The desk lady Amber is appalling and abusive to customers. She abused and misbehaved with me. The manager Ross was an eye witness to it and did nothing. I did not rent a truck to go through such bs experience and humiliation at the hands of an associates who clearly not capable or qualified of working a professional job. She must be fired and relieved immediately to avoid any more damage for Uhaul brand and services.

November 18th, I scheduled a hitch installation at the Grapevine Mills (TX) location. The employee that I spoke with scheduled my installation for Thanksgiving day to which the installer contacted me to let me know that he wouldn't actually be working that day. I called customer service and spoke with an employee who transferred the hitch installation service to the Harry Hines location. She informed me that I would have to pick up the materials from the Grapevine location and that because I was quoted a certain price for the installation, she would leave a note for the installer at the Harry Hines location to price match. She emailed me a copy of the itemized receipt, told me that the calculated price was incorrect and to not worry about it, and added the note about price matching. November 26 at 11 AM, I arrive at the Harry Hines location to drop off my vehicle. When the employee at the front desk asks if the card on file is okay to charge I ask her what the price will be and she tells me an amount that I was not quoted for. I show her the email with the note. She states that she cannot change it but the manager would be in later and he could fix it. I ask her how long it would take, she says about 2-3 hours and that someone will call me when it's ready. 7 hours go by and I do not receive a phone call. I call the store and get no answer so I'm transferred to customer service. The gentleman tells me that my car should be ready and to just go pick it up. Once I arrive at the location the installer tells me that my car had been ready for two hours and when I asked why no one called me he didn't have an answer for me. I sit down to pay the charge and I ask what the price will be. George, the manager, tells me a price that is several hundred dollar's higher than what I was quoted and I explain the situation to him. George tells me that that's his price and that he won't be changing it because customer service cannot change the prices “at his store.” I ask him to call customer service so that he can straighten things out with them, he refuses and tells me that I need to call them. I explain to him that I, as a customer, do not work for uhaul and do not know how they deal with their pricing so it would've been the least efficient option for me to call when he was going to have to speak with them anyway. He continued to refuse. After, several minutes of going back and forth I leave out of the store and then return. George is having a conversation with a male customer who was also having issues with his quoted price and George accommodated that customer with little to no issue. Being that I witnessed this exchange, I asked him why he didn't have a problem accommodating that customer and George decided after several minutes of arguing with me and refusing to change the price that he could accommodate me and charge me closer to my quoted price. However, George is still charging me $14 more than what my original quoted price was. I ask him why and he tells me that the price is the best he could do and that he won't be dropping it any further because “he could get audited.” I told him that I would be happy to forward him the email that customer service sent me with the note about price matching. He didn't find that necessary. While all of this is transpiring George is on speaker phone with an employee at the Harry Hines location for what reason I'm still unsure. The employee on the phone wasn't helpful and focused the conversation on the fact that I was “yelling” at her. George had her on speakerphone. I wasn't near the speaker. Because I had people waiting on me outside of the store I decided not to press the issue. But, I was still overcharged, not accommodated, and met with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Not at just uhaul but at any business I have ever paid money at. I am a female customer and I think George felt that he was going to assert his will and that I was going to concede. This only became clear when he had no issue accommodating the male customer who had a pricing issue. I spent a solid 35 minutes in the store with George after waiting an additional two hours (since no one called me) trying to get an issue fixed that I didn't have any hand in creating. George (and the employee at the Grapevine location) made this experience exponentially harder and stressful than it had to be.

I was given two different addresses of where to pick up the uboxes. First time was given well before my move date, the second address was given the day of. To improve, I would recommend letting the customer know days in advance, especially if they're using a moving company to pick up the uboxes.

There was only one person waiting. I had to wait 35 minutes for an appointment that I had for a truck and then to return it was impossible with the app and to try to make an account at Rami very late. It took me about 45 minutes and had to call someone just to drop off the keys and make sure I was not charged for the next day.

