Not a particularly inviting location, located in a busy downtown area. Trailer we reserved wasn't available so staff upgraded us to a larger 2-axle trailer at no additional charge.

WILLIAM BI had ordered and paid for a furniture dolly with my rental but it was not included. The employees were vague about which van I was to take so I'm hopeful I took the right one, but it made me a bit nervous that I had taken the wrong van when the dolly wasn't in it.
RACHEL WMillion times over this location doesn't skip a beat... Respectful and multitasking courtesy which shows that every customer is important. They deserve a star of excellence
AJA SThe customer service was excessively slow and the truck itself was not maintained or safe to drive. When I was driving down from Charleston the truck was very difficult to control, it felt like something was wrong in the steering column. There was an issue with the doors not shutting very well, the latch seemed weak. When I dropped it off at the end location the recipient said he had not seen a UHaul truck in this bad of shape and let me know that the back passenger tire was missing a chunk and low on air which likely contributed to the difficulty in driving the truck. The engine was making strange noises, particularly on startup. It might have been a loose belt but it was a very concerning screeching noise.

NICHOLAS KI had a reservation. I go in 2 minutes past my reservation time and she said she cannot give me the truck because 2 people ahead of me have booked. So because 2 people ahead of me booked, they still provided me with a booking time/truck confirmation. This is unacceptable. Luckily the staff was very nice, and just gave me a truck from someone who was late to their reservation. Im sure they're not happy either. Dont use UHaul at all.

Mihajlo MI reserved a 26 foot truck and was called 30 minutes before my pick up time and told it wasn't available. I was then offered a smaller truck that added mileage and ended up spending more than my original quote and my move was harder because of the smaller truck. Not locations fault.

Charles CWhen I brought the trailer home and opened it up, it was full of garbage and Asain food. So I had to clean out the trailer and then use sink detergent to clean it. After letting it air for a few hours, it was okay. However, some of my belondings still smell like fried rice, which kind of sucks!
Eric TOur experience working with U-Haul to rent a truck to move my daughter from college was a positive experience. The folks at the pick up and drop off locations were very helpful. Everything went very smooth. The truck was clean and in good condition when we picked it up. I will definitely use U-Haul again the next time I have to move one of my children to or from college.

JONATHAN FThis trailer was given to me and not working. I could not haul it back and he also gave me the wrong one!!! I refuse to pay for this. He was late for pick up which made me late for what I needed the trailer for. Location was in very poor condition. Not organized. Didn't even know how to check me out properly. I even told him the drop off location. He gave me the price!! I sent the location to his phone. We discussed drop off differently. This location needs to be checked on how they do things. Because it's not properly. I had fuses blow in my car when I hooked up and didn't know till I was pulled over by state police for no running lights. This overall was a disgusting and poor experience. I refuse to pay this and wouldn't recommend this location if it was the last one in the state
HARRIETT LMaybe communicate to the customer who is standing directly in front of you? Lots of crosstalk among employees, and I'm more than happy for someone to be trained on the job with me as an example, but any acknowledgement from the staff about what was happening would have been very welcome.
ELIZABETH DThe staff at the King Street location are the best. Whenever I need a moving vehicle, I always check their inventory first. They always have what I need, are very friendly & handle reservations quickly so I'm out the door in 5 minutes. They lessen the stress of moving. Thanks y'all!
SARAH CThis was the second time that I rented their car hauler trailer. Very pleased with the price and most pleased with the ease of use and quality/sturdiness of the trailer. I'll go there first for any hauling needs.

JESUS BHad a late night pickup. We requested furniture blankets and none were in the truck. The back roll up door was zip tied shut and a broken lock was left hanging on a chain beside roll up door latch. The driver side seatbelt was not functional and unsafe to drive. We had to refuse this truck at 10 pm causing us to set up a new reservation for a new truck to be picked up at 7 am the following day with movers showing up at our house at 8 am to load the truck. Also found the process of all the hoops you have to jump through to acquire the keys after hours to be very frustrating

