The overall experience was better than the two previous. The new lady organized things pretty well. The MAIN PROBLEM is there are no chairs or benches upon which to sit - and the waiting line is just TOO DAMNED long. If there was a next-door competitor which had seating, I would use their services instead.Theodore D.

I was dropped off by a friend15 minutes early for my appointment which was right at the time of opening so I had to wait outside until they unlocked the doors. 8:50 a truck some flying around the building and a man gets out and walks to the doors, doesn't even acknowledge me until I say "good morning." He unlocked the door and said he'll get things ready and open soon, He unlocked the door at 9:05. When I went inside he was sitting down at the desk with his sunglasses still on, he still didn't say anything until I walked up to the desk. We went through my information and he collected my drivers license and my credit card but I never signed anything, which I thought was strange. Once I was finished I walked outside to the truck I rented and as soon as I tuned it on there was a warning message on the console "Low Pressure Rear Left Tire". I got out of the truck and went to speak with the gentleman and found him as he was about to leave the property. I told him the truck's instrument panel had the low pressure warning and that I wouldn't accept a truck in that condition. He proceeded to tell me that that truck has been saying that for 3 months and that it wasn't a big deal. I again refused to accept the truck and he seemed like he didn't want to deal with this issue, (mind you he's still wearing his sunglasses). He told me to go inside and tell the guy behind the counter to swap out the key for another truck (told me the truck number, as if I was his employee) and that he would adjust the contract. Fine. I went inside and waited in line, they man behind the counter was helping some one and he seemed much more pleasant that the man I was dealing with. I told him the situation and said that the man i was talking to (Donvain B. ?) told me to swap the keys, and he did so. Before I left the lot, I took a picture of the instrument panel with the mileage and fuel gauge for reference. I had to back the truck out of a difficult spot but got out and was on my way, after being delayed about 35 minutes due to improperly maintained equipment. My trip went well with no issues with the truck. I refueled the truck back to just over where the gauge was when I picked up the truck, (7/8 of a tank). I originally wanted to pay cash to close out the rental but I apparently needed a vehicle registration with my name on it and $100, but I was dropped off and this wasn't mentioned to me before. I gathered my belongings and headed inside and Donvain was inside (sunglasses still on). I walked up to the counter and he asked if I was dropping off. I said yes and that I would like to close out with cash if possible. He stood up and started walking around the counter and he said to give him a few minutes and he'll get to me. I told him just to charge my card, which is not what I wanted to do, and left. I get an emailed receipt and it shows that I was charged for 4 gallons of fuel at $5/gal. The gauge I read (and took a picture of) was apparently different from what he was saying, which he told me it was full when I left the lot. - I will NEVER do business with UHaul again. This was the WORST experience I've ever had with a truck/vehicle rental, and I will be sure to share my experience with others.Ryan D.

I offered to take an extra trailer to a different city with the promise of a â€œreimbursementâ€ of $25. We dropped it off on the day before it was due, and submitted an online confirmation. I got charged 5+ days later for $107 and thankfully it didn't go through. We were told it was late fees related to the trailer drop off. After further investigation we find it shouldn't have been charged and were told by Nicolas that â€œifâ€ it hits again to dispute. Not only did I not receive my $25 reimbursement, that I've noticed; but now I am being charged and may get charged again over $100 for a favor I did to UHAUL. That box truck drivers HORRIBLY. I mean, there's nothing "WRONG" with it, but it's all over the road with every bump, and driving through puddles is hazardous! It also seems to rev high in 1st or 2nd gear for a long time and doesn't accelerate well. - But all in all, it was sufficient, clean and well maintained.Jim M.

In the Covid Era it would be nice to find at least a minimal sign that the vehicle was clean. It was filthy. Sand in the interior and in the bed. Signs of spilled drinks on the center console and the exterior completely unwashed!! This is the third vehicle in a row that I have rented in this condition. Three different locations here in Gainesville 32606. Very disappointed!!MICHAEL B.

Over charged for fuel. They give you the truck at just over a quarter of a tank so that they can charge you for fuel when you bring it back. Brought the truck back at the same fuel level and they charged $28 for gas. The truck should be full when you pick it up so that you can fill it when you return it. It's a scam to charge customers extra for fuel!!Ivan H.

