I want to bring to your attention a serious issue I encountered at the U-Haul location on Como Ave in Minneapolis. I secured a storage unit in August 2024 with the intention of staying for just one month, which unexpectedly extended to three months. Initially, I did not purchase insurance due to insufficient funds on my card, but I secured coverage in September. Recently, when I went to retrieve my TV from my unit, I was appalled to discover dirt or clay covering my belongings, along with significant mouse droppings that were smelly and damp. Upon investigation, I found that mice had chewed through my bags, resulting in damage to at least half of my items. The storage unit next to mine had a visible issue with their ceiling, suggesting that this problem was likely exacerbated by their situation. I spoke with the manager who directed me to contact Dan, who informed me I could remove my items only after Thanksgiving. I emphasized my need for another unit since the insurance required that I only keep undamaged items. Unfortunately, Carl, who was my point of contact, never returned my calls and is now no longer employed at your facility. Despite the ongoing issues and my need for a different unit, my card was charged for December, and I've received no solution or communication regarding my situation. I find it unacceptable that I am still left with bags in my car that should have been safely stored away. Therefore, I demand a refund for my December payment, as this situation is unfair. Just get the sensors for the bay doors fixed. It is very inconvenient to get out of the car to have someone open the door, especially during the winter. Overall, the place is great. It is always clean and staff is always friendly and helpful.

I think my expected experience was different from reality. I thought the truck would be full of gas-it wasn't. I thought equipment would be in the truck-it wasn't. Perhaps I just didn't know what to expect, but it certainly added to the stress of moving.

Worker told me that truck had just been returned. Had a little more than 1/8 tank of gas. Drove truck to house where I loaded it up, battery was dead. Called roadside assistance, guy told me he would let me know when help was scheduled and an ETA. Didn't hear from him for f30 minutes, so had a friend come and jump the truck. Evidently roadside assistance showed up after I had left the house, but was never told he was scheduled or when he would arrive... This is of course not the fault of the pick-up location, but maybe check the truck for operability prior to renting it out. The truck had 172,000+ miles on it.

Five other times I have rented a Penske truck for moving. This time I tried the UHaul containers and I will NEVER GO BACK to renting and driving a truck again. I received friendly and reliable service, plenty of contact and updates and.... even though I wasn't able to get my containers delivered on the day I preferred the representative worked with me to get the containers as soon after my selected date as possible. AND in fact, the delay was in my favor. I couldn't be more satisfied.

The staff at the facility were friendly, courteous and helpful. The vehicle we rented was a little dirty - dried muddy footprints in the cab and in the cargo area. Also, there was an error message on the display about the tire pressure monitoring system needing service. We were assured that the tires were fine and we had no problems, but I would have preferred a different vehicle.

Guy didn’t want to rent to me because he didn’t know New Mexico is part of the USA and after that no one even came out to check the trailer or assist or even inspect my vehicle I ended up finding and hooking up myself needs better employees

Pro's Gentleman who checked us in and handled getting our paperwork and assigned us our truck. Very good. He didn't explain after hours returns however. Con's Brakes were so weak they wouldn't have stopped the truck in an emergency. After hours process was confusing and demanded I join the u haul app. Instructions not clear, multiple people milling around wondering how to turn their vehicle in on a freezing night. No one explained the process upfront.

1. My initial reservation was not processed because my credit card zip code was declined. Nobody from Uhaul notified me. So my reservation never became an order even after I thought I had paid upfront. As a result packers not notified of my order. As moving day approached, I made multiple calls to packer to confirm they were coming on the date I requested. Nice people but they said they first needed Uhaul order. I then called Uhaul where I found out about the credit card decline. The packers I selected were now booked and I scrambled to find a different packer which I did. They did a good job packing. 2. I got an email from Uhaul: your U boxes are reserved for the date you requested. Not quite. Only 2 boxes available later in the morning of the move. Packer made second trip to get additional Ubox. This Ubox was all beat up and had a lock clasp hanging from plywood. I had to reattach. This box needs to be retired. So I question if that box will be secure while in storage.. 3. Originally I requested 4 Uboxes. I reduced order to 3 which were picked up. My monthly storage fee was for 4 Uboxes not the 3 delivered. That resulted in my having to call Uhaul again to get the billing correct. I felt like it was my job to keep your process moving. 4. I assume goods arrived safely in storage but I won't know until I take them out of storage in the future.

