My primary concern is that the Pflugerville warehouse for holding U-Boxes filled with people's belongings is not climate controlled. In Texas, during the Summer. The U-Box concept is great. The U-Haul employees I worked with in person were great. But the corporate side--customer service, website, scheduling, ordering, notifications, etc.--was pretty poor.Danny C.

I returned the truck to the return section that states stay with your vehicle someone will be with you shortly. I waited 10 mins then went to the garage area and asked if anyone was going to help me and they said I had to go in to check out. Then asked if I had the key and I said no the sign says keep the key with the vehicle. I walk in the door and a girl looks up from her phone and sees the truck in the monitor and say you are good to go. I guess the signs and not what you should follow.DANIEL C.

When making the reservation, the manager decided that I didn't really need to rent the truck for the full time requested. It was not an issue of availability, because I called and extended the additional day I needed with no problem. This created extra steps for me to take so that I could be a paying customer for another day. This location acts like they are doing you a favor by renting to you at all. Not customer oriented service at all. The people behind the counter when I turned the truck in were very courteous and friendly.ADAM D.

This was a meeting of the J's. Jacob, Jordan, and Jose. Together we rented a truck, used it to move people, and then turned it in. Sounds simpleâ€¦ oh no. This was a day of epic proportions. When I came to pick up the truck there were several employees standing around, it wasn't busy. They didn't bother to pull the truck up for me and I had to walk around the entire building and search the truck numbers until I found it. Additionally, they didn't put the furniture pads in the truck initially, so I had to drive it around to load those in. Comes across lazy.Richard A.

This location makes plenty of money simply based on location and user needs, however, they are consistently looking to overcharge and cheat clients. This is my 3rd issue. First, they billed me for 3 gallons of gas even though I put the gas back to the level of the rental AND had the pictures to prove it. I was refunded after making a complaint. Secondly, they refused to alter the price of a rental that was reserved for cross country but due to car trouble, the rented vehicle was returned much closer to the rental location. U-haul eventually refunded me the difference. Now, I am being billed for additional fees for tolls, however, the fees they are requesting through Collections are $11 in administration fees charged on every single toll on the same day and trip that was billed to U-haul on a single bill. U-haul wasn't billed a $1 fee in addition to every toll, yet U-haul is charging me a fee.on every single toll. The total in $1 administrative fees is nearly double the actual toll charges. First of all they switched locations, gave us a vehicle that barely ran, kept turn off, insisted it be back prior to 3pm then charged us way more than reservation email along with a 25 dollar cleaning fee!!! Yes we said something but they didn't care. Do not use this locations!MANUEL M.
The sound of the truck was enormous. I could not believe the sound of the exhaust right behind the driver. It is clear the vehicle has an exhaust leak, manifold leak due to the sound I was hearing. This vehicle needs repair before rented out again. Long boring drive to endure this sound!Carl C.

Very disappointing experience. I reserved well in advance a 2 handcarts and appliance dolly only to be told they have been all rented out even though i paid in advance and reserved them. I was also told the truck was 1/4 tank full. Shouldnt it be full? It was on E displaying 6 miles left. I took pics and plan to post on yelp. I would hate for someone else to experience the setbacks we did when we were planning to avoid them. Due to having to pay extra for gas and no appliance cart, this created a major setback and more money to get moved by a certain time.Luisa S.

The dolly I ordered wasn't in the truck. And when I tried to call, they said because my brother was the driver that he had to call even though I paid for it. The trailer itself worked but was kinda raggedy. Today was just a more complicated and stressful process than it needed to be. Brianna, the customer service representative, was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL. Please coach her on better customer service skills. You do not throw keys when a customer hands them to you. She also had a noticeable attitude when speaking and was rude to her manager who was sitting beside her. If a customer asks to take pictures of the returned uhaul for their records, then they should be allowed to. Brianna needs to work on her tone and consider looking for a new job.Monique K.
One of the employees told me my card wasn't working because I didn't have the money. I was using my cash app card because I lost my debit card during the move and gave me the â€œyou're broke and IDCâ€ attitude. It was one of the women that worked Saturday, August 20th around 2:30-3PM. It was not the new hire, or the woman with red hair, it was the other female employee at the desk. Moving is hard enough. The customer service was outstanding , the truck however although in good running condition, it had a leak over the driver's side which drained profusely during the pop-up storms that I ran into 3 times during my move. It would have been nice if the condition of the truck in terms of a leak or the possibility of a leak during the rain would have been extremely helpful. Because I was moving alone, I simply didn't have the time to swap the truck out...so I just had to endure the 3 x' s that I got caught in the rain. Regards, Levi R.levi R.

