Furniture dolly we had reserved was not available. Box left in cab of van. Service was very slow. Cannot leave car at lot during day. Van had check engine light on and went through a surprising amount of gas, likely needs to be serviced.Cameron M.

The self check out did not work out too well. Vehicle key was not made available at the bottom of rear door as email instructions described so I had to wait for someone to retrieve it from inside the store. Everybody was nice and helpful, yet Uhaul could improve some things. I was given a form with the lever of fuel in the truck marked on it but it showed considerably more than the vehicle's actual fuel gauge. I was told by staff how to deal with this issue. (I was also told that any discrepancy when the truck is returned would be billed to me at a high price per litre.) When returning the truck, the friend who I had listed as the main driver mistakenly put far too much fuel in the truck and in that instance I was informed I would receive no credit whatsoever. This is an insulting double standard. There were scratches and scrapes which meant I had to submit my own photos to correct the ones on the site, at least one of which was of a different truck altogether, suggesting possible deliberate deception or maybe just a strange sort of mix-up. Lastly, there were four large pennants hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the office. These promised illusory savings on supplies. "Extra large box, 3,96 $ each, bundle of 10 only 39,60 $. SAVE 9,90 $" Actual saving of course is: 0,00 $! Next was "Large box 2,59 $ each, Bundle of 15 only 38,85 $, SAVE 11,40 $" Actual saving 0,00 $. Thirdly, "Medium box, 1,99 $ each, Bundle of 20, only 39,80 $, SAVE 7,20 $" Actual saving 0,00 $. Finally, there is "Small box, 1,19 $ Each, bundle of 25, 29,75 $, SAVE 4,00 $" unless it was 4,50 $, I'm not certain from the photo of this one. In any case, the actual saving was once again 0,00 $ . This whole experience makes Uhaul seem rather greedy, less than honest and manipulative. This is unfortunate because your service is otherwise exceptionally fine. Calling at 10,2 PM from Toronto and getting a gentleman on the phone quickly down in the USA who was able to answer every question was a wonderful relief. He was calm, polite, professional, patient and kind. We had an emergency with a friend and with one day's notice I was able to move him on the first of the month thanks to Uhaul. It was in some ways an exemplary experience and it's such a shame that it was marred by the issues I described above.JOZSEF I.

The place was clean enough. And the man in the lot, Michael was fine. He was friendly. But the two women in the office who received customers and handled rental contracts gave me the WORST retail experience I have ever had in my entire life. They were surly and unhelpful. They ignored me unless I called them several times. And I was met with nearly a prison camp guard warmth. While one person was working up a locker rental contract for me, she was gabbing away on the phone with a friend. If I were the boss, these people would be worst possible nightmare employees. They should N-O-T hold any kind of position where they deal with customers and the public. These two are R-U-I-N-I-N-G the good image of U-Haul. It seemed to me they hated customers and I was an unwanted presence. I was ASTOUNDED. Made me laugh, actually at the absurdity and my disbelief that this could actually be happening. Good luck fixing this mess, U-Haul. If I were you, I would take a look at who even hired these two.JEFFREY F.

The uhaul workers on the outside cleaning the vehicles were very very rude, when I had questions they were being sarcastic and were mocking me making me. They also seemed like they didn't want to work their, overall they were extremely rude and arrogant to me and my family.BIN CHENG Y.
They ended up charging me for 2days when I rented the car for less than 9hrs I spoke to 3 people all of them didn't care about the fact that I was being overcharged kept telling me if I have complaints I should call the head office. 1 day rental cost me almost 400 $. The issue is communication at pick up I was told there is a "promotio for unlimited mileage" hence the entire trip should cost me 106 $but I needed up with almost 400 $bill. Poor customer service, poor communication and robotic ppl with no empathy. Never renting from uhual ever again!! Hope the 300 $excess charge makes them great.FRANCISFENSI O.
I forgot to check the gas on truck and it's less than half but you guys indicated half on the paper, I drove 37 kilometres all together today but I had to fill 28 litres gas to match up the half tank which indirectly indicates that you guys wrongly presented half tank which actually is not.Vishnu Prasad C.
Apart from convenience of location and availability the location is poor. Always has a foul smell, service is slow, the cars are always dirty and stinking. I have hired a car for the 4th time now.Dhavalkumar P.
The staff during drop off on October 10th at 2:00pm where absolutely awful. They guy who checked in our return was extremely rude and treating me like I did something wrong. He also charged me for a 2nd day as we returned the trailer at 2:10 when we picked it up the day before at 1:50pm as per our contract. I hardly think thats providing excellent customer service for a long time customer. I don't believe being 15-20 late should result in being charged another full day. I'll be taking my business somewhere else unless this gets refunded to my card. PeterPeter S.

