite the introduction. This is why I selected the closest location to my destination, but I also understand why that may not be possible.
Seth GrossKenyatta and her staff made sure I was always taken care of, and always helped with a smile. They really bent over backwards to see that everything ran smoothly. If I ever needed a storage unit again, I'd go back.

The ceiling is exposed so I am concerned about water leaks eventhough I purchased insurance that will cover if there was such an event. The absolute worst...there is a black box in my unit near the door that says "rat poison".

My dad had just passed away recently and he had been in a wheelchair for the past 25 years and due to these circumstances I had a lot going on and Jerome said he would work with me. He got me moved into a few storage units and also worked with me on the late fees for my U-Haul as he said he understood where I was coming from with my Dad passing away. Excellent A++++ service I will recommend U-Haul to anyone I know that is moving and also be sure to recommend the U-Haul location on Ranier specifically to anyone looking to move around this area.
