We ordered a uhaul truck and trailer. We asked for a location and went there. They informed us they hadn’t even assigned our order to any location and it wouldn’t be ready until next day. ?? Next day... no one called until 4:30pm asking if we would be picking up and closing was in 30 minutes! Of course we could not get through Tacoma in 30 minutes! ??. Picked up next day and trailer lights not working. Fixed... Then in route needed one more day and sat on hold for 45 minutes before hanging up! ????

Unprofessional, acted like I was taking up his time! I was moving my young adult son across country and he acted like me questions were stupid. I shared the drop off spot that I had chosen as it had a storage facility. He chose another location in that city and merely said that I could change it along the way! Day 2 of my trip, I had to call Uhaul, after 40 mins on hold and 2 transfers later I was able to do so. He could have listened to me the customer at our initial meeting rather than making me go through what I did, not to mention the stress of not knowing if I would have a storage locker for my son. In short - he was a Prick! Pictures of truck did not upload either. I asked him to resend. He said no as I had already signed the contract. So I used my phone to take pictures so I had something to verify mileage and equipment condition. Go to another location is my advice.

The second worst rental experience I ever had. The first was my first UHaul rental. Glad to see UHaul is consistent. I was charged nearly double than what was quoted. The drop off location was not anywhere near where I was offered. I paid for moving blankets that I never got and was never reimbursed for. You could say that I will never rent from UHaul again. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen!!!

The staff was completely disorganized...all 2 of them and it took over 45 minutes for me to pick up a trailer I had already arranged over the phone and given my card as a deposit for. Completely ridiculous. This is after visiting the location closest to me and waiting for 30 minutes only to end up calling the 800 number because the 1 person working was not helping us in a reasonable amount of time. So we drove 15 minutes to the other location and had the same horrible experience.

I pulled up to the wait sign to return my equipment. I had an appliance dolly wedged in the back seat of my sedan. I waited for someone to come out and help me - as the sign says. I waited a good couple of minutes. I looked into store window and saw them looking at me. Since I was on my lunch break I needed to hurry. I wrestled the 80lb dolly out of my car. It was 85° out too...Was pushing it to the front door when someone threw open the door and stepped over the dolly!!! The person right behind him said "is that your car?". I am standing there with the dolly and then he says - oh you can park there if you have equipment. Like he's doing me some favor!?! I couldn't believe how rude he was. I went back to work in a real bad mood! Next time I will be renting some where else!!!

I rent a Uhaul every month. I am 60 yrs old n ride the bus to pick up the rental and after I drop it off. My reservation, made a week ahead was changed without my consent causing me to go further out of my way. The next day the battery was dead in the rental. I called roadside assistance at 2:15pm, got through at 3:15 and did not get assistance until 5:30pm. The buses run every hour after 6pm. I got home at 7:30pm. I am not happy?? I was offered an Uber or Lyft but I don't get into cars with strangers. Bad rental experience all around??

I was not happy with having to pay $100 deposit for cash. I was not able to do a cash/card mixed transaction. I was uniformed about the messages to check over truck through my phone. Just a lot of hoops and not a super easy experience.

The vehicle had less than an 8th of gas in the tank. The engine light was on and there was a rattle coming from under the vehicle. Did not feel safe driving the vehicle, but I was told it was the only left snd not worry as biut the gas. The instructions fir returning the vehicle was not as ble to be ooened in the text that was sent.

Two employees were at the store helping 1 customer for over 15 minutes while a lengthy line formed . . neither of the employees seemed to be in any sort of hurry to finish up with Customer 1 while the rest of us waited. In fact, they both seemed oblivious to the fact that we were all standing there - in this day and age of quick thinking and fast service, this experience makes me wonder what kind of training they have had or haven't had. This experience will make me hesitate to use Uhaul again in the future. FYI - phone reservation system was fine, van was fine . . it was just the wait at the pick up locale that was sub-par.

I asked the rep for a vehicle to pull my travel trailer. I expected him to know that meant we needed a hitch, electrical hookup,etc. He sent me off without. When I called to inquire aboutwhat we could do, I was hung up on. This happened three times..

This is the worst customer service experience ever. The guy who rented the vehicle to me lied about their U-Haul storage and drop off location in order for him to get the sell. I was told that once I returned the U-haul truck, I would be granted one month of free storage at the drop off location, which was a lie because there wasn’t any U-haul storage facilities in the city where I returned the truck. ( The nearest U-haul storage facilities was about two hours away). So, be very careful when rental a vehicle through U-haul and make sure you have everything in writing. The U-haul 1800...... numbers and their main customer service agents and representatives doesn’t help either. Worst experience ever.

