The trailer come off my truck it was hooked up by the employee . It made it all the from Florida to Virginia and messed up my truck and insurance said they are not going to cover the damages to my truck. So no I don't recommend Uhaul anymore. I used them every time I moved with no problems but now that there is faulty equipment now it's my fault .I don't think I will ever use your service again after this!!!!!!

When I picked up the truck the back was dirty an not sweeped out. All I used the truck for was to hold furniture. All you guys want to do is charge people for a cleaning fee an never touch it. Wow

Secondly don't try to use the app to return the vehicle or you may spend a hour trying to get it to accept your pictures during the rental return process. Thirdly why isn't there a military discount or senior citizen discount, I mean something anything? But overall the best part of the experience was the courtesy from the employee at the physical location who created my reservation. And last of all the fuel economy was atrocious it took me 6 gallons of gas to go 30 miles which equals out to 5 miles per gallon.

Cherlyn M.It was an awful experience and because I was rented a 10 ft Truck WITHOUT a ramp and not told, it took me two weeks to move as I had to move up some steps and it was very hard and inconvenient. I was called repeatedly even though I explained what was taking so long as my Husband passed last year and was having to move by myself with an injured back and neck. Not having a ramp made our move almost impossible. I had started a new job at the hospital working back to back 12 hour shifts and so it took forever to do by myself with no ramp. The driver's side door didn't close or lock except from inside so couldn't leave anything if value in there when I stopped without having to enter on passenger side door and climb across to unlock driver's side door. The truck smelled and had some kind of bugs like gnats or fleas that got into our new home. (I have pics and videos). It was all just an awful experience and also even though I communicated with the store on Normandy and tried to extend rental online, they still called me daily, often multiple times to harass me and act as if I was stealing the truck. They even accused me of that and also threatened to come take the truck (with our stuff in it). I was told there would be no charges until I returned it. I needed to move money over for charges to go through but instead of telling me that they called me threatening me, leaving me Sooo upset and while I was on a 12 hour shift and moving afterwards through the night getting little sleep. Also, I put my Mother In Law's credit card on it and it was MANUALLY charged over $900 without our permission. I was told it wouldn't be charged until we returned. Once again, being treated like a thief. I put over $80 in gas in it. I have receipt. I will never use Uhaul again!!!

Carla H.I made original reservations online for a specific truck and location. The day following, I was contacted by phone and told I had to use a different location because the truck I ordered was not actually available at the location I selected. The we were to pick up the truck, I "pre-registered" online as I had been instructed by email to do. When we arrived on location to pick up, we were treated rudely. When we found employees on the property, they were unwilling to even acknowledge our presence. Finally we found a young man sitting behind a counter. He also did not acknowledge us for several seconds though standing right in front of him. He just stared at us. Even though I had registered online, TWICE, we had to go through everything again with him. He told us that the truck we ordered, a 20 ft., was not available. He offered a 26 ft. truck and told us "Take it or leave it". Every comment from this guy was rude or sassy. Our check in process went very much the same only this guy hardly spoke. He gave no instructions and made it clear that we were interfering with his day. There is nothing I can imagine that would entice me to return to this location for any reason.

Please note the Normandy location had nothing to do with this review, but you give me no other option. My original reservation was for Blanding Blvd. Because I wasn't there on time my truck was given away. There was no call, text, cancellation notice. Nothing. I had 4 boys waiting to help me move and my truck wasn't there. I've reserved Uhaul like 25 times in my life, never been there exactly when I say I will cuz I'm in the middle of moving, and I've never once had my truck given away without even a notification. I was told by many people to go with Penske this time but I didn't because I'm used to always using Uhaul. That may change.
Paul W.Overall experience was horrible. I gassed the truck up and it won't start due to a dead battery. We were going from NC to. FL. We called Uhaul roadside assistance and after a few hours someone showed up, however; he did not have replacement battery on the truck. He used a jump box to get the truck started and said not to turn the truck off. This breakdown caused us to leave almost four hours later than we were supposed to resulting in us driving at night and getting home at 5am. Good thing I did not turn the truck off because once parked at my house it would not start back up. Luckily I own the same jump box that roadside assistance used, so the next day I was able to get it started and drive it to the mini storage I was to unload at, but again I had to keep the truck running the whole time while being unloaded since I had to return it. I go to return it and kept it running and let the Uhaul representatives know about the issue. I asked about any kind of compensation or credit due to the poor equipment rental and was told to call Uhaul then was charged over $100 since it was being returned after the three day period. I understand things happen, however; I feel before giving a vehicle to a customer I would think it is inspected including a battery check to ensure it is not at the end of its life as well as the alternator to ensure it is putting out enough charge to to charge the battery. You would think the alternator would have had enough time to charge the battery being driven from NC to FL never turning off the engine but apparently that was not the case since the second I turned off the truck in FL it would not start or even turn over, the battery was dead. The second is Roadside assistance, the representative was extremely nice, however; he did not have a spare battery and told me the alternators are checked every 1000 miles so it should charge through the journey. My thing is if someone calls broke down with a battery issue which was made known on the initial call you would think Uhaul would send someone with a spare battery. Again not a good experience and I feel the representatives where I dropped off the truck in Florida should be empowered to make it right rather than having to call Uhaul to make it right. I had driven all night then turn around and unloaded all day due to the issue so I feel after such a poor experience customers should not have to jump through another hoop for Uhaul to make it right I feel after what happened the responsibility falls on Uhaul but I will be calling since there was nothing the Uhaul reps in Florida could do.