Weekend staffing was very low - very often had to wait in a long line to talk to somebody in the office. Sometimes access to the storage loading bays was limited or blocked completely - at one point, there was a vehicle parked without moving for nearly 24 hours. This was frustrating.

They didn't have the trailer I had selected. I was given no prior notice of this. They "up-sold" me a larger unit. When I went to have the trailer hitched, the original unit that I ordered was sitting right there. The pickup period - even though I had performed all of the detail online was repetitive and time consuming. I do have to give kudos to the person who helped when I returned the unit.

The only real problem was at the Denver drop-off facility. Careful Carriers was scheduled to do three west of Denver drop-offs on Oct 30 (in Dillon, Avon and Edwards. The last two are about 45 minutes from Dillon, but are only four miles apart. CC had told the Denver staff to put the Avon and Edwards delivery together, since they can only tow two U-Boxes at a time. Instead, Dillon and Avon were put together which added to the delivery time and prevented the driver from getting back to Denver before the facility closed at 6:30 pm. That rolled the delivery over to the next day which created scheduling problems with the people we had hired to help us unpack the items in the U-Box after delivery.

It was unclear where to park

My reservation was not made for the right place, or size of unit, or time needed. Later making the reservation weeks ago, and confirming it twice with customer service, I show up to the storage facility after loading a 26 ft truck and driving 10 hours and they had no record of my reservation.

This actually should've not have been my return location, after making a reservation weeks ago and confirming it twice with customer service when I showed up to the Blaine location where I had my reservation, they had no record of it. Now, instead of having all of my items in two storage units in Blaine, Minnesota, where I made the reservations and now have my storage units 30 minutes apart in three different storage units. This is definitely not what I had planned for.

Online booking: great. Check out of vans: great. Everything else that you do: very iffy. Example: I called St. Paul two days in advance to let them know I'd be coming by to empty out my Ubox. When I arrived, they couldn't find me in the computer (for 20 minutes), and then not only was my box not ready for me, they found it was buried in the stacks behind SIX other boxes which took about 30 minutes to sort out. On top of the SEVEN confirmation phone calls I received, being charged for "storage" starting on the day of pickup instead of the day you actually started storing it (then charging me for another month of storage after only two days of use), and the general lack of interest in ANY of this by your staff, I think I'll just set my stuff on fire next time instead of using UHaul.

Horrible experience with your employee G. Lovelle 10/30/24 around 3pm. Second day I rented a truck at this location. He was rude, condescending, homophobic, and very unprofessional. Never had an experience like this in my life! I have contacted corporate about this situation. I also have it on video. He definitely should not be dealing with the public! Awful experience!!! Your other employee I believe name C. Roderick witnessed it and was very helpful and apologetic dropping of the truck after the incident.

Person behind the counter had a weird vibe. Asked me to use street parking even though there was plenty of parking availble in the lot. Gave me equipment that smelled like it last transported a dead body. When I returned and parked in the same spot I picked up from and went in to return the keys, I was asked to go back and move the vehicle to another location. Also insisted I do mobile check in on my phone while standing there at the counter even though my reservation was for counter check in. Just all around felt like he was doing everything possible to make my experience inconvenient and probably would have refused me service if it were up to him. Usually have a good experience, not this time though.

I needed to move items from my UBoxes into a new storage unit. The workers refused to put the boxes anywhere near a door for easy access to the storage units. Claiming that supervisors were around and ignored us the rest of the time.

You have to make it clear that this location does not accept out of state driver's licenses for renting 9 foot cargo vans. This was not made clear during the booking process at all.

