The equipment needs to be checked in right I worked for uhaul in Norfolk when I returned the Tm trk on time I was told I was ok I could leave even though the truck had not been checked in yet upon leaving I went across the street to burger king upon that I rcvd my receipt I was billed outrageously I brought it back with the right gas level I just left the gas station before returning it when I rented it out the day before I did the 80 deposit on my debit card which I know now was a big mistake I should paid with cash they left my acct. -115,06 I was charged 220,88 as I stated before I worked for uhaul before so what I am getting at this is a Avenue to steal now I have to get with my bank to rectify this but in the meantime this leaves me without funds for the rest of the weekend this needs to be rectified fast thank yousteven O.

The whole experience with U-Haul was horrible!!!!!!! From booking the reservation (their representatives have horrible customer service), to checking in for the reservation (system wouldn't recognize my email or phone number so sat on the phone for a long time as they tried to troubleshoot the issue but they never figured it out and just told me to check in at the store), to arriving at the store and the store not even having the item that I reserved. The item that I reserved was being used to move some things in my home as I prepare to get things ready for my move. My experience was sooooooooo bad that I will NEVER use U-Haul again. I had them as a prospect for my move but that will absolutely not happen. I can't express enough how horrible this very small experience was so I can't imagine using U-Haul for a big move. I expressed how bad my experience was to an employee at the location, he said that everything sounded about right because U-Haul makes everything difficult. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.Carmen W.

Arrived at 10:30 for my 10:00 appointment, I acknowledged I was late picking up. I had uploaded my Drivers license and paid online and added insurance . So I was puzzled when they attempted to charge me and also inquired if I wanted insurance. Then I was handed the keys, no directions as to where the truck would be or anything. After checking three trucks for the license plates I found the truck. Once I returned the truck at 12:00 with under the allotted miles I felt I should've been handed a receipt or something that shows I returned the truck with the same amount of gas and mileage being that I should be refunded some monies. I hope to see an adjustment on my credit card.Danelle B.

The workers there don't look like they want to be there, the store is dirty, help is hard to find I stood in line twice for 15 mins without being acknowledged, by far the worst service I have received. The main issue I had with my experience is the misinformation that is given during the time of checkout (and this includes even the last time I rented a few months ago). Uhaul personnel have stated twice now that if you can't return it on time its just $20/day. After reading the actual contract, this is not the case. And after calling about it Sunday, it wasn't even a possibility. Lastly, I tried using the Uhaul app to return my truck and it wasnt Loading on 2 separate phones (Verizon and AT&T carriers). I called customer support and was told to use the website. This finally worked after 2 attempts.Erica P.

First, I would like to thank Kevin for assistance in clearing up a problem for me this evening September 28th, that should have happened on September 27th, when I returned the truck. The truck that I was issued was a 15 footer. I t sounded really bad, but we used it anyway. This truck need not be available for rental anymore. Vehicle wasn't working properly. Breaks went to floor to stop and truck was shaking a lot. We were afraid truck was going to break down while driving. Hub got stuck and we couldn't pull all the way down. Glove compartment didn't close so it was poking out on knees. Steering wheel was not working when making turns. Make sure you always get their insurance, that's what saved me from all those violations.Destini B.

I know this is not specific to this location but the $20 charge for after hours service is a bad policy. I have rented many trucks and sometimes returned after hours and never was charged a fee. This last one I returned the truck @ 4:58 but the door was locked. I didn't think about doing the mobile check in. Yes it is noted on the contract but doesn't feel right.Earl M.

Had trouble with the Uhaul app when I picked up the truck but the lady at the location was very helpful and had things straighten out in a few minutes. Truck was in excellent condition. Extending my rental an extra 24 hours was easily accomplished with a simple phone call to the location office. The most difficult part was dropping off the truck after hours using the app/website. The first time I tried the checkin process froze and I had to restart. Second time through it worked okay. All in all a very good experience, I would definitely rate from this location again.Duane T.

The guy who was at the front desk was not very friendly or customer service oriented. When we arrived at the front desk he was working with another customer that had a large order. He did not greet us, or tell us he will be with us in a few minutes. When it was finally our turn, he appeared angry and frustrated about something thst occurred prior to our arrival. Luckily he left to check to see if you all had something in the back. Another guy came out and waited on us. He was totally different from the other guy, very friendly and made us feel appreciated as customers. I am in the customer service business and I know firsthand it is not easy. First, this was not the location I requested. Second, when I got there I had to wait 40 minutes because the credit card processors weren't working and people were having issues paying. Third, they didn't have the size truck I rented and had already verified the day before they would. Fourth, they forgot to give me the furniture pads. Very unhappy with how long it took and that I had to drive 10 miles round trip out of my way to rent the wrong size truck.Darrin K.

