I love U-Haul. Super convenient.
The staff needs better training. The gentleman that hooked up my trailer failed to tighten the ball hitch correctly. I had a full load in the trailer and the trailer unhitched while i was driving. The trailer slammed to The back of my truck. I returned the trailer to the uhaul locations and explained what happened to the employee that removed the trailer and they didn't even apologize. Very disappointed and now i have a dent on my bumper.
Im getting charged for a late fee for 1pm when the guy told me I can drop off the same time I picked it up around 150pm-2pm the following day. As I drop off at 150pm I get charged!
Truck has a strong smell needs to be cleaned.

Well where do I start. The trailer I rented was great. As far as returning the trailer I was assigned a return location about 2 miles from my home. The location at 4237 E Cesar Chavez in Los Angeles doesn't exist as a U-Haul location. It is a used tire shop. I was instructed this location would take my return rental. I called the Red Bluff location and regarding the return location. They passed the buck and said for me to call the 1 800 U-Haul number. I did. It took 35 minutes for someone to respond. They tried to find a U-Haul that would take my trailer. The operator gave me three locations. All were over 20 miles away, and as it was not about to travel 20 miles on a holiday weekend with Los Angeles traffic at its slowest. To return this trailer was now becoming a big problem and taking me away from my family. Especially on a busy Los Angeles weekend. The first operator could not help me. She said this was the closest location that would accept my rented trailer. I don't understand how it now became a bigger issue of returning the trailer miles away from my home. The first operator told me I had the trailer till Tuesday. I told her that I couldn't keep the trailer and if I did it would have to stay out on the street where it could get stolen or damaged. I didn't want to leave it connected since doing so would block the public sidewalk putting me in legal predicament should someone trip or fall because I couldn't return my trailer. This whole dilemma of me returning a trailer should not be this difficult. The first operator could not help me, so she forwarded the scheduling manager to help the situation. I hung up as I proceeded to contact the scheduling manager. It took 20 minutes to reach her. Already one hour into returning my trailer I got the news I would have to return the trailer over in Cudahy which is 13 miles from my house. It took me 20 minutes to get there and another 20 minutes to return it. This is best part it took me anothe 40 minutes to return home due to heavy Los Angeles traffic. I don't understand why U-Haul would have me lose time away from my family just to return a trailer that should of only taken 15 minutes tops, how it was my duty to run across town to do it. I have used U-Haul many times as has my wife and my son. Never have I've ever been put in such a stressful situation that should have been handled by U-Haul. I don't understand how it's my problem if U-Haul can't keep track of who and doesn't operate as a U-Haul associate. And I don't understand how it becomes my problem to return the trailer across town to waste time and fuel. This needs to be corrected if you want to keep me as a customer who has favored you in reviews. U-Haul needs to keep its own accountability records to see who and who is not a U-Haul retailer, and not put it on the customer to find out for them.
I still haven't received my deposit ! It's been 3 days !

This will be the last time I rent a U-haul. I placed an order a week before my move date for a 26 foot truck and on the day to pick it up the self service instructions were non existing. Secondly, once I arrived to the first location I was notified they do not have the truck and didn't have the capacity to carry a 26 footer. We finally located a truck but wasted 5 hours looking for a truck and it was 10 miles out of our way. Terrible service.
I wanted to return my truck rental at a location closer to where I had to unload my furniture. And for some reason I was told I couldn't drop it off at another u-haul location. So I had to drive over 40 miles just to return the rental....
This time everything went perfect, the girl that help me was really helpful it took all the time to explain me all I need to know I will come to this location for all my needs thank you ðŸ™
Nothing needs to be done to improve this location at all !!!!They are the best ......the the Cudahy location!!!!!!!!hands down the best!!!! Now the Gardena location is the worst unprofessional at its best...... I Would recommend Mr. Renee the manager for some type of award he is the best very nice very professional the Gardena location needs to take instructions from the Cudahy location
I originally requested a rental from a different location, which was confirmed. When getting to the location, I was told there were no trucks available. I then scrambled and found a truck at this location in Cudahy. My boss was waiting for me and the truck to arrive to move various items, as we had a window available to us. As I was making my way to the pick-up spot, the tire blew out. I contacted roadside assistance, which arrived and provided support by changing the wheel (of which their was no spare on the truck), but by the time all the repairs were done, our window had come and gone. Additionally, while waiting for the RA to come, I attempted to unlock the cargo area, which I found out I could not unlock the lock. Taking the truck back, and explaining the situation, I asked for a full refund. I was told by the clerk, that becuase the truck was taken, I was still going to be charged. This is extremely unfair, and all the problems with the truck was the fault of the company and of no wrong doing on my part. I find it extremely unlikely that I will use or recomend that this company be used by anyone!
I was not able to self check out the rental truck, cause Uhaul system didn't recognize my location, even though my location was on, next day, they charged me $20.00 for check in.ðŸ¤¦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸

Speed of service there was only 1 person at counter extremely long lines. Also suggests 1 line for check out/rental and one for returns
The keys to the original truck we were supposed to receive were lost so we had to get another vehicle which required talking to employees when we were promised contact free pick up. Also, the windshield was extremely dirty.
