DO NOT LEAD CUSTOMERS ON. I received a notification that not only would the truck and trailer not be at the selected location, but they were in completely separate locations. Because of the additional driving and stops, it cost us several hundred dollars in extra labor hours because I did not have the truck on time.Steven M.
At first look the touch seemed decently clean, but when we got in the dash board and cabin was dirty and dusty, and I have allergies, so that was an uncomfortable situation. The outside was also dirty. I was over charged for furniture pads which I didn't use, we did not break the tag, and the over charged me on the miles. I rented a 26' truck. Was told that the truck would be brought up front. And it was. Fifteen minutes later I found someone to answer my questions like: am I all set to go now? Where can I park my pickup truck? Where is the gas cap located. Initially poor communication. Return was a breeze. Aside from this, the cost was reasonable and it met my immediate needsKen G.

There were pieces of cardboard in the drivers and passenger seat, so I'm assuming they don't inspect the trucks between drivers. Also, the front door shook like crazy while driving and it felt like it was about to burst open while on the freeway. Still managed to get the job done without slowing us down, though.Max M.

Ensure equipment is available before allowing rental. Unfortunately for me, because uhaul changed my location last second and the site couldn't find the original equipment I was forced to forfeit my plans to utilize the trailer thus the rental was a waste. I was able to order an appliance dolly when I reserved, but when I went to pick up the truck, I was informed they did not have that available for me. Why have it listed as something I can rent if it's not available? What if that had been integral to my moving needs that day and I couldn't have done without? Was allowed to park my car there while I used the truck. When I returned the truck after-hours, there were a ton of trucks parked in a row behind me without room for me to get my car out. I was able to drive over the parking barrier carefully to get out, but that was less than ideal.Alicia S.

Equipment drop off was awful. Took 25 minutes. Not exaggerating. Sat in the trunk for a while (several minutes) before anyone came. When someone finally did come, they got in the trunk and sat in there for a while (several minutes), then got out and disappeared for a while (sold 10 minutes). I took a peak around the corner and he was filling up propane tanks. Then he came back and sat in the trunk some more. I received an email receipt while he was sitting in the truck. All of that took 25 minutes. I continued waiting for the guy to get out of the truck and tell me I was all set or something like that. Then another employee came out to check in a different vehicle and told me I could go. The first guy never said anything to me about the check-in being complete and me being able to leave. I guess he was OK with me standing next to the truck looking at him forever or something. I rented a truck from a different location a couple days later and when I checked it in it took less than one minute. I pulled up, a guy walked up, I got out, and he said you are all set and we will email you a final receipt.ANDY B.

The trailer was clean. Unfortunately after loading the furniture & other belongings. The door wouldn't come down. I called UHauls road assist & less than 2 hours later a service guy came & disconnected the bound up wire. I was able to finish loading & close & lock the trailer up .Barb V.

Follow through. A couple of months ago I had U Haul install a hitch on my vehicle. What was supposed to be a 3 hour job turned into a 9 hour job. What was particularly frustrating was that after repeated phone calls to see what was going on, (I think this answering service you use which prevents talking to personal on site is pathetic) I never received a call back all day. When I reported this to your site they of course said they were sorry and would e mail a voucher, which never showed up. This was all through your Alpine Ave grand rapids, MI location.I then attempted to rent a trailer for a load I needed to transport 8/28/22 and when I showed up to get it at your Burlingame, Wyoming MI location we discovered the trailer wiring on the brand new hitch you installed does not work, after I was gauranteed it was checked and working when it was installed. Instead of. $93 charge for a trailer, I was forced to rent. $300 truck (which is all they had at the time) and drive a second vehicle. Would you rent from you again after all of this? I won't and you can be assured my social media friends probably won't either.Jeffrey S.

I only went 11 miles in the truck and you guys charge me $20 in gas. The previous weekend I rented a truck from a Grand Rapids location and ended up paying the same amount for the one I rented at this location for 6 hours as I did for the one I rented there for 24 hours. Plus I had used a credit card to put the reservation hold. at the end of the truck drop off I entered the card I wanted the money to come off and they did not take it off that card they took it off the one I put on hold that caused me to have a $32 overdraft fee.Wanda P.

The service was really bad. The window was left open overnight during a rainstorm, so the driver's seat was wet throughout the ride. The tires needed air as soon as we received the rental. And the price was not what was quoted to me.Paul G.

Second vehicle in a month I have picked up with less than quarter tank of gas. Not fun to have to search for gas station as soon as I pull out of parking lot. No truck should be leaving with less than half. You can do better.Todd S.
I rented a fifteen foot moving van. The van to which I was directed was not the van I rented. I spent several minutes trying to find the correct rental. The rental also had less than one quarter of a tank of gas (as such I returned the rental with more fuel than when I picked it up, being told: "Just put a quarter tank of gas in it in and you will get credit when you bring it back". These factors put me behind schedule (not to mention the long line upon opening which put me further behind schedule. I was also charged for a furniture dolly and utility dolly which I did not take. The van was dirty in the cargo area (I cleaned it upon return). The cab was clean. The van also had alignment and wheel imbalance issues which made it difficult and uncomfortable to drive. Overall, this was a disappointing experience.Glen F.