I was told 1 hour for the install by 3 different people. After 3 hours of waiting, my wife had to uber home. I prepaid for the hitch, and verified my wife would not have to pay anything as it was a gift. The told her she would have to pay for the hitch at the completion of the work. Under no circumstances would I use this U haul store for anything. They should not be in business!!

The uhaul location I picked up from, U-Haul at 12th & L in Tacoma WA, was extremely unprofessional. The Uhaul website would only let me reserve a 15’ truck or bigger, even though the location had 10’ and cargo vans available. I asked for a smaller size and was given a shaken head, but no verbal response at all. I was rushed through the process not given clear information, a walk around of the uhaul or anything else. They gave me they key and locked the door behind me. The gas gage was off, and the seal around the door was completely broken off as well. Thankfully the drop off location was really nice and took care of everything, but I would not recommend getting a uhaul at the Tacoma location.

I have a long rental history with uhaul and felt insulted and maybe even a bit discriminated against when for the first time ever I was asked for an alternate phone number and he called it and told them they were calling just to verify number was good in case i failed to bring truck back. I feel this step was not necessary with my rental history and will try to find another means next time

Arrived a few minutes before 5. As we started to go in, the person pulled the door closed and locked it. They could have said we have a strict policy and must close on time. Any verbal communication would have been better than pulling door closed and locking just as we reach for the door. Wanted to let you know to double check the windshield for possible chips. I remember 2 rocks hitting really hard. With all the dead bugs from 8 states, it was too hard to tell. Thanks for rental.

The manager gave no indication that he cared one bit that I was having a hard time getting all the information needed for the rental. The second contact number was totally new to me and I've rented from that location before. He didn't even stand up from behind the counter when I came in. I didn't know anyone was there until he spoke. I felt like my being there was an inconvenience to him. I will not be using that location in any more moves.

I was required to provide a phone number for a reference in order to rent a vehicle, the reference needed to answer their phone and agree to be a secondary contact, this is an absurd requirement, I have never been required to go through this with any other rental company, I will think twice about rent from U-Haul in the future

During the initial booking by phone, the agent started the quote with two ubox containers, but I said I'd only need one. The final quote was for one and we agreed on the date and time, and we'd have Local Help pick up the container at the 12th & L location. The Local Help crew were delayed getting the ubox by considerable confusion until the Uhaul facility called be to confirm that I only wanted one ubox. Somehow, the folks at the facility were seeing two boxes on the booking. Once that was settled, the Local Help crew arrived and quickly got to moving some bedroom furniture, packing up some mirrors and loading assorted boxes to the container. They were professional and well equipped with dollies and sling harnesses to safely handle our goods. Our household goods arrived in excellent condition and on the date agreed in the original booking. I found out the ubox and trailer combination with a partial load was quite heavy for my Dodge Dakota pickup. The load was within the truck's limit, but when I use uBox in future I will be towing locally with a bigger truck. Overall, we are very pleased with Uhaul's uBox business. I was able to move a room-full of household goods cross-country without additional expense of time, gas and lodging.

I had a trailer rental scheduled for the Tacoma Center street location and they moved it to this location which is in the downtown area and out of my way. I asked about a location closer to south Tacoma and Highway 512, but neither you online customer service nor this location advised me about one that was a block away from where I was going. I wasted an hour.

the website has lots of glitches. describing my tow vehicle hatch and capacity kicked me off the website. website and my display froze up when tiring to selected the mandatory must read documents. always excellent service from personnel at 12th and L. when renting a trailer.

The employee this morning was extremely unpleasant. That's the employee at the Tacoma location today 04/15/2019. Also, the back of the truck was dirty, as in fresh earth and debris all over the floor of the back! Lastly, when I turned it in, they charged $9 for fuel. However, I filled the tank. The gas pump clicked off several times and a scant amount of fuel even spilled over. Yet, the receipt said the gauge was not on full. I think the fuel gauge of my truck was not accurate. Other than that, it went well. I would definitely use another agency rather than dealing with the unpleasant employee. Thanks. Gratefully, James.

I scheduled a truck at a site closer to my home and storage. Got a call the day before pickup that I had to pick up at a further away site. I strongly feel I shouldn't have had to pay the mileage difference of over 6 miles. Thenchange was not due to any fault of mine
