The customer service when I returned the equipment was not friendly and was hostile. I just mentioned that I need proof that the equipment was returned, and the responsible person indicated I just need to leave there as they are busy with other customers and do not have time to finish the return as the other customers have higher priority and they will check it later when they get the time and will kindly send me the receipt in an email. I later found that I can do a return online which I did, and 2 days later I have not still received the email with the final cost.Eman S.

Mixed review ... the garage type door on the back of the truck was in need of grease or what ever makes if function smoothly and easily. It was hard to roll up and down (which we did about 35 times in the course of our deliveries for the day). It made a long, exhausting day worse - my arms were sore from pulling so hard. The side mirror was too hard to adjust, I ended up leaving it in an awkward position and adjusted myself when I needed to use it. The up side, it was a truck large enough to transport our deliveries for the day. Mission accomplished. Another up side, an employee who was clearly having a bad day, made sure to find me to give back my house keys (which I had accidentally left clipped to the truck key). Merci.C. R.

This is a tough one for me. My initial reservation was for a 6x12 enclosed trailer, which I'd selected at the Maplewood location. They didn't have one, so my reservation was routed to the University Avenue location in St. Paul. Got a call from them that their trailer was going to be in the shop on Saturday, so got routed to the Como Ave location, and in the process, unbeknownst to me, my pick time changed from 8AM to 9AM. We go there at 8, informed of pick up time change, trailer due back between 8 and 8:30. Waited until 8:45, trailer did not show up. Was able to switch to a 6x12 utility trailer, but frustrating to have been switched locations multiple times and still not able to get the trailer type reserved.Brian W.
I had 24/7 pickup at this location. Was there an hour before the facility opened and tried to get my truck. The reply I had online said to pick up truck an hour later when the facility opened. I called and Uhaul confirmed my early arrival and gave me credit. When I got there to pick up truck, I found out that this facility does not do 24/7 pickup. The guy got me out the door in about 3 minutes. The guy even commented that they should have on their website it is no longer a 24/7 pickup. This employee was very helpful even when I returned the truck 2,5 hours later and apologized and I said it was not your fault. Uhaul needs to update their information on main website to reflect this and save angry customers.Edward G.

Overtime I have appreciated U-Haul compared to his competition like for the past decade or so it has become clear to me that this office, that's the intersection of, and 280, is superior and just about any way to any competition within U-Haul or from outside. The storage is just one more thing that they're doing very well and it ties in very well with renting their vehicles. When I looked at the condition of the van I was renting, I mentioned several spots on the front seats to the Uhaul staff person. He assured me I wouldn't be charged a cleaning fee. After I returned the van, at a busy time in late afternoon, I was told to leave the keys in the van and that I would be emailed a receipt. When I received the receipt, it included a 25 $cleaning fee. So I returned to the rental location the day after I had rented and returned the van, explained the situation, and arranged to get the cleaning charge removed. This is the only time I have had any issues while renting vehicles at the Como Ave. location, which I will rent from again and would still recommend. Better communication between staff members and with customers about cleaning fee charges is what I would recommend.David Z.

