I made my reservation about 2 weeks in advance. A few days before pickup a received a text that my reservation had been changed to guarantee my equipment. There were multiple other uhaul store closer to my house than the one on my reservation had been updated to. My reservation was for a 15' truck. When I arrived to pick up the truck it was a 20' truck and they did not have the dolly I reserved. The truck had a damaged starter?, the passenger door lock was damaged from someone trying to pick the lock, there was a sticky lighter in passenger door handle. It seemed like a rent-a-wreck. I think that location was trying to send this wreck to another state so they didn't have it in their inventory for local rentals.

Better training for employees the young man that wrote me up had me waiting an hour and 15 min to rent a car dolley due to his inexperience with the computer he kept telling me that my truck would not haul the Honda civic on the dolley after about 5-6 times of him trying to set up in the computer he finally reached out to a young lady for help and come to find out he had that I was using the Honda civic to haul the truck end result I had an hour and 15 min wasted then when everything was done I had to wait another 30 min to have a new right light assembly installed because it didn’t work all this delayed me getting home an extra two hours

Several things were wrong starting with advertising services that they don't have any control of. Uhaul has an added feature for loading and unloading help, we purchased both of those and only loading help showed up. After multiple calls to Uhaul I was told Uhaul has nothing to do with that, if that is the case then, why dors Uhaul collect the money. We paid for this service for a reason and that reason wasn't to be put off till Monday when someone in management would be available to find the answer as to why the unloaders didn't show being that the truck had to be returned on Sunday My advise would be to do your homework pryer to using Uhaul and their failed system.

Had run arounds between a few stores in the Knoxville area & eventually reached customer service where they gave me a quote and the first 30 miles free due to being mislead by the stores saying they don't have the Size truck even though they did. & in person they didn't honor it and gave me even more run arounds they said it would "Be investigated" & get back to me on that. But I know how that works.

Coming from Tennessee I needed a bigger truck, but they did not have them. The only one we would rent is the small 10 foot truck. if I could've run the rest of my stuff it would've made it easier and less expensive move.

Pick up was great but took it back to where the contract said and they wouldn't take it back. On the phone for 17 minutes and then had to drive to the other side of town to find someone to take it. That location was great customer service

When I arrived to pick up my uhaul, I waited a total of 35 minutes in the store before seeing an employee. After the first 15 minutes, I called the store to see if maybe someone was in the back - no answer. Then called customer service and they were able to reach the manager on his cell phone. He said he was the only employee working and that he would be up shortly... another 20 minutes later he came to the front. Then it was another 10 minutes of waiting while he helped the other customer in line before he started helping with my reservation. So it took me an hour to pick up the van. I can empathize with being short-staffed, but it seems like being in the front of the store would be the priority over moving U-boxes around in the back. Then during the return, I observed a customer smoking a cigarette WHILE refilling a propane tank. The employees on duty observed this, commented to themselves about how dangerous it was, but I never saw them try to intervene or correct the situation. I will do whatever I can to avoid this location in the future.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent U-Haul rental. Despite having a reservation, it took far too long to get a van. I arrived at the desk 10 minutes after my 1:00 PM reservation, yet it still took another 10-15 minutes for the van to be ready. Thankfully, I had booked extra time based on a previous poor experience, but this should not be a recurring issue. When I finally received the van, the gas tank was only at a quarter full. I had to go back into the store to confirm that I wouldn't be responsible for refueling it fully, which was inconvenient. Worse, as I started driving, I noticed a foul odor in the van, which only got worse over time. Eventually, I realized the van was swarming with fruit flies/gnats. I later learned the van might have been used to haul food by a previous customer. Why this wasn't addressed before my rental is beyond me-it was absolutely disgusting. This experience has completely soured me on U-Haul. I will not use their services again and will advise my friends to avoid them as well.

Our vehicle had a severe front wheel imbalance, causing significant vibration and made for a very uncomfortable trip. Unfortunately, we didn't realize this until we had already loaded the vehicle and were on the road so there was no turning back at that point. We felt like the pick up facility and staff were very good. Just regret the vehicle we were assigned.