I will never use this location again. I filled out the agreement online. When I got to the office, several changes had been made to it. Charges were added. Had I not read everything, I would have been charged. So, it took forever to check in. I have rented several U Haul trucks for local and long trips (out of state). I have always had a full tank to start my trip. Less than 1/4 tank of gas so had to go to the gas station before even starting my trip. Guy waiting on me was awful (in training, but with no supervision, and I didn't know this until I returned the truck!) He gave me a key and told me to go to the back parking lot and find the truck. Dirty truck. Crack in front windshield. Dents everywhere. Front passenger seat safety bag was not connected. A nice lady came out to help (found out later when I returned the truck that she was the cleaning lady). So all the pics I took (gas, dents, filth, etc) needed to be uploaded to my contract, but I wasn't told this until I returned the truck. So they said I couldn't document anything. The 3 people in the office when I returned the truck were very unprofessional and rude. They wouldn't give me their names, so I took their pictures. I could go on with more information, but I will NEVER use this location again!Connie G.

I returned the equipment on 8/15/2022, a day ahead of time. I pulled up to the area where there was a sign that said to stop and remain in the vehicle and someone would come out to assist. After waiting for 20 minutes I went inside to find 2 female employees laughing and joking. Though I feel a happy work environment is good, it should not be at the expense of customer service. I was not greeted when I came in and stood there in front of the employees waiting for them to acknowledge me. They did not until I stated I had a trailer to return. They asked my last name and then told me to pull the trailer around to the front where all the other trailers were parked and to find an empty spot, and she would come out to unhook the trailer. I was a bit taken aback by the shortness of the employee. I exited the building and pulled around to the area she referred to. There were no available spots, so I just parked in front of all the rest of the trailers. I again waited about 5 minutes and no one came out to unhook the trailer, so I did it myself. As I was getting back into my car, she drove by on a golf cart and stated she would email me the receipt, but didn't even stop the golf cart to do so. I don't know if UHAUL provides any level of customer service training for their employees, but I have to say that it's either not a priority or not provided at all. This experience was a deplorable example of customer service and apparent that this location has no desire to engage with customers in an appropriate manner.Jess B.
Almost all of my interaction with the U-Haul location in Pflugerville was on-line. That was not a problem. Getting the U-Box to our location and loading became the problem because of the communication issues between us and the moving labor we contracted with through the U-Haul Website. Once we got the labor to our location we were very happy with the final result. U-Hual needs to stress communication between the renters and the moving company. I believe that will alleviate a number of the complaints you may recieve.Richard V.

This was the worst uhaul experience I've ever had! I originally rented thru Round Rock location. I got a text it had been moved to G-town, Bastrop, then off of 290. I revived a call making sure I was coming. I said yes and was on my way, 30 mins later I get there and the man said they cancelled my reservations. I should him where a got the call and I told them I was on my way. He said He couldn't do anything about it. We then look and rent one from Pflugerville, the man called them to make sure and even called me while I was driving there and said I shouldn't have any issues! Once I got there they didn't have my 20' that they said was there! I had to settle for a 15'. When I got it, There was no gas in the uhaul. It took me over 3 hours to get this uhaul and lots of gas driving to different locations!Jason M.

The rental online was quick and easy. The personnel at the pickup location were nice and efficient. The trailer was a little dirty and had a bad odor inside. The safety chains didn't fit my hitch properly but no harm done. The trailer performed well and the return after hours online procedure was quick and easy. Overall a good experience!Mark R.
I would suggest if a customer rents the appliance dolly that the other dolly is removed from the truck to save space. I was told that the employee are not allowed to remove the smaller dolly from the trucks or they would be fired. So I was forced to have 2 dollys on my truck and had to ensure space on the truck for the second dolly for each trip we took. Very inconvenient.Dwayne H.

