The locations were great and people there were just as helpful. UHAUL though did move my rental and told me that due to the inconvenience I would have extra time since it was further from my house. They told me that an extra day would be no problem. When I dropped off, the check-in app was non functioning and the agent there told us it would be done in the am for my receipt. When I got my reciept though there was an extra day. Called Uhaul and they said they couldnt help.....total scam by moving my rental and requiring additional time, then charging me for it.....very unhappy with this.

I have rented from this location several times, they do not disappoint. There is a gentleman who works on the prepping and cleaning of the trucks. He is very personable and efficient. He gets the trucks processed quickly, so they can go out again. I do not know his name, he is just very friendly. It is nice to see employees that are good at their job and customer forward.

The cargo van I rented was very unpleasant, DOG hair was all over the seats, I understand people travel with dogs, But if I had brought the van back with Carpet lint all over the seat I quit show that I would have been changed for it and you guys would not have let it gone out like that to another customer. I just over look it before I pull out.VERY DISAPPOINTED, And on top of everything else I was still changed $12. More for mileage and not even an apology.

1:picked up TD one way rental (2400 miles) lights not working. 2: rental rate was higher than quoted when reservation made, customer service rep wasn't helpful when I asked why rate change?? She just said that was the rate with a kinda take it or leave it attitude. Since I had a 48 hours and need to drive straight back with my driving partner, I just paid the incorrect rate and left. In the last 2 years I've rented 4 trucks 2 locals and 2 one ways across the country. I will never rent from Uhaul again!

Drop off was easy and quick. No issuses with the truck I had rented from Spartanburg SC location drove 230 ish miles. Everyone at the drop off location was kind and explained the process of drop off. Would recommend this location to friends and family. Location was adt to get in and out of and gas station was right down the street which was a plus!!! Fill up before you return!!

Location is clean. Staff is friendly. This location actually had the truck we were "guaranteed" at two other locations. After two hours of driving around and calling Uhaul to fix their errors we got the truck we were "guaranteed" a month prior.

Everyone employed by U-Haul both in TX (where I initiated truck rental to drive to Charleston SC) and at this storage facility always greeted with a smile and courteous interaction throughout every visit I made to this location at Dorchester Rd in Charleston SC. Always kept clean and orderly access to my unit. Always attended my questions in full with a great attitude. Totally recommend y'all!!!

here's the issue. I have reserved a van, didn't have it. I was about to walk out as I wasn't being taking series by the lady at the desk. Once I have asked if they got anything avaiable, she said no while there were so many different vehicle on the lot. Thankfully supervisor got involved and gave me 10 footer. However, the process was slow and she was on her phone scrolling through social media during the entire paperwork phase of this booking.

Revived U-Haul on E. Smh 臘‍♀️ had to pray I was going to make it to the gas station. No one walked me out to the U-Haul. Especially to show me where the gas goes. A lot of missed opportunities! Had a good return because of Tez. Hard working man!

Office staff were very friendly. I reserved an appliance hand truck and they didn't have it when I arrived. -I had to drive 8 miles (16 more miles total round trip) to run to another U-Haul just before they closed to get one (we've all seen the Seinfeld episode about not having a rental car when Jerry reserved one, right?). Trailer was dirty and had bits of broken glass and other dirt. I definitely dropped it off cleaner than when I picked it up. One marker light on the trailer was out. A shout out to the staff at 8222 Dorchester Road U-Haul who had the Appliance hand truck. They were extremely helpful when I got there right before they closed.

I ordered a truck and a car dolly. The car dolly had pieces of metal that were too high for my car's bumper. Instead of letting me just leave the dolly and get a refund for it, the people insisted that I load the car. It ended up messing up the bottom of my car so badly I had to take part of the bumper off. Then once I got to my apartment and loaded the truck, my brother in law noticed that one of the chains on the town dolly was rusted and had broken between the pick up location and my house. We ended up unloading my car and having him drive it all the way across three states as it was unsafe to keep it on the dolly with the possibility of sparks from the chain. I tried to return the dolly, but none of the locations close to me were open as I got the truck and dolly on Saturday and I was moving on Sunday. I had to tow it behind my truck all the way to my destination because I couldn't change my moving date due to work. We tried to secure the broken chain as best as we could to avoid sparks and a fine as it is illegal to drag chains. We had to resecure it every time we stopped for gas or a break because it would come loose no matter what we did. In short, if the employees loading my car had listened to me in the beginning and let me get a refund on the dolly, my car wouldn't be messed up and I wouldn't have had to tow an unsafe dolly for hours.