I showed up on time for my 9 am rental appointment. The checkout attendant did not acknowledge me and was surly and completely disinterested throughout the transaction. After arriving at the trailer yard - no one was present to assist me. I went inside to see 2 employees huddled around a computer watching something on the screen. One of the employees acknowledged me. I let him know that I was awaiting assistance, and he told me that someone would be with me in 5 to 7 minutes (???). I waited 10" for someone to assist me with trailer connection. Indifferent and demoralizing service. This used to be my "go to" U-Haul location, but I will NOT be coming back.

Make sure it is easy to find the vehicle you have rented. Park the same type of vehicles together AND make sure the vehicle that is rented is NOT blocked in by other vehicles on the lot. Also make reservation times easier to adjust. I requested a vehicle for 10 am but was not able to check it out until 10:30 am- the rental time should begin when the vehicle is actually picked up. Make the app more flexibility. I was given a vehicle that was blocked in by another truck. One of the reps suggested they give me another truck. I never received a text for the new truck issued rather an email was sent. When I kept going to the app to see if the update was there for the new truck it was not so I checked in with the truck that was give. And forced the new truck info in. I am STILL not sure if that info was recorded correctly. The app would not take the new truck info until I forced it though. The system should recognize when the new license plate number is entered that it is a different truck and allow the user to change as needed or even ask is this a different truck. Nd ask for the truck's call letters and allow you to manually change it.

When I went to pick up the truck, the workers didn't know how U-Box works. They just gave me a U-Box without a trailer, which caused a lot of trouble later. After I got the truck, I drove to the U-Box place. I had to wait outside for 30 minutes because no one was there. The whole thing was a mess. Only one worker knew what to do, and the others didn't help at all. They actually made everything harder.

We purchased a lock from UHaul.com before our truck reservation because according to the product description it "fits all U-Haul trucks." It did not fit our UHaul truck, and the rep would not accept a return because the item had been opened.

Get more help at the front counter. I waited in line for 45 minutes to check out a trailer. At one point there were no attendants at the front counter. One guy was trying to manage it all while a long line had formed. Then he went outside to fill a propane tank and disappeared for 15 minutes.

In general, a good experience. However, when I brought back the truck AFTER getting the recommended amount of gas for miles driven during the rental, the employee who checked me in was argumentative about the mileage and amount of gas (even though he wouldn't look at my offered receipt) then proceeded to treat me rudely, condescendingly, and dismissively - he was GOING TO CHARGE ME for more gas!! And informed me that he wasn't even supposed to "still be there," etc. He was a jerk and that was not how to treat a customer (or anyone!).

Create a line that is clearly designated for online check in. I chose this option so that I would not have to wait in line, as I have been here many times and have had to wait in line every single time, and then when I got there, there was no sign indicating where I could go up with my mobile check in code so I almost waited in line for 15 minutes behind a bunch of people making the whole process useless.

This location has the worst customer service. The guy I was on the phone with refuse to give me his name and also was not trying to listen to my concerns at all. I asked him to let me talk to a supervisor and he hung up the phone on me. I will not recommend for anyone to go to this location for any services.

Improve the signage for drop-off area; not clear on where to go when driving on Como Ave. I saw a lot of U-Haul trucks, took a guess, and turned in there; could have been stored trucks I saw and not returned trucks but I got lucky.

Employee's were kind and helpful and knowledgeable with the answers to all my questions and concerns I had, despite the not so great day he was having himself. When we arrived were unable to get the garage door to open when backing our until trailer to the door. Thankfully we are skilled with moving a trailer around quickly as we had to use the front end of the truck to alert the sensor to open then I had to stand in the doorway keeping the garage from closing by standing in front of the sensor while my husband backed in. It was quite frustrating and when we left we struggled to find how to get out! It took another customer's help to show us where the garage door button was to leave. More signs would be helpful. More signs with less long winded wording would be great too. It was way too much information to take in to figure out what steps we needed to do. I do appreciate how thorough the signs were so I'm not saying get rid of those but maybe a sign saying garage door button here with simple wording. The facility itself is great and felt secure and clean.