PROBLEM with UHaul online booking. I booked at my local location and reservation was approved. Then i received call 1 hour before pickup at STOCKYARDS, they told me they dont have my vehicle, I will have to pickup at other location 20 min. drive from my home. This caused me HUGE undue Stress and 40 $extra. *Your system needs to be Honest /truthful and indicate NOT available when client attempts online booking. Trucks are doing terrible on gas mileage, I drove 40 miles and put 50 $gas. Seems like when I got the truck it was not fully full like I did when i returned. Front window was not clean I could barely see out when sun was shining.SALMAN M.

The equipment was clean inside and the back area was clean. After the deodorant wore off I noticed a hard smell of dirty feet or ass. I tried calling it into u haul and was on hold for a long time before I got through. I was bounced between a few people before I was told the manager would call me. Time of start of rent truck was 9. Came at 9 but was on line. Only one person in counter. Line was big. When I was at counter, then it was 10. The counter told me you can't have more than your designed time but I said I came at 9 but your line was too big such that I reached at 10. The counter person was too rude.Bimit M.
I booked the truck online to pick up at kipling uhaul location in etobicoke. When I went to the place to get the truck, someone has change the pick up location to thornill without consulting me. The lady at kipling location was very helpful, she found the truck I wanted nearby at rexdale uhaul location and she made the reservation in my behalf. At rexdale was great service. Uhaul has to be more organized with the online reservation. The people that I dealt with in person was excellent but the online uhaul people are incompetent.AHMAD M.

Rented 10ft truck on line , appt didnt allow the check marks for to accept rules ! At the desk told 89cents km 7 hours later took me 35mins to do a self check in and reported with picks saying mileage is less than take out . Call got someone in United States as location was closed and still had no idea ! Awful staff at location must say over the phone and in person it's in miles amd US dollars . My final bill was more than what I was told . Say miles in US dollars . Seeing 1,43 $ instead of 0,89 on bill is not right ! This is a canadian location staff must say what to expect ! Customer service was below average at this location. Customer service agent was sounding so rude and was busy talking to someone inside, instead giving preference to cutomer waiting at counter. After that....NO clear instructions about the pick up truck location. When we were struggling to find truck.. another experience ...another lady said check on side...but NO truck was there as per the KEY assigned to us....we were keep on looking ...after struggling we found truck parked at back..behind couple of trucks...we requested same lady..help us to take out the truck...she replied rudly..."you dont know how to take out truck...from back...then how will you drive on road".....she took out the truck for us like, she is doing BIG favour to us...we inspected the truck and found some scratches on body...then i came at customer service to brought in to her knowledge and asked for stickers to put on scraches...she said you can find sticker out side..again NO clear instructions...we found one male person outside and he put some stickers on scraches... Very bad experience...i will not pick this location next move...staff needs some serious customer service training. Forgot to mentioned...when i asked about drop off location ...customer service told me this 800 number 24/7 working i can call them any time...which was not true...800 number working only up to 7 pm...i called many times and just to let you know...no emergency road side assistance was picking either...JAGATDEEP R.

Not location specific but 3 major issues with U-Haul. I booked about a month in advance. 3 days prior you called and said: 1) no 26 foot trucks available only 20. 2) I had to bring truck back to rental location, could no longer drop off where I moved to as I was told I could when I booked. (extra 70Km drive) 3) the location I chose didn't actually do uhaul anymore so I had to drive 30 mins away. Why did the website let my choose it then? I don't understand the point of a reservation if none of the things I requested were available. Initially they also told me the two Dolly's I booked may not be available either, but they were able to find them. Would not likely use uhaul againERIC M.

I've moved into two other self-storage facilities in GTA recently. U-Haul on Rexdale was the best by far. I'm a female. I could not lift the door on the locker in one facility any more than 2 and 1/2 feet. It was hard getting in and out. I vacated my items without even asking for a refund. The other facility didn't bother to clean out the locker before renting. I ended up spending a day purchasing a small broom, and sweeping the entire locker ... I am not comfortable with the locker without having washed the floor, so I keep a box of sanitary wipes in the locker. The security at U-Haul is excellent because access hours are limited, and there appears to be a number of people always around. It is very very very clean and apparently, the lockers are kept in good repair. Furthermore, the staff are very considerate and friendly. The individual who introduced me to the locker initially, took the time to be very explicit and clear in her instructions. If U-Haul on Rexdale, had a locker large enough, I would definitely be staying despite this location being quite a distance from my home in North York.Karen P. | Expérience générale

My only comment is a person blocked direct entrance to the "unloading area". I am a senior citizen and found it difficult to unload my belongings. He didn't move his vehicle to make our job easier.
