Frank G | Online Move InThe location was not the preferred location. I checked the reservation at 3:30am on the day of the rental and I was to pick up about 1 mile from my loading location. When I arrived and no 26' truck was on site, I called Uhaul to be told that you had changed my pickup location to one 8 miles away (back toward where I came from) so I backtracked 8 miles then drove another 8 miles to my loading location. Ultimately, I was over 1/2 hour late and lost that time to my loading crew who were waiting for me. Given that I had to pay them for an extra hour ($50) this location change cost me at least $25 plus the extra 8 miles and fuel (about 1 gallon of gas at $2,99 per gallon). So all told, it cost me about $36 more due to your change of location at the last minute. It would have been nice if you'd have sent an email or text to alert me to the change.

From day one when I went into their office to select a U-Haul truck, the receptionists were available, attentive.& efficient. The 2 receptionists worked well together. One attended to me, while the second answered the phone. When I returned the truck in their return zone, I thought I would have to go inside to get an employee. But no, instead a young male U-Haul employee immediately appeared to process the return before I fully parked & got out of the truck. I appreciated that he was on the spot as soon as I arrived to return the truck! He also checked everything & finalized my bill quickly. I was done in less than 5 minutes of returning the truck. The great employees at this U-Haul location made renting fast, simple and easy!

After brief inquiry of my situation she was able to professionally resolve my issue. Had she not taken the concern for what I needed, no telling what type of fiasco would have resulted. Also to add the staff/ associate's were very courteous, pleasant and efficient. You would have to attribute this as well for Ms. Evans. This type of management is a value add to any company, but I sure am truly thankful I received this excellent service. I would recommend this location as well as U-HAUL to friends and family alike. I am proud to share my U-HAUL experience to anyone. Thanks Horace

I was assigned a truck then given a key and pretty much just told to go find the truck. I sent my brother back inside to see where the truck should be and the store associate told him either in the front line or on row B . When went to look for it the truck was nowhere to be found so my brother had to go in a second time and they finally get up off their butt and come outside to help look for the truck. The truck was on the other side of the parking lot nowhere near where the associate said it was. Next I get down to location on oaklawn boulevard in hopewell Virginia and tell them I have a reservation for a 10x20 they tell me they don't have any available. I ask why would they allow someone to book something they don't have. They tell me online doesn't know what they have and the system is in so many words jacked up. They then call to the location close to them and they didn't have any either. He then called Petersburg crater road location and they say they have one so I had to drive all the way to that one (using more mileage) which I'm sure they won't deduct from the pay. After all of this, I doubt I will do business with uhaul again because this was all very unprofessional

walter b | Premières impressionsMy property inside the unit was wet and started to mold as if the storage had flooded at some point also I called and asked to have an extension for my payment and they made a note of it but still took the money out I also feel the cost is beyond reasonable I moved to a storage the same size and pay 46 dollars a month for it also if your payment is late they put a lock on it that day it’s late but you have to wait til they feel like taking there lock off or will give you the key to take there lock off and have you bring it back I do not recommend anyone using this storage facility

I really would recommend them for all your moving and storage needs! It's really nice having a free month of storage when I used the uhaul truck for my one way move. It's a costly thing to do and that expense free of charge really helped! And 1 last thing, the public restroom was a great plus too. Moving is a dirty job. After a hot summer day moving boxes and furniture it was handy and helpful having a restroom facility on premises. It's the small things that matter most. And having a place to go when ya gotta go is spot on. As well as a place to freshen up when your wore down by a hard days work. Thanks again! Jess B

The first to ladies that helped me stated I could keep the same unit but when I went to use my 2nd free month storage on 8/4/2020 the young lady Maria told me I couldn't use my free month on the same unit I had to take all my stuff that was in the storage unit and move to another unit and I could not put it in my name.. I really thought that was stupid to move from one unit to another when I rented the truck 2 times in my name. I had heavy furniture in the unit and I had to move from that unit in order to get the promotion that uhaul supplied to its customers...Maria wasn't helpful at all but everyone one else was....