Tonya is nice and most staff is very helpful. It's impossible to call and get help. They slam you on hold and take forever to come back. Thry have even told me I need to deal with the customer in front of me. The place mice or rats. I had to clean belongs as they had feces on them and urine stains. The access is difficult getting up the ramp and hoping to door locking system worked. I moved because I found a facility that is a lot cheaper. Closer to home. Easy back to door with elevators. Spotless clean and fresh smelling. I got double the size single unit for what I was paying for one of two units I had. I used storage from 2016-2024. Almost exactly 8 yrs. I moved due to cost, difficult accessing and teaching staff by phone. Distance from home.

Relocating, was a devastating issue due to covid..from my truck rental issues: redoectinging 3 times forcing pick up in 3 distant cities only to result in a VERY DIRTY AND TRUCK WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES to storage security: theft of unit, AND REPWEST NOT ADHERING TO INSURANCE POLICY CONTRACT , with valid proof of break in and losses...I was denied compensation dispite a validation to theft of my unit by the store manager. Improper documentation of policy incin addition, dec 2021, iI paid monthly storage and insurance increase change, dispite reflection of payment to uhaul with a request and payment for insurance policy increase...and the policy did not reflect my request after several request to management to confirm. But Addotion was taken from my bank card receiving the price for the increase from 5 000 Coverage to 15,000.00. Also, a contractual 24 hour security and surveillance agreement was also broken. The camera did not effectively monitor or record the premise, nor was a security officer assigned to protect my unit which faced a dark street access and ungated access, A bigger issue is faliurure to properly communicatedid the sale of my unit content...when questioned, Management stated all units auctioned as a clear sale after 90 days if no payment is recieved... my payment was made on Dec 2, 2022 and on Jan 30 2023 I received an email thay my entire contents was sold on the 25th for 65.00... I am more than disappointed as a 2 1/2 year custome. I trust uhaul to safeguard my life possessions and family airlooms. Generally the service is kind and enjoyable.. however to avoid the breech of contract and voiding my account out of the system along with treating me like trash was quite hurtful.. I was so upset I went to the bathroom on myself in the store and now experiencing a depression I have never known. Shame on you as a company

The storage unit itself was great! Clean inside and seemed well built and sturdy. No leaks even during Ian the hurricane- However little bits of insulation was falling on my stuff consistently. The biggest problem I had though was accessing my unit. C12. EVERY time I went to use my unit trucks, pods, moving containers, and shipping bins were blocking the access point. When asking the staff they always seemed extremely putout to help move anything. (Michale B) had the most attitude of all. The worst was yesterday when I was told they "didn't have the keys to those trucks" with no solution. I have even called ahead to let them know I was coming- and nothing was done. After about an hour yesterday, I WAS able to access my unit, however belong made to feel like a problem and not like a paying loyal customer was confusing. I will 100 % continue to use Uhaul trucks for my business, as I do large scale balloon installations- but the storage side of things at this location definitely has so issues to be addressed. Yesterday I had the BEST Customer service from Jena over the phone with customer care. I took photos of the problem, and will happily share them and my experience with Uhaul corporate for reference in hopes this doesn't happen to future tenants.

They need to do better with payment when i made a payment out of one month. I was told the computer had a glitch in the system and my merchandise went up for sale. When I know I paid for the month that I pay for overall I would not recommend it to anyone else just because of that problem.

Sal was very helpful! I had hoped to be there Saturday and have my son help me unload. My son was unable to help me & I am hard headed enough to unload on my own., Sal was patient with me, explained the workings of the location and devices available to move material from the dock to the unit. Ended up needing a second unit just before closing time, and again he was patient, friendly, & helpful. He represented U-Haul very well, I will use U-Haul again for the second phase of our move.