It was horrible experience. They supposed to ship my ubox on august 1st but they did not schedule anything and never provide phone call. I called local uhaul and they kept getting transfer me to other representative. I had to go by myself and pick up.Jiwon S.
Simply the worst. Hopefully we don't have to use uhaul again. Our ubox was supposed to be delivered to three rd location. checked with customer service AND employees at the actual location. They confirmed it will be delivered to three rd uhaul location. Was hard to reach to fm rd locationd and went straight to national line. NO ONE NOTIFIED US THAT OUR UBOX WILL STAY AT FM RD LOCATION. I had to call and figured it out. Called the location again to reserve 10' truck, no answer, and went to national line customer service. Asked them if we can get access to ubox at 3pm since uhaul third party movers were not available until 4pm. They said yes and reserve one â€œat 3.â€ Showed up and they said it was canceled because it was reserved at noon. SO MUCH MISCOMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE LOCATIONS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. Please train your employees right please please. We had to wait for our ubox for a week more because they don't know how to communicate.Brenda A.

We did not receive an accurate delivery time. And notice was provided 5 minutes before delivery. Also, the associate at 670 W Front at location in Pflugerville tx lied regarding us not being able to access our container. We verified a time and date with uhaul and he said â€œyour container is already on a truck ready to ship and we cannot allow you to access it.â€ When we arrived. I took him at his word and noticed via a tracking device placed in the box by us that it did not move from that location for the next 48 hours. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will be following up to see how we can be compensated for this act of dishonesty. The inability to access the box caused massive inconveniences for our move.Joseph N.

Overall, service was actually excellent and the trailer performed excellently. However, the morning of pick up, the pick up location was changed due to lack of inventory at the original pick up location and I was not notified. I had a very narrow window to pick up the trailer, so when I arrived and discovered I'd have to drive another 15 minutes to another location, I didn't have enough time to get there and had to go back to work and figure out a way to come back later in the day. Adjustments are totally understandable, but the lack of communication cost me critical move time and disrupted our move schedule. We were managing 2 small children and work schedules while trying to pack up our home.michael A.

WORST move with U-Haul EVER. I have moved dozens of times, most of the time with U-Haul. This time was different. I reserved the moving truck online but had to edit my reservation. No problem, right?? NOPE, huge problem. The online reservation system does not tell that if you edit a reservation, it moves from guaranteed to preferred. Ok, first of all, what the hell does preferred mean? Would I prefer to have a truck or not or U-Hual has preferred not to provide a truck?? My reservation was set at least a couple weeks before my move date, 7/29/22. Keep in mind while editing a reservation, the online portal does tell you that some locations do not have the equipment you are requesting and that rep will call you. I made sure not to select one of those. At no time during this process was I prompted telling me my reservation was not guaranteed. Fast forward, 9 am Friday 7/29, I get a call from Anthony saying that there is no truck for me to pickup at 3 pm that day. But there will be one on Saturday at 1 pm. I ask Anthony, why are you just calling me, what can I do about this now? I am moving today! He says he just got the reservation notification. I ask, well I need a truck today I have to be out by tomorrow. SO he says, I have a 10 ft instead of the 20 ft I reserved. It took my wife, two kids and I over 20 hrs to move a 2 800 sq ft home with a 10 ft truck. I am so disappointed in the service I received. Anthony was no help at all and could not tell me why I was not notified earlier.Derrick A.

