First off, U-haul changed my pickup time and location at the last second, the night before my move. I was set up for a 9am at University and it was changed to 10:30am at como which was further away, I tried calling to see what was going on and there was a 35 minute wait. This location didn't have any utility Dolly's left either and got an appliance dolly for the same price but wasn't able to use it during my move. This location didn't seem ready to go either. I left 20 minutes late due to waiting for the truck/ dolly to be ready. Next time it would be great to have been asked if changing times and locations is okay with the customer before just doing it and making a huge inconvenience.Alex G.

The staff seemed rushed and overworked, sometimes making them irritable when interacting. Hold times when I needed to call the facilities where my U box was always exceeded 30 minutes. When picking up, the app would continuously refuse to o accept an alternate contact phone number. When dropping off, the app would not save the photos taken for the odometer and fuel readings. On my most recent experience, the overall experience for pick-up was quite terrible. We did order a 20' truck and when none were available, we were given a 26' prior to our rental date, for free. We were greeted upon entry by a welcoming and kind gentleman. When realizing we had signed up for 24/7 pick up and went to the lock box at back of building, the experience started to turn. We tried the app for 30 minutes with no luck to gain access to anything. As we tried everything, we eventually entered the store and expressed our issues. The kind gentleman from earlier looked up our information and had a lock code that we tried, this code was incorrect. Thankfully he remembered what it previously was and we were able to gain access. On our way out of the store, we look in the lockbox and there is nothing. Re-entering the store, we are now ~40 minutes in to this process. We tell the gentleman that there was no key, he looks on the back wall and the key is still within the store. We were very thankful that we did not try to come before/after hours for the 24/7 service as we would not have had any access. When he mentioned the uhaul was in the back lot, we searched about 4 vehicles before we started driving through the whole lot. Upon driving through the back alley, we found the uhaul that was our rental and it had not been broom cleaned from previous use. We had also rented a dolly and did not have that in the uhaul. We would recommend this location based upon past experience and the quick solution. However, we will express concern for this process to anyone we would suggest.Logan H.

I had the unfortunate experience of finding out a week or so before I was supposed to receive my Ubox that because of 4th of July â€" a holiday that's always on the calendar and was known well in advance â€" that rather than dropping off/picking up on 7/2 and delivering on 7/23, it would be dropped off on 7/6, picked up on 7/7, and delivered on 7/27. I opted to fill my Ubox myself at the facility on 7/2 instead after having been told that it mean it would arrive on the desired 7/23 date. I did that and the arrival date remained 7/27. I went four days with no belongings in a new state because of this mistake. On at least two occasions after speaking with multiple people, I requested a discount for this inconvenience and was ignored or directed to another person. The in-person service at the facility was substantially more helpful than the regional scheduling office in Blaine, MN over the phone, but even so I believe that I should receive a discount for going without any of my belongings for four days when I made my reservation a month and a half or more in advance. The regional scheduling office and the employee who delivered my Ubox at the destination in Austin, TX were also more helpful and luckily everything got to me safely.Joseph R.

If you want a really stoned salesman to give you constant attitude while renting a vehicle and storage locker only to kick you out of the store for asking why he's being that way this is the place to go. Vehicle smelled like marijuana too. Don't ask them to check in your vehicle, its 20 $to do so and is only mentioned in the fine print of the contract. I would advise renting from Public Storage up the street, which is what their staff told me to do. Poor service over all to put it lightly.JEREMY O.

Sidewall of trailer tire had severe damage and was not roadworthy. No replacement was available. Was told would get a call from regional traffic. 4 hours later still had not received a call so had to call customer service who routed me to regionale traffic where they said they had no record of a followup call needed. The 10-ft trucks are more modern and well maintained (liked the rear camera for backing up). The mobile reservation could be streamlined; at this location you have to walk a looong city block to confirm the truck is in the parking lot and then walk to get the key from the check-out building and then WALK BACK to the truck to leave. I realize one benefit of the mobile reservation is reserving a truck in advance, but that's the only benefit. Plus, the app tells you to walk to the front of the line and tell the desk attendant that you need a key for your mobile reservation ... good luck with that; there are usually people who have been waiting in line for a while and the last thing they want is for you to prance up front and cut them in line for your key. Mobile reservation is a good idea but flawed process. If you have a mobile reservation at least have the truck ready up front to minimize that back and forth.Randy B.

This was by far one of the best U-Haul experiences for me. I use Uhaul multiple times a month for my work as a realtor and stager. The employees were exceptional! My only suggestion would be an easier way to do express checkout. Although the line moved fairly quick, and the truck was brought to the front of the building for me; I really like to grab and go when possible. I will be recommending this Uhaul location to my clients!Traci C.

The staff does and did a great job at this location. I had to return the truck after closing and the Ap was hard to understand and it didn't allow me to navigate the return, so I had to pay a 20 $return fee with no fault of mine or the Uhaul staff.STEPHEN J.
Overall good experience - relatively easy in and out. We tried to do the mobile check in. It said to click 'Pick Up Truck' or someting like that in the Dashboard, but neither of us could find it. We ended up just going inside and that was just fine. They were helpful and at least the pre-registration was done. The tank was only 3/4 full. We went less than 20 miles so it's a little hard to fill up only a tiny amount back to 3/4 full.Colin P.

