Well where do I start. The trailer I rented was great. As far as returning the trailer I was assigned a return location about 2 miles from my home. The location at 4237 E Cesar Chavez in Los Angeles doesn't exist as a U-Haul location. It is a used tire shop. I was instructed this location would take my return rental. I called the Red Bluff location and regarding the return location. They passed the buck and said for me to call the 1 800 U-Haul number. I did. It took 35 minutes for someone to respond. They tried to find a U-Haul that would take my trailer. The operator gave me three locations. All were over 20 miles away, and as it was not about to travel 20 miles on a holiday weekend with Los Angeles traffic at its slowest. To return this trailer was now becoming a big problem and taking me away from my family. Especially on a busy Los Angeles weekend. The first operator could not help me. She said this was the closest location that would accept my rented trailer. I don't understand how it now became a bigger issue of returning the trailer miles away from my home. The first operator told me I had the trailer till Tuesday. I told her that I couldn't keep the trailer and if I did it would have to stay out on the street where it could get stolen or damaged. I didn't want to leave it connected since doing so would block the public sidewalk putting me in legal predicament should someone trip or fall because I couldn't return my trailer. This whole dilemma of me returning a trailer should not be this difficult. The first operator could not help me, so she forwarded the scheduling manager to help the situation. I hung up as I proceeded to contact the scheduling manager. It took 20 minutes to reach her. Already one hour into returning my trailer I got the news I would have to return the trailer over in Cudahy which is 13 miles from my house. It took me 20 minutes to get there and another 20 minutes to return it. This is best part it took me anothe 40 minutes to return home due to heavy Los Angeles traffic. I don't understand why U-Haul would have me lose time away from my family just to return a trailer that should of only taken 15 minutes tops, how it was my duty to run across town to do it. I have used U-Haul many times as has my wife and my son. Never have I've ever been put in such a stressful situation that should have been handled by U-Haul. I don't understand how it's my problem if U-Haul can't keep track of who and doesn't operate as a U-Haul associate. And I don't understand how it becomes my problem to return the trailer across town to waste time and fuel. This needs to be corrected if you want to keep me as a customer who has favored you in reviews. U-Haul needs to keep its own accountability records to see who and who is not a U-Haul retailer, and not put it on the customer to find out for them.

This will be the last time I rent a U-haul. I placed an order a week before my move date for a 26 foot truck and on the day to pick it up the self service instructions were non existing. Secondly, once I arrived to the first location I was notified they do not have the truck and didn't have the capacity to carry a 26 footer. We finally located a truck but wasted 5 hours looking for a truck and it was 10 miles out of our way. Terrible service.

I wanted to return my truck rental at a location closer to where I had to unload my furniture. And for some reason I was told I couldn't drop it off at another u-haul location. So I had to drive over 40 miles just to return the rental....

Nothing needs to be done to improve this location at all !!!!They are the best ......the the Cudahy location!!!!!!!!hands down the best!!!! Now the Gardena location is the worst unprofessional at its best...... I Would recommend Mr. Renee the manager for some type of award he is the best very nice very professional the Gardena location needs to take instructions from the Cudahy location

I originally requested a rental from a different location, which was confirmed. When getting to the location, I was told there were no trucks available. I then scrambled and found a truck at this location in Cudahy. My boss was waiting for me and the truck to arrive to move various items, as we had a window available to us. As I was making my way to the pick-up spot, the tire blew out. I contacted roadside assistance, which arrived and provided support by changing the wheel (of which their was no spare on the truck), but by the time all the repairs were done, our window had come and gone. Additionally, while waiting for the RA to come, I attempted to unlock the cargo area, which I found out I could not unlock the lock. Taking the truck back, and explaining the situation, I asked for a full refund. I was told by the clerk, that becuase the truck was taken, I was still going to be charged. This is extremely unfair, and all the problems with the truck was the fault of the company and of no wrong doing on my part. I find it extremely unlikely that I will use or recomend that this company be used by anyone!

The keys to the original truck we were supposed to receive were lost so we had to get another vehicle which required talking to employees when we were promised contact free pick up. Also, the windshield was extremely dirty.