I called U-Haul to secure storage. They told me the location I wanted was not available but the 4788 Dorchester facility had a unit available and booked it for me. When I showed up the next day it took over an hour to get the unit ONCE it was my turn in line. Finally received unit, went to unit and took another half hour for them to figure out that the unit was not available and I would have to go to another place. Wasted well over two hours on a day when I was already running a very tight schedule. The attitude of the gentleman helping me with General Manager on his shirt was one of frustration and total lack of compassion. He didn't know how to work the system and kept blaming me for not telling him that I was looking for the first month free storage. I figured since I had already made the reservation and had my contract with me which was up on the counter the whole time, he would recognize this. Had he asked I certainly would have told him. Also once he verified that there were locks on the locker I was supposed to have he went back to computer, spent a few minutes punching some keys and said, "Yep, I was right. I didn't think we had any storage. That's why I asked if you had a reservation" When he asked if I had a reservation, he didn't know I had one for storage. He asked in general. So if he knew way back then he didn't have storage why didn't he tell me then instead of wasting over an hour of my time. And why didn't he believe me when I said there were locks on the storage. So no, I would not go back to this facility for anything.

There was one guy in the office , he was working his butt off to keep up, 6 people in line waiting for what ever , he did it all , good man !

Mike was amazing. I thought I had lost my phone and he found it in the cab, saved me a lot of time and money. Sarah spent a lot of time while I tried to get proof of home owner's insurance (waiting on the phone with the insurance agency), very helpful and patient. Merci.

Staff is friendly and helpfull. The manager is very helpfull, She assists and advises to get the best solutions for your needs.The storage I reserved from the general website was not available at this location but she provided a good solution for our storage requirement. Top service!

Your late fee policy is inconsistent unforgiving and unclear my due date on the 27th I've been charged a late fee as soon as the morning before 6 am of the 28th. And received numerous phone calls about payment by the 30th. No text message no reminder emails I kept that storage for five years only after I leave then you thank me for my business? An annual thankyou email or something would have gone along way. You have a good product but your customer service needs serious improvement

The staff was outstanding but the service that UHaul offers is terrible. I felt like I was double charged. UHaul charges for the use of dumpsters. This makes it difficult for customers to clean facilities after use. I had a horrible experience with UHaul. The staff was amazing despite they were constantly moving . Everyone was always very pleasant, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile.They deserve their pay checks and more.

Love having to dodge the bins, trucks and other crap you place in front of my unit and on the way there. Thank God I know how to drive. Have you wondered why the buildings and pylons are being hit all the time? Do not block the way of your LOYAL customers from their units. Have sent photos over the years, but, of course, nothing happens...

The storage unit had a bad leak and mess up my mom's deep freezer and I had to throw it away that's the only problem and that deep freezer was just six months old when the time I have put it in there because she had passed away and I didn't want to get rid of it it's damaged but it's okay

The folks working at this location are great. Unfortunately, though, there isn't nearly enough room in the parking lot, so accessing storage units is next to impossible at times.

I rented a 10x10x8 unit where the door and latch didn't match up correctly. The round lock I was forced to buy would not work in the lower latch hole so I had use another lock. When I returned a week later I'm locked out. The staff guy refused to unlock the unit so I could unlock my stuff. We finally had to stop all your customers that were waiting so we could force the staff guy to unlock our unit. If you want more details on this, call me at 843-709-6557.

Kayla is a great general manager and runs a good operation. The housekeepers name is sam and she does a great job at keeping the units and surrounding areas clean and welcoming .

Upon removing boxes from storage, all stored along the cement wall had mold. The boxes on the floor had water damage. We were on the second floor and unsure how they had water damage. Shelving units - the shelves themselves, also had water damage on the bottom and therefore are no longer useful. Given that the price of the units is so much higher than other storage facilities, and our products stored had damage, I would not recommend Uhaul for long term business storage..