Initially the ETA for delivery was 10/10. I got the shipment at destination on 9/30, after which i expected the UHAUL to give a call and schedule delivery but i didn't get any calls. On calling UHAUL, i was told that my delivery was scheduled for 10th Oct which i thought was an estimate date. If you have the container at destination, why not deliver it? Secondly, when i scheduled my delivery for 10/6, someone called me in the morning to inform that the driver isn't available for delivery. I had some helpers coming at home to move my stuff that day which needed to be rescheduled because the uBOX is not delivered yet. This could have been avoided.Niraj K.
Was good but they charges us for 2 gallons of gas more, not a big deal, but a good learning 1) if gauge is a little below not on the fuel mark do not accept and state that in the checkout. 2) always refuel the tank yourself before returning (forgot this time due to time crunch) 2 gallons over charge not a big deal, but if they do that to all customers, it adds up. Would be better if they give you the amount due when you check out and can revie it, vs emailing and then you can't go back to the vehicle.JAY R.
Return end was fine. Equipment was 15 footer and car trailer. All worked great. 2200 mile haul thru mtns etc. All functioned great. Pick-up was another story. Reserved at a preferred location but that's a hoax, esp fora one way delivery. Had to go to two different locations for. truck and trailer. No apology or anything. I would just like to say that the manager and staff here is excellent. There was a problem with the bill, partially my own fault, I had requested pads over the phone, but then didn't request them at the counter, and I never looked over my contract. The pads were on there so I ended up getting charged 110 $for missing pads and the rental of the pads. I should have checked over the contract before I left. Anyway the manager was very professional, calm, and quickly understood the problem and took care of it. I was a difficult customer and him and the other staff person I was talking to at first did an excellent job of handling the situation. I run a moving business and rent from U-Haul all the time, so I appreciate U-Hauls honesty and quick response with regard to the refund.John H.

I have one very big complaint about the service I received while renting a truck on Thursday, September 30th, 2021. On my receipt I notice that I was charged for two I items that I did not have a part of my rental agreement. I was charged for 6 furniture pads -5,00 $ and one Utility Dolly -7,00 $. I called the rental location and they did not answer so I was transferred to the call center in Atlanta. I spoke to a very nice and helpful person who noted my concern (wrote it down to share with the rental location) and said someone at the rental location would call me about the 12 $overcharge. It is now three days latter and no me has called me. I am not at the point where I plan to drive to the rental location to speak to someone in person!!!!!!Randy M.

I originally scheduled my reservation for south Minneapolis which is right by my house. It wasn't until I was driving to the south Minneapolis location that I noticed my reservation had changed to the St Paul location! Extremely inconvenient because it's such a far drive and that cut into my reservation window. The email that got sent informing me of the location change was filtered by Google so I never saw it (I was also traveling on business and not checking personal emails very closely). In the future, a push notification in the app or a phone call would be great to ensure customers actually know of the change , and complimentary extension of the reservation window for the major inconvenience would go a long way.Brad W.

I was told by the person at check in that they didnt have the furniture dollys. And none of the blankets or the two mattress bags were in the uhaul. Lack of parking on-site is an issue. I made two rentals in the past few days. I discovered on my second rental that I was overcharged on the first. I am pleased that I was able to get friendly and effective staff support when I raised the issue resulting in a refund of the over -charges but dismayed that it occurred in the first place.EARL N.
The pickup and drop off location was great. My problem is with uhaul and the reservation process. I reserved my truck on-line about 8 days prior to my move. When I did, the website told me the truck size I needed was at a location so I reserved it, along with an appliance dolly, utility dolly, packing blankets and furniture dolly. Two days prior to my move, I get a confirmation call from uhaul confirming my pickup at a different location 30 miles further and in a different state. I told the lady that isn't going to work, and she said she would transfer my call to the regional center, and than hung up on me. The next day, I get a call confirming my pick up at a completly different location than the day before, and for 1pm. I reserved for 8am, and made my plans for help moving out of a 5 bedroom house for that time. After telling the lady that wasn't going to work, she transferred to the regional center. While on the phone with the regional center, admittedly I was frustrated, but did not get hostile or use profanity. The lady said my reservation was never guaranteed as per my email. As I kept asking how and why she just said it was never guaranteed. It is only 16 miles from my location. Not knowing what it takes to get there due to road closure and construction, which is why I reserved my truck in the first place. Than she hung up on me also. My question is, why have a reservation website if you cant reserve a moving truck? Its like reserving airline tickets only to find out the day before that no, now you're flying at this time to a different location. What kind of business model is that? Also, what kind of culture does a company have where a customer is upset so they hang up on them? By far, the worse moving experience I have ever had. I moved alot while in the military and this was my worse one. I will never recommend or use uhaul again.JASON P.
This location never answered phone. 800# and local don't have same pricing. Also Como reg office, transportation & reservations must not communicate as they all have different info and not updated. Took days to get my rental updated between Como and reservation so I wouldn't be billed over 300 $which had been pd 2 weeks earlier. Best bright spot the woman delivering my boxes has worked for U-haul for years. She is excellent at her job. Wish she ran the local office I guarantee it would run more efficiently.JOANY C.

