To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my extreme frustration and disappointment with the service I received from U-Haul on Saturday, which has caused major inconvenience, unexpected costs, and ongoing financial hardship. I reserved a truck and a storage unit in advance, planning carefully around your guaranteed reservation system. Prepaid for the entire reservation in advance. However, when I arrived at the first pickup location at 8:30 AM, the facility was closed. There were no staff present and no vehicle available despite having a confirmed reservation. I was then forced to drive to three additional locations before finally being assisted - and at every stop, I encountered unacceptable customer service, including rude and unprofessional behavior. Additionally: • The dolly I prepaid for was not provided, and the treatment we received from staff over this was shocking and disrespectful. • The storage unit included with my reservation was not the correct facility. The location assigned was not only wrong - it was an outdoor parking facility with no staff on-site, completely unsuitable. • After calling around, I was told the closest available storage unit was in Goodyear, far from where I live. Because of U-Haul's mistake, I had to transport all my belongings across the valley, costing additional time, fuel, and labor. • The contract clearly showed the storage unit at $80/month, with the first month free, yet the Goodyear location is telling me the monthly rate will be over $200 - which was not agreed upon and would never have been accepted. This situation has caused unnecessary stress, travel, delays, and financial burden - all due to U-Haul's failure to honor the confirmed reservation and provide correct information. At minimum, I expect U-Haul to: 1. Honor the original contracted price of $80/month for my storage unit without exception, 2. Cover the cost of a new truck rental and assist in relocating my belongings to a storage facility near my home (as originally booked), and 3. Provide appropriate compensation for the significant inconvenience, unprofessional treatment, and hours of wasted time spent resolving U-Haul's errors. I trusted U-Haul because of your reputation for reliability, and this experience was the opposite.which is a shame because I planned on using your company regularly as I have need of a rental truck on a regular basis. I would like a prompt response within 7 business days confirming how this will be corrected. I look forward to resolving this quickly and professionally. Thank you. Additional equipment reserved weeks in advance with the truck were not available. Disappointing level of staff caring about the situation. They did locate some of it at another location nearby. Lucked out moving help had enough to get the job done in time line. Process to ensure additional equipment is available that was requested in advance seems to have issues.

This was actually an alternative drop off point. The first drop off point which was 25 miles out of my way, could not accept the drop off since limited space so the Tempe location was next choice. Should have been first choice to start since I asked for closes drop off point from my destination.

I was charged for 2 gallons of fuel on my final receipt after I returned the truck, despite the fact I returned it with the same amount of fuel it had when I picked it up, if not more. I called later that day and asked to correct the issue. I was told they'd look into it and give me a call back, but they never did.

The pick up process was quick. The Team at the desk was nice. I dropped a star, because the truck I got is pretty old. It Was a little bit of a fight to drive, but it got us through our move. All in all, I'd rent from this location again.

I rented a 6x12 enclosed trailer to move some furniture and cabinets. The trailer's running lights on 1 side did not work but worse, after getting to our pickup location, the trailer door wouldn't open. After an hour delay trying to get the door open and finally getting it open and then after completely loading the trailer, the door would not close. After another couple hours completely repacking and strapping everything down, we were finally able to get on the road (3 hours late). Unfortunately while on the highway one of the new tie-down straps broke and we lost part of our furniture onto the highway since there was no door or anything to prevent things from just falling out. After another 2 hours cleaning up the debris and resecuring the remaining load we continued. The trailer we rented was a complete unmaintained horrible rental trailer that should have never been rented out. I stopped renting from this store years ago because of poorly maintained or dirty equipment and normally rent from a different U-Haul location, but my usual location didnt have the trailer available so I gave this store another try. The day that everything occurred I asked that the manager of the store call me and received no call. The day I returned the trailer I also asked that the manager call me and still have received no call. After over 20 years of renting from u-haul, this is probably my worst experience to date. I do not recommend renting from this store!

The only scam I got when I did my reservation I was told the charge per mile is 99 cents then during picking up the truck I found out I was over charged . Per mile $ 1,29 I would appreciate it if you guys take it seriously and refund my money. Thanks

Representatives did not assist well in loading my vehicle into the trailer, guiding me up off center where passenger side front wheel off off the 2x8 boards put in place to keep front of car from hitting the trailer wheel stop. Tire half on half off 2x8. Boards put in place as per U-Haul video How To Load Low Clearance Vehicle. Representatives would not assist reloading the car to center it and stated they knew nothing of the Low Clearance video and they said boards were not supposed to be used. Representatives were rude and not at all customer friendly.Had to drive vehicle and trailer to U-Haul location where reservation was made to get proper assistance in recentering vehicle. I would never return to Tempe Town Lake location.