Make a larger sign on the building that points to the BAR CODE. On your site, when you do an after hours drop off it says the bar code is located North side of building by the propane. It is NOT by the propane. IT IS ON THE BUILDING AND VERY SMALL. Not the easiest to find. People don't like driving or walking around empty parking lots at night.Jon M.

Lo único del storage es que me dijeron que cabía dos cuartos y el truck cabían dos cuartos y era grande por dentro aunque estuve que dejar cosas en Mississippi. Y yo pensé que así de grande era el truck de dos cuartos así de grande sería el storage. Y no fue así estuve que poner la mitad de mis cosas y las de mis hijos en el storage y la otra mitad en mi carro y en un sótano.. Mi experiencia con todo el personal que me atendio fue muy buena. First of all I have rented from here several times. Some good some bad... When I pulled in Saturday afternoon to return trailer, there was a van parked under the rental return canopy and another customer with a truck and trailer pulled in behind me. Stood for a couple minutes till a guy came over grunted and told me to put trailer "over by the gas tank". I told him ok, but he will have to move the van in front of me because of the truck behind me. He said nothing, went in the back door and never returned. Five minutes later standing in the 95 degree heat, the very nice multi colored hair girl that was there when I picked it up, came and asked what was going on. I explained, she apologized about his "lack of communication skills" and got the key to move van. She said she would prefer I pout it back where we got it, I said no problem, dropped trailer there and left. Four days later I get a bill saying I dropped it off Wednesday, not Saturday and charged me for that. Uhaul took care of the charge, but... I will use another location from now onBRIAN S.

It was a Sunday and the place was busy, so I understand we could not get as much attention as we would like. I feel the it could be a lot clearer how to find the storage location, that you should cut the tie wrap and proceed, that a name on the tag to confirm you are in the correct place. This is a very strange place. As you drive up you can see the doors for the storage units on the outside of the building, each with a unit number marked on it. But once you are there, it turns out they are fakes - just painted on a blank wall. The actual units are inside. A sign says that there is heat to keep it from dropping below 45 degrees, so if you have something that shouldn't freeze and the heater actually works that would be a good thing. The manager rented me a unit, had me pick a PIN and then led me to it. First he taught me to enter my PIN on the Check In/Out keypad, and then do it again on the Open Door keypad a few feet away. There's a notice on the Check In keypad that if you don't check out again when you leave, they will charge you a penalty fee. Then he told me I was in Section D, and led me to a staircase going up! I asked if there was a way to load in without climbing stairs, and he said there was a loading dock out back. The hallway needed someone to sweep and pick up empty bottles and such. The unit itself was swept clean, and was empty except for the rat poison dispenser. I don't know if every unit got one, or if I was just lucky. When I was ready to load in I parked at the loading dock and lifted my boxes up to it from my car. I used my PIN at two keypads to get in, opened the door - and there was a steep ramp leading from the dock to the storage level! There were carts I could use, at least. There were notices on them that I would be charged a penalty fee if I didn't put them back where I found them. I also saw that there were storage units along the ramp, the doors were at the same height as all the others, which meant that the bottom of the doors were anywhere from half a foot to four feet higher than the place you'd stand to load into them. You'd need a ladder to enter. Uh... A couple times I used the front door to enter the building instead of the loading dock. I did my business and then the door wouldn't let me out again! I tried crashing it open hard (I am not a light guy) and several different ways, but it wouldn't open. The first time this happened, I went and told the manager, and he said he knew there was a problem but they weren't able to get it fixed, and I should do whatever I had to get out when I needed to. The second time that I couldn't get it openI went out a door marked Emergency Exit Only, which took a lot of force but did open up eventually. There was a sign on it that anyone going out of it without an Emergency would be charged a penalty fee.Gerald E. | Expérience générale

The general manager, Ryan, was rude and unhelpful. However an employee named Jared was amazing and bent over backwards to be helpful and problem solve when the computer system for self-storage wasn't working. He was apologetic for the behavior of his manager and did a great job smoothing things over with customers when his boss was rude and impatient with them. I only need until for 2 weeks, and when I went to cancel the man said ok, then I got a bill, call uhaul and they said the would email management. I asked for a copy and was told it was an inter office email so I could not get one. fast forward 30 days and another invoice! The check in process was fine. After getting a flat 9 mins from our location we had to wait 5 hours for roadside assistance because not only did it take almost an hour to just get a hold of someone they got our location wrong sent after waiting 2,5 hours then had to wait another hour for a guy when the job took less then 5 mins to fix.