My reservation was mixed up with another customer and was active when I arrived to pick up my rental. The manager accommodated me, but I felt it was a safety oversight as my name was linked with a vehicle I did not rent or take out. I was charged for extra equipment, moving supplies, although I did not order them. I was issued a refund. There were also not enough staff members there to tend to the customers. It is a very busy store. Overall, mistakes happen and it was corrected. I got the services I paid for. I think better organization and attention to detail would have avoided today's issue.

The personnel at this location didn't care one whit about their job or the customer. I am very disappointed with the entire U-Haul organization & wouldn't recommend to anyone. I had to make numerous calls to several different locations & the scheduling team to advocate on my own behalf to finally get a substitute trailer that would work for what was originally reserved.

I was moving one U-Box from Dallas to Plainfield, IL in October 2022. I had read the U-Haul reviews and I realized I needed to be diligent. My U-Box was delivered on time and in heavy rain. It was bone dry inside except where the rubber seal on the door had been torn away about 6 inches. I kept the U-Box in my driveway for over a month to clean my house out to show and sell. I didn't need any of the furniture pads, so I returned them to the nearest U-Haul place immediately and I made sure, with about 3 additional phone calls, that they recorded that I had returned them so I wouldn't be charged the $25 fee if you don't. I did not have my home purchased yet in IL, I was going to stay with my niece in Chicago until I bought. When I sold my home in Dallas, my U-Box was picked up on the day that I requested. After packing it up tight, I used duct tape on the door seal to be sure it was water tight. DO NOT USE A COMBINATION LOCK ON THE UBOX. I used one that I had been using on my outdoor gate for over a year, but I almost had to call a locksmith at my new house because it took me about 12 attempts before the lock opened. There was water in the lock or something???? I made several calls to U-Haul to make sure the Box got relocated from Dallas, TX to the nearest U-Haul facility near Plainfield, IL. You can't make any edits online in your UHaul account, you have to call them. So, I rented the U-Box for about a total of 3 months, most of that time it was in my driveway, but then it was held in a Dallas location, then I had them move it to the Plainfield area and then after I closed on my new house, it was only 10 miles away. They delivered it right on time and then I requested they come back the next day to pick it up because I was going to empty it into my garage. They did. Everything was dry and nothing got broken in the move.. It costs me $120 to get it delivered to my old house in Dallas, $79 a month to rent (which I got the first month free with a special offer) $1 055 to get it shipped to Plainfield, IL and $99 to get it delivered to my new house in IL. I would recommend U-Box for your move, but be sure to call them regularly to see if they know exactly what you want them to do.

You need to update your fleet of trucks and offer larger cargo vans. The trucks are old and should be replaced, they are terrible. The people working there are helpful and courteous.

I turned in the 15' truck approximately 2-2,5 hours after picking it up. I was charged for 85 additional miles which would be completely impossible to have driven in the amount of time I had the vehicle. I asked the manager to check his cameras for the time I drove it onto the lot. Gave him a time frame of when that would have happened. Proving it would have been impossible to accumulate the miles I had been charged for. While I did manage to get a refund of those miles, he refused to believe that the truck could have been used after I had given the keys to the gal behind the counter and blamed me for not checking the mileage before I left the pickup location (which I did do but didn't take a picture of). The truck hadn't been checked in until the next day at approximately 8pm even though the keys had been turned in by 1:30ish the same day I rented it. PRO TIP… take pictures of fuel level, odometer and truck condition both before and after the rental. Do the check in and check out with a live person and make sure you look over the receipts that they email to you.

Original pickup location got switched twice so I had to drive to multiple places that were a lot further then where I made the reservation. When I walked in I was first in line after people who were already getting helped, but still waited in line for over 30 mins because the customers they were helping were having problems. Once I finally got to the counter they were able to get me set up within 5-10 mins and I was on my way. Overall pickup took an hour, and I had people waiting to help move so it turned into a stressful situation

Everything was well except a phone call I had with a person by the name of Jermaine who said he was the reservation manger. Was super rude about a simple change that has been done before. He was just telling me it was impossible to get it done, and there would be extra fees if i turned it in at another location. Very disappointed that him as a manager would talk to a customer this why.

