I've always used U-Haul what I needed to move bulk items, all my life I've used you all, but I have to say that the cost is getting out of control with U-Haul. Mileage in town is a scam. The per day rental fee should take care of mileage in town. I use the truck for no more than 4 hours and it cost me almost $80. I will consider other options next time I need a moving vehicle.

9/20/19 This was trip from Phoenix, Az to Knoxville,Tn. Upon picking up the Uhaul equipment we were given a truck with well over 90,000 miles on it, according to our "paperwork", our rental had around 6,000 miles on it. This was brought to Uhauls attention and they created a notation of it. The notation was not found in the system at the drop off location, luckily I had paperwork proving my statements. While loading the 20ft Uhaul we noticed that the Uhaul trailer we rented to tow our F150 had no turn signals, hazard lights or brake lights. Zero lights! Upon further inspection the wiring harness was melted where the plastic connections are put together. This is a 100% safety hazard to myself, my family and the other drivers on the road. Uhaul clearly does not care about or inspect their equipment. We as customers had to have another vehicle follow us for over 1800 miles in order to make sure we were able to navigate the road as safely as possible. While driving that same trailer with no lights, the front driver side tire on it blew out while we were driving down the highway about 70 miles outside of Amarillo,Tx, that added a nice 2-3hrs to our 26hr drive. While driving the 20ft Uhaul unit itself while pulling, we could barely do the posted speed limit because the vehicle would not shift into the proper gear causing massively excessive fuel consumption and an extreme lack of power. I would like to say that the staff at the Knoxville, Tn Uhaul off Rutledge Pike was very understanding and helpful. However, as a company, this Uhaul experience from me is a total zero. Over 1600.00 dollars to rent a truck with no power and a trailer with no lights is unacceptable. A danger to everyone on the road, including and especially their own customers.

I had a U-Box sent to this location for self-delivery. Bruce and his team graciously answered my questions in the days before the U-Box arrived. On the big day, Bruce had the pickup truck with my U-Box ready to go. I was stressed about driving with the trailer, but Bruce put me at ease. The customer service I received at this location sets it apart from other locations that I've visited.

On the phone to make the reservation and again when I picked up the vehicle, I mentioned to the staff member that the only purpose of renting the truck and the appliance dolly was to move a refrigerator. They missed an opportunity to sell me some ratchet straps to secure the fridge in the truck, causing me to make a separate trip to Home Depot to buy them so the fridge wouldn't fall over in transit and become damaged. It cost me a lot of time (which means I returned the vehicle 1 minute after closing) and U-Haul missed out on some extra profit.

The uhaul personnel didnt want to help me remove my car from the tow dolly because the transmission was out and I couldnt get drive it off and I was alone. I had to wait for a tow truck driver to help me push it off so that I could tow it home.

I needed someone to help me move. This organization recommended Nando's Moving & Storage who scammed me for $1,315 to unload a 15 foot U-Haul into a small studio apartment under 400 square feet. Nano's crew also stole my camera equipment. I called the police. Hopefully I can get my cameras back.

Trailer was switched from a closed to an open trailer and I was told the paperwork would be switched/revised and emailed to me so I could go, that email did not get to me....The drop off location had no idea a trailer was coming and it was awkward to drop off an open trailer (closed on my paperwork) and try to explain why. Uhaul computers were down and after awhile of trying Uhaul was called. The trailer was returned (without paperwork) and Uhaul tried a late fee anyway (girl said "no late fee" he has been here awhile...thank you young lady) I was told all is ok but still no receipt to prove it, however this survey arrived quick. I rent allot from uhaul and most transactions go very well, the people are valued and I feel valued too...this one just went a little sideways today. HSY

I made this reservation online using my credit card for another person. I listed the other person a only driver. Due to a recent surgery I have almost no voice but still decided after reservation was complete to call in to customer service to confirm everything needed for rental was complete. I specifically asked if I needed to be present at time of pick up and whether my credit card would be needed at pick up. I was told NO everything had been done online and he would only need confirmation number and his ID. When he arrived The agent there told him he DID need the card to get the truck so I was forced to verbally give ALL of my credit card included the CV # info over a speaker phone in a noisy facility causing me to have to strain an already damaged voice. How secure is my card now? THE SAME INFO I HAD ALREADY SUPPLIED ONLINE!! Why couldn't they called me on a secure line? Or better yet the information had already been supplied online so why could they not have us bring card in when truck dropped of or later in day? This was a one day in town rental. I have done online rentals for one way across country travels for other family members without this trouble.

UHaul forgot to load my dolly & blankets, when I picked up my rental. When I returned, they kindly reimbursed me for the oversight, and gave me a $10 credit for overfilling the gas. The drop off technician made my day!!! Thank you for that ~ Excellent!! DPS

I had the worst customer service experience in a long time. I made my reservation online and chose the option to check in with my smart phone, but then I had to make a change to the pickup time, so I called the 800 number for assistance. The last rep that assisted me was rude and showed no empathy for me whatsoever. She sounded annoyed at my request to make a change. I was advised that her name is Tiffany Smith. The next day, I walked to the location to pick up my rental at 5:30 a.m. as scheduled, but when I logged in to check in, it told me that I needed to wait until 7 a.m. for the store to open. I immediately called the customer service line and they did not provide any resolution. The representative advised me that the person who scheduled it has not correctly set it up for online check in. When I asked to speak to a manager, they placed me on hold for 15 minutes and I never spoke to anyone. Instead, they transferred my call to the store, which they knew would be closed until 7 am anyway, so of course no one answered. I was outside the U-Haul location this whole time. After no resolution, I had to walk back home and wait another hour for the store to open. I went back at 7 am and got my truck. The store reps were nice, but the experience left a bad taste for U-Haul. I feel like I cannot trust you anymore.

Local moves / less than 5 hr moves who have to put the gas back where it was shouldn't be charged the miles. I mean why did I have to put the gas tank back where it was if I was gonna pay for the miles. I really didn't understand that.

So I can't say if it was clean, BUT the guy was inviting, helpful, too quick and laughed when I joked about the only thing being wrong with the trailer was that it got dirty on the long journey. People are friendlier here in Phx.