The person that set me up never secured the break chain for the 6 x 12. When it was full the break pulled on me and it perked my truck really hard . I looked under my truck in the rear and there was liquid coming from.the rear suspension and now it bounces everywhere. I'm going to jeed to file a claim now since it's only getting worse. I used to work with uhaul, I thought I could trust the proper steps were followed. Lesson learned.

I have no idea. The damn truck ran like a 4 cylinder.....seriously....15 dollars for 60 miles? Full load 1 way and empty on the return? That is insanely good. Never had to get on the gas at all....like...Its been so long....I forgot how well Uhaul takes care of those trucks...super impressive on the gas mileage and ability to move like a regular vehicle. Merci.

Uhaul needs to put a red or yellow strip on the top of the door edge, I hit my head hard enough when I stood up and blacked out, and still may have a neck injury from it. The top aluminum of the trailer blends in with the sky and it is not detected when your loading it

Unacceptable Safety Hazard with Auto Transport Rentals For the price customers are paying to rent auto transports, it is completely unacceptable that the ratchet straps are in such dangerous condition. The ratchets are rusted, skip teeth, and often fail to function properly-posing a serious risk of injury. This is now the fourth time I've rented one of these trailers and ended up hurting my wrist while trying to tighten the strap over a tire. When the ratchet skips a tooth or suddenly pops, it slams your hand into the vehicle's bumper with significant force. It's not just frustrating-it's dangerous. If there were more reliable rental options available, I would never come back, because the equipment provided continues to be unsafe and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, most of the onsite staff (with the exception of the helpful employee I spoke with today) show little concern about whether this equipment is functioning safely. Customers should not be risking injury due to neglected, malfunctioning equipment. This issue demands immediate attention.

Fantastic service! Had a couple of changes that were handled well. Y'all have a solid team. Rented a trailer a couple of years ago from Austin TX. It was stolen. Had no idea they didn't have, or needed locks on the hitch. I was bummed and unhappy I had to drive back to Kansas City, a few days later to get trailer, without all my "$3K of borrowed" tools. This latest experience renewed my faith in U-Haul! Bravo!

Vehicle was in poor shape, steering wheel was rotted/crumbling around edges. AC only worked when Vehicle was at freeway speeds, entire interior and AC smelled like cigarettes. Drivers door didn't seal, had constant wind noise. Drivers visor mount was missing, and visor constantly hung/fell down into windshield blocking driver view. Headliner was loose and or had broken mounts, and hung down as well at front and blocked view of traffic lights

The entire experience was stressful. I was told by the U-Haul phone rep that the storage unit would be bigger than the U-Box but it was not. I don't believe the space is big enough. I will find out soon enough. Topher went above and beyond the call of duty, and knew what he was doing. He showed patience and grace towards me and my son.

Like usual, always happy with my U-Haul experiences, the young lady who were believe her name was Kayla who helped me take care of a previous issue. That was my fault with a reservation. She took care of that problem and made my entire move-in process go very smoothly me out with a lock in the gate and a couple other things.

Asked for a climate controlled unit. When I arrived after office hours to move in I realized it was not climate controlled. I was in a bind and had to go ahead and move my things in the unit I was assigned. I have not been able to stop by during business hours to discuss the issue.

Could definitely use more safe. I had to be sent to another location to get my auto transport taken off because there was only 1 employee and she said she wouldn't be able to do it for me she referred me to the Apache location.

Jazmine was Awesome. I had a very tough time with Uhaul with this rental. I rented a 15' truck and tow dolly combination from Las Vegas NV to Tempe Az. I was told I would receive 1 FREE month of Storage, they gave me a place to do that. Except when I went there, the gentleman that worked there said they have never offer the free month rentals. I was originally supposed to return the truck to Tempe, then it changed to Scottsdale, then it got switched to Phoenix which was 25 miles away ( the truck got 7-8 miles a gallon at $4,25 a gallon). I called the 800 number and they told me to go to this store at 800 N McClintock Dr in TEMPE. That is where I met Jazmine. I was getting upset with Uhaul because of all the running around they were making me do. She was happy to get me the free month of storage ( I had to get renters insurance, $7,95 a month). She told me to call Uhaul again and see if they would switch my return to her store instead of me having to drive 25 minutes. She made my experience a lot better. She did an amazing job. Merci

Had multiple issues with management and having a kick half cut off and not able to get into my unit to get my passport could never get a hold of the manager and was just charged for a full month despite being moved out and forgot to call and would not get a refund for the month I was just charged for. Very unhappy abs will never recommend again

Storage unit door was never fixed even after reporting it to the office. Extremely hard to open it - rubber on bottom of door hanging off it and door itself very difficult to lift open. Difficult to maneuver in and out of facility due to too much rental equipment blocking driveways in out and inside facilities.