Same and next day delivery is not available, you must schedule in advance at least 3 days before. They said they didn't have drivers and the sooner they can deliver it was 7 days. I asked to rent a pick-up truck to pull out the U-box they didn't have one till 4 days. I ended up picking up the U-box with a neighbor's truck. Good thing was the trailer to carrie the U-box was free.

So your body is really working, so when it hits you that you need to relieve yourself, it is a very thankful moment to know there is a lavatory at a storage facility.

Ronda M.Communications from corporate customer service to the actual U-Haul store delivery location was horrible. Date of U-box pick up was not communicated to local store staff. Hence, my boxes were not ready for pickup when I got to store. Since the local store for U-box consolidation was an excessive distance from new home, made arrangements for U-haul next day delivery. Boxes were not delivered because the driver called in sick and their were no other drivers. Phone system is useless. When calling into local store, if not answered, it rolls to corporate customer service. Corporate customer service can not answer local questions so they roll it to another corporate service number and pretty soon, you've been on the phone for an hour and no one can answer your questions or address your concerns. Ultimately, had to drive back to local store, where multiple customers (like me) were complaining about U-box availability, customer service communications, and phone system problems. The personnel were all very nice and polite, but not very competent and their default answer was "It's not in the system". Poor staffing coverage. One person inside to address customers, who obviously was the new employee, and multiple personnel out on lot doing nothing. Insufficient forklift qualified personnel to address weekend traffic volume. The load and initial access to U-boxes was great. The across country transit of U-boxes was great. The receipt and delivery of the U-boxes at new location was horrible.

Roleta P. | Expérience généraleThing's are not ran properly in regards to communication. I lost only one thing in my unit. It was an antique dresser that had been in my family for generations. I had the mirror that goes on top and all of the drawers. Due to my health and other factors it remained the only item left. I was late at first and physically went into the office to explain my situation and that I was not able to pay the amount due at the time. I also told the young lady that all that was left was a single dresser and just how important it was to me. She stated she would have (I believe her name was Ashley) contact me to see what could be done. It wasn't until a week or more later that I got a phone call giving me an outrageous amount due that I could then (after payment) come and access my unit for the item. I called back to seek alternative methods but was unsuccessful in getting yet another return call. I've since had MULTIPLE emails from various individuals stating my balance due was even higher and my unit was up for auction back in July. Then up for auction in August, September, October, November and lastly December. I understood it to have been gone back in July then again in August. I then took the piece's I did have in my possession and disposed of them with a heavy heart. Then more calls and emails followed stating I could still access the unit if I was to pay an even higher amount. I have saved every email, every voicemail. It got ridiculous! I was heartbroken and the damage was done as I no longer had the pieces to make the dresser complete again. The GM at this location SUCKS! All he does is micromanage this lovely location and I believe has no clue as to what is really going on and just allows other employees to handle the logistics of the location without really keeping himself involved. He seems to only send out prefilled document's/notices that has his name attached with no real clue of the situation. I've used U-Haul for year's! For all of my moving and storage needs. I'm now 51 yrs old and this location has definitely screwed up my image of U-Haul. I will NOT PAY whatever the amount that is said I owe, so sending emails and letters and calling is a waste of time. Your lack of professionalism has caused me much grief and I have lost something that is irreplaceable!
