We were moving to Urbana Illinois and need to turn our uhaul here and then up needing a storage space they were so helpful not expensive and greatly appreciated customer service

Try having two people at the two person counter who are actually going to wait on customers instead one just sitting playing on their phone trying to pretend to be working on the computer while people are waiting.

Other than that the truck drove really well and met my needs. The person working when I came in was very helpful and friendly. This was one of the best experiences I have had with U-Haul and I will definitely come back to this location of I need a truck or anything else in the future.

Keith A. | Premières impressionsWalk the renter to the vehicle or bring the vehicle to a staging area closer to the front door. Do a walk around with the renter. Look at the milage, explain the lights and anything that is a bit different than driving a "regular" vehicle. Explain the texts the renter will receive, explain the renters responsibilities and steps to take when returning the vehicle. The staff should never assume that the renter knows what to do. Staff should do a walk around upon return and a milage check and a gas tank check with the renter upon return! None of this was done prior to my leaving with the truck or when I returned the truck. The staff may be incredibly thorough, but they were not reassuring ir communicative during pick up or drop off. I know we are movingvtowards a self serve system but having friendly communicative staff guiding the renter through the process is still necessary!
Dora B.I would not recommend this place for long-term storage. The units are not sealed well. There was mice and water damage to some of my items. My dad has had a unit at another facility for over 20 years and has never had either so I know it's possible to prevent. But that has to do with construction, not service. My interactions with the staff were good and they were always helpful.

Donald M.India Murphy was excellent! She got us checked in and taught us how to get into our storage unit with great explanations and directions. After a 10 hour trip to get to the facility my wife and I were very road-weary. India made the entire experience pleasurable and we were able to get unloaded in a very timely manner. India deserves a significant increase in her pay! She is awesome!

There was another customer very upset and the person trying to help didn't have a clue but told us they were tearing down the units and we could not rent. It would be wise for the customer service people on the phone to be advised.

Maisey S. | Expérience généraleThe employee who helped me through the move-in process was great. She was thorough and friendly, and was intent on making sure everything went well. However, the parking spot I rented was not as described. I rented a "10X20X99 RV/BOAT/VEHICLE/PARKING OUTSIDE LEVEL NO CLIMATE NO ELECTRICITY", but the spot was about 20' long, not 99'. The 99' long spot had been impinged on by a box-truck which was taking up two spots. I was able to fit my 25' camper into the 20' spot by overhanging the curb, so it's fine for now - but my future plans involve storing my tow vehicle along with my camper. I would like to move to a spot that's the length descried in the line-item (if possible), or rent a second spot (if I must) some time in the next few months. We live in a university-town, so I imagine that the pressure on storage will be greatly reduced after the university starts in the fall. I will revisit this issue issue after Move In is finished. The current setup works fine for now. Again, I have great things to say about the employee who helped me with the move-in process. She explained everything clearly, and was on-top of the issues and the paperwork, and knew the state of the parking spots and was able to explain the situation to me. She provided great customer service. I will, however, need more great customer service in the future when I need the amount of space I'm being billed for.

The information from the employees at the actual facility in does not line up with what customer service is saying. The Philo street employees are extremely rude and impatient. I'm going to send an email to corporate about this facility because I had the same problem last year. The customer service department was great. Luckily I was able to get a unit and move in but I felt like l had to do this almost a month early because of the confusing information coupled with the rude employees. I'm glad this is the last summer I have to use this place. I will share my very negative experience on social media. They really suck at that location but the facility itself is very nice.

I chose average vs. above average or excellent because the website does not let you know when a storage space is not available anymore. You can make a reservation but it's not guaranteed because multiple people can reserve the same unit and you won't be notified that you don't really have a space until the day you go to secure it, which is the day you need it to be told, that day, that it's not available. This should be corrected on the website ASAP! Otherwise I had a very good experience because things were explained to me. All I can say is don't blame the folks at the local uhaul because it has to be fixed by the people upstairs.

When I actually got there, I was told that the smaller unit was all taken. The only the larger one is available and the manager offered me a discount. If I only leased it during the summer, that would have been fine. But because of Covid, the unit was leased for 15 months more than the anticipated. My suggestion to you is not to lease the unit when you don't have the unit. If you did, you should be able to honor it as the smaller unit price.
