The customer ahead of me inexplicably took 45 minutes to rent a van. Only one person was working at the counter. Another employee seemed to be doing everything- good on him. A third employee did nothing but hold her coffee. The focus should be on the customer. Other stuff can wait. I could have been out of there in less than 10 minutes. Almost took one hour. The lot guy didn't know how to plug in my connector. I taught him. Everyone was polite and it seemed like that one guy was running the whole place and doing everything. He was great. Thank you.

I borrowed a 5x8 trailer, but when all the papers were signed the staff couldn't find the trailer and replaced me with a 4x9. When I returned the trailer, the staff commanded inexplicably. The staff could have moved the trailer manually, but it took me a long time to move a few meters.

The location (Tire store) i had originally booked was closed, which the system did not mention this, which wasted our time to go back and forth from one location to the next. Please indicate in the booking process the hours of operation of each place and if it ends up landing on the day they close to not allow us to book it and prompt us to book the drop-off at a different location that is opened at the time of drop-off. Merci.

The only issue was they are understaffed and the whole sign in process and hook up of the trailer took very long. It is not the staff's fault as there should be more of them. Finding ways to streamline the check in process would be very good especially with repeat customers. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

They didn't log the kilometres accurately. They just picked a number out of the air to charge me for km despite their "app" that is supposed to avoid that. So like most things. The tech is for the company, not for you. Plus it was dirty. And they don't seem to really GAF

I am very fed up with Uhaul. First my pickup location was Surrey, that had no guarantee pick up then They moced me to abbotsford, BC. for guarantee pick up but just a day before they said no truck available. Only truck available was 15 feet at Coquitlum,BC while I booked and asked for 20 feet from many days before. Without solving my issue and giving me credit for harassment I suffered. Dead battery so needed roadside service. Handled and rectified quickly. Wording on printout so tiny could barely read to follow instructions for roadside service. Initially told to refill gas tank to specific level. Not sure how to do that if I'm outside pumping the gas. Couldn't refill tank, as I was instructed by roadside service not to turn off truck. Received apology from UHaul on return and was not penalized for not refueling. Handled very quickly and nicely. Appreciated after a hard local moving day. Also, try to get there early for rental pickup as there was a long line up at my 7am appointment time. Didn't leave until 7:45am.

Staffs at receiving don't give clear instructions as to how the trucks should be returned. They boss around their clients…. I guess it comes with the season (peak season) or is it really the culture of U-Haul (?!?) When it's peak season and your trucks are in-demand, the attitude changes…

Booking on your website is, truly, awful. The first time I booked, my confirmation email had all the correct information... However my actual booking, as confirmed on my U-Haul account, had a different time, at a different location, in a DIFFERENT CITY. How does that even get messed up so badly? When I changed my reservation, I eventually managed to get all the right info, all across the boards but... The day before my rental, when I went to diligently check in early, the time had been changed with NO NOTICE. From a 10:30am check-in time to a 4:30pm check-in time. Luckily this location could fit us in earlier, and last minute, but come on guys. If I make a reservation, I truly expect the information to be the same EVERYWHERE, and that the reservation details be upheld. Looks like I was also over-charged, so that's also fun.

I was called halfway through my rental and told that I was late bringing the truck back. After ensuring the clerk I was not late I was repeatedly told that I was late and that I would be penalized for coming back late. After I told her to look at the contract she said I was right and let me go. How do you not look at the signed contract of a client before calling to accuse them of being late and threatening fines? Truck experience was fine, but the customer service felt very disrespectful.

I was called the day before at 4:00 p.m. to tell me that my reservation had changed and they did not have 20 ft trucks available. I had already purchased a reservation 25 days ago. I was given no time to make changes or different plans. When I showed the pick up my truck the equipment that I purchased was also not in the truck. And in order to get the equipment I would have had to wait in line for almost an hour which I did not do because I had a move today. All in all with the headache from U-Haul I'm deciding to purchase movers instead of U-Haul and I will be advising everybody else to do the same

We had issues with the brakes slipping when heading down hill. I needed to extend the usage and had a very hard time getting through to the branch to extend the rental agreement. When I spoke with Joel has was extremely rude and unhelpful.

The uhaul booking website in general is very frustrating. My reservation pick up locations were changed last minute without letting me know and i spent an hour on hold trying to get through to someone. The only thing that was good were the friendly staff at this location, otherwise i was starting to lose my faith in uhaul as a business.

I was overcharged for fuel, this is based on the paperwork given showing level vs the pictures taken before leaving this location of the fuel gauge itself. This is the second time in 7-8 yrs this has happend to me at this location. I was reimbursed with a credit the first time, this credit was not honoured by uhaul at all even though there is absolutely no expiration date on the credit form itself. I have always enjoyed the staff as they are very friendly and knowledgeable, in most areas or ask for clarity if not sure. Christine runs a tight ship at this location and coodles to her and her staff for a great job. Hiccups happen, I just wish I did not have to over pay for them out of my pocket.