Don't call costumers treating them to charge them an extra penalty of $50 if you don't return the rental at the time you specified, even when you have call them to tell them you are keeping the rental for an extra day !

I brought the Equipment back on time but was still charged a $20 late fee. When I called to ask about it the representative at the location was rude and would only refer me to the contract. That tarnished my experience.

I had a reservation for an appliance dolly. Upon arrival, they said we don't have the dolly you requested, we actually don't have those. I asked why is it available on line when you make the reservation. They response, “that is just how it is”. That put our move behind schedule. We had to find another location to rent an appliance dolly.

This was an awesome location with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I previously went to Prefeccion and was not satisfied there. The staff at Cudahy were very helpful in securing me a truck that met my standards. I would recommended the Cudahy location anytime.

Well I am getting charged for a cleaning fee when my car was no completely clean. Also customer service was not great. Getting my car took 30 min and there were things I never agreed on, I was being charge a lot more and still don't have my final receipt.

I would suggest making your reservation at the desk instead of the app otherwise the people at the desk aren't very helpful if you need help because they want you to follow what the app says for you to do :(, overpriced gas charge as well.

Price should be more specific on advertisement. It states $19.95, when if fact is no where near the price advertised. I ended up paying a bit over $80 on a use of no more than 3hrs. It was $19.95 plus mileage and gas, the gas was pretty much left the same as when picked up buy the mileage is where it hit the pockets. I think a lot of people don't see the difference because is usually the big trucks for moving purposes. I only used it for picking up something that didn't fit in my car and I thought I got a bargain on what I bought but when adding the rental with it, it wasn't so much of. That needs improvement without a doubt.

Ensure all trucks are functioning properly. First truck I was about to drive off in had a nail in one of the tiers. So I waited around for another truck. I had it for about 30-40 min and right when I was about to head into the freeway the truck was overheating and shaking. I had to drive back and get another truck. This put me behind over an hour of having to go back and forth with trucks. The last one I received wasn't even washed and I did not receive a sanitizer to clean that steering wheel I was so annoyed. Because I was rushing I didn't have time to put gas after only 40 mile drive in total. The attendants didn't even waiver the fee or offer anything for such an inconvenience. I don't think I would rent from here again or recommend to anyone.

I have rented 2 times in 3 weeks. About 1500.00 Both times I have had trailers LESS than 48 hours and I was charged both times for a 4 day rental Both times I was told that was standard procedure. The gal in Cudahy states that the returning agent in Salt Lake May be able to work with me? He said ticket was closed and no refund available. I have paid for 8 days of rental For 2 of your trailers and have used them less than 4 days Any credit would be greatly appreciated

BE ON TOP OF YOUR RETURNS. I thought I would use the app to be more convenient, but no. I RETURNED MY TRUCK , the same day I rented , did the check out through the app , took the pictures. Now 16 days later I get a message saying I never returned the truck when clearly you guys have had the keys this whole time. This is ridiculous. If there is a next time , I will be doing it with people not the poorly built application.

The truck was filthy and disgusting inside. It had orange peels and orange seeds looked like they had been spit out by previous renter. Also, when I received the link to verify condition of the truck, the pictures in the link were not the pictures of the van I received. I informed the guy who helped me about this issue and the issue with it being filthy and he told me to just take pictures of the van and the dirty conditions with my phone, in order to dispute any possible additional charges upon returning the van. When I return d the van the following day,When I was making my final payment in my contract, I asked to speak to the manager who happened to be the same guy that received my van when I brought it in. I had mentioned all the issues to him outside when he received my van thinking he was a customer service employee. I was told not to worry because I had only been charged for 2 extra miles that I had gone over, that there would be no extra charge for cleaning!!! I was appalled at his response. I also mentioned to him that I had to take 20-30 minutes to upload pictures of the van on the link because the pictures in the link were not of the van I was assigned. This was a terrible U-haul rental experience. It's sad because I chose this location out of location convenience. I leased the truck to haul trash to the dump for a property clean up job for my company, the lack of cleanliness of the inside cab was concerning especially since we are dealing with this Covid pandemic.
