It's not really this locations fault I guess. Butâ€¦Whoever used the truck last did not do something right. I used it from 4:30-7:30 pm today 11/28/22, drove it from Melrose avenue down to Fincastle/Buchanan, ONE trip there and back, to get some furniture. But when I entered the miles â€œ11695â€ which is what was on the odometer, this thing tried to say I drove 338 miles! What!! I had to put 11395 just to get it to go to 38, which STILL isn't right by my calculations, but okâ€¦ all I know is I hope I don't get some kind of bogus charge from this.Amanda D.

This is the second location that I had to go to in Roanokeâ€¦ the man who manages the Williamson rd location in Roanoke is very unorganized and unprofessionalâ€¦ took him 20 minutes to take my reservation the day before, when I arrived at 8 the next morning he had no record of my reservation!! He proceeded to do it all over again , did it wrong had to do it again, he passed it off to a co worker who then screwed it up. I just walked out went to this store and was loaded and down the road in15 minutes!! Maybe the young lady should take the manager job at the Williamson location!!!chris E.

You no longer take debit cards for trucks and vans. Customers should be aware of this before going to the store. It could be stated when you are putting a card on hold for the reservation.Mark M.

I have rented many times from U-haul, and have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, however that kid working at the Melrose location said, " Oh just drop it out there in that line with the others, and I'll take care of it later". He didn't even look to make sure there was no damage to the 6x12 tandem axle trailer. He didn't even offer to help me unhook it, and the tongue weight on the thing is not real light, and this didn't help my already aching back nor my Hy-Hernia. Somebody needs to take that kid out behind the wood shed and whoop a little politeness and courtesy into him.Brian L.

My only complaint is that I was 20 minutes after the drop off time and I got charged for a whole another day which you know was another $40 on to my already $260 for just two days. I have spent probably 10 plus $1 000 maybe 20 in the past 2 years on U-Hauls and it's very frustrating to me that with that amount that I have spent to return it in the proper condition clean and filled to the right amount of gas that I'm still having to pay an additional days worth of rental when I didn't use it for that time.Catherine V.
Not the best location at all.. then again, you don't typically get the best options for location when renting the biggest one (least I never gave, which has been a lot)â€¦but not the biggest issue. Biggest issue was the fact there were still dirty, bloody syringes in the back of the truck upon renting such. Employee was so lazy that they couldn't even sweep it out firstâ€¦ there was much more trash., but my only main/real concern was the fact there was a syringe with lots of blood on it just chillin on the floorâ€¦ waiting for the opportunity to either poke someone and/or possibly infect them with something life threatening 路â€â™€ï¸Jen L.

They promised a truck 3 days in advanced at a location where I needed it. I had to leave work early to get a truck from another location. I filled the truck to the exact level and was charged for 3 gallons. Go fuck off.Jason G.

Make the customer aware before arrival if equipment requested is not available. This allows time for the customer to make adjustments. What if my movers didn't have equipment? That was frustrating when a little heads up would have been very helpful. Staff was nice and friendly. Quick and efficient.Joyce B.
Firstly, after I picked up my reserved truck, I went to the storage unit and when I went to start loading, I realized that there was no ramp. I immediately called and explained to Jaydan and he said, that was the truck I reserved but I explained that when I initially made the reservation, I requested the same truck I had last time which was a few months back. Apparently, no one checked after the last return or prior to my reservation. I return the truck within minutes and was given: DC 1343D truck. I conducted a walk-around and took photos of the front bumper damage and mentioned to Jaydan of the front bumper, the 1/4 tank of gas and the loud noise coming from the exhaust. He claimed that it was the Catalick Converter. But it sounded more like the muffler/exhaust. And as I drove, it was getting louder and louder and rattling noises as well. The truck and ramp was filthy, and it was really embarrassing driving into, and out of a quiet neighborhood with that loud truck. As the truck climbed small hills it got louder and louder. I did not feel safe driving that vehicle but since I had to return it at 8pm, I didn't have time to return it and and go through the process a 3rd time. With a fleet of vehicles U-Haul has in their possession, this particular truck should not have been rendered to any customer, and should be retired! It is still unclear as to why I was given that unsafe vehicle in the first place. As I was viewing my receipt just now, I noticed that I was charged $23,1 for 4 gallons of gas. I made sure I returned the gas I used before returning the vehicle. I have the gas receipt, and I also took before and after photos of the milage and gas guage. This is unacceptable service! They need to refund me!.Keith W.
Pick up and drop off locations should not change during the process and for goodness sake should be where you text notifications say they are. This practice of changing locations must be routine because the sales person said it happens all the time. Why??? We made our reservation 5/6 days in advance. I would think that is ample time for uhaul to plan. It certainly wasn't last minute.Stacey K.

There was a mechanical problem with the ramp that was not discovered until I was already away from the store. There no real way to report such things in the app and/or the website. I will also say that I did have a flat tire while driving with a full truck. I do not think this was due to faulty equipment. I was extremely impressed with the speed of the UHaul road help service (definitely worth the $5-10 extra). The agent was almost immediate in calling me and maintained texting throughout the entire ordeal. Even though it took the truck service over an hour to arrive, the tire was changed quickly (and effectively), and the truck A/C worked perfectly during the entire stop. I would suggest that every customer pay the extra money.matt F.

When we finally got our UHaul, it was at this location, and we were fine with the trailer we received. It needed to be swept out, but wasn't horrible. A simple sweep out prior to renting out could have improved our thoughts on cleanliness. Our biggest concern actually was with U-Haul in general, as our first reservation was available at the location we selected and delayed our moving trip by a day. The 2nd attempt at reservation, we made online again, and morning of, told it wouldn't be available. Luckily calling the 800# brought us to an available trailer. But the whole ordeal caused us a lot of anguish and stress, considering we were moving my daughter and had a limited window to get it done. Overall, not a pleasant experience, but luckily didnt ruin the entire moving plan once we located an available trailer. Poor service to tell someone you have an available vehicle, only to find out last minute it's not going to be there. Could have been disastrous.Derek S.