The truck had some damages that were not marked. It had not been swept in the back. When I picked it up they mentioned there was a better deal than what I booked and I mentioned I would need a couple more kilometers. The person I spoke to mentioned that he would add 10 extra. When I got back I went 1 over the amount with the extra 10 and I was charged an extra ,67$ which is obviously not a big deal but I didn't feel like what I was told in the morning was true.

The website made it look like there was an elevator to access second floor. There was not at this location. And the second floor units had a large ledge at entrance so we could not wheel heavy items into it but had to lift them in. And the description of what could fit was incorrect. Not enough space to store furniture and contents.

I was charged for refueling even though I had refueled the truck. If I hadn't taken pictures as proof it would have been difficult to prove it. I had to waste time calling in and requesting a refund based on the pictures in took. Such a money grab, I wonder how many customers they do this to.

It is almost 10th time renting the trailer from this location. I had a good experiences previiosly but not this time. This time, the trailer they gave me was locked. They asked me to wait 3 mins then 5 mins and 10 mins whie they are trying to break the lock. I waited 15+ mins and asked them to switch to the other trailer. Then then switced it for me. AFTER waiting for nothing. Upon returning noone was there to help, asked me to wait and wait. I ended up unhooking it all and online return. What's the point of having a person in the location

The manager of this location lied to me, indicating that he had sent an email with a $20 credit to partially compensate for my overfilling the truck by an excess of 20L, which corresponded to approximately $40. I never received the email providing $20 credit. The manager resorted to this lie to dismiss me, after a lengthy discussion where he displayed total inflexibility and unwillingness to compensate me for overfilling. The reason why I deliberately overfilled the truck is that I didn't want to be charged $30 and $2,42/L should the fuel indicator show less than 1/4 tank. The dial indicator didn't move after filling the tank with 5,7L, which was indicated on the contract as the amount required to restore the original fuel volume in the tank, so I had to keep filling up the tank until eventually the indicator moved back to 1/4 tank. The contract is set up in such a way that, if the tank level is around 1/4 tank, it has to be restored to at least 1/4 in order to avoid pricy filling charges ($30 + $2,42/L), regardless of the volume of fuel indicated in the contract as the volume required to restore the fuel level.

Everything was perfect with the unit but unfortunately the shared parking lot with the Nissan dealership made it an absolute nightmare trying to drive back too the storage entrance. I'm not sure what's going on there or if it's just temporary.

Can't say enough about the wonderful service received from staff, especially Christie. From beginning to end she was kind and helpful in making our storage needs a seamless experience. I would have rated 5 all the way except the last day the automatic exterior lights weren't working... it was the only time it happened and the staff was looking into the problem immediately. Additionally, access to the storage units from outside was tight a few times due to lots of parked cars and trucks but we managed regardless. Overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend uhaul storage.

The adjacent Honda dealership filled up the shared lane with vehicles stacked multiple levels deep every day, and U Haul trucks were often parked on the other side. This left very little space to maneuver a vehicle, load, unload, etc. Rental truck receiving area was often clogged with trucks coming in, completely blocking the storage unit access. I voiced my concern to two different managers, nothing was done. Access to the storage units was also restricted or blocked completely during a construction project on the Skytrain line (now completed), which made it extremely difficult to load/unload. No compensation, advance warning was provided, nor was there an apology forthcoming for the inconvenience . Waiting for counter service was very slow. Not uncommon to stand in line for 20+ minutes to speak with someone. Staff was friendly, many of the complaints were out of their control (except for the Manager).

Water had leaked into my unit. Destroying my antique ivory screen.... which I paid 3200 for 20 yes ago.... which would have increased the value substantially. Did not feel satisfied with a "shame about your luck" attitude. I was texted the claims number, but was already told by manager that they would not pay that amount. Improperly trained staff. Undestaffed. Took 90 minutes to rent a storage locker. Was asked to wait while they helped people who came in after me. Management would not answer or return their calls.

The negative part of this rating is due to the fact that you have a 2nd floor WITHOUT ELEVATOR ACCESS, otherwise it would be higher rating.

It was too expensive and when the price went up then I decided to look elsewhere otherwise everything else was amazing Just to store stuff in a box is not worth it when the price hours up thank you

The only drawback is the hours of accessibility to the unit. Would be nice to not have to wait 3 months to be able to pay the fee for after hours access.

Check in and out was easy and getting in to the unit was hassle-free, however a one bedroom apartment does not fit in a 5x6x10. We had to leave 2 large items out (couch and desk).

Made a reso in July for aug 15. Was called 5 days before to say if I didn't take possession today I would lose my reso. Terrible business model. Canceled my reso and will never come back. Embarrassing

Great facility. Second floor units are hard to access with heavy objects. A lift would be helpful.
