I did the overnight pickup and it was a bit of a lengthy process documenting/inspecting the 26' truck I rented which happened to be severely damaged. The instructions said to disregard damage that already had a black X on it but that covered only about 20 % of the damage on that truck. I spent a solid 35-45 taking photos and writing comments on the app process as I didn't want to be charged for all those damages that didn't have the black X on it. It would have been helpful and appreciated if all this had already been done and not left to the customer (me) to have to do on a cold Thursday night. Lastly, it would help to also have some light for inspecting. My assigned 26' truck was surrounded on both sides by other 26' trucks so that made the inspection process even harder.Marcus E.
i had problems with the app and could not set the gas fuel level to full 20 minutes of trying. this was extremely frustrating on a normal android phone. i'll have to call the facility to make sure they don't bill me for gas that was in the tank.Robert N.

The check engine light came on and the fuel gauge started malfunctioning after about 5-10 miles of driving so I wasn't able to determine wether the truck was filled back to half when I put gas back in.Sheldon W.

Tanya, who picked up and delivered my boxes in Hutto, is exceptional. Earlier than expected. Communicative. Very swift. Very kind. Very much problem solver. I was struggling to situate my cars in a way I thought would be otherwise blocking the delivery. In an instance Tanya assured me it would be no problem. Tanya told me how it would be done in a way that would allow for delivery and be convenient for me.Christopher B.
Your call is never answered by the correct department and it will get transferred several times. Staff is not knowledgeable, will lie, not sure why, about your shipment location, like I call to update my address and they say you can't because delivery is on route and in fact had just being picked up from my house. Didn't ship on time, no explanations, they realized after I called asking where is my stuff. Managers never call back, rude staff in NY, even hung up on me. Horrible service and it's not the cheapest. Do not recommend.Rayner B.

Unable to reach a uhaul rep to make my claim for the damaged goods. Also was 2 days late movers had to be paid for Saturday arrival which never happened and Mondays delivery. Rep was just flippant about having her 2 days off and didn't think it was a problem. She was supposed to pick up the Unix and text me Monday evening and never did. Her response was she was just too busy. She is not to blame for everything, this goes from top down in scheduling and someone should be held accountable for making sure especially when movers are involved that all is planned properly. I felt like since I was a problem my Ubox was purposely mishandled causing damage to my personal belongings. I have pictures to show and movers that were appalled at the condition of my itemsCindy S.

Horrible customer service at the Flugerville location . The manager acted like he had no idea what was going on with my order or his staff. My order was supposed to arrive Saturday and I was charged and the computer showed my scheduled pick up date as Monday. The box never came so we went to the location of the box. The staff were incredibly rude and not very understanding. I was moving from another state and my 5 year old daughter and I literally had to sleep on the floor because of their negligence. The girl at the counter had an attitude at 8:30am. It seemed as if I was bothering her by picking up my rental. She also sat in the office for a solid 5-10 minutes while I was at the counter and only found out she was there because I walked around to find someone. She forgot to give me (and I forgot to ask) for my items that I purchase online when I completed the reservation. I came back to pick up the items in the front office and waited about another 15 minutes for her to walk back into the store. There was another customer waiting for me and no one seemed to care that there were people there. Walked around the property while waiting and saw a couple of employees that still didn't notify anyone that customers were waiting. Terrible service and experience.LUIS D.

We had great experiences with the UHaul staff who we spoke to in the offices both in CA and in TX, and especially great help from the drivers delivering and picking up our Uhaul U-boxes. Really excellent work. Kudos & thanks to those drivers! My only complaint is that we got charged on 9/25 for the next month, even though we were returning our U-boxes on Monday 9/27. It would be really good customer service if you offered a pro-rated payment. We got unpacked and into our new house as quickly as possible after closing, and it sucks to throw 350 $away for 2-3 days extra because of the no prorating policy. It ended up being quite an expensive move. Next time, we'll get rid of more stuff and move a bit less, because for the cost of moving we can replace a lot of furniture and just buy new items in the new location. Overall we had a good experience, though.Lucy R.
My U-Boxes shipped from Monterey, CA to Pflugerville, TX. The boxes shipped late and arrived late. Communication was abysmal the entire time. Nobody was able to tell me why my boxes were shipping so late or when they were going to ship. I received dozens of false promises. When they finally did ship, I wasn't notified until 3 days afterward. Nobody could tell me when they would arrive. At one point I got a phone call telling me they would arrive 7 days later than promised, and then I got another phone call telling me they had already arrived 2 days ago. Nobody could give me a straight answer as to whether they had or hadn't arrive or where they were. Some people told me they had already been in Pflugerville for several days. Some people told me they were still en route. In the end I was never notified when they had arrived; I had to call and ask before they said "Oh yeah, they've already arrived!" When it came time for the Moving Help to pick up my boxes, U-Haul's system sent them to the wrong location, so our Moving Help had to delay 2 more days because the correct location was closed. In the end we had to go an entire month without our things and my wife cried nearly daily because of the stress of not knowing when we would get our things or where they were. I spent a total of nearly 10 hours on the phone with various U-Haul reps, and none of them could figure out what was going on. This was a horrible experience. Honestly the worst moving experience I ever had. I will definitely never use U-Box again.Phil K.