The customer service at this location is top notch and they went above and beyond accommodating my dock height truck for loading into their storage which made all the difference in a quick and easy move in. I definitely would say that Ethan has some quality customer service skills and handled my whole move in process fast and easily. Somebody call the police because this guy's killing it.

While the registration for this site was easy online and I got into my space and unloaded my belongings, access to the storage space was not always accessible without having to walk and carry belongings because the pull in spaces were filled. At least three attempts to get access to storage space, I turned around and left. Even on the day to pick up my last belongings, when I arrived all the pull in spaces were full. After first parking, someone pulled out but after I got pulled in, I only ever saw one storage space where a person was sorting belongings - all the while blocking access to others to pull in, and all the other pull in slots were filled with cars as well. For this I have moved storage to another site, where it is pull in and drive thru and I have always had access. Even if the pull in is full of cars ever, access to the elevator is close to my space and the space is twice as large for less money. And more accessible on a route I take several times a week. I am thankful the use of the storage space and have always been happy with UHual but accessibility is important to me. Thank you. While I am required to say yes to office hours and friendly staff, I did not interact with the office or staff during my rental. Rental was handled online only.

My brother died. Some stoked his tools and other items. I know who this was. I submitted a police report. I spoke the GM after I contacted the police and he was waiting for it. That was in Oct 2023. Today, no one has returned a call to the police and their request for surveillance video information. This is horrible. I've spoke to a total of 3 people. Over $1300 of items was stolen from my deceased brother & your company who is suppose to offer secure place has done nothing. Very sad situation

I only had one issue. I wanted to get at my unit on a week day after 7 pm, however I couldn't get access, and the office was closed. Access for the unit was supposed to be until 10pm that day. Other than that one issue, I was very pleased with staff and the availability.

Seriously the staff here are AMAZING! So helpful, going above and beyond and all with a smile. Shout out to Rodrick and Caleb and the countless others who over the course of a month of moving in and out of storage and renting trucks made the process way less stressful than it could have been. It should also be mentioned that I witnessed some really patient and graceful customer service, stressed customers walked out informed and calm knowing their options. Major props all around. Merci.

After a relocation move to Saint Paul, I had excess stuff that needed to go somewhere and this facility was convenient and had a good price. That was about 18 months ago and I made one downsize during that time to the unit that I was just able to close, because I finally was able to find a home for everything. But they were great during the entire time when I would visit, when I made the change in unit size, and when I did the termination. The online access and service there was also good during the entire experience.

For someone who has never gotten a storage space before it was very confusing and I was not sure how things work. We ordered a 10x20 unit and was given 2 10×5 units at the back of the facility. I saw numerous units the size we ordered without a lock on them closer to the loading dock. I hired movers that you recommended who were great despite the circumstances but I ended up paying them an extra hour for a half hours of work which would have not been needed if we got what we ordered. I was told that Uhaul provides locks but only one u it had one available. Luckily I brought one of my own.

Cards weren't working so it was a little stressful. I don't have a card still bc staff weren't able to get them working. Staff were really helpful and tried their best. However the tech issues were frustrating and inconvenient for me and have made me anxious.

Most of U-haul storage facility has climate control. This is very nice for storing stuff and at timess convenient. Not only that, but they also have security alert, which is also good.

On Friday, March 29, 2024 I went to the U-Haul Storage to pick up a U-Haul Truck to move out of the Storage Space I had been renting. We returned the U-Haul Truck about 9:00 pm instead of 8:00 pm their closing at 8:00 pm and was told to drop the keys and two cards into the drop box. Earlier when I talked with one of the store workers I noticed he wasn't as friendly as the other person who had giving me the Storage Space back in May, 25, 2023! Today, Tuesday, 4-2-24 my storage release date was e-mailed to me.

