Linda PCustomer Service was poor, employees where talking on personal phone device during booking with customer. Employees gave impression of laziness, complaining about logging in to the computer. Also outwardly complaining about customers entering the store 30 minutes before closing.

CLARISA WI was advised by your personnel Keiona to drop the truck at a different location and when I did that I was charged for not dropping the truck where I had got it from. I DID NOT APPROVE of the extra money that was withdrawn from my account and I'M going to challenge this and don't mind taking it up with the BBB. This is inappropriate and should never have happened. I consider it stealing from me.

Salena JThe only issue I have is there was only one person at the register assisting customers with rentals and purchases. The line was long and the process very slow. Having a customer use the scanner on an employee phone to make a purchase is unacceptable.
KAREN KI think the experience with the actual U-Haul was fine, but I think next time the confirmation should specify where the truck is and instruct us to download the app to prevent any confusion getting the keys from the key box. I also think giving a U-Haul less than a quarter empty with gas is distasteful, at least a quarter tank would've been helpful.

Frank RI rent a 10ft truck most weekends to sell items at a market. This location is ok except when they assign me a truck that gets blocked in by other trucks that have been returned throughout the evening. This has happened about 5 times in the last 12 months which is very inconvenient because it takes almost an hour to resolve it by phone or chat. Mostly, however, I think UHaul should start surveying the app/website experience which is perfectly awful.
MICHAEL GThe wrong pictures were uploaded to the visual check-in. But the customer service person helped us rectify that. We found the side view mirrors to either be too loose to stay in place or too tight to move. We finally did get them in the right spot for driving. Small things like that are easy to overlook but critical to a great experience.

When the trailer that I wanted to rent was not available, panicked, but she offered an alternative…a rental van, which worked out perfectly because I didn't have much time to waste and needed to get to my event. Renting the van obviously cost more than renting a trailer, but her quick thinking allowed me to satisfactorily service my customer with their last minute request for music equipment that they needed for an event that was starting 2 and a half hours later, and you know that satisfying your customer is most important. Cudos to the young lady that helped me help my customer.

WALTER BI made a reservation, and was told the unit I reserved wasn't available. I then had to have a representative (Giovanni) assist me with getting another uhaul storage location. He was great he was the only thing that deserves 5 stars in this process. The link I received for the new location to complete the check in said that I didn't have a reservation which I did. The app didn't work at all for online processes. Eventually I was able to move my stuff in. Then I wasn't even able to turn my uhaul truck to the new location because it was after hours. I had to take the uhaul truck to where I originally requested. I honestly feel like uhaul owes me some miles for the inconvenience.

But it's not the equipment that makes me come back, it's the staff and the manager. I just wish they could manage the pest issues within the storage area that customers bring in with their personal stuff.
jatuyana cPoor customer service - rented a truck and instead of being helped at the counter, the owner made me do self check-in on my phone. When I asked to close my account, the customer service agent asked me to come back to the facility and take a picture of my empty unit. They refused to go check themselves which was only a couple of steps from their desk.

Claver TThe customer service is awful! We rented a truck to deliver furniture to a local shelter for women and children to refresh a room. When picking up the truck the sales person overcharged us for furniture pads we did not purchased. Then told us she couldn't take them off and the general manager who was not there had to do it and would be there when the truck was returned. No other information was given. The manager was still not there when the truck was returned. They said write down your contact information and he will call you later. 3 days later I had to call to get the extra charge taken off. In the meantime I was charged $48 for 4 gallons of gas. When we picked up the truck it was on Empty. When we returned the truck it was on Empty. It is a scam! An extra $30 is charged if the gas is under 1/4 when returned even if their records say it was on 1/4 before renting it. Save yourself a headache!

For example during my check out process there was only one rep assisting customers at the desk. While he was checking me out of my unit, he was assisting multiple customers on the phone (customers called to pay their bill) and he was assisting customers behind me. I explained to him that I am paying movers by the hour and needed for him to complete my out check out process more efficiently; to my amazement the rep continued helping other customers. As a result I wasted approximately 40 mins and left unhappy.

