The cabin was filthy. Not that great of a feeling to be in such a dirty enclosed environment, especially during a pandemic. The interior lights of anything on the dashboard did not work, so I had to stop the truck and use a flashlight to adjust climate. Defrosters did not work and the windshield would not clear up.Joshua M.

The personnel needs to have better understanding of how online self services work because they hold me for 30 minutes after my rental pickup time trying to figure out what to do when I had on my phone a screen saying just get the keys when I arrived early for the the process. They take forever because only one person at the counter is actually taking care of the customer, 3 times it was the same. This location was friendly, helpful and very easy to work with. It was clean well organized and well staffed. They were careful and clear with information. It was seamless at oick up and drop off. Had an entirely different experience earlier in the morning at the Cleveland Hts OH location. We ran late to our reservation because one of our movers lost their keys. The female agent on duty was rude, unhelpful and downright mean. We walked away. I wound up calling the 1 800 number to find another available truck on my own instead of receiving the help I needed.MARY B.

We rented the truck to take deliver donated clothes from our Church. As confirmed by your employee, we drove it exactly 10 miles. And yet he further stated that since we used 5gallons of gas, there would be an additional $26 charge. As attested by the volunteers, the truck was not idling during pickup or delivery, so therefore, your equipment averages 2 miles to the gallon! Either that truck is extremely fuel inefficient, your employees erred in reporting or this was a blatant overcharge.JAMES J.

Customer service sucks they didn't explain the hours of operation to me nor did they explain how to get in & out of the building. They gave away my rental truck that I received a week ago. You don't need to do a thing but hang onto the staff at this location and give them all a bonus! This particular UHaul is the only location I will use- everyone does a terrific job of customer service, keeping the place clean, organized, and the equipment in good condition. They also maintain a great selection of boxes and supplies which I buy all the time now from them. Everyone seems hardworking and everyone always is busy here-they remember their regular customers, like me, and that is impressive considering the volume of business they have at this site. I have referred business and personal contacts to them and everyone is very pleased with their professionalism and attitude.MARGARET D.

I made my reservation online. When I came to pick up the truck, I had a hard time finding my truck, so I was driving around slowly to find it. As I was driving around slowly a short white woman with a raspy voice appeared at my car window and said "what are you doing?!" She really scared me. I told her what I was doing, and noticed she had a U-Haul shirt on. At first she said "the truck is not here… " I think she walked off at that time… I didn't know what to do, so I kept driving around slowly to find a truck, because the app said The truck was there. She popped up again beside the car and said "the truck is the last one down there. " I drove to the truck, parked in front of the truck, and started taking things out of my car to put in the truck. She appeared again and said something really quickly: I heard her say "… Click that you got the keys… "She quickly walked off. I kept taking items out of my car. That lady appeared again with the keys, and she left. I never saw her again. I arrived later than expected, and it took me longer than expected to put the items in the U-Haul, so I called the UHaul 800 number, and eventually ended up talking to that woman (I didn't expect that: her voice is very distinct: I asked if it was her, to verify and she said it was). I asked her if I could extend my time (I 1st thought I only needed The truck for four hours). She said that technically, I had the truck for 24 hours, "so when you drop off the U-Haul, just make sure you drop it off within 24 hours of the time that you originally signed up for the truck.") I decided to keep the truck for an additional day, so I called the 800 number to change the reservation. When I called, the customer service rep stated there was no record of me having the truck, and that I had canceled the reservation! I had also made arrangements originally to use a storage space at that site. When I came to drop off the truck, it was closed! No one had told me what time the office closed. Fortunately the female Security Guard was there, and was very helpful. I simply left the U-Haul truck where I originally parked it (in front of the propane tank area). The next day, that little white lady and a young man (thin, light brown) were at the desk. They both became quite agitated when I arrived (I arrived about 5-10 minutes before closing) The woman stated that they had to close in two minutes, and there wasn't much she could do. I told her that I had a truck full of furniture, and needed access to the storage space. She became even more agitated: "what's the number of your storage space? " I told her I never received a storage space number. She started moving even faster, and said something like "I don't have a space… I have something on the third floor… " I told her that I would take whatever she had, because I needed something to put the furniture in. She had the young man create a contract, he told me my Storage unit number, gave me a card to check in, and quickly told me about checking in and checking out.… Very quickly… When I walked over to access the storage space, I didn't know what door to go into. So I walked back over to the desk: the young guy was walking away, and never looked up to help me.It was obvious he did not want to talk to me. I roamed around the storage spaces… I was not given a map… I eventually found the space, and it was a space off the ground! It had a plastic green drawstring thing in place of the locker… There was no lock… I noticed all The other locks looked the same… No one discussed anything about the U-Haul locks (I have never rented storage space from U-Haul before). I called the next day, and spoke with someone on the phone (I Think it was José). He was very nice, and asked me if I wanted them to move the truck in the bay area. I told him yes. I Think I also told him that I needed a new storage space. Once again, I had arrived just before closing time (I work in Midtown every day, and cannot leave any sooner than I did). I was given a new storage space: 3229. When I went up to access the storage space, 3229 had a lock like all the other storage spaces, and a small red padlock above that one. I was totally confused, and went back down to the front desk. Once again, everyone was gone. The African-American gentleman that works outside was very kind… he wasn't able to help me, but allowed me to talk through all of my frustrations and made me feel better. The rest of the details are fuzzy… I remember trying to call U-Haul through the 800 number again: I was on hold for very long periods of time. I was trying to call during work, and could not stop working, so I would have to hang up and try again later. I eventually got in touch with Michael, who offered a storage space for 30 days for free (which was my original agreement online). It took a minute to find a ladder to get to my unit only to find out the ladder was not stable at all. I couldn't get the lock on and had to go all the way to the sales part of U-Haul to find someone . I didn't get his name but he was extremely nice and came to my unit and saw that there was an issue with the hole alignment.
