The employees couldn't be more unprofessional if they tried. Checking in, the clerk said my ID looked fake. Dropping off the vehicle I was presented with an insane tirade about how Covid is made up, that there are people who travel ahead in time and go back and forth to heaven, and other things that are too insane to repeat. The employee also didn't wear his mask and insisted on a fist bump. I will never, ever use this location again.Winston L.

Overall U-Haul did a very good job moving my household belonging . The very worst part of the experience was the several attempts to communicate via the telephone. There was confusion and error that could have ended badly. Telephone wait times were extremely excessive on two occasions I waited over an hour to speak to a U-Haul representative. This element of your service could use an overhaul!Tom M.
returning truck was not seamless. individual receiving truck did not send acknowledgement report to cashier, and cashier had to go to the yard, find the person and the truck and redo the receiving report. added 15 min to check out process,Stephen G.
They did not show up on the correct date to pick up the uboxes, I had originally asked that the uboxes be moved to Modesto and found that was not setup. When setting all of this up, I was never given what the cost was to ship the uboxes to modesto and only found out the price was 1 400 $+ dollars after the boxes were already shipped. Knowing that it was going to cost that much to move them I would have probably selected other methods to retrieve the boxes. I placed a call to your customer support last week and still have not heard back.Wendy K.
U-Haul is my go-to company for moving needs but this was my first time using the mobile app and check in did not go smoothly. I had to have a technician help process my check in, had to add a second driver to my account and then had to return to the office for a rented dolly. On top of the long check in process there is no recourse for gas pricing. We left the truck on site with almost a half tank, far above the level we were given, which should have induced a refund for the extra gas. I am willing to use U-Haul in Monterey again if there is recourse for unused fuel and logging in via the app becomes more user friendly.Brenda A.

Customer service was extremely lacking. I felt like I was nuisance to the employees. Also, the vehicle I was given had the service deterrent system activated. I addressed this issue with the employee, and he told me not to worry about it. Instead of giving another ten other vans that appeared to be available, they let me drive off without offering an alternative. Not their problem but I was suppose to pick up my truck in ssn Jose but it was not returned. I then had to drive to Monterey to pick up the truck. I had to ask them to give me extra mileage between San Jose and Monterey. Also their system did not show my nearest drop off U-Haul. I wished that someone should have verified of the prior user drop off. I was not able to complete my move until Sunday with more than 3 hour delayKEISUKE S.

The physical location of the building is very convenient. The UHaul website didn't work for picking up or dropping off the van, which was inconvenient. Had to wait in line for more than 20 mins to pick up the van and spent 30 mins trying to use the website to check it back in outside of business hours. Kept getting error messages. Finally gave up and wrote a note on a napkin. Thankfully, a representative checked it in for me the next day and didn't charge me extra since the website was down.ERIKA D.

There was a major price discrepancy for a change in drop off to a closer location- like, double what I was quoted. Being in the midst of a move I had no alternative at all but to pay the difference. When I politely voiced my despair about this to the agent at the counter, he seemed irritated that I was seriously bummed out, which made me feel even worse.Courtney D.

Returned the rental before 9pm deadline and because we didnt have a smart phone we couldn't send photos of the vehicle or check in on the website using the location services. I called, emailed, and sent a message via chat to ask them to verify the vehicle was returned on time and explain the barrier but no one got back to me and I was still charged the 20 $late fee. It's not right to have unnecessary barriers to return your rentals like that. Some people don't have smart phones so to penalize us for that and not return my messages is just poor business practices.PAUL K.

I couldn't use my phone to pick up my truck. No cell reception. Fortunately an agent was still working and manually checked me out. I suggest you post signage and the directions to log into the U-Haul WiFi on site before attempting to use the on-line system.MARK C.

I will do my absolute best to never use this company again. I found out the day of my move that the 26' truck I had reserved was actually not available and nobody was even going to tell me. I guess somebody called after hours and said they were keeping the truck for longer and I just cannot believe this is something you can do, from the people I spoke to it sounds like this happens all the time! Moving is stressful enough as it is and uhaul made it 10x worse. The people working at both locations were very nice but my god figure your shit out uhaul.LAUREL L.