I rented a 5x15 unit but the door to the unit was probably 2 feet wide. You couldn't even fit a couch through that door. If you rent a 5 foot unit you expect it to be 5 feet wide to get into it. The entrance was ridiculously narrow. Also it was very unclear how we retrieved the key to lock the unit. I got there the day I said I would but there was a zip tie on the door. I never received Instructions on how to open it or how to get the key. When leaving we had no idea how to get out since the gate it also closed from the outside. I had to get out of the car and go open the gate from the outside then drive through. We canceled our rental the next day and got a refund. Pod was 1 day late, 24 hr notice to unload pod was never stated, just that access was on the 17th, couldn't accessed until 18th. Supposed to get it at 9am, went in and they said two. Rather than returning trucks with the same level of fuel it left the uhaul location with, customers should receive trucks with a full tank and return with a fuel tank. Just a suggestion. I did like how I received the truck with less than 1/4 tank and got a credit to return the truck with 1/4 tank.John M.

I was expecting first month free because I rented a uhaul trailer but the assistant said I find the qualify because I wasn't returning the trailer there. I asked if I could return it there and she said no because they weren't accepting trailers. She shrugged her shoulders and said it's hit and miss. I was very impressed with the help from Adrian Herrera who provided great information regarding directions & what's around & routes to take (I've not yet learned the area) and made the entire process super fast & super easy. Absolutely miserable experience. This was a military move. A salesperson gave me incorrect advice on a recorded line. I lost 3 500 $in military reimbursement due to the lack of knowledge of staff. I asked if something could be done a certain way and they said yes, then didn't do it. Next, the pods arrived a day late, then 8 hours late on the second projected day.Katherine M.

Location closed at 5. I arrived slightly before 5 and unhooked the equipment where I was told at pick up. It was 5:04 when I went to the front to check it in. Lights were off, locked, looked like a ghost town. I would have thought they would have stuck around since they saw me returning it. Not the location but the uhaul system. We rented from a spot in Georgetown from the website. It was confirmed by email. I double checked for uhaul emailed before we went to pick up the truck and only found my initial confirmation. We drove out to Greorgetown and the shop was closed for 3 weeks. Uhaul moved our reservation to another city and did not tell us. We had to drive another 30 minutes to pick it up. I called uhaul to ask for a discount on miles since we were not notified and the new location was even farther away. They said they would apply it and did not in the final billing. I understand things change, but if you can send me 3 emails reminding me to buy boxes I don't need, the least you can do is email, text and call to tell me my confirmation email for the reservation set up through your corporate website has changed locations.Patrick G.
The service at the locations was great and the staff was friendly. The customer service in between these was poor. Though the staff was continually friendly, I am appalled that in all the number of times I called to check the progress of my boxes, not one person was alarmed that the boxes had not been shipped. This poor communication came from the staff not understanding that the boxes needed longer than one day to ship and when it was confirmed they'd be late, I was told it was because of a â€œglitchâ€. It is absolutely unacceptable that I called 7 times without a single person realizing this glitch. There are many things that need to be improved on your end before I ever recommend this service.Sarah S.
They did not make sure the unit was ready to be rented. The wire protection cover was on the floor the light bulb was broken off in the fixture exposing the inside of the bulb. When I asked to have it replaced before moving my belongings into the unit I was told that there was no one to do it. They did not offer to give me a different unit that didn't have this issue. I had scheduled moving help by the hour with U-Haul and had move into the unit that day at that time. I received an email asking me to rate the storage facility that evening and then I received a text message to rate the facility. I thought I would call the manager who's name was on the e-mail and text message to see what he do about the situation before I wrote the review/rating. I called the next day and spoke to the manager. Instead of apologizing for the situation or trying to correct it. He just said the maintenance crew was only there Monday to Friday till 11am and for me to come at that time to have it fixed. When I told him that half of the unit would have to be unloaded now for it to be fixed he then told me that U-Haul was removing all the lights inside the units and that they no longer felt lighting was necessary. So I could come at the time he told me to have it fixed. But I guess it was my problem about moving my belongings in order for maintenance to so. He claimed no responsibility to the fact that he rented me the unit with this issue and that now it was my problem not his. This is an inside unit not an outside unit that when you open the door you have the daylight to be able to see while in the unit. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service by the unit having this issue and not rental ready and no customer service at the time of move in or after the move in to take care of it. When I was getting the storage unit, your website said that if we were renting equipment that we would get a month free. I input the reservation number for the trailer that my husband made for the trailer and it said it was invalid. He did rent the trailer. When he asked your employee about it in the store when renting the trailer, she replied with "I've literally never heard of that, we don't have any discounts, your rent is 89,95 a month, do you want it?" Not only was this not what your website told me when I rented it but it was extremely rude. Then when he returned the trailer the employee checking it is came around on a skateboard and said they didn't have a trailer scheduled to come back to which he replied, oh well I don't make enough f*ing money to care, it will be my managers problem. Online rental process was super quick and easy. When I got there to drop off my stuff I popped into the storefront and an employee gave me good, simple directions to help me find my unit. After unloading everything the same employee was very helpful getting me a gate remote to make my upcoming visits easier. My only constructive criticism I have is the inability to contact the staff by phone at this location and lack of follow up to messages left by my or the UHaul rollover call center staff. I understand that Anthony Tompkins works there by himself most of the time. And perhaps that needs to be addressed so customers (past, present, future) can speak with him directly about critical or timely concerns. Or perhaps the main UHaul customer service line could have access to current availability at any of their locations across the USA. Other wise Anthony Tompkins has mastered all the information & operational knowledge of the Steeds Crossing UHaul facility, and possesses and practices great customer service skills.Kathy F. | Premières impressions
