I rented a 20ft truck, drove it to my house 3 miles away. Spent all day loading it went to start it and the battery was dead. No lights were left on, I called the help line was on hold 30 minutes no one ever answered. Got on line to U-Haul help they dispatched a wrecker, 1 1/2 hours later they showed up and jump started it. The wrecker driver said don't shut it off it may not start again. I had to call and extend my contract for a day because of it. The next day it started and I unloaded the truck at my destination only 8 miles away, the engine light was then on. I returned the truck clean and well taken care of just to discover they charged me for 3 days instead of 1. They did correct it but I was, am, disappointed with my experience.Terry F.

I was charges for 3 gallons of fuel to do 7 miles. The manager requested me to move my truck after being told I could leave it there. So I had to drive back to move the truck at cost to me. Meanwhile, my job took longer and customer was pissed that I had to leave and come back.SEAN E.

We had several charges come in after we dropped the truck off, we dropped it off a night early after hours and had to pay a 22 $fee, then they charged it twice citing we had "2 separate contracts" which isn't what we signed up for- we only had one contract. The manager refunded the 2nd fee for us which was very considerate!CHAD JASON R.

Originally rented a trailer for two days but finished with it early. I returned trailer after 26,5 hours, but was charged for two full days PLUS an after hour charge for 20 $because I didn't do a self check inâ€¦ didn't even know that was a thing. I've been a frequent renter at U-haul, and always have been treated fairly. I feel like on this occasion, I was overcharged for bringing something back early. I just don't feel that was the right way to treat the situation.John A.
Employees are so young and don't seem to know what they are doing on the computer. There was a long line of customers and only 1 employee on a Saturday.SUSAN H.
Employees seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. Told me the dolly that I ordered online wasn't available there was a dolly in the back of the truck. He couldn't figure out how to check out packing materials I ordered online. The other employee was complaining loudly to a room full of customers about how bad the staff at another uhaul location in the area suck and are mean. It overall was poor service.Candice K.

I was told the gas tank was full when I took the vehicle out. I only drove it 17 miles but refilled the gas completely full ( around 4 gallons paid for to refill). When I asked how I used 4 gallons for only driving 17 miles, I was told only refill up to the full line. I just feel that this is a slippery practice that is commonly used. I have frequently rented out vehicles over the last few years to transport purchases back to my home. Just feel like I'm being taken a bit on my decision to use your products.CHRISTOPHER H.

The people working here were rude, very unfriendly, condescending and major attitude. For what reasons? Who knows, but every time I went in there to ask a question, I was met with the same bad attitude by every employee. Also, the truck was dirty and smelled like sweaty butt crack. Also, the seats were incredibly uncomfortable as they did not recline. Horrible experience driving 2 000 miles in a truck who's seat would not recline. I would not have wasted the money should I have been made aware of this prior to renting. Someone should have told me ahead of time. As a result, my neck and back are hurting me and I have to go find a chiropractor, acupuncture and massage.ROBERT R.

My contract gave a return time that was after business hours. This I'm guessing was a mistake of the attendant who checked me out. It resulted in me sitting in the parking lot for almost an hour trying to get the app to work for an after hour checkin, and then calling and waiting for another hour on the phone with customer service before giving up. I was also charged an extra fee for after hour drop off which I had refunded (which is why this review is 2 stars instead of 1).CURTIS M.

I rented a cargo van to move some furniture and returned it after only 2 hours. The employee assured me he would handle the return and I was free to go. The next morning I received a call asking me to return my vehicle. I was charged for gas (which is not ok, beings as it was returned at the same level I got it at) and charged for an extra day. I was refunded partially after speaking to another employee. The communication was poor between employees.LESLIE W.

There was something wrong with the gas tank. When I tried to fill up the tank the gas kept clicking off every couple seconds (it did this every time I filled up). I had to constantly click the handle to fill up which took over 20 minutes. I called the pick up location about the issue and they tried to get in touch with someone regarding the issue. Their manager ended up telling them to tell me that the gas gauge must be off and the tank was actually full (it wasn't). U-Haul reviews are mixed. However our rental of a one way trailer was perfectly managed. Trailer was well maintained. Service at the origin was excellent hooking up our trailer, checking lights etc.Joseph D.
After we left the site and gotten to our local location (not our final destination), I got a text that I should click on a website and fill out a form to record the condition of the vehicle, almost as a protection for myself in case there was damage that I would be able to show was already there. It seems like the personnel at the UHaul location could have recommended that I check it over before leaving, or something helpful like that. The agent seemed a bit terse and dismissive, kind of like a young IT professional that sounds "annoyed" with having to either explain something or clarify a comment. To those with poor hearing, it comes across as not very pleasant.ANDREW K.

After creating an appointment online I arrived at the store for the install to find out that they did not have the part and did not even know that I had set up an appointment. While I was there they ordered the part which took two days to arrive and another four for an install scheduled. Really if they had just called to tell me that they didn't have the part before I showed up it would have been OK. I could have cancelled my equipment rental. To be fair I think that the install is good, but I have not had a chance to use it yet.david C.
