The service line took forever, there should be more people at the front counter, or at least one person there at all times. At one point during my rental, someone called me saying I was late on my return with a very bad attitude, when in fact they had called the wrong person.

This is a pretty busy site. We had to wait about 20 minutes to return the trailer on Sunday. Maybe you could add a couple of people during the busier periods? i know it was a Sunday and that's most people's weekend. Maybe it was just a fluke. Metrics would bear out whether that's the case or not. That's my only recommendation.

Reserve was easy and so was pickup of the truck. Drop off was another story. When I pulled up there was one visible employee cleaning on another truck. He made no attempt to greet or acknowledge me. This went on for another 10 minutes. He then pulled away in the truck and did not return for another 10-15 min. There was also no one at the desk inside and a long line forming in there. After the outside guy appeared once again I asked if he was going to check in the truck waiting (2 more arrived after me) and he said yes like it was a pain for him to do. Not good service on the end of my rental and will make me look harder at other options in the future.

My reservation was made over the phone early Tuesday morning. Seems that when the store you call doesn't answer? A rep from U-haul some where does. My rep, screwed me. I clearly told this woman that I needed a 17" truck late Tuesday evening thru Thursday evening. She asked me appox. how many miles I would need to base bill my credit card. I told her 600 miles. I thought all was good until I went to the store On Nevada to pick up my 17' truck. It was there, and then that manager Dallas Garza informed me that she had no truck for me to use. She wouldn't allow me to leave her store with a truck. A mad scramble went on from here. I made the reservation, obviously U-hauls phone people screwed up. I generally rent from U-haul every other week as I am self employed and depend on their fleet to assist me with a busy schedule. I was able, after hours mind you go to a different location and use my phone to sign out a truck. It took me an additional three (3) hours to accomplish this. This error U-haul made could have cost me $6,000.00 in business those two days had this final option not worked out. Yes, Dallas Garza aided me in the pick up off this after hours truck but it should not have been so complicated. Be sure when speaking with a U-haul rep on the phone that is NOT of where the store is you're calling to go over the arrangements verbally 2 or 3 times to ensure you are getting what you need at the time you need it and for the time period you need it. I am still quite disgusted ( feeling extreme dislike or disapproval ) of this last experience and thought I'd send in this review.

The only issue I had was when I had questions they never answered their phone. Someone in another state eventually answered it but I am not sure they even could spell U-Haul let alone answer any questions. I was transferred and it took about 30 minutes on hold before they answered and they didn't seem to know much either. In general your customer assistance is non existent..

I was told by U-Haul that I had to drive approximately 15 miles to pick up my car hauler only to be told that my hauler was broke. Very unkept woman manager then told me I had to drive to another distant location to pick up the trailer. VERY disappointed with the Fountain location!!

Customer service was awesome. When i arrived arpund 7:30 am. The young lady who helped me was multi tasking, managing multiple customers and giving polite and efficient customer service. She had a continuous smuke although it required alot of hustle that is rarely seen in customer service anymore. When i returned the truck aeound 1:30 same situation... she was Working hard but had a smile on her face and provided excellent customer service.

Don't take 'reservations' and send confirmation emails and then call customers and tell them you over booked and don't have any trucks for them. That's called lying and impacts people who are moving in a big way. Just say up front that there's no equipment to rent. Figure out a better model so you're not punishing customers and tarnishing your own brand. Every one of the people in my life knows I bought my first home and they ask how its going moving in, or how the big move was. I tell them that my home is great and how much I love it. Then I tell them how much a loathe u haul and they should never rent from u haul, ever. Because they operate on a broken business model of over booking and taking it out on their customers. Thanks my feedback. Treat customers better. Period.

When renting the van I denied the additional insurance. The van keys were in a place to not use it so the had to change keys in the computer at which time they added the additional insurance. I didn’t realize they charged me that until I got my emailed receipt yesterday. When they rang it up I told them I didn’t want it but yet I was still charged. I go there often but this upset me. I’m sure it wasn’t done on purpose but not paying attention ended up charges that I paid which is wrong.