When renting the trailer, the customer service rep was extremely rude, not only to me but to all the other customers in the shop. I find it rather unprofessional for staff to be complaining about their pay to customers, and furthermore, for staff to be swearing and using profanity in talking with customers. I am also extremely upset by the fact that uhaul charged the wrong card and now I am unable to pay other bills due to them charging the wrong crad. I specifically asked to have a different card on file. the customer service rep took my card but did not ma,e any changes as I now have been billed on my check card and not the credit card I had asked to have it billed on. The entire return process was a mess... when I came in to drop my rental boxes off the worker (Anthony) told me that he couldn't get me a checkout receipt that day because he was too busy. Instead he had me leave the boxes and give him my name. Two days passed and I never received the email receipt he promised he'd send. Upon checking a few days later, the boxes were still not checked in so I returned to the store and was able to get them checked in and was issued a receipt and a 1 cent refund. The trailer I reserved was not returned in time for my pickup time. I had the 50 $guarantee which I was reimbursed so money was not a problem. The staff was so wonderful and apologetic for this problem that was not even their fault. I was called ahead of time and told the trailer will not be ready and they found me another local location that I could find a trailer that fit my needs. My trailer was waiting for me at the St. Paul location and the staff was so friendly and helped me out with everything I needed. After my pickup, I was called again by the Apple Valley location and once again was told how sorry they were for the situation. I couldn't have been happier with the way they handled the situation. They gave me a Truck that was parked at where they'll park a Truck that wasn't supposed tp be rented out. The Manager and 2 other employees couldn't figure out what is wrong or why the truck parked there. So they gave me the key and said that the customer before me probably parked at the wrong place. The Truck was parked in between of two other Uhaul so I didn't bother to check the passenger side and I drove off. Right when I entered the Highway to where I need to pick up my furnitures. I realized that the Right Mirror of the Truck is missing. Due to the design of the Highway, It put me at the yellow line when I switched Highway. At that time I was going wild fearing I gonna run someone over if I try to get to the very right line get off the Highway. I had no vision of anything on my right side. This is a very busy road where u move little inches evey second. Heading on 94 Highway cutting Downtown Minneapolis. I almost ran over some car trying to make slow turns in hope someone would notice something is wrong or let me pass. The good thing is that I wasn't along and my brother was on another car. They were able to notice that I might need help turning right when I use the signal for over 30sec without turning. They then block the right line and let me make the switch in line. That's how we travel in out trip to get out furnitures that's closing at 5pm. We pick up the truck at 4:00pm I had to make it there.Jan X.

I am not pleased with the service I have received from U-Haul over the past several weeks. I have had two contract #'s: 21920862 and 828465561. 21920862-- I requested a 5x8 trailer. Was told there wasn't one in the M/SP area, yet when I went by U-Haul sites in the city, there were several sitting on lots, I took the 6x12. This was to be a one-way rental to St. Louis, to be turned in on 9/14. U-Haul did locate a 5x8 in M/SP, so I turned the 6x12 in at 2520 Como St, St. Paul. I was charged 702,13 $ for this trailer. I was told I would get a refund since I turned it in on 9/2, since this became a one-way to St. Paul. I have yet to receive any refund 82846561--- This was to be a one-way rental to St. Louis, turning it in on 9/14. This was a replacement for the 6x12, which was not my choice from the site at 2520 Como St, St. Paul. I was charged 453,58 $ and was told the manager at the Como site would be giving me a refund for the 6x12 trailer. I have not received this refund as promised over a week ago. I received a call today from the St. Louis site, asking about the 5x8 trailer and I told the person I had requested to turn it in on 9/14. It will be turned in by 4 pm on 9/14. When I went to turn traler in this afternoon, I was told I wowed 298 $. I like this price much better than the 453 $I was charged. The Gen Mgr, then said I didn't owe anyuthing, as I showed him the contract. The miscommunication, lack of product and unkept promises has driven me to never use U-Haul again. I run a bicycle tour company and have needed a trailer on several occasions to operate my business, but I am now taking my business elsewhere. Dennis HughesDennis H.