Uhaul: 8/11/22-8/15/22 Reference#: 3875251 Oil light came on in Mississippi. Delayed an hour in a half, had to purchase oil. Power steering was low when vehicle was picked up Vehicle was not serviced. No trailer available at Main Street location when returned to pick up auto transport although I informed them when I picked up the truck. Sent to Uhaul location off of 6th street. New Associate in training at 6th street location was rude. Uhaul manager on Main Street was rude. White guy refused to speak with me, employee had to tell him that I requested that he speak with me. Additional mileage 10-15 miles having to go from Main Street Uhaul to 6th street Uhaul. I am a brown women and I was fortunate that my dad took time out of his busy schedule to travel with me. I was stranded in an unfamiliar area and feared for my safety. However, Uhaul delayed a resolution to the lack of care for their equipment. My dad informed the representative that the nearest gas station only had 10w-40 not 5w-40, and that it would not hurt to use 10w-40 per Uhauls approval. However, I spoke with two representatives who insisted that I wait 1-2 hours for road side. After asking to speak to Lynn and requesting a supervisor Lynn confirmed that it was okay to use the oil and the I would be refunded for the expenses I incurred for Uhaul oversight and lack of care for its equipment. The previous representative provided me with a reference number for my complaint requesting compensation for my time and faulty equipment. The issues delayed me approximately 4 hours, 2 hours attempting to pick up a auto transport that was not available at the Main Street location. The main street staff refused to pickup the auto transport and bring it back to their location. An additional 2 hours having to locate a Uhaul dealer in Mississippi who expressed that he could not service the vehicle, we would have to go to the main Uhaul location.Shantell H.

This is the second visit to your location. Elijah and Donovan were great. However, the store general manager Garien Banks, on both occasions, couldn't care less about the line of people in the lobby. This location is severely understaffed in a busy college town. I have had to use this location twice and will drive to Ocala to not have my patience tested any more. My first visit was on July 27th where I needed to get the hitch installed on my vehicle. I made an online appointment for 8 AM. I show up and the GM was very blunt and said â€œI don't know why they let you book for 8 am when the guy that installs hitches doesn't come in until 10:45.â€ That was it. There were no apologies or notion of any sort of empathy, as if I was the problem. I had to change my plans to be able to come back later (mind you I only get one day off a week). I came back at the time stated and it was a mad house. The front was understaffed and all of the college students trying to move out of their apartments were flooding the building. I had to wait in line for 45 minutes before I could give my key to the guy jus to get the hitch installed. Everything went well from there, but it was a major inconvenience and, again, not even a â€œsorry about your wait.â€ My next visit on August 7th was even more of a disaster. I had an online reservation for 9 AM and it was supposed to be a mobile pick up where I show up and do everything on my phone and go. That way I waste as little time as possible. I show up to the store at 8:50 (10 minutes prior to my reservation as the app stated) in order to get the process started. When I got there, there was a line of people outside the door. Mind you the store doesn't open until 9, but then I realized the line was because the online reservation system was not working. So, we all stood there waiting for the doors to be open. The GM and ONE other gentleman were moving very slowly to get the trucks out of the way. The doors were not opened until 9:08 in which everyone flooded inside for some AC and to get their reservations. However, i was literally the 4th person in line and I still waited literally 50 minutes before I was seen. I didn't leave the building until after 10:00 in the morning, putting my whole day behind. Huge inconvenience and no â€œsorry about that waitâ€ or â€œthanks for your patienceâ€ the GM was just telling people â€œno one wants to come to work.â€ Once I was in the truck, the thing was filthy. I took pictures because I did not want to be charged for any of the mess. It had not been cleaned and there was trash from the previous users in the dash and the passenger floor board. I had wasted enough time that I was not about to go back inside when the line was wrapping outside the door. Finally, I came to return the truck on my scheduled return day (8/8). Again, via mobile device because I work long hours so I was going to do it quickly. I show up and the lot is packed outâ€¦ there's no way to drive in and drop it off. I would've dropped it off at another location but the app wouldn't give me that option. So, I wasted $10 in mileage which I was charged for! I kept trying to call the store and no one would answer. I even tried to call corporate and they never answered. I even tried the messaging app online and I was given a wait time if 3 minutes but I waited 20 minutes and STILL no one came to the chat room. What is going on with this company?? FINALLY, I got a call on Wednesday (8/10) from the GM asking if I tried to deliver it the day before when they cleared it. Obviously I wasn't about to waste another $10 in mileage to test it out and have to drive back home if it was full. I needed confirmation. So, since he called and had it cleared for 8/10 I took the truck back then. However, I was still charged for the extra mileage which is ridiculous when this company and this location couldn't get it together. At my work we know when the busy seasons are and plan accordingly. There was no plan set in place here and you could tell they gave no care in the world. I hope this reaches someone who wants to actually make things better because this location needs help.Hunter B.