We had tech problems for at least an hour. It took me longer to rent a van (which I had already setup on line) than I the time I used it! We had to cancel the online rental, try a second time, then finally start a third time and rent it directly from the location. I had to upload pics of my driver's license THREE times and I've had an account with uhaul for years. Also, your website sucks because it takes so long to ratchet through all the sales pitches for containers, boxes, storage units, accessories and stuff. I was dying trying to get the hell out of there. People were waiting for me. Your staff was fine. They were as frustrated as I was.

I made a reservation for 10x25 storage in advace, when I arrived they had only 10x10. The people on the Harry Hains location said that I didn't have a reservation for storage. Also the young girl(Unfortunately I don't have her name) on the front desk was not professional at all to taking care clients and she was also fighting and answered rude to her coworkers by the hand radio in front everyone. She had big attitud and never keep eye contact when I talked to her. Finally a gentleman helped me to finish with the process of returning the trailer and getting the unit. It is really frustrated because we were driving 17 hours from Florida to Texas and arrived to a place where the cuat service is poor and the reservation previously made it was not respect. At the end I have to go another place and find another storage.

Way overcharged compared to initial quote. Tire was extremely low on the back passenger side and has sidewall damage. Truck also has electrical issues in the cabin. The display for the radio and odometer go out at random. Lastly the drop off location doesn't have a drop box so I have to take the key in person once they open in the morning. Usually an excellent service, just hoping that this will shed some light.

We reserved the van 6 weeks ahead of time. 3 days before our schedules pick-up day our location was moved Further away). When we got there, the 24 moving blankets we ordered were unavailable. The employees at the front desk care at all that we had pre-ordered the moving blankets. If they had told us ahead of time, I would have made alternate plans.

Disorganized, unfriendly. Poor record keeping. I turned in the truck 1 day after rental and given no confirmation of it, then contacted 3 days later asking me where the truck was since there was no record of me turning it in. I had to call the location after receiving 2 calls from uhaul asking me for the truck. I would never rent from this location. Management unprofessional.

There was a massive line to drop equipment with no representatives outside for drop off. I went in and they told me to just drop the trailer and I could leave…I waited anyway. 30 minutes later a man came out and started moving vehicles as people were now in the street blocking traffic. The man angrily/annoyingly started unhooking trailers and told us to leave. We went in to make sure the equipment would be checked in. The representative inside assured us that the equipment would be checked in as they got caught up that day. The next day, I still had no confirmation. I called and the representative assured me they would check the trailer in within the hour, yet I had no confirmation by the end of the day. I called again the next day and the representative asked for the trailer number (luckily I had snapped a photo with the trailer number before I left) and they checked the trailer in for me.

I have had a storage unit some where for 16 years, my experience with haul has fixed that, never again having to deal with morons that would say stuff like "we just wanted you too come inside and see us" in the middle of a pandemic. No more missing flights because I had to spend hours trying to get into my storage unit because of a lock saying i hadn't paid for it which was not they case and you morons even admitted that openly. My experience was the worst thing you could ever have, the incompetence was a level I never thought possible.

The storage area is supposed to be climate controlled. It was not. Additionally the stairs were painted dark brown in a rather dark area with no caution strips. Very dangerous

ON check in found out that NO ground was or requested size was available so I was up sold on a larger more expensive room...The store representative said that a confirmation # didn't reserve a room it was a spot in line...I was completely miss lead....I'm working on a different facility for my storage needs...The electricity was out at the facility in 105 degree weather so there were NO LIGHTS or AIR conditioning.... This place is a DUMP... The. ONLY thing good about the situation was the employee there that work on finding something that worked..

The staff was not the best and we always can trouble getting in and out the main gate and the gates door to get access to our unit I moved out because for like 3 weeks already and still till this day they have not been having electricity in that place I would appreciate it if I get my refund back for this last month because y would we have to pay and they company can not even pay to get the light on/fixed not good and bad service

Worst place to rent a storage place. Nasty, hot. Employee was rude, and very slow… didn't seem to interested in his job, nor helping me. So, I just want my refund back. Also, was told I had to pay for a lock, but a free lock came with it already in the storage ??? So that didn't make any sense to me. The employee said he refunded my money back, but I haven't received it yet.