Don't talk to customers like we work for U-Haul or like we're stupid. It's not that big of a deal but it was weird interacting with the condescending manager. He was short with me and it seemed like he almost wanted me to feel disoriented as he rushed me through the steps of renting the truck. I guess maybe it sucks being a U-haul employee or something but please don't take that out on me. On that note, U-haul should treat their workers better so that they don't wind up behaving resentfully toward the customers. The experience was just awkward and involved a lot of biting my tongue while the manager spoke to me like I'm a fool, which I'm not. He even gave me shit for not seeing the signage directing people where to return their truck. Like, if the signage were put up in an effective way then I would have seen it. I guess he thought I was stupid or he wanted me to feel stupid for not seeing the signage but ultimately he behaved the fool with his lame attitude toward me. But yeah, my guess is that this guy's boss is probably an even bigger dope and that u-haul is probably run by assholes who make the bottom rung workers miserable and frustrated, which then results in negative interactions like what I experienced. So my final thought is that u-haul should raise wages and improve working conditions. Stop abusing your employees.eric E.

This store on como ave in Minneapolis/St. Paul area is advertised as a 24 hr storage unit, so I got there at around 7pm right as the office was closing down for the day, yet I managed to get service and I got to rent a unit for my stuff. However as I was wrapping up my move, I still had just a couple of things to bring when all of a sudden the door locked on me and couldn't come in anymore having to leave a lot of my stuff unattended all thru the night and Im glad nothing got stole, but I feel like this happened because any of the ppl that worked there did not tell me anything about it. That is not even the whole problem. There is a phone number on multiple signs that say to call the gm for after hours service, but the phone would go straight to voicemail making this situation a lot more frustrating and unnecessary that it needed to be. I even called costumer service for help and they couldn't even reach this guy and or couldn't help me at all. I wasted over 3 hours dealing with this that day and at the end I just gave up and left only to come back in the morning just to secure the unit I just rented. You guys need to be more clear about you overnight policy or at least tell your customers about it. That didn't have to be as frustrating and difficult like it was that night/morning. Overall the experience went fine. However, I did have a "hickup" that really should be addressed. When I rented the truck and took advantage of the storage unit deal, I asked specifically about 24 hour access. I knew that I would be moving late into the night so this was important. I was told I had 24 hour access. This was not the case. At 10pm the dock sliding doors locked me out. Here I was with a partially loaded truck, carts in the passage near my storage and my storage door open with no access. I pushed the After-Hours intercom button, no answer. I called the After-Hours number for Matt Underwood, no answer and directed right to automated voicemail. I then called the customer service number, obviously no answer there. I then called the alarm company who was able to give me the number to someone else, This person did answer and was able to grant me access. He did explain however that 24-hour access is a PAID service the I did not have. This is something that should have been explained by the counter rep who checked my out. I don't have to explain the stress and concern this experience caused me Since obviously I couldn't simply leave. Loading dock area very well laid out. Office for registration/ checkin OK, but there should be a separate checkin and waiting area for storage versus vehicle rental customers...and a posted outline of checkin for BOTH types of customsrs.Current construction makes finding anything difficult so you need to compensate by posting in big print process for each customer type. ALSO EACH STORAGE CUSTOMER MUST RECEIVE A LARGE PRINT.COPY OF THE LEASE BEFORE BEING ASKED TO SIGN IT. LAST COMMENT ....hire a Minnesota lawyer to look at your Lease. Excellent security measures and the long access hours is a nice perk. Hallways and loading areas are clean but pest control is lacking. Although the rodent bait traps are present in each unit, I still found a considerable amount of mice droppings inside my unit. Having the normal entrance blocked off by construction makes it difficult to access, which isn't really an issue but it would have been nice to have an announcement sent out with instructions for alternate route access or at least better signs directing people where to go. I wasn't able to reach the office by phone so I had to drive all the way there to get answers. Matt has always been helpful and friendly but it's iffy otherwise. It gets the job done but it's not worth the high price of the unit especially compared to the other options in the area.Melissa B. | Expérience générale

I have had the need to utilize U-haul twice in the last month. First was for a van rental in Fargo, ND to move a small apartment. The second was for a truck rental for another small move plus a storage unit in St. Paul. I must say, I was blown away both times by the customer service and the technology of checking out and returning the vehicles. In regards to storage, the carts provided were a back saver and the ease, the security in place, and the cleanliness of the unit were very impressive. I am a student and affected by the coronavirus during my move as it made everything much more difficult. I had only two people to help move into the storage unit and one to move out. I received several emails saying I would get one month free but when I asked the person working about it, they said I had to say something about it when I first secured the storage unit. You have one of the best storage facilities I have used over multiple cities and 36 years of military service. I think the security and access controls are very good. The facility is clean and easy to navigate. Two areas to comment on: first, I had a handicap accessible unit which I chose for location, but the smaller door makes lighting very poor.
