It would be expected that U-haul would provide directions on how to disengage the towing enablement in the truck so that the truck does not consume so much fuel when I did not inform U-haul that I needed to tow. The truck consumed over 50 dollars worth of fuel for 22miles of driving. The staff that I dropped the key with actually had the nerve to laugh at me when I asked why the truck consumed so much fuel for such a mileage. It seems to me that U-haul did this knowing that a lot of customers would overlook this and just pay. This is a scam and a company of this size should not need to scam customers particularly when new companies can spring up and compete with your company based on the scamming customers have gone through with your company. Furthermore, it kills the reputation of your company if there was one before. I will not use your company again due to this.Abidemi A.
The young lady inside was helpful. The other young lady sent to hook up trailer was rude and wouldn't listen to a driver who has 35 years of pulling and hooking up to a trailer. I was overcharged due to the fact that my rental return time was entered incorrectly! The young ladies at the Grand Prairie store were more interested in conversing with one another about the baby one of the girls had there in the store. I brought the key to them stating that I did not want to be charged extra and did I have to use the online process. She said no that only applies to the after hour process and that all I needed to do was return the key to the truck and all would be fine. That certainly was not the case. I should have followed my gut and insisted on a return receipt on the spot but I was extremely tired and sweaty after moving in 103 degree heat. Totally unacceptable...Thomas C H.

I understand that every facility is different and it was also my fault for going when help was unavailable, but the instructions to get inside were not clear. I didn't know that I had to enter my code twice. On keypads located less than 50 steps away from each other no less. I would add those steps to the move in email. I called the location and the representative Caitlyn answered the call put me on hold and never answered the call. I hung up and called back she asked if she could put me on hold again. I told her I would like to be helped. She said I'm sorry I do have a line. I got in my car and drove to the location and there was no line. I was still on the line and Caitlyn is still standing behind the counter doing nothing. After about 5 minutes she calls for the next person in line. It was me still waiti my for her to pick up the phone to help me apparently just laid the phone down and didn't pick it up again. There was no music or tape asking to go on line. Lack of communication. When I picked up the truck I thought someone was gonna bring the truck around for me but I realized I had to go find it myself. Dropping off was about the same as far as figuring stuff out on my own or asking. Other than that I had a positive experience. My recommendation is for the workers to be clear on how what to do during pick up and drop off so no one is confused.Christy N.

The mobile pick up foced me to scan my license front and back 3 times. The vehicle was fine, but there was only one exit as the arrows pointed you to a second exit that was blocked by cones and 10' trucks. The layout is inconvenient as I was forced to back up toward the entrance from I20 with limited viewing. The people were nice, the facility itself needs more thought. Also, phone service always takes 15 minutes to reach someone that sends you to another person who takes 15 minutes. I tried to switch locations for return and was told on the 2nd number I was required to call and hold for that this was not allowed. Makes no sense.JENNIFER H.

Mattie, the sales rep that assisted us was very pleasant and helpful. Due to several unforseen circumstances, we were an hour late returning the truck. Mattie called to check on us. Ist truck ordered leaked large quantitles of oily fluid in my drivway after driving 0nly 4 miles. (Cost to clean up (75.00, plus th time it will take to clean up this mess). Very poorly maintaained. When returned to location for new truck, Employee Craig Jones was rude, ill mannered and in need of recurrent customer service training. This event cost me 2 hours of lost time making it impossible to do the 2 local trips I had planned. It also cost me 100 in idle wages for the loading help while this fiasco was sorted out. That is a minimumof 175 I lost. they also did not email me a receipt as promised when truck was returned. I have rented from this location several times before and now find I must choose another vender or location as I can not continue to loose money and time on a rental. I had a poor experience with my drop off today. As previously mentioned, my storage reservation was not honored and I had to fix it myself by calling 1-800-GOUHAUL. I am disappointed that the burden of fixing these types of problems is placed on the customer as opposed to the U-haul personnel at the store helping/having access to see what storage units are available at surrounding uHaul locations. I also had another significant inconvience at the 3020 I-20 location in Grand Prarie, where I was ultimately referred to to complete a subsititute for my storage reservation. My tow dolly had been left at the I-30 MacArthur location since I no longer needed it, and when I was ready to leave the truck at the 3020 I-20 location they informed me I could only â€œsplit the contractâ€ by calling the 1-800-GO-UHAUL myself. After 30 minutes on the phone, someone on the other end was easily able to resolve the issue. Why not give the people in the store the ability to solve these â€œissuesâ€? Once I was done with the lady on the phone I just told the people in office she said I was good to fgo and that was that. 30 minute inconvenience that could easily be avoided if the in store personnel had the ability to resolve this simple â€œissueâ€. please address the reservation system and find ways to stop placing the burden of unfulfilled reservations on the customer. It would greatly enhance the user experience and make me more likely to use uHaul's services in the future.Devin M.

Rates more than doubled from $109 to $248 for the same trailer and time period. That's unacceptable. On top of that, I had to drive nearly 30 miles to pick it up vs. my preferred pick-up location. Packing blankets were not available there and I had to drive to Irving to pick them up. I was under a timeline and this has been the worst experience I've had with U-haul over the years. Although 10 % credit and an extra day given, it did not make up for the extra high rental price, gas, time and hassle we had to experience. It's disappointing that U-haul has resorted to price gouging the middle class.John P.

Inexperience employees made the entire process time consuming and costly. The same people handling the storage units also handles the trucks. I was late a couple of times on storage and I don't excuses my actions but you charge $35 amount late fee .And will call 2 and 3 times a day for money. While I will say the staff did their best to accommodate us so we can get the requested storage size, when we got there the size was not available. We were told that it was first come serve basis. We agree to take whatever that was available. However, as we started unloading staff, it was disappointing that the supervisor on the shift was orchestrating a scheme to steal clients's items. They stated they thought the items were left behind, meanwhile we saw one lady who was not in uhaul uniform opening clients boxes and bags, and then the supervisor allowed her to pack in her car. The office did not have my reservation. I showed them my confirmation on my phone and the guy helping the girl stated he didn't have any reservation in their computer. They could not offer what we had reserved so we had to take a smaller unit that did not hold all of our items. Very disappointed!David S. | Premières impressions