Staff at the location were very slow moving and unprofessional. When I picked up my rental there was only one woman working the desk with a line of people waiting to be helped. We waited almost 20 minutes before two male employees walked in to help. They were having a personal conversation with each other and did not greet any of the people waiting in line and whe they finally did start assisting people they continued having their personal conversation and not engaging with the people they were assisting. It was a very bizarre and completely unprofessional experience. When we walked in to return our rental there was no one in sight the desks were completely unmanned and we had to find a staff member to help us by knocking on the break room door asking for help. I've rented a lot of Uhaul's through my place of work and this was by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had at UhAul, I will not be returning to this location.

Understaffed, only one person working and had some trouble with the trucks. The first truck they gave me didn't start at all. The second truck was able to start, but the steering wheel was crooked, and the truck kept pulling to the right. On top of that, the ride was bouncy and uncomfortable. I put in proper amount of gas but they still charge me 3 gal of gas plus 30 addition service fee. Not happly.

I had to wait on told for 20 minutes in the morning when confirming my reservation. Then we had to wait 40 minutes after arrival for pickup. The employees were messing on their phones and taking forever to do anything. This was the second uhaul I have rented, but I will not be back to that location.

I signed up to do the entire process via my phone. The truck was not parked where the app said it was and I almost couldn't find it. Also, the keys were not in the lockbox but the app said they were. I had to stand in a long line to get the keys

The general manager was incredibly friendly and very customer-oriented, even after what we were told was a pretty awful day at U-Haul. Not all of the equipment we reserved was available, but he was still able to get us the help we needed for a successful move. The guy working in that location was very rude and unprofessional. He didn't want to do his job. He didn't want to pull the truck around when arriving and when I brought the truck back it was around 6:20 the store don't close until 7 he had already closed his drawer and had an attitude when I turned down the check being sent to me I paid a 100 dollar deposit in cash so yes would a want a check and he had an whole attitude when he had to give me what's was left from my deposit

Staff person was over-run and over-worked. Two staff members called in and quit while I was there. The one person working was a nice guy and doing as well as he could but he needed at least 2 other people working to handle all of the customers. Took 3-4 times longer to get my trailer than it should have. Trailer was old and fairly beat up but functional.

I think the only thing that needs fixing is the app. I reserve a U-Haul on the app and it took forever to actually claim it. The worker inside was easier than the app and was able to help me with the final steps. He was great!

I was incorrectly charged for gas. The tank was returned at the same level yet I was charged over $18 to put gas in it. The person checking me in even told me it was fine and didn't need any more gas.

I rented a unit and paid for it. Then the unit was to small so they gave me a bigger one. Nothing was said about having to pay more. Then a few days later I get a call saying my account was passed due and I owed $25 more. Thought it would have been settled then if I owed More.

The trip I made Thursday evening I drove the Uhaul truck from Palm Bay Florida to Knoxville Tn On October 5th and drive to Knoxville Tn The truck had no A/C When I left Florida I didn’t know there was no a/c until I got on 95 interstate heading north Map it was too late to turn around and report the problem I did tell the Uhaul company in Knoxville Tn On Clinton hwy There there was NO A/C

Area around the storage units is under construction. There is no security gate and you can not drive around the unit's building. I drive around to the right and to the end where there is more construction to reach my unit and then have to back up all the the way to the other end to exit. Other than that you run a good facility.

The staff was very friendly, I told her of the online offer and the trouble I was having and she figured out the problem and fixed everything. We got our thirty days free storage as promised and finalized our reservation for the truck and trailer thru the system. She really made my day yesterday after worrying about it the whole day before

Lighting is inadequate. Carts are very heavy, and you have to lift the (loaded) carts three inches to get them in the door, from the outside.

I was wanting to rent a small truck and storage unit from the same place he told me he did not have any 10-footers I think it was the truck with no sides on it as I'm leaving to go to Rutledge Park there's three in the front parking lot and he told me he didn't have any so I go to rub his pocket to pick one up and he said about picking up back to his store so he can have one I would get a free month rental on my storage unit he said if they don't handle it over there he will take care of it when I bring the truck back on Sunday so I'll come pick the truck up at Rutledge Park and tell them to run it when I get a free rental on my storage unit he said that does not affect you any at all he said you won't get a free rental I said we got to tell me over there that if I'm ready to bring it back to him he would give me one he said you don't get it so sadly to say you the guy why I can get a truck brought back to his inventory and I didn't get a rental and I'm going to find a cheaper rental storage place and get my stuff out of U-Haul

Customer service told me one price send when I ask I had to pay a difference price for the storage unit. I had to pay some $40 more a month for you storage unit that was smaller. If I knew your price was that high I would of used the other storage unit I had. Other then that everything was ok.