The location was fine; however, the 26’ truck needs a Diesel engine. It does not have enough power to haul a full load and pull a trailer across country. Also, the roadside assistance was not good. The trailer hitch drug on a high point of a parking lot entry and the truck got stuck. It took 3 hours and multiple phone calls to get a tow company to assist. Each time I was promised a call back in 10-30 minutes with an update. This rarely happened. I had to call again. The first tow company that was dispatched was from Greeley Colorado - 47 miles from my location! There were at least three local companies within 5 miles of my location. Get your procedures straightened out, uhaul!

I had a great experience. Had gotten reservations in advance. Arrived before opening to ensure timely service. Was out within 10 minutes. Couldn’t have been smoother. The only improvement would be us on the 24 pick up. Would of loved to used it but felt it was too confusing and quite invasive getting other people’s numbers out and having them called for verification. Also my cost for total rental surprisingly good.

We were told when we rented (at 4:00 on Friday), that if we couldn't bring the trailer back by 4:00 on Sunday, to give them a call and they would work with us. We were returned the trailer at 4:43, and were charged for an additional day. After telling us on the phone at 3:30pm as long as we got the trailer back by 5pm when they closed they wouldn't charge us for the additional day. That didn't happen. They said we would have to call corporate to get our refund. They charged us for the extra day on the trailer, but not on the utility dolly. pretty good scam going.

When we arrived, we learned that the total renting experience was now on computer. The attendant was very helpful and got us through the process, but for an elderly person, this fully computerized process is not user-friendly. We were not able to locate the key for the unit, but the yard attendant found it for us. Also, the unit was listed as clean, however, there were cigarette ashes all through the cup holders. We do like this U-Haul location, but they cannot preform the services and duties expected by customers when there isn't enough help there for them, nor can they do their duties efficiently when they are constantly needing to assist the customers in computer programs. I really don't think the computer thing is a positive direction for U-Haul. Public assistance and support are far better than quick service by a machine and less employees. Just my opinion.

My rental truck broke down. Due to poor maintenance inspections. The truck I rented had a power steering leak. Which is also tied into the brake system. So the brakes aslo we're not working, which I found out when the truck wouldn't stop and I almost hit another car. To top it off I had my son in the rental with me. I was told by the manager that they do a monthly maintenance inspection on the rental equipment. So either they didn't do the monthly inspection or it should be done more than once a month.

The store was understaffed so I had to spend 20-30 minutes in line for each visit to schedule the installation, drop off the truck, and pick up the truck. Not a problem, just very inconvenient. My complaint is that the spare tire was removed for the installation and not put back correctly. Again, inconvenient and frustrating. The hitch installation itself is great, works well, and meets my needs. Thank you.

I sold my house so I used Uhaul 2 times this week. The service was awful! The workers are over worked to the point where they are rude to paying customers. One worker was so fustrated he slammed hat down and cursed freely in front of everyone. I don't blame him because he was obviously over worked and under paid. But a business must realize why they are in business. For the people customers. When a business loses site of core goal customers We as customers must not spend our money at that buisness. I would not recommend anyone using this company going forward. I will be contacting corporate. The service was so horrible I was tempted to call the news. Don't spend your money at a place like this that treats customers like trash.

Returned after 1 hour. 8 miles. Employee practically ordered me back into to truck check lights, turn signals. I said I’d rather not climb back into truck due to disability. The employee got a bad attitude and decided he would just go on break and leave standing at the vehicle. Another employee came out and started yelling at me that if I didn’t want to help then get off the property and threatened to call police???!!!!!?!?! As disabled veteran I can say my experience was HORRIBLE!!!!!

The tires on the Uhaul weren't inflated properly. The trailer wasn''t even checked according to the drop off location. This caused a blowout on the freeway and almost caused a major accident. Furthermore this caused me and my family to have to sit on the freeway for an hour and a half waiting for a spare tire to be delivered.

Service member added extra fees, when asked why the total was much higher he stated that it was "taxes". Upon examination of the receipt at the end of the transaction, I pointed out to him he had added fees which I did not request. Location manager was able to assist in reversing those charges.

Inside of trailer was clean, but outside was a bit dirtier than I would have expected. Also, the breakaway chain on the trailer came loose about 5 miles from where I rented the unit. We re-attached and it stayed on for 300+ miles, so I suspect it wasn't properly hooked up by the rental tech.