When I arrived to pick up my trailer, there was no one behind to help me. An employee walk out from the back, walked past me without saying anything and not telling me what was going on. After waiting for nearly 20 minutes, the manager drove up, apparently running errands. She started to talk to me to help me with my reservation, I started to answer her question when another employee entered and talked over me and the manager. I purchased an indoor unit that should have been accessible via a large bay door from the outside. The manager explained that the bay door did not work so we had to unload and haul everything down from the truck down a hallway to the unit vs backing the truck up to the bay door and unloading our things directly into the unit.Erica G. | Expérience générale

The first unit I was assigned was not vacant and was a mess. So, I had to go back in and get a new unit assigned. Also, I was told I had to purchase a lock and it was not included despite what the website said. However, when I got the reassigned unit that was vacant, a lock was included. I made a reservation for a space the day before. When I arrived to the location, the staff member pretty much said "sorry, we gave it to someone else because we have too many requests." So, a loss of my time. What are reservations for? Storage unit rental was not very professional. Starting with the website false advertisements on deals. After paying was told that my reservation was not available and that I would need to go all over town to get my truck and storage unit job done. Then I after website problems I could not pay my rental. So they send me a rude letter of threatening to reposes my things . Not even a week late. Then I had to sit in a big line when all I needed was to pay. If that wasnt enough they're payment system would not take my credit card which I first paid without a problem . Counter lady was rude and obnoxious trying to say my card was declined. When my card was fine but they're payment system is faulty and without proper connections. Only addition I would make, make the out door storage lit up a little more. I am not sure what camera setup there is outdoor storage but I every time I went in before daylight, it was always dark. I still felt safe leaving my vehicle there. Also, Uhaul had the best price in the 100 mile square area for outdoor storage.Matthew G. | Expérience générale

Management at this facility has been very helpful and accommodating. On Sunday I found the young man that helped me was not overly friendly and didn't communicate enough. As my there was confusion around my storage reservation, he had to contact his manager (who was not working). Of course this was not a problem, but it would have been less frustrating for me if the associate would have just communicated more information about his dialogue with his Manager. It would have helped us out to have someone there for a later shift that could assist us. It took us a long time to return the uHaul truck we rented, because we finally finished unloading it and the office hours had just ended. The app would not work on my phone at all, so rather than having someone right there that could help, we were on hold for forty minutes with the uHaul company. One we finally got through to someone, we had a forty minute phone call with a representative just to do this process of returning the truck. It was really hard to go through that after being totally exhausted from loading and unloading the truck that day. Overall great customer service, clean place, we were happy. I never got moved in. 2 days and several trips to the store (check cameras and phone logs) and the lock was never removed from the unit. You don't know this but I'm moving and in the process of looking for a home. Hopefully that search only takes a month or two but with this market it could take up to 6. My stuff will be in storage until my search is done. I cancelled my unit with your company and went to a competitor because of the poor customer service. Your staff was friendly, but they didn't actually complete my transaction. Seriously the basics weren't done and it cost you whatever the final tally would have been for the allotted time I end up needing a storage unit. Your facility is literally across the street from my current home and I'm gladly driving the extra 10minutes up capital to Public Storage just so I don't have to deal with the hassle of your facility. I don't usually offer unwarranted advice but I will here: take 5 minutes and ensure that each customer transaction is actually complete and you'll avoid situations like this in the future. It would have taken all of 2 minutes to remove the lock off of my unit and I'd happily be depositing my stuff there now. Also getting your customers names right is probably important. My name is Joshua James Foots and it was entered as Joshua James in the system. Not a big deal in my book but honestly the first step to establishing a good relationship is knowing the correct name. They never took the uhaul lock off of my storage unit. I waited 30 minutes when the store was open and then I had to go because I had another appointment. The gentleman helping me said "I'll be sure to get the lock off in a few more minutes" I replied "Great I'll be back tonight to move in". I show up at 8:30ish with my friends to help me unload and the lock is still there. Office is closed, called customer service and they didn't have a phone number for anyone locally. It takes all of 30 seconds to take a lock off of a door. So as far as "move in" goes perhaps once I actually get moved in it'll be nice.