The return was rushed, no inspection at all. This is a busy location. I had two rentals (one for truck, one for trailer) and this location only processed the truck return. Later I was charged a late return fee for the trailer, even though it was returned a day early (with the truck). I had to spend time getting that amount refunded. Checkin was 1hr plus with 4 people in front of me. Systems seems slow, and very disorganized. Uhaul team would stop and disappear then resurface 10 minutes later, multiple times within that hr wait. Checkin â€˜appeared' quicker when I returned, however the individual that unhooked the trailer never checked in my trailer! I did not receive a receipt, bc they did check me in. The next day I waited with phone CS line for 45 minutes, they could not reach the store to confirm I actually returned it in. 4 days later I did receive the receipt. My observation is the store crew needs more education on organizing the business, improved processes, and customer service. The haul systems seemed very slow and tedious. I was charged for CDW which I did not want and specifically opted out of. I gassed up just before returning the truck with plenty of gasoline to cover the 21 mikes driven, yet I was charged anyway. The staff did not listen to me, when I suggested (more than once) to allow me to orient my truck TOWARDS the only UHAUL-entrance/exit onsite before installing the tow-dolly for my personal car. The UHAUL lot that evening (8/6/22) was so full of trucks and trailers that there was only one entrance/exit onsite, and there were many customers trying to come in/out. Two of the staff were racing trucks around the crowded lot to reorganize them. The third staff member meanwhile first directed me to back the truck up to a tow-dolly while facing away from the lone exit, and then directed me in performing at least a 12-14-point turn (back and forth, back and forth, ...) in order to turn the truck around (i.e., with my personal car behind it) so that I could leave the lot, which took me maybe 30 minutes to figure-out/complete. After I was done with this ridiculous turning maneuver, I saw UHAUL trucks backed up as far as I could see along the busy road in front of the lone UHAUL entrance/exit, waiting for us to exit the lot. I felt so sorry for those people waiting for us, and so angry at the UHAUL staff who did not listen to my suggestion to orient the truck towards the exit before hooking up the tow-dolly with my car, which would have saved all of us a lot of time.Karsten S.

The customer service at this location was horrific. The line was 2 - 3 HOURS long, and everyone there was frustrated and annoyed. The lot was holding way too many trucks for the space they had to park them, and therefore logistics were a mess. We were to pick up our truck, which was reserved a week earlier, at 11:00, we got there at 11:00 and waited in line for 2 hours before we got our truck. Then when we finally received it, it had no gas! Barely . enough to make it to the gas station. The worker there said we would get a discount when we dropped it off, instead we were charged an additional $45.00, over the $255 we already paid. I had no problems with this location apart from it being really crowded when I went to pick up the truck. Of course, this was not their fault, but it led to a 1,5h delay in me picking up the truck! At the time of returning the truck, the facility was so full I had to leave it across the street. On the other hand, I had lots of grief with U-Haul itself. This was NOT the facility I had reserved to truck originally, and U-Haul changed the place twice, in the end giving me a place ~7 miles from my originally chosen facility. This increased the mileage necessary, but they could not give me a mileage allowance to compensate. Only after insisting, they gave a discount on the truck rental. Honestly worst experience I've ever had with u-haul. Took you guys 40 minutes just to give me the rental truck and another 30 minutes for everyone to pull out the vans so my truck could exit. This completely stopped me from returning it in time and I still get charged extra?? I also tried to check out the car online using your guys 5 step process and it was impossible. Every time I took a picture of the odometer the website crashed and I had to restart. Would not recommend this place to anyone I would actually do the opposite.Dominic W.
The line took forever. It. Took 1 hour for me to be seen even though I was there early and only 4th in line. I had the truck reserved for 9am to 4pm because that was the only length of time it would allow. So of the shorter reservation I got even less. Also I wasn't able to do the mobile check-in.