I was in the store for almost an hour waiting to be helped. It wasnt that nobody was available to help me, Brendon refused to help, even after being asked multiple times by another employee. Instead he stood over the shoulder of another employee watching him work even though neither was new and the other gentle wasnt asking for help. Even with multiple people coming in and lining up behind me the only thing Brendon could be bothered to do was answer the phone and joke around with whoever was on the other end, he did help the people on the phone, but once he was done he'd go right back to ignoring the customers in the store, could even be bothered to greet or acknowledge anyone coming in.

Please make sure (especially with elderly customers) that your office and drivers do not give differing information on transportation fees. Most people can't afford large unexpected charges, and that is especially true for the elderly who are usually on fixed incomes.

Customer Service at its finest and the good in and of humanity in these most helpful of people I could have ever had the privelige of being their customer on this end. Truck broke down, had no way to return trailer. Staff went above and beyond to resolve my dilemma upon moving to a new state. If that’s not a welcoming and blessing from above I don’t know what else is. I was blown away and ever so happy to know that this crew, especially Tina and Ryan were able to take care of a total stranger they have never met. I may drive there one day and personally thank them if I could. We attempted three separate times to rent the store and go boxes. The first time we waited nearly an hour combined in line and at the counter and left with no boxes because no one knew how or had been trained to rent them out. We returned to buy regular boxes and checked again and they still could not rent to us. A third visit worked. I called to find out where I could return the boxes, since I moved and was now located a distance farther from where I got them. Again, no one knew the answer and I was sent to customer service and placed on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. Overall, staff were pleasant but clearly not trained appropriately or sufficiently for demands. Lines were long and people were waiting for a long time to get help. On our first trip, lines reached the door by the time we left. I will never rent from uhaul if I can help it.

This was an average experience for me and I have used U-Haul before for trailer rental. Unfortunately now you are requiring 3 contacts besides the person renting. I felt the U-Haul employee was then going to be ask me for a DNA sample and then finger print me. Your staff agreed this seemed to be overkill but explained its because of theft of trailers. I would think better ways to track your assets could be utilized like hidden GPS trackers although potentially expensive would allow monitoring of equipment. My other complaint was that I had tried to rent this trailer from a location close to me and then when I arrived was told they didn't have my trailer but that another store did have my reservation.... Inventory issues or tracking issues and if they didn't have the available trailer a follow up email with confirmation and address location should have been sent. Instead of this I got a confirmation email with no address that I could find. The staff I dealt with were nice enough and are not the reason I wouldn't recommend renting from U-Haul.

The staff was friendly and professional. They went over how to hook and unhook the car transporter.The Uhaul main office called 2 days before pick up because they did not have any 26 foot trucks in the area, so they offered us two 15 foot trucks with car dolly and transporter. When we went to pick up the trucks I noticed the safe move insurance was not on one of the trucks. The clerk Crystal made sure she had the full coverage I wanted on all the equipment. It really pays to have the safe move insurance because car transporters are not so easy to move around.

Stop having your employees use their personal phones to take pictures of driver licenses. I dont care if it is an app. It is very unprofessional. According to forbes magazine U haul has more the 3 billion in revenue and a billionaire, founder/ceo you can afford to stop being cheap and invest properly in technology. I am wondering if i should contact a legal team to see if your orgainization is violating privacy laws. Your store made me provide an alternative person for emergencies after he took my credit card info, drivers license and to boot he still had to write a manual contract because your insufficient network wasnt working. I told the assistant supervisor that he should have asked me to take a picture of my license on his personal cell phone because he doesn't have any security measures on his phone that can protect against identity theft. He under his breath said the uhaul app doest either and besides my company makes me do it. He then calls someone from the back and provide him with a devise that looks like an inventory tool from 1996 which is supposed to be the mobile device that are supposed be using to take pics that are connected to the network and uhaul app. I go to check in my vehicle 3 to four hours later it still took 25 minutes to check out. All the supervisor and the General Manager had to say was that. They never had to do a manual contract before thats why it took so long. I find that hard to believe because if your hard ware dont work so much thay u make your employees use their personal cell phones to conduct uhauls official buisness, they probably have to manual contracts more than they would like to admit. Very poor experience from start to finish. Especially by an American company that is listed in Forbes has billionare owners and is not a small company by any means. Change your processes or U will become extinct like your contemporaries Sears,Toys R Us, Payless and eventually the dying breed J.C.Penny. Because people can do it better than U and are doing it better than U. U haul, U Failed!

