The rental was a one-way booking that involved traveling over 3000 miles and yet when I collected the truck it had a quarter of a tank of gas. The truck had 155,000 miles and was not suited for such a trip. When I had to call roadside assistance after just 5 hours of driving the mechanic had to fill the truck with oil as it was very low. So I was given a truck with very little gas and oil for a journey of over 3000 miles, That is NOT worthy of a good review. The truck had a major breakdown in the middle of Wyoming resulting in me losing a full 24 hours which meant having to reschedule hotels that were booked in advance along the route. Overall this was not a suitable truck for such a journey and is the reason I will never use or recommend Uhaul again.

No furniture dollies available for rent. I specified that I needed one in my online reservation and was not told that they didn’t have them until I reached the store. Since I was moving furniture that would have been good to know beforehand. It also didn’t help that there was a display of furniture dollies ‘for sale only’ visible from the counter. If you’re going to say that you don’t have any, at least don’t be within arms reach of 4 of them.

The appliance dollie had a weld that came loose. It cut my hand pretty bad. I think it's infected. When I told the U-Haul rep he took off the charge for the dollie ($10). He also put a comment that the weld was an existing issue. If this is true you probably should not be rented again until fixed. I'm not sure $10 makes me feel good about my infected hand especially if U-Haul rented it to me like that.

Thank you to Hector for his quick visual inspection of the vehicle when I returned the next day with concerns. The mirrors on both sides of the truck were loose and just flopped around in the breeze as I drove. I was unable to see and only changed lanes with extreme caution. Very inconvenient and very unsafe.

Your trucks are being sent out with gas tanks that dont have a full tank of gas, so when I return it and try to match the gas gauge reading I CANT with out over paying and filling the gas more than I. Needed too. This makes me never want to rent a truck that does NOT have a full tank of gas. That way I dont feel cheated and ripped off. Fill your gas up and find a way to stop people from siphoning your gas.

TERRIBLE scheduling changes 3 times over 3 locations on moving day. Whatever system you use to schedule where the truck is and when I can pick it up is the WORST. I reserved a truck three days in advance only to be told by the scheduler at the last change that someone had reserved a truck same day and took my reservation. So she switched it back. I will never use UHAUL again.

Fuel charge was extremely excessive. Drove approximately 30 miles and put in 2 gallons of gas. This should have been sufficient. Charged $14 for returning with not enough fuel. Another gallon could suffice. $14 is far too much to cover this. May cause me to reconsider U-haul in the future

One of the items that I reserved and paid for, furniture pads, was not included when my husband picked up the rental. He didn't realize that I had paid for the pads and so didn't notice that they weren't there. But he would have really appreciated having them. After talking to me, my husband informed the U-Haul representative at drop off about the oversight, and received no apology or offer for a refund, just a shrug and the comment, "Oh yeah, they should've been in the back." The amount of money involved isn't large, but the very poor customer service doesn't make me eager to use U-Haul again.

Person who rented to me was brusque, rude and unhelpful. He also added a $10 charge to my agreement without asking or explaining. Coupled with the numerous "you break it you buy it" messages posted EVERYWHERE I have serious doubts I'll ever rent from Uhaul again. The people who checked me in were very helpful and reversed the charge, which I appreciated.

There was some soda spilt on the floor and there was still a puddle in the cup holder. The guys are usually pretty good, but, they missed it this time. It didn't bother me because I had my stuff in a plastic bag and there was an extra cup holder on the door. But, when I did the self-return, I wanted to tell them to clean the soda residue, and couldn't figure out how to prevent them from charging clean up fees. So, the self-return quote had a clean up fee. But, when I got the the actual bill later, they removed the clean up fee. So, you could improve your self-return process by adding an option : "Need to clean van for next customer, but was already dirty when I got it."

This location was severely understaffed. There was at least 12 people in line for the hour I waited to be helped. The 2 staff members could not keep up (one did his best by running to and from the lot....the other took his time). I was unable to access my online check-in and had to wait in line. Unacceptable process. I wouldn't recommend a Sunday reservation at this location.

The truck smelled like someone smoked in it with the windows rolled up. The service agent didn't express empathy either. I would say that check-in and check-out agents didn't smile or express interest to ensure I was taken care of.

The location was great. However, it was too big and there was only one person to deal with several clients. In addition, It was very hard to reach the location by phone. We needed to know specific things and the call center was not able to direct us to the location. Perhaps, they need to hire an additional person to help at this location.

When I came to drop the keys, it said I had to go to uhaul.com/share, I downloaded the app and I was working through it when it lost data connection and it asked me to restart the whole process of taking many pictures to prove that the vehicle was in good condition and odometer reading and all that. Frustrated, I just dropped off the keys. The uhaul agent that gave me the keys didn’t tell me about the cumbersome process. You should remove that process when dropping off the keys unless you are going to give us money back if we did all that!!!!

The person that called me gave me a hard time for keeping the 5x8 trailer for two fats stating the had customers waiting on the trailer. When we dropped the trailer off at the site the location had 3 other 5x8 trailers sitting in the yard. Very unprofessional since I communicated the change in the dropoff date several days in advance and we paid the extra for the extra days.

We received our reserved one-way w/ the gas gauge notably below empty and then told we would be accountable to leverage roadside assistance if we ran out of gas. Also, we were pulled over twice enroute to our final destination because the truck only had one functioning headlight and taillight. Renting from Uhaul proved to be a nightmare! Never again

Truck had faulty wiring so switches and wires were hanging below the dash and the brake alarm would not stop ringing. The two people who were working were quite nice but you need six people working there. I had to wait 40 minutes just to be served.

When I arrived there was only one person working and 4 people ahead of me waiting to rent vehicles. It was a Sunday morning...a time when it is very common for people to move. It took 25 minutes for me to get check in and assigned a van. When they did assign me a van, the one they gave me did not match the paperwork. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to figure out how to get me a new van. The van itself was fine. When I returned it, they checked me in. I filled the van with gas at a level that exceeded the amount I left with. They tried to charge me a fuel charge. When I pointed out that I had brought back the van with enough gas, they attempted to remove the fuel charge. This took two people 15 minutes to figure out how to do. In the end, they had to reduce the miles driven because they could not figure out how to remove the fuel charge. Over all, the whole experience was frustrating.

Cue cards on the line so people can get everything ready to speed up the process. Have an answer sheet with multiple selection at the beginning of the line if there is a line of 3 or more rather than standing there waiting for the longest time for 15 to 30 minutes.