Storage was very bad, Most of the time gate will be locked or not working. We will have walk to counter ask them to open. People of counter was very lazy and slow process. It is very big location only person working on the counter. It took 30 mins to complete per person. Storage is very creepy. Maid who is working there she is very very good and patient(50+ women). Very helpful when gate code is not working. She is only one positive for this location.

Overall good assistance. Accept they confused where I would return equipment and one of the places on Ferguson we were there at 7 and no one showed up to work until 9. Either way the guy who setup the storage and all of the reps were doing their job and good customer support. Thanks

Everything was great, except that the keypad to access my unit does not work and thus I cannot access it by myself. That's really bad and made the whole experience a lot worse. Otherwise, it would have been great. I really exoect this to be fixed soon. On another note, I expected the unit to have indoor light. I would have thought that was a basic courtesy.

Issues with uhaul services 1. The exact storage space that I reserved was not available. 2. I was told by more than one rep that my reserved space would have elevator access as it was to be on the second floor. This facility does not have elevator access. 3. The only space available for the space I needed was of course more since it was on the first floor.

Nothing about my experience was good! The manager used my race against me. I've never been more humiliated and degraded. If I was not so desperate for a unit I work off walked out. The way he talked to me and the things he made me do was so racist. To say he humiliated me would not be accurate. The manager did mentally attack my character and fellas if I'm slightly above dirt beneath his feet.

Short handed in the beginning, long wait times, phone never answered. Was told about quality of customer care, was told to get out and ask people to apply for jobs. That didn't set well. Non apologetic for any additional wait times that I had during my time. I partially blame Covid, but management could have been more forthcoming with some level of empathy and concern.

Just a recommendation because my experience was great overall. There could be lighting in the actual storage unit. Motion detected preferably so people don't forget to turn it off and waste electricity. Also it was super hot in the unit I was in. Maybe some type of air flow. I had an upstairs unit and it was difficult going up and down with no air circulating.

Updating the Uhaul to have a USB port would make this excellent. I would look at other options if I have to drive 1000 miles again to see if there are USB ports. Other than that I had no issues. It uses a ton of gas.

I think they need to hire more staff. When I arrived I went in asked the older white male for assistance with the auto transport to take my car off (that's what I was told to do from Chantilly location), he advised to get in my car and someone will be over to guide me down. Here is where I had the issue I advised him that I couldn't get in because the things were blocking the doors, he said they come off just pop them off or something to that sort. I said i don't know how and I was not there when U-Haul put it together. He then rolled his eyes and shook his head as if I worked for U-Haul and I knew what he was talking about. At that point Jesse just came and told me I can help you ma'am (thank goodness). He then guides me off I advised him I'm waiting on movers where can I move truck he told me at the storage unit. Well they have not giving me one yet so no access. He then told me to pull over to the right. I waited in the truck until he can move the auto transport for maybe 5 to 10 minutes because I could not back up with it there. I got out and asked when he was moving it he told me it would be a while and just leave my truck there. I go inside speak with Barbara (very nice) she calls the young lady to show me the units. The one I selected had a big helium tank in there. She advised by the time I get back it would be moved. Well i came back the tank was right outside my unit actually in the way. However my movers moved everything in. We closed the door had a little struggle but we got it closed. Went to open it back up and it would only lift half way. Just realizing after unloading that the unit door was broken. I went and spoke with Barbara Advised her it was broken and when shut the top right side is kinda open. She then said she would get one of the men to look at it. I had to go because It was almost 3 o'clock at that moment I had been there since 12p with all the waiting and going back and forth. She then advises me to come in tomorrow and my stuff would be fine because they have cameras everywhere. This was a very stressful experience. We had just driven 20 plus hours came in expecting everything to go seamlessly and it did not.