When I reserved the truck, I was NOT informed that U-Haul had to make 2 contacts on the spot to confirm my identity. I had to go find 2 people who would answer their phones when U-Haul called to do this, which took an hour out of my available time. No one answers the phone when caller ID comes up U-Haul thinking it's marketing. This was a huge problem that day. That is very bad for business relations to the customer. If I had been informed, I could have had it set up when I arrived at the rental location. There was a snow storm I was trying to beat, but this caused a delay. I will not rent from U-Haul again due to this reason and discourage others from renting from them too. The doors on the truck were both very difficult to close leaving the door light indicator on the dash lit until they could be slammed hard enough to shut them off. The trailer indicator on the dash was always on though I didn't have a trailer. It was snowing very hard before I got back home after dropping off the truck and having to go to the grocery store. I would also like to know where this "environmental" charge goes to; that's ridiculous. Next time I need to rent a truck, I will do it from a small local business. Never will I put my family through that kind of hell again because of stupid corporate policies that only serve to screw the paying customer. This was a very bad experience because I was not informed of all the insane policies; extremely poor enforcement and notification of lousy corporate policies. Why should I pay for what someone else did? That's the last time I will use U-Haul. I also filled the gas tank past where it was when I got it, but they still charged me for 4 extra miles I didn't accurately guess when renting the truck. Do yourself a huge favor and find a better rental option than U-Haul. I didn't like the way the staff dictated policy and was very unwilling to accommodate my disability. Plus the delay caused me to be out after the heavy snow started. Customer service is not what they do, it's a customer dictatorship with no accommodation or appreciation for the paying customer. U-Haul has gone way down hill since the last time I rented from them for the sake of profit only. They seem to have forgotten the customer made them the big corporation they enjoy today; ungrateful and demanding they are now. Who's paying Who?

The day I rented between 8-9am, I searched online for what your website was telling me was available. I booked a 20 ft truck for a 8pm pickup. A little after 6pm I received a call and was told that they put me in a 15ft truck instead because they dont have any 20 ft trucks. 15 ft was too small for me so I called other Uhaul places and was told to look online again because that would show me "What place has a 20 ft in stock". I went online again and found a 20ft available at the Union blvd location so I set my reservation to pick it up at 8pm. A little time passes and I receive another phone call, again my reservation is again changed to a 15ft truck less than two hours before my move starts. When picking up my truck, the uhaul location had at least 10 if not more 20 ft trucks sitting in their lot at different locations. If I had known before 6pm I could have booked with another company that had a bigger truck. Instead I was stuck with a smaller truck that forced me to take two trips on my move and costs me double the miles. Your website does not give accurate availability of trucks, then lets you book that truck, only for you guys to change it to a smaller truck (2 sizes smaller) right before my move when I have no choice. I would call that a bait and switch would you not? If I knew at the time Uhaul would not have any 20fts then I could've looked at other options to make my move more efficient. On top of that the extra trips took extra time and I wasn't able to complete my entire move. I will be renting a truck from someone else this weekend to complete it. My other big frustration is I booked for 24 hrs from 8pm pickup to 8pm dropoff. Somehow when I pickup my truck it magically changes to a 7:45 drop off then the next day to a 7:00pm drop off. I would like to know how or who continued to change my drop off time. If I would've dropped off at say 7:55pm would I have been late?

When we walked in we weren't acknowledged. The desk women seemed bothered that they had to help us through the whole exchange (they laughed and talked with each other the whole time). We drove across town from another location, because we had specified we needed a trailer with swinging doors (not a roll up)...and this location was showing they had it, while the previous location didn't have it (it was specified in my reservation, weeks before, over and over again, that that is what I needed). When I asked one of the ladies if the trailer was indeed the one with a swing out door, she said that she doubted it was, and that the uhaul employee we talked with on the phone probably lied to us because, "they're trying to just get the sale". They DID have the right tailer. The two men who actually met us in the lot we're nice and helpful.

The whole experience with U-Haul was excellent. From the faculty to the staff and also the care given to moving my belongings from one state to the other was amazing. You made my move stress free.

I only needed the unit for a week and was charged a month, being told I would be refunded. When I moved out of the unit no refund was made. Calling the manager was pointless and the GM was unhelpful.

They are way to busy to only have 1 person at the front desk. They are always at least 2-3 people waiting. People at front desk are always very nice, but unfairly to busy. They need more help.