No explanation of where my unit is located. Employees vehicles parked in the loading dock restricting access to the parking to unload for storage units. Employees not in uniform looking unkept, on their phones while checking in returning equipment and not paying attention to detail leading to mistakes and unwarranted charged. Will never recommend this location. Terrible leadership and management.

And even though I had insurance I KNOW it's a waste of time to complain and try to file a claim or whatever. So it is what it is and it was what it was...wasted monies. Staff was great but the rat droppings and mildewed boxes mean that I would either NEVER use your facilities again or in the future should I have to I would never purchase your boxes to pack my items in but instead use plastic totes. Why place a mouse trap in the compartment? To curtail the vermin? I lost a substantial amount of money and time on 01/14/2023, especially with the hired help. None of my helpers wanted to touch a single box after witnessing it! I did not have gloves for us because we were not expecting this! I'm stunned and disgusted. When I received my first storage area, the first thing I did before placing any item in was a prominent spot on the floor filled with mice feces! And so, being given another size of storage in less than three months, it worsened! I want compensation for all the time and money lost because of U-Haul's negligence!

I appreciated that because he could've kept going, but the fact he got out of his vehicle to help was genuine. Versus me being in the employee's face, and she brushed me off because she was closing it was not polite. But overall my experience was great.

AND the Central Avenue location needs MORE and BETTER moving equipment for unloading from vehicles to moving into the bldg!! There were only a few all in use! PLEASE!! When I made the reservation, I received a call informing me that I would receive a call 48-24 hours before pick up if the truck was available. I never received a call. I changed my truck rental to next week, 10/8, I believe and will probably change it again to later in October. I am not moving out as scheduled and was NOT able to change the move out date. They both explained U-Haul's Policies to me very explicitly and answered all my questions I had since this was my first time ever renting a Storage Unit from U-Haul. One evening after Office Hours, I was at the Property on Central Avenue where my Storage was located and I could not board the Elevator to go to the second floor. It appeared to be stuck or either other Clients/Customers was blocking the Elevator from moving. I waited 20 minutes then I noticed there was an after hours phone number posted on the wall with the GM's Cellphone number listed ( Corey Weaver's # ). I dialed his number and he immediately picked it up and identified himself as the GM and related to him how I am Disabled and needed the use of the Elevator but it was not working. Mr. Weaver said give him about 10 minutes and that he would drive back to the U-Haul location and investigate what was going on with the Elevator. I said Great and that I would be standing right in front of the Elevator when he arrived. Another 5 minutes pasted and the Elevator Opened with 2 Men got off with loaded Carts of Furniture. So, it appeared these 2 Men was blocking the Elevator with their Furniture until they finished loading up the Elevator with their items. Out of courtesy, I made another telephone call to Mr. Corey Weaver, as he was driving back into U-Haul to let him know that I was finally able to board the Elevator and told him what the problem was. Mr. Weaver thanked me for letting him know and then the rest of the evening retrieving my items from my Storage Unit went Perfect! I will let other Family and Friends know how accommodating U-Haul Storage Facility is and how U-Haul will go the "Extra Mile" for it's Clients/Customers!! Facility was clean but only one person on duty when I was there at 3:00. At one point she was trying to serve 2 other customers. Got in van and it was blocked by a truck. Called for help but eventually had to wiggle out from behind another truck to leave - cutting deeper into the 4 hours. Communication via the internet is way to complicated and cumbersome. Did not know I would have to complete check in before I left the location. Just another way to the cost of the $19,95 rental.

I thought to myself, WoW!!! So, just keep in mind, decent place, not the world's greatest customer service.

I will have to launder all my blankets, comforters, bedspreads, and clothing. I'm not happy with that at all, because it will just be an added expense for me. A female and male employees said they would clean out the unit because there were a lot of droppings on the floor. I'm hoping I won't find holes in my items!! I wouldn't recommend anyone to store things at your facility for those reasons.
