The customer service was terrible. I arrived at 7:15am for a 7:30am reservation. I was the only one there. The clerk said he'd be with me in a moment, and then went outside and moved trucks around and squirted them down. After literally ten minutes, he came back in and started helping me. Since I could only have the truck rental for two hours (even though I had to pay a full day's rate) making me wait an unnecessary extra 10 minutes was irritating. Additionally, he required me to give him an emergency contact number that he could call and verify. I gave him my wife's number, but I told him she was extremely ill and may not answer the phone since she was still sleeping (it was 7:29am). He insisted that he had to speak to her, so I had to call her several times to wake her up. Then, when he then called her, it was obvious she was sick but he offered no apology for disturbing her. The young man at the counter, Mr. Tirek Williams, was pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. He managed to get each of the customers on our way smoothly, despite having some bumps in his day (there was an issue with the computer, and an issue with the attachment to one of the trucks and a trailer connected to it. And that was first thing in the morning! In this day and age, Mr. Williams's customer service made a stressful event (a move), less so. Priceless!Leon B.

The truck was clean and the staff was fantastic. The truck itself has seen better days. The parking brake light wouldn't come off, so I had to deal with incessant beaping while driving the truck. The truck's suspension is shot as well. The weather liner on the doors is falling off as well. The truck needs to be retired.David T.

The Representative was very rude. Made us wait while talking outside with other people who was not customers. Besides, his tone and body language wasn't welcoming. Vehicle was clean, but didn't drive smoothly probably due to age, it had over 156k miles. I was charge for gas even though I returned it the same spot it was before picking up. The representative at the store did not trust me and I felt I was being interrogated. I felt very disrespected and belittled. After verifying my information. He wanted a reference number so I gave him the number of a friend. This is what he wrote to her, "You will be receiving a call shortly from a U-Haul representative regarding your reservation. Please expect the call from (410) 747-8500. Thank you." She didn't even know I was renting a U-Haul van. He said he was going to give her a call regarding her reservation. I didn't like my experience and I don't think I'll be going back. I didn't like the $25 cleaning fee either.Victor F.

The mobile check in and out process was smooth. I did have a challenge unlocking the key box upon arrival however the attendants had arrived for the day and assisted me. There was some dog hair within the vehicle but we reported it when we accepted the vehicle.Janet H.

Quick and courteous check in. Had trouble getting the van out of the area that it was parked in as it was a tight squeeze but the worker came out and whipped it right out of the spot for me with no problems. Very easy and fast drop off of rental. I didn't get all I needed to get done since I was doing everything myself. However I will definitely rent again from here. Same gentleman that checked me in was the same man that checked me out upon return of the rentalâ€¦he is super nice and a hard worker!!!Arika L.

AFTER VISITNG MY DYING RELATIVE, MOVING FURNITURE OUT OF HER HOUSE, AND GETTING BACK AFTER OUR PICK UP LOCATION WAS BUNGLED. THEN UHAUL ASKED ME TO RETURN TO A SEPARATE LOCATION THAT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY FARTHER AWAY. I HAD TO DRIBE ANOTHER HOUR TO DROP OFF. AND THE CHERRY ON TOP... THE DROP OFF LANE WAS NEARLY FUCKING FULL. ANYONE DROPPING OFF AFTER ME WOULD BE SHIT OUT OF LUCK. SO FUCK UHAUL. THEY CHANGED MY LOCATION NOT ONCE BUT TWICE WITHOUT ASKING. THEY CUT SHORT TIME I GOT TO SPEND WITH MY DYING RELATIVE. THEY RUINED A LOYAL CUSTOMER. I WILL BE SHARING MY EXPERIENCE WITH OTHERS. FUCK UHAUL YOU WILL NEVER GET A DIME FROM ME AGAIN.Will D.

The staff seemed polite and pleasant. They were quick and helpful to all of the folks inside. However, the van that I rented was very lackluster. The van itself smelled strongly of cigarette smokeâ€"probably from the cigarette butt that was under the drivers seat. Additionally, there was some type of liquid on the INSIDE of the windshield, which made it difficult to see out that area of the window. Finally, the back of the cargo van was covered in some type of grease or oil, which I had to lay an old blanket over to stop it from ruining the furniture that I put in the back. Ultimately, it was a very unsatisfactory experience.Aaron M.

The manager called very rude hung in my face saying the rental was to be back at 9 am when I picked up the rental at 1pm so that was an error on someone else's part. I let the manager know it couldn't be back until 1 because it was still full . He told me I couldn't have it until 1 and hung up in my face . Then flagged my account for stealing. I called the national number I extended the rental with national number until 7. And returned it at 630. This management needs to be retrained on customer service because this is not how I expect to be treated when spending my money.casey M.

The truck interior was not what I considered to be clean and the tank was almost empty, which puts me in a very tough and weird situation reporting in it and saying it is because it's in the same condition I got it and overpaying for gas. Additionally, during pickup, there is nothing stating that a temporary ID without a photo can't be used, especially for someone who's had an account for years. Lastly, there is an additional hold on the charge that is not noted anywhere on the receipt and the customer service reps can't see it on their end. Super sketchy.Eden D.
I was a little taken aback as to the increased charges per mile for the weekend. When i booked the truck on-line, i saw nothing indicating this cost and the initial receipt didnt list it as well. Im not arguing that the cost is a standard, but when you dont expect to pay an extra $ 80 just for mileage, its a little depressing.carlton H.

There are some practices here of concerns. First, when the Uhaul was dropped off, we were struggling to figure out where to drop the keys. There was a person inside who saw us trying to figure things out and didn't even bother to assist. Second, we noticed that we were charged $20. We have no explanation as to why. The gas was returned exactly as we received the truck. We took pictures of pick up and drop off for the gas gage. I'm assuming the money taken was for gas because there was no damage to the truck and the truck was returned cleaned. It seems that since gas prices are high, y'all are engaging in steal. Not cool and next time it happens I will be taking it to the next level.Ernest G.

The morning guy was great. Give him a raise.. polite,, acknowledged every customer that came in, even though he was busy.. the night guy was unprofessional. Get rid of him.. We got there 5 mins after closing. We asked if we can ask a question. He says no, I'm busy and walks to a truck., then heads back in the office.. A guy is in the parking lot walking around, he been walking around for an half hr. He walks to the door shows something. That same guy who wouldn't help us came out an gave a young man a truck, who drove off the lot around 730ish. We was in the parking lot trying to figure out how to return it. Was on hold for an hour, until it clicked off waiting for someone to trouble shoot our connection. I do understand the business was closed.. but being dismissive and rolling your eyes as you walk off ,and then help the young man in the parking lot, and not even offer to help us was appalling. I had to pay the extra 20 dollars. I will be sticking with budget or another company.Lakisha B.

The folks at Catonsville were very nice and tried to help me. But uhauls system is not condusive to good customer service because they were not able to help me at all with the case of the missing dolley and furniture pads because they would have to have their manager take the charges off and a) there wasn't a manager present (which is not guy at counters fault) and b) they were unsure if the manager could even take the charges off when he was in.Steven W.