Richard SPurchased loading services and had employees refuse to load. That stated they were not allowed to for years. Then why does manager sell the service at the desk inside?
FRANK BI chose counter pick up. I still had to do mobile pick up, despite the fact my app kept having me redo the check in form multiple times. The employees were unable to do anything for 40 minutes until we could finally get the check in form complete Then, i receive the truck, it was parked and waiting for me. I had rented a dolly and blankets and upon getting to our destination, i discovered i didn't have a dolly or blankets. Luckily it was a local move but I had drive back to U-Haul to get those 2 items. Then only the small dolly was available as we received 1 pack of blankets. We were charged for the large dolly and 2 10 packs. I tried to not this on the turn in form, since we turned in after hours. But we were still over charged. Overall the experience was the worst one I've had with U-Haul yet

Frank PI thought I reserved for this location. I didn't realize I was switched online to a different one. This location didn't have(?) a van ( the one in the lot is just for display?) and offered a 10ft. I reluctantly took it and drove nervously. It all worked out. Thank you.

CAROLYN CI wanted to pay the bill on line and couldn't find on the contract the customer number. I call in after being put on a very long hold I was told they couldn't find a balance on me. I was told the only way to find out is when I rent something again.

I have a discharge email stating that my discharge was complete. I follow all the steps and I took all the pictures and I sent the pictures in and I kept the email that I was sent for proof of my discharge.

The ceiling area in the storage facility needs some work as it appears to have had a lot of leaking issues for a long time. They do their best to clean it and deal with the leaks. One of the men that works with the trucks, coming and going , always made himself available to help me carry, lift, and place items in my vehicle. I never had to ask and he always made himself available. He was particularly polite, professional, helpful and kind.

I had to go to two different U-Haul facilities just to get a truck and a hitch for my car. But when I got to Charleston I met Mike. He works at the King Street U-Haul facility. He was very instrumental in making the rest of my move smooth. My daughter nickname him Magic Mike. People like Magic Mike Elijah and TJ are hard to come by.

Several others have no concept of the importance of the customer experience (they are "Debbie Downers") and the customer leaves feeling that they are not important to the company. These employees fail to understand that the money they are paid comes ONLY from the customer and that they work for the customer. They undermine the business and prevent it from standing out as a great place to do business with.

This is a busy office but I received excellent service as if I was the only customer present. I have been waiting for the opportunity to note the amazing service delivered by Latosha (excuse misspelling). After a 13 hour drive to King st and a 13 hour return home planned the next day, I hoped for anything to make unpacking the unit and packing the trailer easier. Latosha did everything to make it easier! I pulled out of the parking lot thrilled because we were in and out so much quicker (and easier )than anticipated. Merci.

I got a U-Haul from another dealer and when I pulled up at King street with my first load to store, one of the young men noticed the trailer wasn't hitched properly. He corrected the issue. I was checking out and running a little late and the staff stayed around an extra 30 minutes for me to finish. This team has excellent customer service.

Also, the recurring payment choice never worked, and each month I had to call and hope they would remove late fee.
Michael M | Expérience généraleThis is the only place that I know of that charges twice as much than anyone else to store items in a flood plain, Of course there is no grace period for paying the rent, even if you can't get to the storage area due to a flood. Just out of curiosity, if the storage area were flooded and stayed flooded for 6 months straight, would you still charge rent for those six months during which our items were under water? I will not be back and neither will anyone that I speak with.
Jesse Z | Expérience généraleThere need to be trash cans more centrally located within the Uhaul storage area itself, the fact that we had to walk all the way around the entire building to get to the dumpster was extremely time consuming and ill-efficient. Clearly others feel the same way because there was constantly trash strewn through out the corridors. There is always a super long line in the customer service area and oftentimes associates who are unwilling and uninterested in helping whatsoever. On several occasions we had issues with Carol, who was not only demeaning, and apathetic but has the customer service ability of a dirty diaper. Sadly enough, she is the Manager or Owner!! As the highest on payroll she deserves a severe demotion and someone else needs to run that place. The only thing this place has going for it is its location and proximity to downtown. That and theres a young man who works there named TJ who is the diamond in the rough at that place. He works mostly outside, in the heat, helping to return and clean out the Uhauls. Our interaction with him was the only positive experience we can glean from patronizing with this Uhaul. He deserves a raise and a promotion for maintaining a positive attitude, being helpful, dilligent, willing to go above and beyond for the customer, all amidst clearly poor conditions and management that he has to work with. I hope his spirit doesnt get broken by the terrible attitudes of his colleagues and I hope UHAUL as a company regonizes his hard work and enacts stricter guidelines for the rude "managment" and "Customer service" agent you all have employed there.
