Renting from this location was very easy. The personnel were very nice and helpful.

He cut me off when I tried to explain that the fuel gauge on my assigned truck wasn't on full, even though I was required to return it on full. He reluctantly assigned another truck to me, not without making it obvious that I had somehow inconvenienced him by requiring him to do his job. The girl who checked me in was slow but she was fine. I have already recommended my friends use a different location.
Carter CI got charged a fuel surcharge fee. I drove 22 miles. I put five dollars of gas into the tank and you charge me 30 fucking dollars.
CHRISTOPHER CMy dad forgot his cell phone in the U-Haul and within minutes I received a phone call that it had been found. Very grateful!

JOSHUA HThere was only one person working multiple areas! He did a phenomenal job but the company needed to support staffing issues! He was running nonstop but was under control at all times! He needs a raise and a huge shout out for job well done!

CARLA MThe employees were sitting around and they told me they didn't want to do my contract cus she just didn't feel like it. So she passed me along to another co worker. And the co worker said the same thing and refused to assist me. So they sent me down the line at the counter and the male employee seemed very uninterested and showed disinterest in assist em and just game me the key and sent me off not explaining anything or showing me to the uhal in the sea of tricks. I've been to quite a few uhals and this was not at the top of my exercises. I hope you can use this as a learning and growing experience.
JAIME RThe customer service was very good. The truck we rented was in poor condition. There was a hole in the roof. My husband covered our cargo with a tarp to keep the furniture dry. The left headlight was broken. We drove from Topeka Kansas in the dark with one working headlight.

Getting their attention when I came in was hard enough as each was trying to avoid helping - it was a maybe a half hour before close. But it was even harder keeping my agent on task, then bonus round, a different reservation needed to be made after the first one as we were dropping the equipment in a different city - which I'd made clear earlier.

RODERICK WI had been at this storage for 18 months When Xavier became Mgr Thier my storage became a problem in my life. I was threatening auctioned I was verbally told if I didn't pay...etc. I don't know who this guy fooled into becoming a Mgr but he is sneaky ,rude, unprofessional. I even rented a truck from downtown location cause all I wanted with him was to remove my property. He has to be friends with someone in U-Haul I have been using Uhaul and never seen so much negativity.
adrian m | Expérience généraleI am writing about 3429 Troost in Kansas City...terrible situation - says 24 hr drop-off but the gate was locked on Sunday evening at 6 pm. Has number to call - which we did and they had no idea what to do. Had a trailer parked on a difficult spot with heavy traffic trying to figure this out - just a horrible situation. We ended up finally getting ahold of U-Haul and they sent us to the 3100 Main St Ste 10 site. Very upset about this entire situation.

When I went to pick up my U-Haul at 6am (which I had scheduled ahead of time), it was blocked in by multiple vans and trailers, so I couldn't take it off the lot. I had to come back an hour later when the office opened and the gentleman who was working was unfriendly, did not apologize for the earlier mishap, and seemed annoyed that I was there. He said we couldn't go into the building due to central air issues, so we (multiple people) had to sit in his U-Haul truck (which was odd) while he found me another vehicle. I had to remind him that I needed dollies and pads, otherwise we wouldn't have given them to us and the new U-Haul I received was almost out of gas, so I had to refuel immediately. The entire experience set back moving back an hour or more. I understand that things happen, but at the very least an apology or some kindness from staff would have helped offset a frustrating start to our moving day.

JOHN CThis location has implemented a new rule that customers must provide a utility bill for proof of address. I was renting for a company, so I did not have the required utility bill. I was told a business card would suffice, so I had to go back to my office to get a business card. This is terribly inconvenient, and caused me to arrive at the job site late. If such a rule is necessary, there should be advance notice when reserving the vehicle. We are long time customers that use UHaul for many events through the course of the year and have never had to provide this type of documentation before. If this is a rule specific to that location, I plan on avoiding it unless they're the only location that has the truck I need.

I felt unwelcomed and as if I was a bother to the staff that assisted me who even open-mouth yawned in my face as I leaned over to sign the rental agreement. I could not adjust the driver's side view mirror and when I went back inside to ask for assistance I was just told to do it manually. We had to go inside to get someone to come check the truck back in after waiting and no one coming to assist us. The gas tank indicator was broken as well.

I often had to ask several questions to receive clearer, more information on the process. She also spoke in a low voice so it was hard to hear her clearly. Overall, the U-Haul itself was clean and well maintained. But due to poor customer service from Lavender, I wouldn't recommend this location.

SIBIGOMBE MI reserved the truck online. When I got to the location, they required a utility bill in my name. Nowhere online did it indicate this requirement. The truck was parked very tightly in a line of other trucks. Tightly enough that I feel the yard attendant should have pulled it out to prevent damage.

TAKYRA SInform customers either via website or during reservation process, that a lease, utility bill, or other form of identification is needed to rent. Arrived to get my rental was informed at that time about extra id needed to rent. This was after I spoke with 2 people prior to arriving. Never informed during either phone call. They eventually allowed me to rent, but it was not a smooth process. At least I was not the only one, another person experienced the exact same thing while I was there. They also had spoken to someone prior to coming and was not informed prior either.
TRACI MThe only thing I can think of is the requirement for two identifications w addresses. Maybe I didn't see that in the information needed upon pickup. Otherwise excellent service.

Got the keys from them and found that the back door of the truck was zip tied so had to go back in and have them cut it. Also the app made me put in two peoples' phone numbers to verify me. The app didn't specify that a second was needed so I spent ten minutes trying to figure out why it was erroring out.

I had rented a truck and hired help on that day, and you all screwed me royally. It was not just inconvenient, but you cost me a lot of money. You all can communicate perfectly when you want to be paid OR the NUMEROUS times you raised my rental fee. I have had rental units before, and no one ever raised my fee. This is the LAST place I would ever rent a unit from again.

I wanted a large unit for my clothes and one wasn't available. So I was assigned 2 smaller units that almost added up to what I needed but way less convenient on separate floors. Then I was charged a rate that was way higher than the large unit I requested and inconvenient as well. So I moved my storage to someone who gave 2 smaller units on the same floor while I wait for a large unit to become available and am being charged the rate that I would be paying for what I requested until that size comes available. THAT'S customer service. You don't punish a customer monetarily because you don't have what they need immediately.
mike b | Expérience généraleI hope that my reasons for leaving doesnt hurt my relationship and future business with uhaul I caught covid early on and fell behind on payments for a storage and the manager Nichols Shaw was so understanding and uhaul so helpful during my hospitalization and offered me and way to save my things I just wanted to say I really appreciate you uhaul when I thought all was lost and thought I wouldn't make it thru covid 19 knowing that my personal belongings were safe and I could come retrieve them thank you thank you thank you love you guts for that because with the payment agreement i just didnt kbow how I was goibg to pay for and thought I surely lost it . ❤❤ its so nice to see companys that care about there customers and understand this pandemic. And I have to pay more then I was quoted. I am glad it is going to be temporary until I get a larger home and I will be measuring it when I go back. But it is nice and clean other then having to pay almost $25 more a month and a stall that might be smaller.