My storage unit had a massive Mice infestation, I cannot believe how badly I have felt about this. My bed was destroyed, and my love seat, they had to be thrown out. I am still going through my boxes and cleaning mouse turds, chewed boxes and urine on many objects. I have been overwhelmed and traumatized.

Hello, I have been trying to reach manager- Paige Williams at this location for a couple weeks since I vacated the unit, and left a few messages with staff for her to follow up. I had a medical issue come up the day the unit was vacated, and was not able to discuss insurance claims with her as planned. There was a serious rodent infestation issue in my unit creating a lot of damages, additional costs and issues. I was surprisingly still charged for the month, regardless of this disgusting and unacceptable rodent infestation. Please contact me at the email listed on my account as soon as possible, regarding insurance claims/damage procedures. Merci.

My belongings 5 BOXED CLOTHES were emptied STOLEN and My CLEAN BEDSHEETS and PILLOWS was USED SHARED. My New furniture I brought in was SWITCHED with a VERY DIRTY HOMELESS ONE. My NEW cooking UTENSILS and PLATES were STOLEN and SWITCHED with theirs. EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF TRASH WAS DUMPED IN MY STORAGE UNIT. AND POURED WHITE SUBSTANCE POWDER ALL OVER MY BELONGINGS. UPON MOVING MY BELONGINGS I COLLECTED 5 TO 6 SACKS OF U-HAUL TRASH BAGS FROM MY UNIT. MY BED FRAMES WAS USED AND DAMAGED. SOMEONE BIGGER THAN ME WORE MY CLOTHES AND DUMPED THEM DAMAGED. I ALSO PURCHASED INSURANCE TO COVER MY BELONGINGS BUT IT WAS REMOVED FROM MY FILE. THE STAFF I SUSPECT DID THE THEFT. AND WHEN ASKED TO REVIEW THE CAMERAS WHO ENTERED MY UNIT THE MANAGER ETHAN REFUSED MANY TIMES. I NEVER INTEND TO EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN. ALSO MY DEBIT CARD IN THEIR POSSESSION WAS UNLAWFULLY CHARGED. THE STAFF AND THEIR FAMILIES DID THE STEALING OF MY BELONGING. I AM ASKING FOR THE MAXIMUM INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR MY STOLEN AND DAMAGED ITEMS.

The limited hours are upsetting for someone trying to move and suddenly locked out from their own unit. Most other storage factors allow 24/7 access. Also there are supposed to be 18 carts for moving and only 2 mattress carts were available, 0 flat beds.

Not happy that there is no refund of unused storage or credit from unused storage when changing units. This has happened to me twice and I should have received a discount of several weeks. Whoever the thief is responsible for this policy should be prosecuted.

Storage was fine. The thing that totally sucked was that they cancelled our truck due to us not picking it up. Yes we thought that scheduling a truck meant that you had it no matter what. We were 3 hours in before we were able to get there. Truck was given away. Staff said they contacted us but we received no text or call or email as far as we could search. I'm going to call that a CYA lie. Too bad, so sad was my impression. Made me feel stupid which is I guess is the customer experience they were going for.

The staff there were I returned the truck and got a unit were exceptional. It was extremely busy but they orchestrated the traffic in the bay and returning trucks like a well oiled machine! J'ai été très impressionné. All the customers were happy because everyone was courtesy and helpful to one another. You rarely see that. I would've thought that people would have been impatient, cutting in front of one another in the bay, parking lot or returning or renting trucks but that wasn't the case at all, the exact opposite 樂 I believe that was due to the outstanding reliance and calm of the staff. The knew the answers to any questions and any problems you had they were quick to resolve it. They went above and beyond.

Not a great site, folks. Bathroom: no trash cans. Very unfriendly staff. 24 hour access would've been nice. If only the people that worked there were cool and having fun - they're not. They've been so unfriendly. I guess it's the big "twin cities" thing. It's sad, and you are obviously not doing something right there. Air circulation: not good - - big dust on things stored in the A/C portion. Overall, a below average / poor experience.