I called on 6/23 to cancel my units and was told they would talk to the manager and do it. I get an email in July telling me I owe for a month then I just got an email for a survey July 11th. The process to close out your units is awful. This is over 2 weeks later

Yes I just wanted to say that the facilities was very clean and the personal was very informative to me about how the storage unit worked and exactly where my unit was and thatthat I would be able to get to the unit after hours.But I do need to contact them and do a walk through the facility and find out any information that would be very important to me and to the owners to.Thankyou again .

Everything was excellent, the employees, service, prices.. there was a dead mouse that destroyed my mattress topper in storage. Which wasn't a huge deal but it made everything smell really bad. But other than that highly highly recommend! :)

Apparently random but repeated rate increases and, when my card failed, instead of a phone call to a customer who not only paid regularly but was set up to pay automatically, I got slapped with a fine. Treat people like people and you'll get loyal customers. Otherwise people will be glad, like we are, to walk away.

The management was in array, I understand that it is hard to find good people to manage, but U-haul should do a little better finding people to do what they say and to lead by example. I was told I would be pro-rated for the move from one storage unit to another at the same facility. That never happened, and I was basically ignored. I will probably not ever use U-haul again unless it is the last resort.

only one staff member seemed to know what to do. Everyone was asking him questions while he was multitasking between phone calls, helping out customers, and his colleagues. Vontavious O'Neal was very helpful from the first time I walked into the Storage facility, a few months later and again he helped me out. Both visits he was multitasking and helping everyone. If in the future I need Uhaul services I would drive out of my way for his help.

Well I am part of a large business I needed to be billed and it was difficult getting signed up for that as my company requires a W9 filled out and it literally took months to get someone to do it and my storage unit was shut down a few times. I was receiving my invoices from that person also who again was no longer with you. This survey is coming to me from a manager who is no longer with your company, you'd think that would be updated the day the person left. .

Everything about this experience was frustrating. I was asked for a 2nd contact phone number, which I don't have because I only use a cell phone, so I gave my mother's. He then asked for an emergency contact number and had to give my stepmom's phone AND address. After he bumbled through the process, he asked me to pick a code and then said "Really?" after I gave him one. He handed me the paperwork after with no instructions. I had to ask him what my storage number was and where to go. He just pointed and I had to figure it out myself. The code I gave him also didn't work and had to go back to the office to get a temporary one since custom ones "don't work right away." I've stored stuff at other U-Haul locations and loved it... Very helpful staff and convenient equipment like rolling carts. But this place... let's just say I will only be there a month until I find better accommodations.

The U-Haul resevation person did not reserve my storage bin like we discuussed, by me renting a trailer I qualified for one month of free storage. When I got to the drop off center in Clinton, Tn to uinload my trailer, I didn't have a resevation and the person working at the Clinton location informed me that he was not going to give me the sized storage bin that I need for free. The service provider would oly give me the sized storage bin that he thought I needed, which I explained to him was not large enough to accomadate all of my belongings, he told me that he did not care and that it was. To makke a long story short I ended up with a storage bin that is way to small and I've had to find somewhere else to store my things.

After driving 6 hours to get to the storage unit we were VERY displeased with how rude the guy was that helped us. I had reserved a unit but when I got there they said that they didn't have any available.. and only gave me one unit that was a 5x10 when I ordered a 10x10... clearly I needed a 10x10 because of the amount of room needed..But thankfully the owner was able to get everything straighten out for us. JASON IS AWESOME!!! Very thankful for him!

The climate control wasn't worth the extra expense, as temps weren't well monitored-often too hot. My unit leaked during an especially heavy rain. Items mysteriously disappeared out of it & the lock would sometimes be turned backwards from the way I placed it. Since the new office & truck facility was built next door, it seemed that there were no cameras on the actual storage units, & a property next to it could have provided access over the fence due to the difference in ground levels. The price kept going up-most recently after UHaul advertised giving free storage to students (obviously at my expense).