This is a terrible experience because you never know how much money you are spending. You give a quote but then keep adding charges. Something I thought was going to cost 600 $now looks like it is costing me 1 000 $. Everything should be obvious up front and it isn't. Plus, why can't you schedule a pickup and drop off in one sitting. I had to wait until my stuff was picked up to even know if I'd get it back for moving day. That's dumb.David G.

There need to be clear signage in the building regarding after hours access. We were locked out during our move in with our unit still open inside with belongings in it. It would have been nice to been given either an announced warning the doors would be locking or at the very least have the time the doors lock posted on the access entry. I do realize that the hours are in the email that is sent but after spending 2 straight days moving a lot of people are not going to read through the email they just want to get finished with their move. Other than that the the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the location is clean and security seems to be a priority. I moved out on 7/20 then was charged for my unit that was billed on 7/27 as well as a late fee and an embarrassing letter stating that I didn't pay my bill was sent to my emergency contact. Keelin(I'm not sure if this is how you spell his name) at the St Paul store on Highway 280 was totally awesome. He helped me clear up a mistake I made with a smile. He was patient and kind and very supportive to my needs. Also overhearing the interactions with each person that works in this location was caring, nice and seems like the other customers were enjoying their experience as well. This store on como ave in Minneapolis/St. Paul area is advertised as a 24 hr storage unit, so I got there at around 7pm right as the office was closing down for the day, yet I managed to get service and I got to rent a unit for my stuff. However as I was wrapping up my move, I still had just a couple of things to bring when all of a sudden the door locked on me and couldn't come in anymore having to leave a lot of my stuff unattended all thru the night and Im glad nothing got stole, but I feel like this happened because any of the ppl that worked there did not tell me anything about it. That is not even the whole problem. There is a phone number on multiple signs that say to call the gm for after hours service, but the phone would go straight to voicemail making this situation a lot more frustrating and unnecessary that it needed to be. I even called costumer service for help and they couldn't even reach this guy and or couldn't help me at all. I wasted over 3 hours dealing with this that day and at the end I just gave up and left only to come back in the morning just to secure the unit I just rented. You guys need to be more clear about you overnight policy or at least tell your customers about it. That didn't have to be as frustrating and difficult like it was that night/morning. Overall the experience went fine. However, I did have a "hickup" that really should be addressed. When I rented the truck and took advantage of the storage unit deal, I asked specifically about 24 hour access. I knew that I would be moving late into the night so this was important. I was told I had 24 hour access. This was not the case. At 10pm the dock sliding doors locked me out. Here I was with a partially loaded truck, carts in the passage near my storage and my storage door open with no access. I pushed the After-Hours intercom button, no answer. I called the After-Hours number for Matt Underwood, no answer and directed right to automated voicemail. I then called the customer service number, obviously no answer there. I then called the alarm company who was able to give me the number to someone else, This person did answer and was able to grant me access. He did explain however that 24-hour access is a PAID service the I did not have. This is something that should have been explained by the counter rep who checked my out. I don't have to explain the stress and concern this experience caused me Since obviously I couldn't simply leave. Loading dock area very well laid out. Office for registration/ checkin OK, but there should be a separate checkin and waiting area for storage versus vehicle rental customers...and a posted outline of checkin for BOTH types of customsrs.Current construction makes finding anything difficult so you need to compensate by posting in big print process for each customer type. ALSO EACH STORAGE CUSTOMER MUST RECEIVE A LARGE PRINT.COPY OF THE LEASE BEFORE BEING ASKED TO SIGN IT. LAST COMMENT ....hire a Minnesota lawyer to look at your Lease.