This is hands down the worst storage facility experience I've ever had. Staff wasn't helpful. Are storage door was really damaged and when we told them they just ignored it. Also my storage was broken into and nobody ever really helped out. When I called corporate to find out the status of my situation. They had not been informed of what had happened. Apparently the employee that reported the incident never properly informed corporate about the incident. I'm very disappointed in how uhaul chose to handle this situation. It appears to me that this was a inside job because whoever broke into my storage knew my code and only targeted my unit. No other unit was broken into. So no I will not ever recommend this place to anyone.

Regarding the Mcclintock storage: NEGATIVE STARS for management communication. I had a storage locker for my child who attends ASU. I was driving through Tempe to collect the stuff and return home. All I wanted to know was if my gate card had a numerical code in which I could use if the card did not work. That's all. A thirty second phone call. I called the McClintock phone number three times, each time on different days, at different hours as it said while on hold they were "busy". Really? That busy? They couldn't answer it and say we are slammed busy, we'll be right there to help you. Each time I was on hold for more than 15 minutes. NO ONE picked up or picks up the phone. After the 15 minutes of holding I was then transferred to a national call center who told me they left messages for the manager or employees at Mcclintock to call me back. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. NOT AN EMAIL. NOT A TEXT. NOTHING. It's always funny how a business is happy to take your money but when it comes time for customer support everyone just happens to be busy. If I was late on my payment, managers/employees find the time for late fees and collection centers. My final time I called, I stayed I hold yet again for yes, you guess it 15 minutes. And yes, I was transferred one more time. This time though it was to Neferti Hernandez. She took my information and even emailed and texted the McClintock manager to contact me through email, phone or text. Once again. NO ONE did. They couldn't give me 30 seconds of their time. Now If I were to give Neferti Hernandez a rating: 50 STARS. Yes fifty. I hope this email or response finds a way to her manager as she deserves praise. Uhaul is beyond lucky to have a polite, considerate, friendly, responsible person who was competent. I could write 100 more positive adjectives about her. The manager at McClintock should call Neferti Hernandez and learn how 2 minutes of being helpful goes a long way. Manager at McClintock Uhaul, please remember, you are not the only storage facility in Tempe. In business, you're only as good as your last job. You make hard working people like Neferti look bad. She did her job, you need to step up and do yours.

This facility needs major work as far as customer service is concerned. Every time I called the facility, no one answered the phone and I would be automatically connected to the corporate office. Living out of state temporarily and being unable to connect with the office staff where my storage unit was, made for a very uneasy feeling and had me constantly worried, until just yesterday when I was able to clean and close out my unit. Tony, the previous manager, was the best employee this location had. I would never recommend this location in general, whether it be for a moving truck, storage facilities or even moving supplies, to anyone I know, as I would hate anyone I know to feel the way I had. Best of luck to this location and it's dire need of quality customer service skills.

Everything with you guys has been great till we got their Friday to empty the unit. Two guys working on Friday 8/14 around noon were beyond rude , not helpful, and very unprofessional. My son, Sean went to the counter politely told the two guys that he left his key at home (in California) could they help him get into his unit. One guy looked at the other guy rude and sarcastic and said "what can we do? " They pretty much said we can't help you at ALL period. My son asked can a locksmith help? Can you recommend a locksmith if so? They said" No " and "No"... Just rude and unprofessional. Then, when I stepped up they said it's a liability. That is fine to me, but I'm sure they've been in this situation before and could of had a different approach and been more helpful.. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't want these two being the face of my business. Makes your business look very bad! I would think twice about getting rid of these two.

the staff treated me badly and when i told the employee. he continued on with the bad behavior. the supervisor was right there and did not step in and take over. i don't like the way i was treated and while i was moving out of my storage unit at this location.i felt nothing worst then to be treated badly as you are moving out. the employees just don't know how to talk to people. i will not use this uhaul location again.

I kept on receiving notice of not paying when u received a free month. I called twice and still got emails including my amount due and late fee. Even after calling we were told we left the lock on it. This is not true because I have the lock in the glove box of my Honda. We had trouble opening the door and even got locked out of it.