Great place for rats and mice to live. Bathroom privileges provided, courtesy of Uhaul Steeds. Can only hope we don't get a fatal disease. Of course, not notified of rat and mice issue until actual move out. Employees were completely aware. Told to make insurance claim. What fun to go through all of the red tape. Would've been right to give a full and unconditional refund for two month storage and the two times use of truck. Not to mention the cost of the expensive fuel. Fix the problem Uhaul. I rented a 5x15 unit but the door to the unit was probably 2 feet wide. You couldn't even fit a couch through that door. If you rent a 5 foot unit you expect it to be 5 feet wide to get into it. The entrance was ridiculously narrow. Also it was very unclear how we retrieved the key to lock the unit. I got there the day I said I would but there was a zip tie on the door. I never received Instructions on how to open it or how to get the key. When leaving we had no idea how to get out since the gate it also closed from the outside. I had to get out of the car and go open the gate from the outside then drive through. We canceled our rental the next day and got a refund. I was expecting first month free because I rented a uhaul trailer but the assistant said I find the qualify because I wasn't returning the trailer there. I asked if I could return it there and she said no because they weren't accepting trailers. She shrugged her shoulders and said it's hit and miss. They did not make sure the unit was ready to be rented. The wire protection cover was on the floor the light bulb was broken off in the fixture exposing the inside of the bulb. When I asked to have it replaced before moving my belongings into the unit I was told that there was no one to do it. They did not offer to give me a different unit that didn't have this issue. I had scheduled moving help by the hour with U-Haul and had move into the unit that day at that time. I received an email asking me to rate the storage facility that evening and then I received a text message to rate the facility. I thought I would call the manager who's name was on the e-mail and text message to see what he do about the situation before I wrote the review/rating. I called the next day and spoke to the manager. Instead of apologizing for the situation or trying to correct it. He just said the maintenance crew was only there Monday to Friday till 11am and for me to come at that time to have it fixed. When I told him that half of the unit would have to be unloaded now for it to be fixed he then told me that U-Haul was removing all the lights inside the units and that they no longer felt lighting was necessary. So I could come at the time he told me to have it fixed. But I guess it was my problem about moving my belongings in order for maintenance to so. He claimed no responsibility to the fact that he rented me the unit with this issue and that now it was my problem not his. This is an inside unit not an outside unit that when you open the door you have the daylight to be able to see while in the unit. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service by the unit having this issue and not rental ready and no customer service at the time of move in or after the move in to take care of it. When I was getting the storage unit, your website said that if we were renting equipment that we would get a month free. I input the reservation number for the trailer that my husband made for the trailer and it said it was invalid. He did rent the trailer. When he asked your employee about it in the store when renting the trailer, she replied with "I've literally never heard of that, we don't have any discounts, your rent is 89,95 a month, do you want it?" Not only was this not what your website told me when I rented it but it was extremely rude. Then when he returned the trailer the employee checking it is came around on a skateboard and said they didn't have a trailer scheduled to come back to which he replied, oh well I don't make enough f*ing money to care, it will be my managers problem. Online rental process was super quick and easy. When I got there to drop off my stuff I popped into the storefront and an employee gave me good, simple directions to help me find my unit. After unloading everything the same employee was very helpful getting me a gate remote to make my upcoming visits easier. There was only one person working when we came in on Saturday morning. While the employee was very friendly and helpful once we were able to engage with her, there was a long line when we first got in, which continue to grow while we were there. She did not address the people in line let us know that she would be with us monetarily. It does seem as though she could've use some additional assistance, or just being more responsive to a line forming. She informed us that our unit should have put a lock in it, but there was no lock. When we went back to let her know this, she was still with another group and there was still a long line, so we gave up. The outdoor drive-up option wasn't available so I got an indoor climate controlled and it was nearly impossible to figure it out. Their simple 1-2-3 process didn't work at all for the indoor facilities. After it took me 20 minutes to find my garages, I set off the alarms because I didn't know I had to check it at a specific box, and since I did it all online, I don't have the handy swipe card that others use to check in and out EVERY TIME I go to load stuff in and out of there.Connie S. | Online Move In

Customer service-Bad Gave away our trailer rental after taking my card to reserve. Did not tell me that I had to be there at a certain time or they would give away. Why use my card to reserve. Was told that I would have a unit with outside accessibility....wrong. Told me that they would charge me a trash fee when I put 3 empty boxes in dumpster. Told me to buy my own lock...only to find out that I was required to use their lock. Not a good way to run a business. My only constructive criticism I have is the inability to contact the staff by phone at this location and lack of follow up to messages left by my or the UHaul rollover call center staff. I understand that Anthony Tompkins works there by himself most of the time. And perhaps that needs to be addressed so customers (past, present, future) can speak with him directly about critical or timely concerns. Or perhaps the main UHaul customer service line could have access to current availability at any of their locations across the USA. the only con was the door to the outside, although we have a bigger unit (10x15x8) the door to the outside of storage building was a standard sized door and made it difficult to bring in our fridge, sofa, washer/dryer. I was paying to for my personal property to be stored and secured. instead the main gate to the storage area and covered parking was always breaking down and open for anyone to enter. not enough security cameras and lighting in storage area but plenty of lighting to protect uhaul equipment parked around office building. I had two thefts from my recreational vehicle totaling $400 dollars and when reported to uhual employees didn't care or make an attempt to assist. My travel trailer was damaged twice by attempted break-ins and theft of both propane tanks! Security cameras are 720p and NOT pointed toward the customers trailers. The 1080p cameras are all aimed toward the U-Haul vehicles and equipment. Customer vehicle safety appears to be secondary! Oh yes, Even though the very desirable covered RV sites will be rented quickly, no rebate for time unused even when rented to another customer the next day.
